I have been to this store a few times but never bothered leaving a review as I was somewhat neutral in my stance. But today, I hit a tipping point which is making me write this super long review. What is the cause you ask? The rude arrogant cashier! So I went in to buy a few things, mainly fish items. I picked up a few dry frozen shrimp packet from the fish section and there was a label with the name of the package, which mentioned that the cost is $3.99. There was also a separate printed out piece of paper which listed the cost of various items in the same section. The fish package was not listed on this piece of paper. There was only a single label which had the name of the exact brand and it said the cost was $3.99. Bought a few other things, one of which was toast biscuit which had a nice deal, BUY 2 get 1 FREE. I will mention later why this is important. I went to the checkout with my goods. When the cashier started ringing the items, I noticed the fish packet was actually $4.99. No big deal, it's only a dollar more. I had taken a few thinking it was $3.99. Fair enough. I mentioned to the cashier that the fish packet had a label and it said it was $3.99 so they should update or price match since they forgot to update the label. This is the normal thing to do at almost any major supermarket. If an item is in the wrong isle, or the price tag has not been updated, the store will price match the label. I hinted that he should price match but he kept repeating "This is new item, it is not in the list, I know" and just proceeded to finalize the payment. After I mentioned that the usual policy for stores is to maintain the price which is seen on labels, he goes on to say "Hey every store is different. Nobody else is giving out 1 Toast Biscuit for Free when you buy Two!". I find that argument to be absolutely absurd. You're giving out deal like that because you want to attract customers with the word free. You're definitely counting the cost of selling 3 for the price of 2, right? That's what they're doing obviously. So it has no relevancy to the situation with your outdated and misleading labels! Not only did he not admit to being at fault for not updating the label, he starts arguing about other good deals that they're offering. He even said to me "Don't be angry" which actually caused me to be angry. I was merely frustrated before but it turned to anger after listening to his remarks. Long story short, update your prices, throw out expired food and don't argue with customers when you can't manage your inventory and update your labels. The customer has the right to choose things to buy based on their prices and if you can't even update your prices, why should they come in and ship blindly at your store? What ticked me off was the rude behavior of the cashier and for this reason only, I am not shopping at this store again. If you're the owner, please reconsider who you're employing. The store does not seem busy and maybe that's because you have managed to employ rude, miserable employees. The guy was wearing a white t-shirt and had a gigantic belly, since I didn't ask for his name. I shopped for $300 worth of goods, I couldn't care less about the extra $5. I did care about this tone and behavior though and now for that reason, you lost a customer. UPDATE: Upgraded my rating to 4 star. Here's the reason why: 1) They actually listened to my feedback on rude customer service. I did not see the rude cashier from last time. Instead they had a really polite girl cashier who helped pack the grocery for us. 2) They had updated labels for their food. Although some labels were hand written (who runs a grocery store and doesn't have label printers?) 3) Produce section was fresh, didn't see expired food. 4) They listened to feedback and improved. I will return in the future and hope they continue to maintain the standards.
I left similar review about a year ago. I am reposting it with more added to the notes from what I experienced yesterday. Every time you visit and come out of this store clothes, body everything that you carry, smells really bad. During COVID I thought it's probably coming out of the disinfectant material/chemical, but not sure where is this strong smells coming out of. Yesterday, I bought Gram Flour (Besan), Muri (puff rice), Eggs, coriander leaf everything smells, I am talking about actual items / produce inside the packaging smells that’s the reason I had to throw out everything. During our breakfast (Iftar time) we could not eat anything that were made out of Gram Flour, Muri, Eggs. The package I left in the fridge and in the cabinet whole cabinet is smelling the same. Hello, wake up, if you do not or cannot find out or do not smell that smell you have problem. Please have it checked by the professional. Otherwise like me, planned to stop going anymore to your store, likewise other people will reduce their visit, eventually it will hamper you business. Last time I complaint about Daal puri with big and multiple fungus. No one seems to care about anything. I met couple of owners they are really very friendly and employees are very friendly too. Everything is available in that store and very convenient to shop. Price wise competitive. But no more going there. Following was from my last review 10 months ago: The disinfectant material/chemical they use contaminates all Produces and products, even our shirt smells of that VERY STRONG disinfectant material/chemical. Now the sad part is the "Milk" inside the plastic pack of 3.4 litre 3.25% smells the same. My kids complaint about milk smells gross, I did not believe, then I tried to drink and I had to throw out the milk. So please change your disinfectant material/chemical with something else that EVERYONE uses elsewhere. Thanks
I live in the neighbourhood and very much like to support the local business, however, the attitude of some of the cashiers is far from being polite - not sure if it is the cultural or lingual and or low pay. I received a flyer on Thursday morning of a sale but when I arrived at the store, I was shocked and confused because the displayed prices did not reflect the advertised sale prices in the latest flyer. And a copy of the recent flyer not available at the store. Anyway I picked up few items and reached the cashiers who were busy chit chatting. After few minutes, I was acknowledged and ordered to move to Casher No 2. When I inquired, the cashier lady asked me to bring the flyer with me the next time? Not sure what she meant but it does not sound like a good practice. Anyhow, the place is much cleaner but needs organization. Various promotion item are placed every where which makes the place very untidy. The hand written prices and unreadable tags on the shelves are very confusing. There is a good collection of Spices in the store - I guess the spices do not expire like the frozen bread and fish products? I like the meat counter, one of the cleanest in the town, however the service need to be improved, for I hate to just stand there unnoticed. The fish section looks okay. This grocery store is changing and not sure if it will stay as a grocery store combined with a disorganized $ Dollar store or a disorganized store selling just about anything. I like having a store like this in my neighborhood and ask the many merchants and owners of this place to look at the history and fate of verious stores try to operate at the this location and failed.
As a Bangladeshi, I hate going all the way to Danforth just to enter dirty, tiny stores to get the brands that I sometimes crave for. I heard about Victoria supermarket from a friend and the reason for delaying my visit was because I didn't expect much from the place. Most Bangladeshi stores tend to be a disappointment. But they are one of few places that clean, gut and and cut frozen fish for a reasonable price. When I finally went, I was very impressed. They were super clean, spacious, neat and organized. They also stocked all Bangladeshi brands, vegetables and had a huge array of frozen fish, larger than the other Bangladeshi stores such as Sarkar or others in Danforth. They also have a huge fresh meat section where there is everything from duck, beef, lamb, fish, etc. And halal. Customer service was very good. The only thing they could probably add, that I would personally love is, if they could also sell traditional Bangladeshi tea with other snacks such as piyaju, somosa, etc. They have a huge parking lot and can easily arrange it outdoors or indoors. It would save me so much time and I wouldn't have to go all the way to Danforth when my husband is craving for the street style tea and snacks.
I shop at this supermarket sometimes since I don't live that far. Cashiers at checkout are friendly. Prices a bit high for certain products. But they do have a good selection of Indian spices and other grocery items. When I visited this store recently I found out that the people in the meat department seemed to be inattentive and rude. Two men were working there at that time. They also did not have prices of meat properly marked. I was not sure about the price for chicken wings. When I enquired the man in the meat department seemed uncomfortable and did not want to be bothered. And said they are very busy and don't have time for enquiries. Though it was not a busy time when I did my shopping. This is bad customer service. Maybe because I was a lady. The customer before me was a man and was served well. I still brought a huge amount of meat from them that day. Their grocery aisles are not marked to know where to find stuff. So it is very difficult to find items at Victoria Supermarket grocery store. But the rest of the staff at Victoria Supermarket were very helpful when I asked them where to items that I could not find. I recommend this store and will visit again.
Heading southbound on Victoria Park Ave just south of Eglinton Ave. E is a supermarket stocked with East Asian foods as well as houseware products. I found many items in the produce/fruits/vegetables department slightly higher than other stores I frequent. There is an ok selection to choose from. Do pay attention to expiry dates on products like instant noodles. I was drawn to a red/white sale sign of $0.10 for a package? What? Ten cents! Yes, but the inventory was close or past the stamped best before date. The meat department is at the rear of the store where staff will prepare/package/weigh your selection. There are some huge frozen fish stocked in the freezers! Salted fish is also on display. I loved the cold beverages choices, many that I've never heard of but the flavours sounded fascinating. Would probably come back here from time to time but I must try the Maggi 2-Minute instant noodles first...
There is a lot wrong about this store. As of today the phone number does not work, the email bounced back...so here I am writing a review. No doubt I tried to reach them first. Went in today to buy Nutella which is priced @ $5.99 for the 725gms on the flyer. Bought two only to reach home & find out that I was charged $7.99 each. On going back to the store the cashier told me the discount is applied only when the flyer is presented with the item!!! She then called for the manager spoke to him in hindi (which by the way I speak too) not sure what the manager said to her but she then started giggling! Also while waiting to be attended a gentleman had 2 items which were wrongly priced...smart of him to catch it there. Their website states customer service- satisfaction guaranteed, Exchange, refund no problem!!! Save yourself the Hassel & check the bill twice before leaving...
I typically do not enjoy writing negative reviews, but in this case, I feel it is necessary to share my experience in order to warn others. During my first and probably last visit to this location, I traveled 117km one-way from my home to purchase Bangladeshi products. Along with other items, I purchased frozen Rice Roti and Chapati. Upon arriving home and opening the roti, I discovered that they were infected with fungus and had dark spots, even though they were still within their expiration date. I spoke with friends who also visited this location and purchased other frozen products, and they had the same issue. After making such a long journey during Ramadan with the hope of finding authentic Bangladeshi foods, I was extremely disappointed by the quality of the products I received. I will not be returning to this location.
Only giving 2 stars because everything else here is good - minus the meats. I dont know if this was a one off thing because we haven't had bad experiences here before - but last night we purchased a few lbs of veal - and it was rotten/bad. The meat section in general is kinda sketchy and we know the meats aren't exactly fresh - but until last night we've been ok to purchase from here. I washed and cooked the meat as usual, no issues. But then when we tasted the food, the meat tasted foul. Like reallly bad. So we took the remainder of the meat out of the freezer to inspect & smell it, and realized it actually had the same kind of smell that we were tasting. It was disgusting. So much wasted food too. Tried calling them & no answer.
I called the store (possibly he was the owner) and was looking for a particular brand of Gobindobhog rice. He checked and ensured that he had the last bag and he will keep it for me for pickup. I was glad but eventually it was a very bad experience I had. I went to the stored the bought it and after coming home I realized that there is a big hole in the bag which was taped to hide. I checked the weight and found it was not adequate. Realized that the store people was aware of it and they mistreated me by selling a damaged product. This is a breach of trust. I will never go back to this store again and request all the buyers to check the product properly before they leave the store. This place doesn't seems to be trustworthy.
I have ordered many times in last few months from Victoria Supermarket Online store. Although I haven't visited the store yet, but my online ordering experience is very good. They actually give priority to their customers. Day by day their online delivery method is improving like SMS facility for delivery status. Also the best part of this store is fish cleaning and cutting service as per your requirements which is the most vital part to choose this store over other Bengali groceries. We tried Mutton also which is again quite good and price is competitive. Although, sometimes we found out that grocery items are bit costly here but during covid , I can still pay that and not visit the store in person.
Pricey and Disorganized. I was so looking forward to visiting this store under newer management and had a long list of things I needed. Boy, was I in for a rude awakening! First of all, everything including spices were so pricey compared to what one can find at major supermarkets. I am a good cook and the variety of spices I buy from Loblaws, No Frills even Freshco are of good quality and I am pretty happy with the freshness. Additionally, Victoria Supermarket was messy and disorganized which does not equate to a great shopping experience. I would like to add the cash staff was friendly but that did not change my overall rating. Will I be returning, NO! Would I recommend the store to others, NO!
I’m not sure what cleaning product they use but it smells through majority of their products. Do not buy food products like eggs, bread, oats and especially the milk is the worst since there is an after taste. There is a very distinct smell when you walk in to the store itself. I’d recommend going elsewhere as it is a hit or miss. Vegetables and meat are not always fresh. The two star rating is for convenience since it’s close by to where I live, other than that I would have rated this place a 0 star rating. I’ve spoken with the supervisor and he said that there is no smell. I’m going to be contacting Toronto public health to audit.
This place used to be called Great Food and it was a good one. Since its ownership has changed and now its called Victoria Super Mart, run by Bangladeshi owner, its nothing but a subpar grocery store. Fruit section has stacks of stale fruit which is being sold on deals to convince customers to buy it. The general grocery is nothing special. The place reminds me of Sarkar Foods(epitomy of dirtiest possible grocery store, at Danforth/Vic Park) but a larger version. If you want to buy south asian grocery there is no store that comes closer to Iqbal Foods in Thornclife Park.
Awesome grocery store. A good mix of Desi, Philipino, Carribean and more! Worth the visit just for the massive frozen paratha selection. Veg is reasonably fresh, they seem the get shipments on Sundays, so go then for the best selection. Not very busy in the evenings, which is good for social distancing. The only downside is smells quite a bit of meat and fish, which most people won't mind, but for me I find it a little difficult, so for that reason I don't go as regularly as I could. But over all a great store! You will find things here you won't find anywhere else.
This is a very well maintained and managed desi grocery store. Fruits and vegetables are fresh (yes, including young green mango). Fresh meat and fish sections are kept clean. Aisles are clear of clutter and shelves are neatly stocked. Also lots of nostalgic items from back home - ThumsUp, Limca, chanachur, Gobindobhog rice, specialty masalas etc. to name a few. The added plus is their home delivery service. The online ordering is a breeze and everything is delivered properly packaged. Super friendly staff too!
I visited this supermarket for the first time by looking at the weekly flyer deals. Upon visiting I noticed most the items (including food items) were either expired or rotten and I am assuming this was main reason why it’s cheaper. The worst part was not one or two products were expired but almost everything to name few groceries, frozen items and so on. I understand if it’s few days after expiring but I couldn’t believe few items were expired almost a year ago. Please see the pictures for details.
After discovering that I was missing some ingredients for a recipe, I decided to check this place out since it's nearby. They did not have any of the supplies I needed, some of which seemed to me fairly basic grocery items. Additionally, they have been blasting very loud music throughout the neighborhood all weekend for some kind of promotion. It's been three days now, and it lasts until late in the evening. It's incredibly disruptive, and reverberates down the street.
I was happy that there is a good desi supermarket close to my home but they seem to like earning money by deceiving people. I ordered cut and clean chicken this morning. They measured it infront of me but when they gave it to me after cutting, they reduced the quantity for more than half somehow. I understand that while cleaning it, we would lose some meat but should not lose more than half. I felt deceived and will be going somewhere else from now on.
We ordered recently from here via online. It was a nice experience. The order was delivered on door step next day. We ordered 2 kg+ rohu fish , which was properly cut into desired pieces and cleaned. Else we ordered curry leaves, patali gur, mustered oil, red onions and white potatoes. All products were fresh and good except some onions which were rotten. We are overall pleased and hope to order from here in near future... keep up the good work.
This place used to be one of the best Chinese grocery stores but recently the ownership was changed and it's a mess. The vegetables were barely fresh and you can tell was old. The pricing even tho it says is on "sale" is not and is higher than what you can find for any given store. They do have a variety of items. The meat and fish section is literally dead and nothing is fresh. Avoid it unless you really wanna give it a shot.
Didn't have good experience with them. Most annoying part is there is no way to connect with them to confirm delivery date or time. Delivered Produce wasn't fresh at all and milk got spoiled within few days. Also I ordered 10 lbs rice bag and they put a sticker on 9 lbs bag to make it looks like 10 lbs, which is not acceptable. Not sure why our Desi stores always ruin their reputation with this kind of negative activities.
Looks like a great store to go to but it's pretty weird seeing stores keep on closing down every 3 years seems pretty strange. It all started with Price Chopper closing down in 2008-2009 then Bestwin opened in 2011 then closed down in 2013. Then Greatfood came opened in 2014 and closed down in 2019. Now we have Victoria Supermarket I hope this sticks around for a long time and not only 3 years. Best of luck!
Dismiss all the 5 star FAKE reviews from fake accounts. Here's a real fact review for you. The stock and items are not bad, but the prices are higher compared to their quality. The customer service and the staffs sitting around inside are absolute worst. They have zero manners, rude and incompetent. These people need to learn how to provide better service to customers instead of just opening up a market.
The cheapest supermarket I had seen in Canada. I live in Vaughan and one day I had an appointment close to this supermarket and I decided to go to buy some fruits. When I went inside I couldn't believe how cheap it was omg! I highly recommend it. I even checked expiration dates because i couldnt believe it was so cheap but everything was in order. Not luxury place but very convenient. Five stars *****
Ordered groceries, all were good but the onion quality was bad. Also, the instead of 6 chickens, there were 4. However, once I let them know, they apologized and promptly responded and delivered the next day the chickens and the onion. This is the 3rd time I ordered groceries...only this time having some issues. Overall, they are good and if you contact them in messenger, quite prompt in response.
I live in the neighborhood and frequent the store often. I've experienced bad customer service from some of the staff but the overall convenience is worth it. The meat section is decent. The produce in the fruits and vegetables section is not always fresh and I've also seen expired items many times on their shelves. They do seem to be constantly improving, so I'll give them that.
The store is good and has all types of spices and meat. I am not sure if they opened up their fish section but will be checking that out later. They are bringing more south asian foods and vegatables in August I believe. It is a very useful store as it is nearby and open until 10pm. I do see some people are slowly coming in. You should check it out and see it for yourself.
Loved online shopping from this store since the start of the pandemic. Have purchased after every 2 months. No complains about the order. But gave 1 star less due to them stopping home delivery. Will be going back to my usual store in Mississauga, if need to do in store shopping as that's closer. This store will be losing many costumers for sure with this new policy. :(
Variety of products are available there. Fish, meat, groceries, toys, utensils, dresses and many more. Positive: 1. Behaviour of the staffs 2. They have facility to remove scales of fish 3. So many things under one roof 4. You can burgain on certain items. Negative: 1. Maximum products(specially those are on offer) are expired, you need to check the date before buy.
Hi I come their for the first time and I buye food like rice and checkin and Brad from fresh food all u can eat from the front of store which is new but the food was old and the bread was fungus on it I wish I take a picture to show but I put it in corbege and I got so sick I should sue u guys for this kind of fresh food which it wasn't fresh at all so so sick
They opened the Grocery Store recently, this was my second visit. Unorganized display, very poor quality vegetable on the selves, zero customer service. I purchased chicken and paid extra charge for cleaning but price is competitive. Decoration still not yet completed. They have to improve a lot to attract people, I'm not going there anymore
Very disappointed in this place. New owners have groceries mostly for there own culture. Previous owners had groceries for every culture. Now hardly any West Indian variety. I had a feeling something was up due to the empty parking lot lately... Food labels are all over the place and unorganized. Many products missing labels and over priced.
Really like this place. Clean n hygienic environment, no bad smell, spacious, fresh fruits and vegetables , mainly fish and meat section is mind blowing as a deshi grocery. Especially they have options for scales if from frozen fish which is amazing . I will definitely go their again. Customer service is their asset. Definitely recommended
Good place. The guys are trying. But they get very rude if you want to take the loaded shopping basket to the parking lot. Fruits and vegetables are not that fresh. Parking spots always available. Meat section guys are little bit non-cooperative. Overall they need to improve their bread section, vegetables and fruits and their behaviour.
Ordered online during Ramadan. Got everything on time. I appreciate. But shocked to see the portions of chicken n fishes. What I really don't appreciate "they changed every brand I ordered" . Shocking. They did it for Kalijeera rice, potato, chana dal, mustard oil...what's the point of choosing favorite brands from their website ?
Worst Super market I've ever been to. It's a mess inside. High prices low quality products. Only thing I found there to be ok is there fish section. The gentlemen at the check out counter should learn about customer service. I mean the guy is like a robot, a simple thank you and a smile would go a long way. Very disappointed.
Not a satisfied with their service . In my two order they didn’t refund $13 which they owe to me . Vegetables they supplied is not fresh , some of them are rotten specially cucumber and ball-papers. They have no phone no to contact . Only way to contact them is through email. I have sent them an email and they never replied .
Located on main Victoria Park Avenue just South of Eglinton Ave. East. Huge variety of south Asian (Pakistani, Bangladeshi & Indian) grocery items. They carry all kinds of fresh vegetables, fruits including Halal mert section plus variety of fresh & frozen seafood. Prices are very competitive. Highly recommended to anyone!
Awesome place get quality products. I would the best desi shop in town. Their quality and price is amazing. Highly recommended for halal guys. Victoria is my daily grocery shop. Usually I like Canadian grocery shops. But this probably the only desi grocery shop that I go to. Amazing customer service. Really happy
Their fish quality have gone down drastically after the shop moved. May be vendor changed not sure. But except block fishes rohu, Katla hilsa were really bad. We bought second time thinking May be the first time was a one-off scenario but second time even it had bad smell. This is really pathetic and inedible.
Decent place to get groceries but would not recommend it if it's out of your way. It's a bengali grocery store but doesn't feel like it. It feels more like a Asian grocery store. The previous logo and picture is still there. There's a lot more authentic bengali store down on danforth and Victoria Park
The store looks a little bit messy and has prevalent bad smells. Be aware that prices and description labels don't match with items. But if you are from India, Nepal, Pakistan, or Bangladesh, they have a great food selection. You can buy utensils and spices that are unique to the Indian subcontinent.
Usually a great place to shop for desi ingredients. I prefer this over others because you can order online. Surprisingly, cannot find any grocery item on the website anymore which is weird. The phone no. on google search is also non responsive. Hope it's not hacked and previous payment info is safe.
This is a great place if you are looking for any item you can find in Canada and beyond esp international drinks and ethnic food ingredients. It is big enough for many people to get in while following social distancing and health and safety procedures through this toughest time of covid-19 pandemic.
Victoria supermarket is good, but meat shop is the worst I ever been too. The guy doesn't even know how to talk. He acts like he is giving the meat for free and giving us a favour. Its better to get a new meat management because this one might give victoria a bad name, which itself is a good store.
Visited this place with my wife in the weekend and absolutely loved it! This place used to be have a different owner with a different name and we used to come all the time. However, this NEW place is even better than the previous one! Place is clean and the items are very well priced. Love it!
Victoria Supermarket is one of the largest Bangladeshi managed supermarket in Toronto with big space and bigger collection of fish, meat, fruits, vegetables, rices, oils, grocery items, processed foods, etc. This establishment is well managed with quality products and very friendly staff.
Terrible layout. The flow is not intuitive. Clothes in the food section, a garbage bin in the blanket section. Everything isle looked half- hearted and the fresh food sections like the butcher looked downright unhygienic. Left without picking anything up. Hope they improve.
Ever since this store opened my hallway has been a mess. They drop off flyers door to door which is illegal. The cleaners have a hard time and then on top of that they do it every week. I hope they stop soon because we are having a tenants meeting just cause of their mess.
Bad experience and will not go anymore. Hilsha fish was so old, but date was this year. They have their own brand, meat section has two guys, behavior was not good. Manager's behave was good. Price seemed higher than other asian shop. Did not worth to go from 120km far.
I was hoping the store would be like the other Asian grocery stores close by. Not really. Produce looks either low quality, stale or close to rotten. Not much variety either. Most items are expensive in price compared to other Asian markets except for the cheap produce.
Place has really good selection and food for cheap. The produce could be a lot better, so I don't think I'd get any which you'd want high quality items (i.e. cucumber or tomatoes), but chillies and onions should be fine. Great store, hope it stays open this time .
Pathetic bad smell in entire store, bad quality vegetables, Fish. Prices are super high but quality is very very Bad. We bought hilsha fish and been told that it's the best. When we came home, it's just not having any taste. Do not go here, not recommended
Victoria supermarkets is well stocked, well organized, clean and reasonably priced grocery store at a convenient central location. I recommend to buy your groceries and daily household items from here. You will visit again for the great deals and bargains.
Amazed by how much this place has turned around! Clean environment with great customer service and a wide variety of all Bengali and South Asian groceries. Also just recently used their online service and would definitely recommend during COVID times!!
This is a good place for buying fresh produces. The organization could have been little better. Recently had a ownership change. Customer service is now much better. They also started selling Bangladeshi cuisine which tastes really good. Recommended.
Unable to breath when entered the store. Sheer waste of time as advertised products were missing except everything . There was no associate for help and the store had obnoxious smell of cleaning chemical. Place looks like from the 16th century! …
Their meat n fish section is surprising me lately. HASHEM Bhai n AZHAR Bhai are one of a kind. Yes they are very good n outstanding n keep up with the market price. I met SIDDIQUE Bhai, a very humble guy at the cashier. My new grocery shopping place.
Any bengali staying in and around Toronto will love this place. It is a heaven for people who like the traditional bengali fishes. Chicken is also reasonable here. More over all Indian masala and grocery items are available here. Very impressed.
I got some great unique products here but the store has this overall weird blood-like/metallic smell and sometimes I can still smell it when I get home on the outside of the products I bought here from 'boxed' water to a pack of frozen barfee.
It’s a fishmonger who also sells other stuff. Go for the fish. Do not have high hopes for a complete family shopping. The fishes are very good, no questions about it. They also descale it which is awesome considering these are Bengali fishes.
Good place to find all kind of Bengali or East Indian food necessities. They have great variety of rices which I didn’t see in most other Indian groceries. It’s a one stop for grocery and home essential needs specialized in East Indian food.
Visited here today, the store looked clean and organized. However, other reviews are correct they sell expired products. They marked down garlic Naan which I got home and found that their best before was in July. Got another product which
Another Bangladeshi supermarket, they have changed a lot after covid. Talked to Saad & Siddique, they jabe plans to launch shie store from Kolkata shoe giant Sreeleathers, and have plans to introduce sweets from Burdwan West Bengal India.
The Victoria Supermarket is a pleasant and nice place. It serves the local community well and provides a convenient location to buy a variety of things that are essential for the home. The neighborhood appreciates this supermarket.
Victoria Super Market for grocery is great but they have some food corner. We bought rice and chicken today at lunch time. And have had stomach ache and severe health issues. Don't try the cooked food from the Victoria Supermarket.
I bought Roo Afza in Ramadan from this supermarket and it was already expired In December 15 2021 and it was still placed on the shelf. Please be careful when choosing items at this store and check expiry date for products.
The supermarket is nice and large. There is a good variety of groceries and great quality of meat. The produce however is super disgusting. I bought avocado and oranges but wasn't able to eat it because of the poor quality.
All items at very competitive prices and very supporting sales staff, specially Mr Saeed is very encouragingly promote products on special offers available to buy. Overall good experience. Surely we will visit regularly.
Very much dissapointed at this store. First of, they did not have heater in the store. It was -10 outside and inside was the same. Why are you operating a super store if you cannot even manage a heater for the store?
Good parking spot, efficient staffs. For all your Bangladeshi grocery needs. Unbeatable and authentic Bangladeshi products. From dry fish to paan you'll get it here. My everyday Bangladeshi grocery store. Keep it up!
I came here last year and it was a total mess and I was very disappointed. I came back today to check it out again and they have done a total change. Great job to the staff and ownership for the major improvements.
Giving it 5 stars because I usually find what I look for desi food. Not that clean inside though. Recently noticed not enough shopping carts available. Please do something about shortage of carts management.
Loved the singara. This is the only place where I found tasty Bangladeshi style singara with reasonable price. Always their other takeaway food items are good too. Nice selection of halal meats and fish.
I just came home from this supermarket and found they charged me for the meat but did not give me the meat....last half an hour, i am calling but their phone number doesn't work. What a bad service...
It states the store will be open at 9 am , went there at 9:15 and waited till 9:35 but no sign of any management , just wasted my time . What’s the point of wasting people’s time ? Poor management .
Great location, ample free parking and open late. Pleasantly surprised it was open on Thanksgiving Monday. Was on the search for Halal meat and there was plenty of options. Will definitely be back.
The Store they opened recently with not an organized way. I disappointed that vegetables are not fresh mainly they display rotten Banana Stem and Drum Sticks. The meat section was also very dirty.
Don't waste your time or money cpming here. I should have known to turn back when the parking lot was empty. Food is past due. The meat is rotten the next day. The place smells like moth balls.
Don't go here if you only use a swipe card. The management is unwilling to accommodate and will refuse you as a customer. Otherwise I would prefer to shop here as it is not a mainline brand.
Reasonable prices. Check the expiry dates, and condition of products. Bought some roti on sale, cheap at .99 cents but found them to be re frozen. Good selection of south Asian groceries.
New Supermarket on Victoria that provides excellent service, high quality food and low price. I went there and got my seafood and it is cheaper than Danforth Market. Highly recommended.
Great value for staples, produce quality seems good. Never seen it busy (no lines!) I'm not usually looking for an Indian/Filipino/Caribbean item, but often happily pick one up to try.
Don’t buy meat from here. I remember there was hardly any fat when he weighed the meat. Now after opening the packet at home I found chunks of fat. Terrible, there’s something fishy
A fantastic variety of fresh meats , fish , veggies... spieces and some classic T Shirts and Dresses . Loved it. So reasonably priced. Wow …
Purchased salmon that was very poor quality, definitely rinsed repeatedly and I won't even mention the meat that was there.. Never again will I walk in the doors of this place.
Conveniently located super-market with variety of Indian, Bangladeshi, Pakistani, West-Indian groceries and products. Excellent meat and fish section. Has a large parking lot.
It's a good grocery store and good prices. But it needs to be more organized , lots of fruits and vegetables etc. They just opened and the employees are very nice and helpful.
Very good collection and one of the largest collection of fresh water fishes in Toronto. If you want any of rohu, katla, hilsa, pabda etc. this is the go to place in toronto
The new management is just started! Have some nice products in great price. Some not so much good price. If they get the traffic going in few months this store will pick up!
The staff is not wearing mask properly, neither do the customers or staff maintain sufficient social distancing. I will not go back there for the duration of the pandemic.
I visited & had my house shopping. It's very new in the area and got all Asian slices & other groceries. Halal meat & children with lovely pricing . Thank to management
Great collection of meat and spices. But they really need to take care of rotten fruits and vegetables. Also onion and potato bags are cheaper than any other stores.
Nice and big store, they have variety of choices for different community people as well competitive price as well friendly environment. I don't mind shipping there.
They saved my one hour of time as I don't need to takeout fish scales. Just loved their dry fish collection.Just one thing check expire date before buying any item
Must watch sale items date. Recently I bought $.99 Puri, Singara . Taste is garbage. Bitter taste. trying to call them. none of their number works. Not recommend.
Super nasty open box of black tiger shrimp jumbo but looked like it was opened and dried out doesn't look like it's too healthy to buy anything from the store
You will find all your favourite Indian and Nepali snacks here. Great collection of Rice brands from Asia. They have the authentic desi Ghee brands as well!
buyer beware ask for no refund policy even if product substandard or stale because they have strict no refund policy on one to one free and sale items
