VCA JAMTHA STADIUM As the city expanded and the areas surrounding our stadium witnessed construction activities and as international matches were held regularly at the Civil lines stadium, parking of vehicles was a big issue. Also, there was felt an imminent need for a larger stadium having facilities of international standards. Thus in 2004 Mr. Shashank Manohar, the then President of our Association, taking a very bold & visionary approach decided to construct an international level stadium at Jamtha, 16 kms from our present Civil Lines stadium. Once again this proposal was met with skeptism, yet Mr. Manohar's decisiveness saw through the construction of the Jamtha stadium, now considered as one of the best international cricket venue and stadium. In 2008, Jamtha stadium hosted its first international Test Match between India and Australia. A FEW NOTABLE FEATURES OF THE JAMTHA STADIUM ARE: Total Capacity - 44904. I m happy with this stadium but their is no dustbin in my h-4 site, no suitable parking facilities, no supporting staff, after ending match we loss the direction of nagpur city just because a unknown place of parking which gives us by jamtha stadium. After leaving that parking place..their is no road for more than ten km, its a horrible way to get exit tht place, so many ppls are wondering here n der coz they also lost their way, no security, no transportation, for more than half n hr we found a highway which is unknown for us, two bikers are come near to my vehicle and abuse me n my brother.. It was a bullshit experience..

It may be the old stadium in Nagpur, however it still has its charm and even today it comes with a lot of history. Some first class matches are still played here and other tournaments as well. It's also sometimes the practice venue when some big teams are in town. Some of the best eating joints are also located around the stadium. Even today the lush green grass and the size of the ground makes you fall in love with cricket. If you are visiting from outstation this is one place I would recommend visiting.

You will be amazed after watching any match here. stadium built outside city limits. Ample parking space. Washrooms are present on every floor. Food stalls are also available during break time. Management of crowd is good. Many volunteers to guide you through the way. Police security and other factors are also taken into consideration.

Although in terms of seating capacity it is behind Eden Garden(Kolkata), but in terms of playing dimensions, It has got the longest boundary among all the cricket stadiums in India, and so its a bit challenging ground for batsman, which is evident from many Int matches played here. My favorite test match played here is - Ind Vs SA, 3rd Test, Nov, 2015.

The name of this building is Kukreja Infinity and it is Nagpur's soon to be completed new flat scheme building where there is a lot of luxury flats and also this building is very beautiful to look at and the view inside the flats is even more beautiful. Anyone who sees this building keeps on seeing it. This building is located in the Sadar area of Nagpur, near the old VCA ground, which is very close to the market.

The only cricket ground in central india. This place has seen some seriously good cricket. With Sourav Ganguly retiring in the Maiden test of the Ground to India Chasing down 350+ against Australia. This place has a magical atmosphere. The outfield here is the largest in India with the minimum distance from boundary being 70-75 meter. The ground looks picturesque and has the best Media box one can ever see.

Today I gone here to see current Team India Practice Session. This is a good ground but now no International Matches are held here as there is already a new ground in Nagpur.

Village Jamtha has been highlighted only because of the presence of stadium. Parking is in bulk. Outside snacks, water drinks etc are not allowed to be taken inside the stadium anyway.

Ground situated in the heart of the city.. If you are a cricket lover this the ground where you can visit any time throughout the year(expect rainy season) & day as all under 16, 19,etc., all first class big matches are played on this ground. Pls See that u dont carry any bags or anything with you. You are not allowed to take anything inside so it becomes very difficult where to keep things outside. Usually it takes time to reach here leave around 40 mins before from sitabardi so u can reach on time as the traffic is also at peak during matches.

Used to be the main cricket match venue for test match, one day international & T 20 matches between countries. Now used for domestic level matches like Ranji trophy, duleep & for the selection of the Maharashtra & vidharbha teams. The test matches are now being conducted at the new stadium at Jamtha.

Stadium itself is fabulous. However during ant Match, the 2 hrs traffic jam is a pain in the butt. There are no proper channels made for exit after a match and the routes are always unplanned/ jammed. It would make sense for the Stadium Executive Body to develop an alternative route for exits.
