Wir haben hier eine SIM gekauft. Die Angestellten waren jedoch zu faul, diese korrekt zu registrieren. Die SIM hat nur für 5 Tage funktioniert, danach mussten wir die SIM in einem anderen Viettel Store registrieren (gratis in sapa). Auch haben sie versucht, uns ein Touristenpaket zu verkaufen (haben wir abgelehnt). Empfehlung für das Vorgehen beim SIM-Kaufen. 1. Angebot auf der Viettel Webseite heraussuchen und das gewünschte Paket zeigen und verlangen. 2. Nach dem Installieren der SIM die Registrierung prüfen. Dazu kann man das My Viettel App oder deren Webseite nutzen. Erst wenn euer Name da korrekt angezeigt wird, funktioniert die SIM für eine längere Dauer. In der App sieht man auch gut, wie lange das Paket noch gültig ist und wie viele GB Daten man gebraucht hat.

This store is not honest at all. I went in asking for 30N plan that is listed for 300k. They are official store and am supposed to register my passport. However, they gave me the v150n plan that is 150k. They also charged me 100k for the sim. When text tttb to 1414, it shown me that the sim is register to someone else 2 weeks before. Apparently they recycle the sim after people left the country and gave it to you. So it may expire in 30 days minus the 2 weeks which may or may not cover till the end of your trip. When I confront them about it. They said it is the same which is not true at all. They do speak English. Also they charged with with credit card where there is a 3% fee they didn't tell me. I only see it when I check my credit card transaction.

I cannot understand why you guys say here is better to buy sevice for viettel. I am living in Vietnam over 5 yrs. When I visit there, she said I can just have a plan for 30 days, even if I need monthly plan cuz I live here. It cannot have call service and lower data capacity than normal monthly plan. And I said I hope Mimax or VN service for monthly plan, she set just for data only. They reject to pay by card. I usually paid it by card at HCM city. So I hope you would better to check viettel site with google translater. Once you buy sim card, you can do it by yourself using app. Your hotel can helpful for it. You can get sim card here. They only offer some “expensive” plans for tourists I guess. I paid for the cheapest one which is 200K, with like 8GB of data, some minutes of calls, valid for 30 days. The staff did not ask for my passport. I picked the plan then give her my phone, she did the rest. It’s connected then I pay 200k and leave with a smile. Edit: a fun fact the government enforced registration of sim card, like the one I just get without providing passport, is still registered to someone. you can send a SMS to 1414 with text TTTB, it will reply with a message of the registration info, like the name, passport number and phone numbers. My card is registered under someone named Romanenko and he has 30 numbers registered.

Update! (what a difference!!) (yet) again, read the reviews... Yes, the staff speak English(!!) Amazingly vast difference in attitude and competence! Although only 350 metres away (other side of the lake) THIS Viettel store offers a much more user-friendly service than I experienced at the one at 26 Hang Dau. The (many) plans were explained clearly, although be careful to indicate (insist)the one(s) you want, for there is data, local, international (etc). Yes, you still need to be buyer beware... I left with the plans I needed, and peace of mind. Worth much more than mere money...

Unfortunately they have tourist fake prices and sell already used SIM cards that will suddenly stop working. If you go here, check it out first. Do not trust them just because it looks official Update: Improved my rating to three stars, since while my SIM card was registered to somebody else, it never stopped working during the thirty days I was in Vietnam. So therefore: Watch out for prices and ideally make sure that the SIM card is registered to you. However, you might also be lucky as I was.

Even with some negative comments I decided to try my luck, and oddly enough I received very good service, they helped me with everything I needed, the service was simple, I just showed the plan I wanted to buy, presented my passport and that was it. The attendant herself registered the eSIM on my cell phone, she was very kind and made things a lot easier. I was not overcharged because I'm a tourist, I was treated with politeness and respect and I was charged the official price

I'm not 100% sure if this is official store or distributor's, but so far best Viettel store I could find. I didn't buy SIM card here, so I don't know if they register it to buyers name or use fake ID, but they helped me with other issues I had with SIM card I bought in other store. Staff kinda speaks english here, thought you have to be patient and explain your point several times (opposed to other places where you just give up trying).

For the service, I would rate it 5. Smooth and perfect. However, they did not associate the sim with my passport, nor was I asked to show my passport for registration. When I checked about my sim card registration, it was registered on some other person. I heard that this happens in Vietnam quite often and your sim may be invalidated any time. So, did not like that the official store of viettel also doesn't care about registration

DO NOT COME HERE. This store is scamming tourists by selling used sim cards belonging to other people which will expire in a few days. I was scammed first hand after paying the tourist sim prices. My sim card expired and I went back and demanded a refund and was given a new sim card with a real plan for half the price. Do not come to this store, they are stealing your money and keeping it for themselves.

Their price list they give to tourists is fake. The real cost is 50k for the SIM card and 70k for 1GB per day for 30 days and 135k for 5GB per day for 30 days. I challenged their prices by showing their website and they were very fast to get me out of there with my new SIM card. Set up with my passport and photo and everything

Lovely girl working here. I walked in just before closing but it didn't bother her. She finished serving the other two foreigners and then fixed me up with a new sim and credit, all with a smile. That was a few days ago, everything's working fine, their network is good and reception has been good everywhere in Hanoi so far.

Excellent service today, I had found the package that I wanted on the viettel website and knew going in that the package was 160k plus the sim cost of 60k. The girl serving us didn’t try and show us any other package and had us sorted within 10 minutes. The pckage we got was V160, gives you 4gb per day for 30 days.

Very good friendly service. I went to this store to buy a new SIM card. The staff was very friendly (spoke perfect English), gave me all the information I needed and activated my SIM card for me. You will find offers for less or more than a month. Don't forget to take your passport, and you can pay by credit card.

Immediately upon walking in, I was called to sit down. I forget the name of the lady who helped me, but she spoke excellent English and explained to me the different SIM card options. She changed my SIM for me, helped me download a few useful apps, and answered all of my questions! I was in and out in 20 minutes.

This store runs a scam. They just recycle the sim and give it to you and that too on higher price. So you don't have any guarantee that the sim is gonna be working for specified time. It may just stop working when you are actually in need of it. Don't go to this store. Very bad. Total scam place.

The staff here made getting a setting up a prepaid SIM easy. The people working when I visited spoke English, but they also have the price/services written out in English for you to refer to if the employee doesn’t speak English. Whole thing took 5 minutes. Note, you can ONLY pay with cash.

Tourist Scam!! You expect to be treated properly in an official store, but they have "special" tourist rates on a selfmade pricelist. They charge you 100% extra. Do not go there! Just a 10min walk to "Phòng Giao Dịch Viettel Quận Ba Đình" and you're treated properly.

We came here for a SIM to have data coverage for our stay. We opted for eSIM (extra 50k) for convenience (our phone has only 1 phys SIM slot). Nice, clean, spacious store with friendly staff. According to reviews, Viettel has the best coverage all around Vietnam.

They show you (tourist) price list. More than double the actual cost show on their website. I hope my country is ripping off Vietnamese tourists as much as I am being ripped off. Its so surprising that an office mobile operator shop is scamming tourists.

Viettel is the largest telecoms provider in Vietnam by coverage. Their fees for uncapped data cards for 30 days are reasonable and the sim swap is quick. You need to show your passport. They will do the rest. Only purchase from official stores.

I wanted a Data only SIM and the lady that served me spoke good English. She installed the SIM for me and checked it was working before I left the store. In and out in 5 mins. Great service.

I don't know where are the prices coming from but it is more than online. I went to shop another viettel 10 mins away and received real price like on their website. Shame on you!

This Viettel department is a cheater. They ask you triple prices to compare with the website. When I asked to explain the difference they didn't answer me several times.
