Got a margarita pizza to take out. Smelt amazing. Looks amazing. Tasted very nice but the base was floppy, not undercooked but I would have liked it a little more well done. Thats said I didn't ask for it well done and maybe I should have. The crusts were thick enough but the middle of the base turned to mush. All the flavours were there though so I can't knoch the ingredients. Just that if you tried to hold a slice up by the crust it would literally drip. Amazing inside the place though. Really nice authentic restaurant. I'd take someone there to impress for sure. And friendly staff. I'd give the pizza a 5.6 out of 10. The base could have been slightly more thicker in the middle and it could have been cooked for a couple more minute. Definitely salvageable. I would go again and request a more well done pizza. With the tasty tomato sauce they do and delicious cheese and fresh herb a decent base would push that score up. For the place, the decor and the amazing smells coning from the kitchen id score it overall 4.1 out of 5. Definitely a place to wine and dine for sure.

(A disappointing outcome) Given that I was only in Liverpool for one night, I did my research beforehand and found this highly rated Italian restaurant to dine in, so I was really looking forward to try it. On 12 Nov, I walked past the place at about 12pm and went in to ask if I could make a reservation for that evening. The chef (or owner I think) told me that it was not necessary since it’s for one pax and I can just walk in later. At 645pm, I walked in and was turned away as the restaurant was booked fully till closing. On hindsight, I should have persisted in getting a reservation in writing. No doubt it is a popular place and I’m sure the food is likely to be good, but there could be more care and thought towards potential customers. Before booking I checked out the reviews. Most were very good, but there were a few bad ones. But we felt it was worth a visit. How right we were. We visited last evening (14/10/23) and enjoyed it very much. From entering we were greeted by friendly staff, our table was ready for us and the food was as good, if not better, as any we have had before and we have eaten a lot of Italian food. This was at 5.30pm on a Saturday night, a very busy time on a busy day but the service was exceptional. Probably the best Italian food I've ever eaten, I liked the way the meals were presented. The decor was also pretty impressive, some might say it's a bit too much but personally I like it. This is where the positives end, it was really warm in there without any ventilation. Staff seemed overworked, sweating and not engaged with customers. The tables were really close together unfortunately, it was not pleasant overhearing others conversations and trying to talk over others to be able to communicate with my partner. All in all I think it's great value for money, fantastic food, quick but not particularly great service and probably more bearable climate in the winter. I will probably visit again if I'm in Liverpool.

Excellent Italian Restaurant right in the centre of town. Did make a reservation. Had a fantastic meal. Staff very polite and attentive. The food was excellent. The drinks were good. Surroundings were really nice. Every care was taken to keep tables sanitised after use and all staff wore masks. The service was very good. Sufficient time was given to peruse the menu. We didn't feel at all rushed. Starters we were brought to the table about 15-20 mins after ordering. Then enough time was left between each course to relax. The portions were good. My only 1 disappointment was that vegatables are not served as part of the Main course, however there are complimentary sautee potatoes. Some greens would have been good. All in all I would highly recommend this restaurant. But do make a reservation to avoid disappointment.

I was in Liverpool for my birthday this weekend and went to Villa Romana for my birthday dinner. I'm well travelled and genuinely, I've never had Italian food this nice ever! The entire experience of dining here was an absolute joy. The interior is warm and inviting with a busy open kitchen and attentive wait staff who couldn't do enough. I ordered tomato soup, simple and beautifully seasoned, then Spaghetti Carbonara which was so tasty. My Dad ordered the Lasagne and it was so big, he couldn't eat the side we had ordered of Salt and rosemary potatoes! The desserts trolley is such a lovely touch which adds to the whole experience. Let's face it, it's hard to say no to dessert when you can see what you'd be missing! Thank you Villa Romana for making my birthday one to remember!

Beautiful decor, and lovely food. I was a bit disappointed with my main but not because of the cooking I just didn’t really like the sauce on my chicken it’s an acquired taste. I had the breaded chicken with Parma ham and mozzarella. My partner loved his which was the chicken and red wine and my 5 year old son demolished his creamy ham pasta. The starters was beautiful my partner and I shared the homemade soup which was minestrone and bruschetta 10/10. Will definitely return. Love the dessert trolley in there my son had a strawberry tart quite pricey though but well worth it.

We tried Villa Romana on a busy Saturday night and they accommodated us despite it being a very busy night on the mezzanine level. The staff were attentive and not intrusive, and were quick to take our drink and food order. The food came out quickly and we were surprised at the volume of food that we were presented with. These are definitely not stingy portions unlike other Italian restaurants we've been to in Liverpool. The food here is fantastic. We recommend the garlic bread with cheese and the penne arrabiata (with chicken).

We stopped by at this amazing Italian restaurant on a weeknight, and we were not disappointed. The restaurant was busy, but we got a table and were sitted immediately. Drinks, starters, and our mains all arrived onetime Food was cooked to perfection. It was fresh, good-sized portions, and very tasty. The dessert trolley is an amazing idea, you get to see the dessert portions straight away and order as many as you like. Dessert was also lovely. My starter (ravioli) was cold, carbonara served to my Wife was made with ridiculously salty bacon (not pancetta as expected in nice Italian restaurant) but whole evening was let down by mains ! Amazing Italian food. Wanted a nice Italian restaurant whilst on a recent trip to Liverpool and definitely found it. The Lasagne was the best I've ever had and I do love a good Lasagne. Food was amazing, best pizza I've ever tasted. Whilst the service was good, this is the first restaurant I've been to where they have added their own service charge to the bill. All getting too Americanised for me. Even though I always do tip, a tip should not be expected and automatically added to the bill. They were very busy and managed to get us a table so that was great. They gave us incorrect drinks which I asked to be changed. The waiter was fine and apologised. We ordered and the food was pretty good. Not top notch Italian but we weren't expecting that. All in all was pretty good but maybe not up there for a special occasion. We asked for the bill and waitied a good 15 minutes and in the end just went down to the dedk to pay. It wasnt a major issue. Okay for casual fining.

We feel bad here, just finished our dinner. They forgot our starter bread but showed it on the bill. No one apologized for it. They also ignored our request for tap water. Service was excellent and I am rating my experience more than the food. Met an amazing local named Lauren right outside the restaurant who gave it great reviews. She then bought us Prosecco which was a wonderful surprise. Hope we get to meet her again someday. Restaurant manager came over to speak with us and was really friendly and welcoming. Dessert cart gets wheeled around and us very enticing.

We visited here on a Saturday, very busy indeed. The food was amazing, you could tell everything was home made. Also an open kitchen means you can see the chefs doing their work!! The service was extremelly fast even at full capacity, and the owner was lovely too. Prices fairly reasonable. Probably the best Italian restaurant in the centre of Liverpool. Would recommend.

A delightful family Italian restaurant that does a great job of making you feel like you’re really in Italy! Lovely food and the staff were lovely… although a little over the top and seemed confused as to who was serving who. But this didn’t ruin the visit for us. The pastas were delicious and tasted very fresh! Would also recommend the garlic bread.

I love this place. My favourite Italian. First went at Christmas and again yesterday. Food is fantastic. Good portions. Friendly staff, good service. Has a genuine authentic cosy atmosphere. I really like the desert trolley that gets pushed around, so you can see what you want and select. Will be a regular for us from now on.

Really tasty food, the tortelloni basilico was so good: hot, fresh and really cheesy! Dessert trolley was fun, so many yummy things to choose from and the crème brûlée cheesecake I had was delicious! Service was excellent and really quick. More

Good but didn't get my steak right, although they did offer to rectify. I ordered medium and it was over. My son enjoyed the scallop and prawn ravioli. King Prawn tampora was very good, the garlic bread was way too dense for my taste.

I love this place it feels like you are on holiday as it's roasting in there so don't wear a big jumper! The food is delishous and it's romantic and they do have nice wine so it's great for date night! Or just fun meals with friends.

This place is always fantastic whenever we are here, cosy atmosphere, service is continuously great and the food is always very delicious. Dessert especially which are brought round on a cart are exceptional.

Can't recommend this restaurant highly enough, had a wonderful lunch. Can't fault anything about it will certainly be going again .

They only get choices of spaghetti, fusilli, penne, I have tried the bolognese, the minced beef is over blended, sauce is soso nothing to shout about, soup is okay, £10 for a lunch set.
