I had sort of a bad experience here that made me not want to return. I was approached by an associate while I was shopping for my husband. He asked if I needed help, and I asked if they had an athletic wear section. He said yes, and then told me where the clearance section was. I found this offensive, maybe he didn’t mean it in that sort of way but everything he did after that let me know it was offensive. I felt like he was saying I couldn’t afford anything else. Anyways, I continue shopping in the mens section, and the man just follows me around it made me feel uncomfortable. Then he comes up to me as asks if I would like him to box up the items for me. I told him I was still looking and hadn’t made any final choices yet. He said that’s fine, he would hold the items at his counter. I said I would like to decide first (I wanted to find pants to go with one of the sweaters I was holding) and he said oh that’s fine I’ll hold them up here until you’re done. Then he just took the items from me and took them to his counter. I said ok well in that case I have other shopping to do in other departments it’s gonna be a while (because at this point I’m upset and I feel like he wouldn’t even let me make a choice of what I wanted to buy, or look at the items a little more so I could find matching pants) so I left the department to look elsewhere hoping the other associates weren’t so rude and judgemental. But honestly it made me so upset I ended up leaving 5 minutes later, and I don’t think I’ll return. I don’t know if he thought I was a thief or what, but taking the items from my hand was extremely rude, and directing me to the clearance rack was also pretty rude because of the way he said it, and his actions afterwards. He was an older white male with white hair and a black suit with white shirt working men’s department. He’s running people out of the store. Terrible experience but that’s fine, I’ll take my business elsewhere. 10/22/2022

I just had one of the BEST Customer Service experiences EVER today in the Fragrance Dept. at the Castleton Square Store!!! To be honest I wasn’t looking forward to my visit to the store today because I had to return a bottle of expensive perfume I received as a gift, however did not care for. Unexpectedly I was greeted by Delorise, a warm, courteous & professional representative in your Fragrance Dept.. Delorise is the friendliest and most informed representative I’ve ever encountered!!! Thanks to Delorise’s demeanor, a day I would have preferred to avoid changed my attitude, brightened my day and lifted my spirit. Due to Delorise’s pleasant and thoughtful demeanor I was able find a new fragrance I’m delighted with. Further, from this point on I will be shopping at Von Maur, no longer Nordstrom’s, and I will be seeking Delorise’s assistance when I shop for any fragrance. Delorise, thank you so much! I throughly enjoyed our time together and for exceeding my expectations. Mamie B.

Von Maur sold me a defective pair of women's KUT from the Kloth Dianna skinny jeans. Maybe they are 2nds, or just a bad batch, but the material is wearing out within 30 days of purchase. I've never seen anything like it, and I've owned several pairs of these jeans. I did not keep my receipt, because the jeans fit great, and I would have never imagined that they were going to start disintegrating in the next few weeks. Unfortunately, without a receipt the Von Maur associate refused to exchange the jeans for a new pair, nor would she offer ANY assistance at all. I'm out $110. Von Maur was one of the only reasons left for shopping at Castleton Square Mall, now that I know that they won't stand behind their merchandise, I won't bother shopping there again.

Amazing customer service!!!! We usually shop at the Von Maur in Greenwood, but we drove to Castleton Square for the Disney Store for our daughter. Disney apparently makes you pay for bags now... what the heck!? We went into Von Maur and immediately was greeted by an employee that said “let me guess you’re carrying your items because you just shopped at Disney?” She gave us a bag for our items that we didn’t even purchase there. We did end up purchasing a few things from Von Maur, but that’s why we continue to shop there... the customer service is amazing!!! Thanks for laughing with us about the Disney Store and reminding me why I shop with Von Maur!!!

This place is boojie AF. I wont even bother to mention the high prices because the good Lord knows I dont go there to buy anything. I go, dressed in the nicest outfit Costco can provide, and sit down in their fancy-pants furniture like a boss to feel rich. They LITERALLY had a young girl playing a grand piano under the circular rotunda in the middle of the store and a tiled changing table in the men's restroom... I didnt even get to see what was in the "women's lounge", but I'm half tempted to Bruce Jenner my way in someday to see what's behind the curtain. My guess is a private Starbucks/Panera and a shirtless male cello player.

Yesterday my husband had to replace a pair of dress slacks immediately. We were in Indianapolis on a business trip. One day before we left for our next destination. We were at the fashion mall stores and none of the stores were even vaguely helpful. I checked Google for other nearby department stores and struck gold. The gentleman in the men's department at Von Maur immediately understood our dilemma, found the dress pants in my husband's size, marked the length and called in a personal favor from the resident seamstress to hem the pants within an hour. The staff at Von Maur has set a new high standard for service.

Walked in today with my SO and i’m not sure what her name was; the blonde lady with the wavy hair working perfume in the mall entrance made us feel very uncomfortable and unwelcome. she also made a point to not address us as we left but made sure tell the two caucasian women behind to have a lovely day. I’ve been shopping at Von Maur for years and have never had a problem like this before. I don’t wanna speculate but to be honest it felt like blatant racism. I hate to say this but neither me nor my extended family will be returning.

The management is top notch and seems genuinely concerned about making sure your shopping experience is pleasant. The store manager Diane went above and beyond to correct an issue. Truly appreciate her professionalism and handling of the situation. Highly recommend shopping at Von Maur and I will continue being a loyal customer because I know that they value their customers and stand behind the quality of the products they sell. One of the few stores around that still cares about excellent customer service.

They had a great customer service window, I decided to exchange a gift I got for Christmas from here and they did it with no qualms. The reason I'm giving a three star rating has nothing to do with that. As I was going through the store deciding what I'd use the gift card on something really urked me... They has a live pianist playing in the center of the department store WHICH was lovely! However they had the audacity to pipe in generic pop music over the piano! What the heck? That's just really insulting!

Clinique counter not very informed nor seemingly willing to answer questions. I phoned in a pre-sale order and was told that a color must be discontinued because they didn't have it or it was a color that didn't sell well in their area. But didn't offer to find out for sure. I called Clinique direct to find its still available not discontinued, so I phoned Greenwood store, very helpful and strangely enough they had it! Must be a color that sells 25 miles away! What an ordeal.

Service like it was 1999. Sales people are there to help, they offer to assist, are knowledgeable, will box and wrap your gifts year around. Someone is often playing the grand piano in the center of the store. I understand that the store is still family owned. It shows. A real shopping experience -- if that matters and it does to me. We patronize the store in an effort to keep it open. I hope you will too!

Great service! The sales associates are very helpful, friendly, and professional. Von Maur has a terrfic atmosphere with a pianist playing the piano in the center of the store. Von Maur is hands down my favorite place to shop and I think it's the best department store in the mall! ALSO they offer an interest FREE Von Maur credit card!!! Does it get any better?!?!?!?

I have no idea how this place is still open, but I'm glad they are! I went to 5 other stores, tried 13 pairs of shoes when I decided to give the store across the parking lot a try. I walked right into the shoe department, was warmly greeted but not hounded and a salesperson was available as soon as I was ready... To find two pairs of boots. Well played, Von Maur.

They got the biggest selection of stride rite & see kai run. They got Steve Madden & sketchers for girls. It's never a wait to get shoes for kids.they have lots of sale items also. The staff is always kind. The bathrooms are usually clean & they have a nursing room. They got lots of Melissa and Doug toys in the kids section. I love this store for my kids.

Huge department store that has plenty to choose from. It is on the higher end comparable to Macy's as far as prices. My wife and I have a young daughter so we really appreciate the nice women's lounge for mothers to nurse their babies. We also have trouble finding a good place to buy children's shoes and this store has a huge selection to choose from.

Some of the prices are little too ridiculous for my wallet. However they do have a shoe closet that holds all of the discounted shoes. That area seemed very popular, there were women coming and going out if that closet. I thought that the ladies lounge was a bit too much. My friend went to the bathroom and she said that it was very nice and clean.

It's my go to and go through store . They have the cutest baby clothes. But each visit, its "hello, you hoo I'm here, a customer that need assistance." There is never an eye to eye moment, not until I utter the words "I would like this one, or I'll take two." Its not a comfortable or welcoming feeling. #justsaying

Made a return that took 25:00 because the associate failed to complete an important step that caused customer service to get involved. I was late for a very important meeting because of this!! Unacceptable!! Only giving it 2 stars because of Ms. Betty in c.s. otherwise, I would've given a zero!!

I love the space to look at clothing, things are not crowded on the racks. Nice atmosphere when piano is being played. No "game" with coupons. If they mark it down they do not mark it back up. Staff seems to want you there. They help you if needed. Just an overall good experience.

I shop here for presents for my wife for Christmas and her birthday. It's great because they have high quality, fashionable clothes. It's very different from the clothing you find at other stores. Also, the staff is very knowledgeable and helpful, and available!

One of the employees in the juniors area touch me without consent in the fitting room. Did not ask for her opinion on my dress and proceeded to tell Me it was “inappropriate in the chest” and pulled my dress up from the back. I felt extremely uncomfortable.

Been shopping here since it opened. Service above and beyond. And dont think you can't afford it. They just dont advertise sales....... Free gift wrap. They are the best at customer service. Oh and you can actually get fitted for a bra. Really.

I was able to return an item easily. The store is always beautifully decorated with adequate space between racks. My most favorite reason for 5 stars is when an item is on sale it stays marked down. Always a pleasure to shop there.

Lovely store, atmosphere is nice, even got a piano at the middle of the department store & toilet facilities are clean! They have a good variety of clothing but most are pricey for me. Its a great place to go when they have sale.

The customer service in the mens department is outstanding! The gentleman who helped me today literally took the pants off a manikin at my request because they were my size. Couldn't be happier I stopped in there today.

I think this place is overrated expensive and just a waste of time. You can order everything online in the same exact thing for cheaper. I don't even understand how these businesses stay in business.

The live pianist playing in the background, sets the stage for an enjoyable soothing shopping experience. Associates do not "hover" and give you space to browse, but are eagerly awaiting to assist.

I got a new suit there and they could not have been nicer. Nice selection and did a great job with the alterations. Needed it in a pinch too for a work function and they totally took care of me.

If you need help, this is the place to go. There are plenty of salespeople who know their stuff. Best customer service in Casteton Square Mall. They put all other department stores to shame!

Beautiful store. My wife bought a winter coat on sale that was less than coats at Macy's half off sale. That was a surprise. Also found a Fossil purse she loved after looking everywhere.

VonMaur is wonderful. Excellent customer service. Free gift wrapping. Nice restrooms. Lovely selection of brands, one of my favorites is 'Joules.' I always enjoy shopping at Von maur.

I’ve been going to Von Maur since 1992. I think their customer service is how imagined it used to be in the 1950’s, in an upscale department store. Unique and iconic styles, combined.

It was really well organized and really easy to find things. The restrooms were really nice and so was the woman's lounge room. Great place but the location wasn't great for me.

Had to get nicer shoes for an upcoming job and despite the limited inventory due to current events, I am quite happy with the shoes I bought.

I found a Free People blouse that was regularly$108 for $48, but the shoes, which I normally never leave the store without, were a horror!!!

Von Maur has brands I like. Allen Edmonds, Tommy John, Mack Weldon, Saxx, Smartwool to name a few. They’re customer service is exceptional.
