The Charles Holden designed 1930’s Art Deco styled building condensed to unadorned geometric shapes by the advent of WWII. The underground tunnels here repurposed as a pivotal wartime aircraft component manufacturing installation. Completed postwar ( on the cheap ) in 1947 with a stark exterior that anticipates the anonymity and precursor to Brutalism. Distinctive - conjures a tollgate portal to the Matrix.

Very well set up station. The only minus is that sometimes it gets overground in the morning - but we can't complain, this is London peak hour. On the other hand, there is a dry cleaning and a place to buy snacks and coffee. There is always a wind while going up the escalator which is kind of weird

Wanstead Underground station is served by the Central line its a nice station clean and tidy. There is a small sweet shop inside the station. There is no lifts at this station just escalators from the ticket hall to the platforms.

Like a country village in London. With two underground stations. (Snaresbrook and Wanstead on either end of the high Street) Pretty High Street, lots of places to eat (almost too much choice!) Lots of parks and nice people.

I think Wanstead station is okay Valantines mansion isn't far from there, also a half an walk to the actual location; i think it borders on Ilford, if I'm right? A great mansion house Also Reputedly to be Haunted'

Not a bad station - excellent access on the Central Line into Central London too. Unfortunately my only negative to report was the staff here, I unfortunately fount them to be very unhelpful which is a shame.

An OK station. No step free access to the platforms but the escalators that take you down are shorter than the norm. A few buses stop outside the station.

It's fine when it's open. Lately they have been closing a lot at 13:30 for "staff shortages" with no warning. It's like a village stop not a London one.

Well functioning medium size indoor tube station. Well maintained. It has a small shop inside and a paid car park outside. Central Line, Zone 4.

It is an okay station. It is easy enough to find your way around. I did not seem to see a lift or toilet faculty at the station.

Excellent Station, very easy to get to Centre London using central line.

Calm station with less people then Snaresbrook from my experience here
