Was meeting up with a gf and found this place on the map that was between her place and mine. Did not know it existed, but it was on her list of places to try. Lots of parking available. They have massive glass windows that let in lots of light and makes the small space feel even bigger. Counted the seats, can fit 32 people. They had tables set up for groups of 2 and 4. Plus two sets of leather chairs with a low table along the window. They had 4 high bar chairs available as well as a conference table type that could sit 8 people. Something different and I have not seen at another Café before. They have their own ceramic cups, saucers and plates along with monogrammed napkins and cold plastic cups. The design was simple and quite pretty. On the inside rim of the mugs it says Proudly Canadian, cute personal touch to add to their design. The white and specific shade of blue they chose reminds me of old school China cups. I ordered their Maple Macchiato and a Maple Danish. Asked that the pastry be heated up. My friend ordered a Decafe Latte and also a Maple Danish heated up. Both drinks were made promptly and we picked up the pastries shortly after. Our drinks were tasty but the Maple Danish took our hearts! It was amazing and I could have eaten four more. There was a good mix of people at the Café when we arrived. From solo people, to friends meeting up to catch up, a few people working on laptops and as we left five senior friends got together to enjoy some drinks and treats. Loved how much others enjoyed the space as well.

I personally had a great experience at Waves Coffee House. Their coffee and creative new ways to make lattes has enthralled me. I highly encourage Waves to keep going with their ideas. Their blue spirulina latte as well as their lavender latte were incredible! I want to rate them a five star just for the food. In terms of service, they are a self-serve cafe, there's no problem in that. Although, when we were done with our cups, we saw people leave their cups all around the coffee shop. It really was unappealing to the look and feel of the place. Secondly, it added confusion as to what I was supposed to do or where I had to leave my empty cup. I just went back to the counter to leave it. Most places, will leave a sign or let you know in order to make your experience easier. The other thing is, despite having such a large area, the ambiance did not have proper seating arrangements. There was a weird desk chair that's used in offices, at the table. I would say the design of the place as well as the aesthetic didn't really match the quality of beverages the cafe had to offer. Overall, I thought Waves was great. However, the ambiance could have been much improved.

I prefer going here because I want to support local but find the product a tad over priced, which I’m fine with as long as I get what I’m looking for. They have been “out of whip cream” for 2 weeks but then you mention that and suddenly they DO have whipped cream. When I mentioned this I was actually charged 30 cents more than I ever am for the same drink? I can’t see any other coffee house going without whipped cream without buying it from the store at least until their system works properly (I work at a restaurant and source from grocery stores if we can’t get that product or make it). The staff is mostly nice but has a couple unfriendly people mixed in. UPDATE: I’ve given the last $ I’ll ever give to Waves. Yesterday I ordered my usual iced mocha and it looks like they’ve switched from chocolate syrup to using powder. Not very smart to think powder is going to break down in a cold drink. I drank only half and threw out the rest as if was just gritty chunks floating around and getting stuck in my teeth, gross. A 7.20$ coffee wasted. Oh, and as of a couple weeks ago STILL no whipped cream. So disappointing.

After having a good experience once before we decided to come back with our daughter that needs gluten free options. This time, having a non greeting " what can I get you?"... we ordered. I asked for a separate gluten free strawberry cake from the back ( since the one in the case was on a display with a gluten cake) . Upon completing our order.. they forgot to make a latte and acted like it was our fault. Made it after everyone else's order.. even though the rest of our party was waiting for ours. The gluten free cake was frozen. After asking for a refund, was given a gift card.. then while having our drinks, we looked to see if the right amount was on the card.. only to find out it was empty... and as we were doing that... they came over after watching us and said they thought the gift card was empty, it was. Gave us another one with the right amount. Very disappointing experience.

Delicious coffee.. very limited gluten free options.
I was so excited to go there. Cuz I heard good things about that place. Let's talk about the people that works there. They're very rude, they are not friendly at all for customer service. And it doesn't not look that they want to stay there working on there. Expensive coffee for not a lot inside of the cup. I was very disappointed with the latte. It barely have anything in it just foam. And I bought one of the grounds coffee. I was very excited for this coffee. And I tried this morning. I don't know what to say about it. It stinks a lot, does noise smells right is not good. And also it got me I stomach poisonous. I spend the day puking. I definitely do not recommend that place. I would have given a zero star. Unfortunately does not exist that option.

Moved to Edmonton recently and was searching for local cafe near to my place…. I find good reviews of Waves coffee house so went their to try coffee two weeks ago n I honestly really like it so Today (10sept around 3pm) i took my husband to try their coffee shop but the staff today was different than that day and we keep standing their for 5 minutes both the lady dint bother to say Hi or give a smile they pass 2-3 times in front of us…. Warming up food. My husband ask me to leave but we wait n order…. Then the coffee today was so bad as if they never wanted to treat us….. I don’t think we should go their again if i saw those same ladies. Its a lesson that if that staff is rude the food will never taste good… Rather leave than wasting your money n time.

Such a cute little cafe! The place is modern, clean, and has a variety of items! I loved the lavender frapp- eh ($6.35) and the caramel frappeh was alright ($6.95). The lemon loaf ($4.25) was the best one we’ve ever had and we would definitely be coming back either to study with a tasty little treat, or to just hangout. We liked the unique menu!

I've lived in this area for 5 years and never been here until today. Will not be returning. I waited 10 mins for the girls to break up their socializing long enough to realize they had a line up. Just when I was about to walk out the door I got asked if I'd been helped yet. Rather dumb question. I wish I left because the 6.50 I spent on my tiny large chai latte was the biggest waste of 6.50 ever. I basically got warm milky looking water. This was my second Chai latte I have ever had and thank God it was my second because if it was my first, that would also have been my last. Need to kick those girls in the butt and retrain them. Maybe rehire because they sure aren't working. It took me almost 20 mins to get 1 drink to go. There was no line when I got in there.

Date of visit : 27th Mar.2017 time 6:00 pm Ambience and service is really important to me. I see big things in small details people pay attention too. Negatives : 1.Location: The website describes it as "in the heart of Edmonton", this is not true. It's way down South in a new under construction neighbourhood. 2. The toilet had no had no toilet paper 3. The Wifi wasn't working 4. Very inexperienced staff 5. 'Nothing ever happens here' kind of environment 6. Most snacks looked awful, probably sitting on display for days 7. Nothing classy, refined or high-end about it Positives - 1. No music so you can have a conversation in peace 2. The staff is respectful 3. Has a few straight back leather couches Verdict: It sits between Tim Hortons and Starbucks
If you have Extra Money Go & Dump it here, as I did this Morning $10.50 Wastage. I requested my Order to Barista for here (Dine In), but she Answer it's our company Policy we have to serve in Paper cups (Now this Franchisee or Entire Wave Coffee......??) And Wrap my Spinach Feta Bistro in Aluminum Foil (Soggy) Check their website and you will Amaze with the Pictures of Coffee & Bakery they Posted on, But What you get in Reality .... Shame! We have to Accept the Truth that Pandemic is over and we should back to our Regular / Routine Service as Post Pandemic, Don't Take Excuse of Pandemic for Ever Now!! So Please Stay Away you can better find coffee in Driver Thru of Tim's & MacD
We'll This was a very Disappointing Time today at the Establishment One of the Staff was very Unprofessional Loud and usually after our orders have been ordered the Very Friendly Staff will bring the Items to our Table and make us fell Great and Treat Us as Welcome Back Customers but not Today's Visit was very Disappointed with how one Staff employee was loud and showing Unprofessional Customer service. I hope in the Near future This will not Happen while Spending Our Time and Money for this Business because there is other places to go...

I wish I could give this place a higher rating. I come here EVERY day on a stroll through the neighborhood. Their products are awesome...food and beverage. However, their counter service leaves a lot to be desired. It feels like nobody really cares to serve their customers here. I have often waited at the till for 5 minutes or more waiting for someone to attend to me. Often times you don't even get a thank you before they're off and talking to someone at the drive through. I still make the journey as it's on my walk and the coffee is superb. But I have grown accustomed to the lesser customer service and don't let it take away from the coffee I take to go.
Ordered 2 drinks saw Barista mix up syrups and not heat milk through. Barista tried giving me a drink with pure sugar syrup after telling her I’m diabetic, ….drink gets remade and she once again put the wrong syrup in. Messed up fiancés drink on top of that. Didn’t offer to bother correcting or provide refund. spent 14.00 to get no coffee. Left extremely disappointed in service and quality and empty handed without coffee. Suggestion for next time, perhaps revue what customer ordered and not give a diabetic a drink filled with sugar when repeatedly asking for sugar free.

Atmosphere 5/5.. A spacious coffee house. There are 2-seater tables outside and they are “socially distant” from each other. I think this establishment has taken good precautions during the pandemic, including a dedicated entrance and a separate exit. Beverage 2/5.. This is the second time I’ve ordered a coffee or specialty drink here. Unfortunately, the expected flavour is just not there compared to other coffee places (e.g. Second Cup, Starbucks, Remedy). While I like to support the underdogs, I don’t know if I can justify paying more than $4 for a beverage that just doesn’t taste as good for the same product elsewhere.
I come here two or three times a week to study. It's a mellow location and pretty decent latte. Only one wall plug in, but if you sit by the front door and ask nicely, the friendly staff may allow you to plug your laptop in behind the counter. - lots of seating. - tasty food to accompany the coffee (sandwiches are good). - they offer a points based rewards program and you can load the points card with money like a gift card. Points can be redeemed for virtually anything they sell. - friendly and warm staff. Highly recommend if you're studying, having a Casual meeting, hanging out with friends, or planning an event.
Normally I love this place I always get the caramel frapp. However I came here June 12 ordered one it was so much coffee no caramel so we went inside to tell the barista he had put to much coffee he advised me that there are 4 other customers he can’t deal with his mistake, once asked who the manager is he changed his tune made another drink for me after completing someone else’s and about to start another had to remind him I am also a customer, however this drink was wrong as well at this point I had enough and left. I will not order from here again if he’s working. Or possibly never come here again.
I don’t know how this place is still in business. I’ve gone here a few times and talk about the worst service out there. The times I’ve walked in the staff looked upset that a customer walked in - even when the place is pretty quiet. It’s like I ruined their day when they have to do their job. From having to stand up and from sitting in the seating area and walk behind the bar, I don’t get it. Do not recommend - horrible service and their coffee and food is meh best.

Came 4:15pm on a Tuesday... They only had one person working and they have a drive through... Wait was a bit longer than I would expect, I asked to go, gave me stay in, lineup got longer just as I was leaving... Recommendation to the owners, if you have a drive through maybe have 2ppl minimum working especially as people are getting off work. Latte was alright, would rather go to starbucks to be honest. Took some explaining to the barista that I wanted him to use heavy cream instead of milk as he told me initially I can add cream for free... Probably won't be coming back.
First time here. Service was great, coffee was fresh, and there were two gluten-free desserts to choose from. I had the strawberry cake that had real whipped cream; it was very tasty. The other choice was carrot cake.

Had a great time here. The service was great, even though the wait was a bit long it was totally worth it. And it was a bit loud in there, but that seemed only to be due to there being a rather large family there at the same time as us. Very busy place. Super delicious food and coffee. I had never heard of this place before and I just happened to park here while I was visiting a pet store beside it. I was quite impressed when I went outside and found that there was a lot of teas, coffees, and treats. They also have a selection of other small gifts to take home. They also have another store on the West end. The iced tea was actually iced tea, and not some sugar water that most places have (Not that there wasn't sugar in this tea, But you could actually taste the tea which is why I order iced tea).
My boyfriend and I went to get drinks and a breakfast sandwich. He ordered an iced drink, but they accidentally gave us a hot one. When we told the person working the drive thru she seemed annoyed having to take the drink back. Expected them to remake it, but all they did was transfer it in a different cup and put ice in it. The drink was so watered down and wasn’t even cold, total waste of $8.

Well ! I understand that they offer nice varieties of drinks . But I can't see a menu that explains different type and photos of each drink . The information on the board is far away from sight , its hard to read them they are all without photos ! They ask me to go through my phone and search for their menu that's ridiculous. Corona is over guys , you should provide your Ipad if you want to go paperless . The settings area is not cozy at all and I end up setting in broken chair. This can be improved .
Dinks are sooo good and love going here, although they never ever get my drinks right. Seems to be the same barista every time unfortunately. If you have allergies I would not recommend this place. Especially when it comes to milk alternatives, if you have a good palate and can tell the difference give it a sip before you leave but for me I can’t tell and just know when my stomach is exploding unfortunately dealing with it again :(

If you like coffee try some place else. The staff is undertrained, non courteous on multiple visits. I would prefer Tim Hortons coffee over this place and I never go to Tim Hortons for coffee. If you’re going to be a specialty coffee shop, you need to have multiple options, multiple espresso options. Very subpar and below average.

I really want to support local independent shops. Puzzled by the good reviews. Yes, it is quiet, but that’s because little traffic and poor location and lack of good signage. Don’t expect fresh baked stuff..or good service. Never got a thank you for ordering. Inexperienced or they just don’t care about good customer service. Never see anyone in the Drive Thru and I’m surprised they are still around. Gave it a chance, but won’t be back.
Quite a quaint little coffee place close to my place. I visited this place after a long time. It definitely didn't disappoint us. The service was extremely friendly, the coffee was delicious, the location is perfect. I should be visiting this place more often and try out the other items on the menu.

It's unsettling going to coffee shops and seeing staff touch the order/payment terminals, handle cash and then proceed with making drinks, etc. No hand washing or putting on gloves. They steam the milk, and wipe the steamer with what looks like a dirty rag with their UNWASHED hands. That is an absolute breeding ground for germs and bacteria. Does anyone take food safety training before working there? Please do better!

Absolutely disgusting. Calzone was worse than a frozen pizza puff. Maple machiatto way too sweet and watery. Latte also was too sweet - why is there even any sweetener in a latte!? Honestly there is no passion or care in this restaurant. It is reflected tremendously in the quality of the food. Most disgusting breakfast I have ever had. What a bad way to start a good day.
Terrible customer service and average coffee/food. Me and husband went there on 13th Nov around 5pm (our first and last visit) and told the lady that we wanted to stay but she still gave us take out cups. She seemed to be in hurry for closing and did not want to give us other cups. We were disappointed and decided to tru other local coffee shops and pass this one.
Prices were alright and the coffee was fine. They made our order incorrectly but fixed it immediately. Service was lovely and the cafe was simple and nice.

They have good coffee, lot's of options and the food is very good! I think the service can be improved for the drive-thru, it's very odd to go to a coffee shop and not be asked how your day is, or simply say "have a good day". A smile goes a long way in this type of business! I actually stopped going here because I felt the service was lacking.
The cake I got was dried out and stale. It was obvious that it was a GF cake from superstore. The chai, I was told had no caffeine Never hear of chai lattes that were caffeine free, but I took one. She warmed up a premix, from a jar to lukewarm. $14 later, I know I'll never return!

Friendly staff and good food. They have a wide selection of teas, and you can smell them before choosing. Their coffee drinks are good as well, especially their mochas (both hot and iced), which are extremely chocolatey. The decor is nice and the cafe is quiet and cozy - a good place to read, study, or get some work done.
Comments complaining about service/ decor are hard to understand. This place is one of the last good coffee shop chains that isn’t Starbucks. They make incredible frappés and service is great, this will become your go to if you give it a try, been coming here for 10 years+ Recommend the Espresso Frappé with yogurt …

Coffee taste is average. Hope they use other coffee from different suppliers. They don’t have many food options. The menu is limited. The best thing about this coffee shop is the atmospher. You can study, chat with friends or have you coffee alone. I will visit it again and I recommend you all to give it a try.
They changed the credit card machine to ask for tips on drive-through orders. Everyone is tired of businesses doing this and I won't be patronizing them any more. Too bad - this Waves has friendly staff and makes good rooibos lattes.

It's a very quite place. Not busy at all. Staff are friendly. I have been a big waves cafe fan since Vancouver has a lot of such Cafes. Great part is you can get dark chocolate hot chocolate! Its actual chocolate they put, not the syrup! I wish they would spend some money on the furniture as it seems worn out.
I am only writing about cappuccino I had from Waves Coffee House. The atmosphere and staffs were awesome. Cappuccino I had was decent but nothing special, little too acidic for my liking. My hunt for a good coffee place is still on its journey. (Note that I usually like coffee beans from Mexico and Columbia)
Was in the store on February 2, 2016. The bathroom was dirtier than a truck stop... Horrible! The place where you put cream in your coffee was covered in drips and dried up coffee, and the floor in the restaurant was like a gravel pit. How this place can pass any cleanliness inspection is beyond me.
Super cute cafe with fun drink options. I had the watermelon matcha latte iced and it was yummy, tasted like summer, interesting flavour combo but I enjoyed it. My friend got the blue spirulina and it was also nice! Interior was also beautiful.

Great coffee and energy in the Cafe! Great service my employees also. Definitely needs undated seating (ripped vinyl chairs) looks very tacky and unclean. Would love to some seating with table for 2 vs just little round tables pushed together. Otherwise still a great place to meet up with friends!

It could use an overhaul in terms of seating. The chairs around the big table and creaky and rocky. I like to come here and study on the big table, however the seating is pretty uncomfortable and the table itself seems worn and out of place. The drinks and food are fine. The staff is amazing.
The staff is friendly, the prices are also fair. Very good is they offer real mugs and not only to-go cups. It is overall a nice cafe, good for chilling. They offer refills, not for free though. I can definitely recommend going here if you want to spend some time. Free wifi is included.
Best cafe in the southside. Their Matcha is suepr good and in my opinion, better than Starbucks. the staff are nice and the cakes are delicious. IF you ever get the chance to try the Mango cake, pounce on it.

I'll be honest, I went because I needed caffeine and had a coupon for a free coffee that came in the mail. It's so cute in there!!! And the coffee was just drip but it was good quality and didn't taste like burnt tar. I will be coming back to try the lavender Leche …
Very friendly staff, very good at their jobs. Their mochas with a Belgian chocolate (you can choose which one) keeps bringing me back. I would double check the roasting date for the coffee beans before buying, I just picked up a bag that was roasted about half a year ago.

Great coffee shop. They have a cute little patio with some outdoor seating and I phoned ahead to make sure my dog was welcome there. Great coffee and friendly staff. Would recommend the Lavender Leche latte!

Great place to have a hot drink..I had the London Fog ! ..must try !?.. Great rest stop.. after a long walk .... bathrooms very clean and Covid safe , coffee shop Lovely Staff , happy and very friendly On sunny day few tables/chairs outside G&T
Terrible service! Ordered delivery as we like to support local businesses. They cancel the order saying they’re “too busy” to complete our order. If you are too busy to complete our order today we will support other local cafes instead from now on.
Great environment to have a chat with a friend or get some work done. And they have some diverse options and non- dairy alternatives which I appreciate but if I'm being honest their brewed coffee is not very good. But the lattes etc are excellent.
Product: the latté here is on par with any chain that has an exclusive focus on coffee, if not a bit better actually. Service: my man was so personable I thought he was the franchise owner actually... But no I guess he's just happy to work there.
My boyfriend ordered me a coffee we left I took a sip and it was a cup of pure steamed milk. Brought it back got the coffee, ordered a muffin left and it was frozen. Won't be back very disappointed order a $3.40 muffin for it to be frozen.
Nice, calm, quiet place to enjoy a coffee and a variety of exotic teas--smell blends before your buy! They have a conference table with office chairs in the middle so patrons can hold business meetings or class project sessions with ease.
I love their ambiance and coffee. Everything feels high quality and worth the money they charge you. Although their samosas have no taste and texture, this is still my new go-to cafe.

We had been to Waves about 10 years ago and were not impressed. Today we decided to have coffee there again. What a change (we had no idea it was under new oenership), the coffee was hot and tasted amazing. Thanks Kayvan We will be back
Its expensive but they have a nice lounge and good tasting coffee. My mom gets a headache from it but I like it. The coffee leaves a chocolate aftertaste which leaves you wanting more. Again, its expensive and only can get one.
Our go to for coffee in this area! My favorite is the iced maple macchiato. The staff are always friendly. Make sure you download the App for rewards points/offers (I only discovered it recently). Free drink on your birthday!
Love the vibe and the drinks are great. Could have a bit more selection but what they do have is high quality and well made. They have some awesome specials too. Def reccomend giving it a shot. Love the roiboos ice tea !
Coffee is not bad, but drive through is so slow!! Even there was only one car ahead of me, it takes 8 minutes waiting time, made my appointment delayed! If you need a coffee in hurry, please go anywhere but not WAVES!
Very friendly and helpful staff, good matcha latte, warm and fresh yummy muffins, lots of natural light, clean and neat, quiet in the morning even with the drive through! Music was a little dated for my taste …
Great place to meet up with a few friends or take my kids for a cookie and hot chocolate. The decor is bright, the staff are welcoming and friendly, and I really like that there are a lot of comfy leather chairs.
This is a franchise, not sure if it’s local but they do serve a good espresso and excellent tea selection. Great place to have meeting with wifi available. The staff are very friendly and fast service.
Fantastic customer service and my drink was perfect! My favorite hot beverage so far is the Lavender Leche, just the right amount of lavender

Good coffee, but inadequate seating capacity on a busy day. They could use more space by rearranging the furniture. Owner should look at the upholstery tearing and fading. Staff was good though!
I like their vanilla lattes. The cake pop was disgusting. Pretty sure it was just dough covered in chocolate. Perhaps no adult has tried one since it’s sprinkle-covered. That didn’t deter me.
Slow service, wrong order total, mocha was not hot, chairs all over the place. The chocolate croissant was good. The wifi was not working. Wash room is not clean and mold in several area.
Nice comfortable, large space, lots of tables allow social distances. Enjoy the tea and sausage egg muffins, matcha tea and toast bagel. Recently renovated, more tables, better alignment.
We come here several times per week. Staff is super friendly, service is prompt, and the drinks taste great. It's really nice having an alternative to Starbucks in this area of town.
They have poor seating. Very small tables and not very many. Wanted to dine in however there is only 5 tables so we had to leave

Love everything about this coffee shop except the temperature. The air conditioning is too cold, even on cool weather days.

Really disappointed. Had coupon for a cheesecake slice, when I got there I was told they don't have cheesecake, even though its advertised on the waves coffeehouse online menu.
I love their lattes and specialty drinks. I've never been inside.

Great tea here. The furniture is a little worn with lots of tears in the vinyl but it's a cozy place nonetheless. Staff were nice and it's in a great location. Will come again
The inside is always clean and very inviting. The staff are very nice and fast. Haven't tried the food, but it looks quite good. Just not a fan of their regular roast coffee.
Best place for group study and good coffee
