Extremely unprofessional with no regard for clients' property. We had roof that had been damaged by the winds causing internal leaks through the wall and through 2 levels. The estimator did not even walk inside the house but rather looked from outside the home and stated that the damage was due to poor workmanship! I brought 2 professional contractors and both did not support this claim. The claim was hanging for over 15 days in a rainy season. Finally, we tore down the wall and rebuilt everything on our own! Wawanessa will take care and smile at your money and walk away when there is any trouble! Put money aside instead and once an unexpected strike just use this fund to repair the damage. This is our persona (not the first one unfortunately) experience and I hope not every one had the same.

Awful experience during the claim process. My adjuster was quick to anger and very argumentative. Ended up trying to strong arm me by saying if I tried to negotiate my claim, he would flat out deny it. This cut the legs out from under me during the claims process but after a lot of fighting and a few weeks I was able to get a couple more items covered (but nowhere near what I thought should be covered). The rep also took the opportunity to scold me for submitting a claim and lecture me on why I was in the situation that I was in. These guys operate more like the mafia than a reputable insurance company.

Please use a magnifying glass to read the fine print of your home insurance especially when it comes to add-ons like equipment break down (personally it's not worth it to get any add-ons as it's a catch 22). My claim left me thinking if I should just pay for my $5000 AC replacement as opposed to the $1400 I was given by Wawanesa after the claim was made because now I have lots my claim-free discount which makes my premium go up. At the end of the day no one gives you more money than they take from you.....thats just what insurance is!

Very slow service.Once you do get an adjuster , they are obliging however numerous calls must be made to get situations remedied.It has been a year and a half and my claim has still not been completed.I fully understand that with Covid, fires in BC and now flooding there has to be some time adjustments but this has gone beyond acceptable.Again, all the staff I have dealt with have been very kind and knowledgeable from the ladies who work at reception to upper managers.It has now almost 2 years and the bathroom is still not done.

Just switched insurance companies after 20 years with the same company. Wawanesa insurance saved me $700 and is a comprehensive package!! Very happy! Have heard nothing but upstanding comments from current clientele. Quick and easy claims, hassle free. Hope I never need it, but good to know they won't give me the run around, if I do!

Decent however if you write off your vehicle do not I REPEAT, DO NOT GET A RENTAL COVERED WITH YOUR PLAN. They blatantly lie about how many days you have covered in the rental and will wait till your a week over the actual alloted time to tell you about it. Then of course blame it on you when their adjusters are the ones lying.

Save your money and go with a difference insurance company. Terrible home insurance if you need a claim. It's taken them 1.5 years to fix something minor. Finally coming tomorrow.... claim opened jan 2021
