After having detailed my initial chance encounter with Wayback Burgers on the Kirkbridge location, I'm happy to report that they have heeded the advice I left in my review of it and opened this one (and have since gotten a Portage location opened up too). Now you can save yourself the BLUE transfers. It's clear that there was a bit of pent-up demand in the general area as there was a strong crowd of both diners as well as others waiting to head out the door. In the opening days it definitely appeared that there were some growing pains as it's obvious judging from some of the other reviews shortly after it opened that not every experience was going as well as it could have been. But hey, that's part of the point of a reviews section like this one, and it seems a year on that those pains have been ironed out. Just like with the Kirkbridge location, be prepared to wait - that is one of the house rules after all. But if you're on a tight schedule, they do have online and over-the-phone ordering, plus they also support pickups through SkipTheDishes, Uber Eats, and DoorDash. They definitely have no trouble having orders ready at or even a short bit before a scheduled time. Speaking of those three sites, while yes there is a markup on items going through them, it's actually very modest to the point that it may end up being only a buck or two extra in total even if you get a few things, which is very respectable given other chains' eagerness to hike pricing and implement bloated delivery markups. By comparison, in the time that I've been eating from Wayback, they've only bumped pricing exactly once. One observation I will make about the fries, they seem to be pretty light on salting them here. They're fine as it is, but you may want to consider grabbing a salt packet or two as I find it helps make them taste a bit better still.

I was at the office next door not at Wayback Burger, I will never eat at that location again. Previously I ordered their veggie burger, and told the girl at the order counter I cannot have beef because of a protein/enzyme in the meat for health reasons. As I was watching the cook placed my burger on top of a raw burger he had on the grill and proceeded to rub my vegetarian burger in the meat flipping it over to rub both sides on it, and the same in the grease from the cooking burgers...a girl made out I was being difficult when I complained and that I should have mentioned my health issue to the other girl when I ordered. I had told the girl I had a health issue right when I ordered so this pissed me off so much. I made them cook a different vegetarian burger away from the meat grill as I had already prepaid... be it health or values the disrespect of deliberately contaminating a burger like that has made up my mind I will not be going back to eat there! I was visiting the office next door this week and did go into Wayback burger. Won't be surprised if someone else gets a reaction to beef contamination in the future because of the wanton contempt by the cook to think he has a right to roll a meatless order in raw meat that was not yet cooked and while cooking. They had the nerve to say others ordering meatless don't mind their veggie burgers being in contact with the meat...I have not been back since that happened

Had dinner here on a Friday and there was a long line which was a sign that the food here is good right? Surely all these people wont que in line for 30 mins or more for an average burger….. surely not….. but unfortunately the long que and wait is not worth it. The burger is ok, it was not bad but not good as well, it was kinda bland, unseasoned. the cheesesteak had so little beef on it and the cheese was not even melted, the worst thing is the fries that came with my classic combo were soggy! I think only the onion rings were good but the serving size was too small. Also tried the Oreo Mud Pie milkshake and it was good but too expensive for what you get. For my money I would rather spend it at Five guys, Nuburger or Whitestar. Edit: Aug 5,2022 - Had lunch here with a group, 8 of us in total. Wanted to check out if things have improved now that they had time to settle in and Wayback Burgers Regent did not disappoint, we all had double bacon cheeseburger with fries and drinks and not only was the meal superb it was also served super fast for such a big order. Definitely a huge improvement and if they can consistently provide this quality of food and superb service I will now recommend this joint as a must try in the area.

I have been waiting months for this place to open and had some reservations as I had talked to a few friends and their opinions were that it wasn't that great. Had my my first time there yesterday and got their version of a classic burger loaded with absolutely everything including jalapenos and mushrooms. I have to say, it was layered perfectly, meat was well cooked. The flavours were on point and the burger stayed together incredibly well considering the size and number of ingredients it contained. I was very impressed with the buns they use and burger was wrapped up nicely and intact when I pulled it out of the bag upon returning home. I also got the loaded bacon fries and loved the amount of toppings included. The burger was so good, I literally forgot to take a picture of it for this review. I now believe I am addicted and will be returning again today to explore other options on their menu. I love the fact it's so close to where I live. In conclusion if you haven't treated yourself to this place yet, I recommend you check it out!

Wayback Burgers is a new-to-Transcona chain restaurant with a clean atmosphere, friendly staff, and a small, curated selection of menu items, focused on (you guessed it) burgers. Staff greet you at the door with a shout from behind the counter, which must have been inspired by some sort of study because that particular greeting at the door has been on the rise for a couple years now. It's not a good vibe and I wish it would stop. The burgers themselves are... okay. The small differences between Wayback's four heavy-hitters aren't particularly noticeable, and while filling, lack a depth of flavour you might hope for from beef and bacon. The sides are reasonably portioned and the milkshakes, which are served by the pint, might be the only real reason to order from here given the multitude of burger joints in the area. The takeaway: I won't be feeling nostalgic for Wayback's burgers, but might stop in if I get a craving for some of their chips or a milkshake.

It’s hard to find fault with any place that has hand made burgers, not some frozen hockey puck that some places try to pass off as food, Wayback is the real deal! Incredible burgers with incredible taste! Great onion rings and French fries that are off the scale! In all an incredible dining experience! The service was awesome, Jackie and the team here were extremely pleasant and easy to deal with but most of all they seemed to really care about the quality of the good and the service which was wonderful! The food was decent. The onion rings and hamburger burger felt like these 2 items didn't work well together in a burger. As j was biting, the soft and tasty burger bun was interrupted by a hard onion ring filling. My partner got a phylli cheese combo and man... it was dry. Dry to the point that my partner and I didn't want to continue eating it. I saw my burger being cooked as I was curious, but the cook has grabbed new, raw, and uncooked burgers to place it right beside my beef burger meat and actually touched my burger (while on the grill..). Since the beef burger was still on the grill, I didn't say anything else. But still, food safety and raw meat contamination is a serious thing. There was unlimited refill of soft drinks, so that was really nice.

I made a grave mistake of not ordering my toddler her own milkshake. I got one for the first time to try but she didn't want to share. When I finally got my first sip... THESE ARE INCREDIBLY DELICIOUS!!! A buddy of mine raved about this place. Now I totally get why. If Five Guys ans A&W had a baby, that's what you taste in their delicious juicy burgers! I had some night last night that I needed to treat myself and my family of 3 since I've been busy preparing for thr Holiday Season. Momtrepreneur life. While I don't recommend eating this every single day of your life since you'd get burgered out, this is definitely worth trying and worth having once in a while! We will definitely come back to eat-in and hang out.

I was there yesterday, after someone told me how good the milkshakes are. I had a burger with bacon and cheese. It was very good. The fries were good and plentiful, BUT the chocolate milkshake was the worst I've ever had and I've tried many all over the US & Canada. There was no chocolate or ice cream in it. It's a synthetic milkshake, which is a blend of ingredients and certainly no flavour of chocolate. I left 90% of my "milkshake". My friend said the same for her strawberry milkshake. I'd go back for another burger though.

Great place fresh food and cheaper than 5 guys. Great milkshakes, chips and the chicken sandwich is to die for! Burgers so juicy All staff including Nicole and Jaycie are amazing making sure your happy. Place is super clean and friendly atmosphere good parking. We live 25 miles away and it’s worth the trip. Can’t go every day but when we are in the city. It’s a must stop. You won’t be disappointed Highly recommend We’ll be back ! Ten stars if I could !

The service, the look and cleanliness of the restaurant were great. I don't really understand what makes the food or restaurant "Wayback" though. The burger was okay. The bun and the patties were good but the overall flavor wasn't good for me. The tomatoes tasted and felt like they were soaked in water. Same tomatoes in the salad I had, which was just lettuce, large pieces of cut up onion and these soggy tomatoes. Maybe I will try the fries next time and they will be better then the salad.

My wife and I went there to waste an hour between our son's basketball game nearby. The reviews we heard weren't favorable but it was close so we decided why not? Good decision! First time trying Waybacks thanks to a family member telling me about it.... Definitely not disappointed! The service was great she knew the menu well and helped decide on some great food. Couldn't order online. They wouldn't answer the phone for 15 minutes (tried 6 times). So we went down to order. From ordering, took 30+ minutes for my pickup order to be ready. For 1 burger. Prioritized the door dash orders over mine. Burger was only ok. Really annoyed because after waiting 10 minutes, asked for ETA, said it would be 5-7 minutes. It was another 20+ minutes. Burger wasn't worth the wait.

Nice to see Wayback Burgers has come to Transcona. I came across this new location while cycling around and decided to try them out, the Chili Cheese Fries were very good. Also noticed they had some beer taps installed, but they weren't selling beer yet. Very friendly service and very nice clean restaurant.

First time going to restaurant. I was impressed on how crisp the lettuce was on the burgers. You can tell that the burgers were made with care and not just slopped on. We had ordered the classic burgers with all the fixings. The chilli cheese fries was great as well. Milkshakes are to die for..nice and thick. We had the chocolate and vanilla. Definitely going back there again The restaurant is a great addition to the area!!!!!

My hamburger looked really good, except the lettuce was super wet and tasteless. My mom's chicken fingers wet pale and soaking wet with oil and Wayback did not ask or provide dipping sauce. The casher did not give us our drinks until we went and ask. This was our first visit at this location. More

I found the patties on the thinner side. It was tasty but not a filling burger. I enjoyed the milkshake. Also got Irish nachos, was disappointed I was expecting fries not chips. Plating was odd with everything separate. Staff wasn't that friendly.

Can’t believe how disappointed we are in the new Wayback on Regent! We ordered a Full French Fry, and a double bacon cheese burger… and it was terrible. The fries were half full in the small container and there was nothing to the burger. We don’t recommend at all.

Very impressed with this place! So we discovered them on Skip and tried them out. We got a classic burger combo and spicy chicken burger combo. Fries and rings, milkshakes. All great! We ordered on a week night when it wasn't too busy.
