I just visited We Luv Video when I was visiting Austin for the day. I had read about the place, and how they closed down and then reopened with support from the local community. I was not disappointed. I felt like a little kid again as I walked around and looked at their enormous collection of VHS and DVDs. The place was full of awesome movie memorabilia and had a theater for weekly film screenings. If I lived in Austin, I would come here regularly. They had a movie exchange/donation thing where you could pick out a random movie wrapped in paper with a "clue" written on it. I picked up a couple for my movie geek friends. I'm so glad I stopped in here. I will definitely go back the next time I'm in Austin.

We've been coming in weekly since they opened, picking a random/ridiculous title, and enjoying every minute of it! There are lots of staff picks to choose from, and the movies range from cult/unknown to Hollywood blockbusters. Now we just have to figure out of we can get our VCR to work so we can start renting in VHS, as well!

This is what I imagine “old Austin” felt like, and it’s great. The selection of media is incredible and the staff is very friendly. The projection room is small and I think I would really enjoy a film on the very short side as when I visited there was no AC.

While the store hasn't officially opened as of this review, the volunteer experience to prepare for launch has been A++! Great group of folks running this show, cool space, and so. Many. Movies. The Luv is real!!

I love what they have done with the space and this is such an exciting nonprofit. The theater room is fantastic and they have such a wide variety of films to choose from. Physical media is back, baby!

This place is what Austin is all about. I Luv Video, resurrected, into an amazing community space full of film lovers. Come support this gem and help us clutch to the last weird bits of Austin!!!

Fun place to look thru old movies and get a hand-picked DVD selection from the staff. They screen movies in the back of the shop but the schedule is TBD.

Insanely huge and expertly curated video collection. Very reasonable membership fees. Volunteer and enthusiast operated. Knowledgeable and helpful staff.
