2 reasons why I'm never going back 1) I missed an appointment because my grandfather passed away that morning, I did not want to go for a cleaning and wanted to be with my family to mourn the loss. I was unable to give 24 hours notice (but I still called a couple hours before the missed appointment), even though I explained what happened and offered to show them the obituaries, they had no sympathy or understanding for what had happened and charged me $75.00 for the missed appointment. I understand the no-show fee but feel that sometimes things happened that is out of the customer's hands and it's not always fair to be charged that. But I guess they need my $75.00 instead of showing any compassion for someone who just lost someone. 2) I booked another appointment for a cleaning after that. It just for the feeling I was wasting their time. The dentists (which was barely for 5 mins) and the dental hygienist. I get it I'm the last appointment for the day. (I booked because I was on mat leave and had to wait for my husband to come home from work to watch my 2 months old.) But for the arm and the leg it cost to visit any dentist, I would still hope for friendly service. But that was too much to ask for. I found them rushed, the Dentist more so then the hygienist. But I left feeling that I was waiting there time. I paid my bill and told myself I am never going back! I'm not waiting for a strike three. I found another great dentist where the staff is all very happy and friendly.

I would like to share my experience with parents who have kids with tongue ties. When my child was born, the paediatrician told me that Lucia had tongue tie. She mentioned it was mild so no need of cutting it. It appeared that Lucia had troubles feeding, gaining weight and sleeping for 6 weeks so I decided to go to West Market dental for a second opinion. The reception team got me in within 1 day for a tongue tie release consult. We talked to Dr.Faisal Assad who took the time to assess Lucia, to explain to me the condition and what to expect the following weeks. After the assessment, he did the same day the laser release of the ties ( which were moderate to severe and not mild!!) He warned me, since day one, that the rehabilitation journey will not be easy and it will be painful for the 3 first weeks. He was right, It was heart breaking to see my new born crying of pain every time I had to do the stretches 4x/day for 2 weeks then 3x/day for the 2 next weeks. It got better at week 3 (every kids is different) I thank Dr.Faisal Assad so much for being straight with me and told me it was going to be hard but worth it. Today, she had gained her weight back, she is eating well and the ties did not reattached and are healed! I can't thank him and his team enough for the great experience and honest opinion. I highly recommend this service with Dr. Faisal to parents who have to get this procedure done for their kids. Lucia is healthy and I am a happy mom today.

Five stars with one minus. Overall, great service. The good: knowledgeable and professional dentists and hygienists; very clean and well equipped office, complete with a wide variety of refreshments for clients; virtually no waiting; treats for kids at the end of their appointments. The minuses: one of the front desk members, who has a condescending attitude, both in person and on the phone; there were several incidents last year where we had paid for the services at the end of the appointment, but still got a call asking to settle. It all was cleared up in the end, as we keep the receipts, but it was disruptive, and I must say, irritating, as it wasn’t handled very professionally (the person on the phone again sounded condescending, and entitled). One thing the front desk staff should keep in mind is that they are the “front of the line” and the “first and last impression”. And that their client base is predominantly professionals and their families, who are paying large amounts of money for the services (whether it be through insurance or otherwise), and who deserve to be treated with respect. I would still highly recommend the office, as what matters in the end is the quality of dental and hygiene treatments, which are top notch.

It was a total fluke to find this office close to my home and after my impressive no pressure and educational consultation I had a couple of weeks ago, I decided to get my work done at with Dr. Peter Lam and I've had 2 visits since then. I love the work that Dr. Peter Lam does, so much so that I'm getting everything done before I move out of the country and when I need work done I will fly back just to see him. Dr. Lam is honest, his work is amazing and his assistants are very friendly and gentle and he's not out to just make bank. He actually takes the time to educate you and give you honest advice and different options that are suitable for your situation. Because I do not have any benefits from work as I am self-employed, and because of the initial consultation I had, it wouldn't have mattered what the price was going to be for my work. However, if you check their pricing on their website and compare it to other offices, they will be worth the drive wherever you are in the city!

Dr. Sean Pack is a renown dentist. He is easily distinguishable by being very thorough in his approach in treating and caring for his patients. He manifests good technical knowledge and always comes up with different options for your treatment. The pros and cons are explained to you very carefully keeping in mind what you require. However, as an excellent professional, he makes you choose. He takes time to explain the entire procedure to you at the outset, patiently requesting if you have any questions all the time. He always exhibits a gentle, warm and caring attitude to his patients. You can be assured of no pain during any procedure. He is very confident in what he does and you can be certain if he says it will take two hours the clinical process will be completed in that time frame or less and that too with utmost care and perfection. He directs his team of hygienist, front desk staff with kindness and they in turn are motivated to give their best to patients.

They really care about you here. I went in for an appointment and had a medical emergency the previous day, so was not feeling up for my scheduled root canal. After I told them how I was feeling they said no problem we will schedule you next week and not charge you a cancellation fee. I was so grateful to not have a cancellation fee. The week after, went in for the dreaded root canal and he inspected my tooth and yes the tooth was healthy enough that we did not have to perform the work. AMAZING!! He could have done the root canal anyway and collected the money for it , but told me truthfully that the tooth was getting better. They also did not charge me for anything that day since I didn't do a root canal but did do an xray and some other tests. I love this place and will forever trust the good judgement from the medical professionals here. Thank you West Market Dental for truly caring about me as a person.

Dr. Peter Lam is a wonderful dentist. My daughter needed several long-rooted baby teeth pulled to make room for emerging permanent teeth. Over a couple of sessions, Dr. Lam removed the teeth, not only smoothly and painlessly, but without frightening my little girl with large needles or blood. (He used an angled needle so she didn't even see it.) She never showed any reluctance to go to the dentist afterward, and 15 years later, my kids and I are still patients. As for the dental clinic as a whole, the dental hygienists have good technique (seriously, I didn't know painless flossing was possible before I came here), and the front staff are quick, competent and friendly. Plus, they offer direct transmission of dental claims to insurance companies. This is simply the best dental clinic I've been to.

March 2021 update: Recently, I had to do a dental procedure that required several visits. Dr Peter Lam performed the work and went above and beyond to ensure it was done perfectly. He did not rush to get the job done and you could tell he genuinely cares for the health of his patients. I was very impressed and would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a dentist who takes pride in what he does. I have been going to West market dental for many years now and the experience has been excellent. I always thought scaling was supposed to be painful until I started coming here. The hygenists care and take pride in their jobs. Dr Peter Lam takes the time to talk to his patients and he is very detail oriented and very good at what he does. I would definitely recommend this practice.

I did have good experiences in the past, but recently I called in to book a cleaning. I don't have insurance, and I had hard time trying to get a quote for cleaning as it depends on the amount of work. I do understand that. Then I was told I had to pay over $90 for a mouth check up (annual) just like that. Since I don't have insurance, I only visit the dentist when I have a concern, so to pay an extra $90 with no issues seems to be unfair. Update: a couple of weeks later the office stuff came through and showed more understanding and flexibility, and I was able to book teeth cleaning. Their hygienist did an excellent job. So, I am quite satisfied with the way it turned out. The initial problem was resolved quickly and efficiently thanks to Dr. Lam.

I have been to several dental clinic throughout the city and I have to say West Market Dental is the best clinic I have been. The staffs are nice and professional. The setup in the waiting area shows how thoughtful the staffs are. There is massage hair, laptop, drinks for the patients. There is also a very nice kids' area with a TV, toys, books and crayons. Despite I really enjoy the waiting area, I hardly ever waited as my hygienists were always on time (which was not the case in many clinics I have been to). My kids like to come here though, so they can play in the kids' area after their appointments. Overall, I highly recommend West Market Dental.

I visited the office for a second opinion when my regular dentist told me I needed to have my top four front teeth capped because he said they were cracking. My dentist was saying I needed to have it done ASAP or run the risk of them cracking off which would be harder to repair. Dr. Peter Lam and his assistant, Miranda, did a thorough examination of my teeth and told me it was not something he would suggest I do and that my teeth were not in danger of cracking off. My whole experience in this office from start to finish was warm, friendly and professional. I would highly recommend West Market Dental to anyone looking for a dentist.

I had a laser gum lift done by Dr. Peter Lam and I couldn't be happier. Hands down the best dental experience I have ever had. Everyone there is so nice and welcoming and makes sure you're comfortable. The office is so nice and they even have refreshments in the waiting room. The procedure was so fast and painless and the results were immediate. I had 1mm taken off my gums which doesn't sound like a lot, but it made a HUGE difference in my smile. I found the staff and hygienist very efficient and helpful the dentist was exceptional explained everything was very gentle and concerned about how I was feeling ,his assistant also had the gift of making me comfortable everyone helped to make my visits almost pleasant which for me was a first. I was back in June and found as above the dentist did a remarkable job on my teeth the assistant also could not have been more helpful receptionist was great I must admit I do not like going to a dentist but everyone here contributes to make the experience tolerable

OK, none of us like going to the Dentist - right? Well RUN to do not WALK to West Market Dental. My wife and I are both patients and we have had amazing experiences every time we have had an appointment. Whether it is with one of their team of Dentists - who have AMAZING "bed side manners" - to the Dental Assistants, Hygienists and Reception Staff - it is all just a first class and dare I say - relaxing experience. Now, if I could just convince them to add the Golf Channel to their television cable package I might just move in!

Our midwife reccomended Westmarket Dental to have our son’s lip tie lasered. We were nervous about the procedure but the dentist explained everything simply and thoroughly. He also showed us exactly what he was going to do and make sure we were fully informed before we made the decision to move forward with the procedure. We didn’t feel forced into the procedure at all and after the consultation we felt confident in moving forward. The staff were so sweet with our boy and made sure he was brought out to us calm and not crying.

I ended up at West Market Dental after moving to Calgary and getting a recommendation from a co-worker. I’ve since had appointments with Dr. Lam and Dr. Pac and while it’s technically impossible, they’re both second to none. They demonstrate real care for their patients and are always willing to talk options with you. Direct billing to insurance companies is available but you can still put it on your credit card to get points. The staff are also exceptionally friendly and my cleaning appointments have always been pleasant.

My 8 week old son was treated for his lip and tongue ties to help with his latch, and it made such a difference! Dr. Chris Lan did a great job of explaining to us the procedure and his assessment of the issues so we could make an informed decision about whether to proceed (I was unsure if the procedure would actually help). It has made such a difference with my son's feeding. He spits up less, ingests less air, and goes longer between feeds - which is so exciting for this tired mom. I highly recommend West Market Dental.

My family has been going to West Market Dental for more than 10 years. It is absolutely the best dental clinic we have ever had and we’d even drive half way across the city. The entire staff is so friendly - the receptionists, hygienists and dentists. We have seen all of the dentists and they are always so patient and take their time with us. Only had a cleaning there so far but was quite happy. I didn’t have to wait at all and they have drinks available if you do. Was able to watch tv during the appt which is always a great way to speed things up. They were able to do direct billing for me as my benefits are through my boyfriend who already had it set up. Not sure if they are still doing this or if it’s only for preexisting clients. I also forgot my receipt and they emailed it to me right away which was definitely appreciated

Dr. Lam is awesome. I have always had bad experiences with dentists. The last time I went to a dentist was over 6 years ago where the dentist hurt me, drilled into my gums, and basically caused me never to go back again. Dr. Lam changed my experience completely - I actually look forward to going to my next visit. I had no problems, wasn't nervous, and now I'm able to smile without hiding my teeth.. I can't say enough about Peter Lam or his amazing staff... Highly recommended!

The whole team at West Market Dental is great. They are so friendly and just awesome with my young kids. The kids get excited to go because they know they get to pick out a toy and play video games while we are waiting. The dentists always myake me feel comfortable and don’t push for unnecessary procedures. I like that they are open later some nights to accommodate my schedule. West Market Dental is super convenient as it located right across from the Sirocco train station. Combined with the great location are the flexible hours to get an appointment in before or after work. The office is nice and offers televisions in the ceilings to provide a nice distraction during appointments. The staff are friendly and professional and the prices are in line with acceptable coverage amounts. Strongly recommend

Great service! West Market Dental is located along a major transit route and have flexible hours to adjust my hectic schedule. The offices are tidy and kid friendly while the staff is competent and always contributing towards a great experience. I always look forward to my next cleaning! The only thing that they can improve is to give customer an option of regular toothbrush, Philip sonic care or Oral-B tootbrush heads.

Going to the dentist is never fun, but the friendly and professional staff at West Market Dental make it as pleasant an experience as I can hope for. Called about a frenectomy for our baby's tongue tie. West Market Dental amazingly got us in for the procedure an hour later and my husband will go back for the same procedure next week. Great place. The waiting room is clean and very comfortable. There is water, coffee and juices for self-service. The receptionists are friendly and there is even chewing gum available before your appointment. The doctor was caring and took time to explain and answer all my questions. Our family have been going to West Market Dental over 8 years. Dr Peter Lam is very knowledgeable. I had issues with a crown done over 15 years ago (by a different dental clinic) and he replaced with an Implant. The work was very meticulous and the quality of the implant was top notch. Staff are all very helpful and friendly as well. I recommend West Market Dental to everyone.

A very nice and clean office with pleasant hygienists and dentist. However the front desk staff are extremely unprofessional. While waiting in the waiting room a mother waiting for her child and myself could hear the conversations they were having regarding infedelity/personal issues/vulgar language. It was extremely uncomfortable waiting for the hygienist.

Really want the owner to see this comment....it is really a good clinic while one and only very important thing dragged the point down:the front desk. They are not really happy to help customers at all: little smile, speaking very soft and fast, trying their best to avoid me to book appointment in the future. I don’t want to say they are rude but almost.

I had a very unhappy experience here today. I booked an appointment and told them to have my daughter’s teeth examined and cleaned. I inquired the price as well. But when we paid our bill, I found there were other fees such as x ray and panoramic. They should ask for my permission to do these. And one of the receptionist there wasn’t nice and friendly.

Great waiting room. Massage chair helps the wait. There is also a computer for the kids and free drinks. The associates are friendly and helpful. The dentists are top-notch friendly and quick. Been here several times and will be back.lots of parking outfront. They said if you do a google review you get a discount coupon, I never received such a thing.

Clean & neat in the waiting room with nice kids play area. The staff at the reception desk was friendly. Dr. Pak explains the procedure with respectful manner. He cares the follow up as well. There are lots of dental clinics in my community, but I will see Dr. Pak as my dentist. It is worth to drive up there for over half an hour from my place.

Both my kids have been going here for 7 years now, and we have always been really pleased with the service. They are great with kids and always communicate clearly with parents with respect to concerns or questions. They are also open evenings and weekends which helps a ton. They have a small kids' play room along with the larger waiting room.

I met with Dr. Lam to discuss an adult tongue tie release. Dr. Lam was very thorough in discussing the procedure with me and we discussed the reason why I wanted the release. The office was professional looking and very clean. The procedure itself was very quick and I never felt rushed. He was patient, knowledgeable and compassionate.

Went to see Dr. Peter Lam for my sons tongue tie and lip tie. He was very thorough and answered any and all questions. Very hands on and wanting the best for your child for whichever route you take. The procedure was short and gave lots of helpful information post. Would highly recommend to anyone with a tongue tied baby/child.

Dr. Lam and Dr. Pack are wonderful. They make pain management their priority. During a root canal recently, I had no pain whatsoever. Super accommodating and easy to deal with. Our newborn had a lip/tongue tie and we were apprehensive about getting it done. But Dr Lam explained the whole procedure, answered all our questions and put us at ease. They were able to fit us in for an appointment right away.

Been going here for 15+ years. Even though it's out of my way it's worth the drive. Waiting room is amazing (coffee, juice, computer, tv etc). Dr Lam is amazing, does the most painless fillings. Has done 2 without freezing at my request and barely felt them.
