This school was home to many wonderful memories with my friends, and it was a safe place for many of us. I was a former student here and am now in high school. I wanted to leave here with nothing but joy, but alas, that's not what happened. When reminiscing on my primary school memories, I get sudden flashbacks on the last hour of our schooling and I feel anger and contempt. I feel an intense rage and loss for a moment that could of been so beautiful and memorable. The principal, Sakuna Pho, had taken all of the year 6 girls to the side in the last 45 minutes of the last day, and lectured us for something most of us had no clue about. Many of us were confused, but majority of us were angry, angry because it was our last day, angry because he had ruined it. See the reader might think us dramatic, but this was such a significant point of time for us. It was the END of primary school, we were saying goodbye to so many close and wonderful people, and it was replaced by sudden sadness. I just wanted to recount on that disappointing event and hope that the school is held accountable for ruining it and not even apologising. the teachers are wonderful and the students are wonderful, but this was honestly discouraging and it would be wonderful if the class of 2021 got an apology. I am speaking for majority of us.
Everything about this school makes me fall into a pit of nostalgia -- and I mean everything. As an ex-student (for 6 years), I can say WRPS is for sure a multicultural school with friendly teachers and students. I've forged impermeable friendships and memories here that I still cling and cherish onto dearly. With constructions well underway, I am a bit torn that future generations of WRPS students will not get to experience the experiences that I've had -- planting seeds into the garden beds, seeing the chooks wander around the school, playing in the spacious oval, and playing soccer all day. Regardless, I do see it as a huge benefit to the community and to it's pupils. Highly recommend. May the students of WRPS prosper in the pursuit of learning!
Despite the fact that the school was small, all of the teachers were friendly and welcoming. When I was at this school, 4 years ago, there was very little space for students to play during recess and lunch because all of the grass had been removed and replaced with demountables. I believe that students now have space to enjoy their breaks and have excellent facilities. Overall, it is a great public school in which I wholeheartedly recommend enrolling your child.
One of the greatest experiences I've had in my life, however near the end of my time at the school the leadership team failed the school tremendously, not only the students but also the teachers this was a true level of disgrace to the school. I have nothing but love for the school but this issue truly pushed the line and I hope that this issue is solved for future generations to come so I dearly hope that this change will happen.
I used to go to West Ryde Public School and I am now in year 9. It is a beautiful public school with friendly staff and welcoming children. You can never feel lonely because you will fit in somewhere in this culturally diverse primary school. I highly recommend you put your child there, although I’m not sure how the new buildings are. I definitely learnt a lot from this school and it still brings me such nostalgic memories!
This school was very good until the new principal, Mr Sakuna Pho came in to replace the amazing principal before him. Mr Pho has ruined the year and keeps criticising the students and putting them down while claiming to help them achieve their stars and goals, this is very false and wrong. I do not recommend this school to any new parents until Mr Pho has left and while the musty toilets and buildings are fixed.
This school was a very good school until the new principal came in and decided to accuse people of doing thing that they didn’t even do and along with that was bias towards the children there fore I don’t recommend this school unless the principal leaves the country thank for wrecking our last day of primary school!
Good school. Principal is little unreachable..too much bureaucracy. In the recent years play area are being reduced with new classrooms.in the last 2 years almost 8 new constructions done. To much emphasis on revenue generation.
This is a very wonderful and amazing school, I was a student before and it was honestly the best, the teachers are amazing and so nice and the students are kind and welcoming, I would recommend this school!!
School is quite good because it has nice teachers such as Miss Gray. However the toilets can be very dirty. Honestly they should be given a world record for their dirty toilets.
School pretty good, teachers pretty good, some random new dojo system that i just heard about is not that good, pretty good altogether
Friendly & very caring primary educational institution, very heavly involved in local community projects.
