A tale of two visits: After moving to Indianapolis in 2020 I was in search of a new dentist. I live in Fountain Square and noticed West End Dental's location on Prospect St. I figured that it would be convenient, so why not give them a try? My first visit was phenomenal! I checked in at the front desk, completed the typical new patient paperwork, and was promptly ushered to an exam room. The dentist, assistants, and staff were all very friendly and did a great job. I had x-rays, teeth cleaning, and a chipped tooth fixed, all for the very low price of $59 (without dental insurance). I was extremely happy, and figured that I'd found my new dentist in Indianapolis. My second visit, unfortunately, was not on par with the first. I arrived on time for my appointment, checked in at the front desk, and pretty quickly was taken back to an exam room. I was probably there for 15 minutes when one of the staff came to apologize that the dentist was running behind (They open at 9am, and my appointment was at 10 am...how far behind could they be, right?). I sat there for another 45 minutes without ANYBODY coming into my exam room. No updates, no nothing. I finally gave up waiting and went to the front desk and informed them that I would have to reschedule my appointment. I was truly disappointed with the lack of communication and professionalism exhibited on my second visit. In my line of work, if I were an hour late for an appointment and didn't communicate with my client for 45 minutes, I would be fired. However, as I understand that unexpected things happen, I will plan on rescheduling my appointment, and giving them another try. I hope that the third visit goes smoothly, with the same level of service as the first appointment. And, the third visit did go smoothly. I was promptly greeted, and taken back to an exam room. The dentist and all of the staff were very professional and even apologetic about my prior experience. When I had to go back for a minor adjustment, I was squeezed in the very next day! This third visit went a long way toward making me reconsider, and becoming a returning customer.

I went to Westend Dental for the first time about 6 months ago. I was recommended to get several cavities I had developed filled. I had these done in 2 separate encounters. I was surprised when during these the dentist only did the drilling and not the filling. I found out after some research I have done that this is a practice allowed in several states, Indiana included. I also found out that best practice for fillings always involves two people, one doing the filling and one helping to keep suctioning the saliva or blood during the process to not interfere with the fillings as this affects the life of the filling. However, only the dental assistant was in during my fillings with the suction just resting in my mouth. I went to another dentist recently that was recommended by a friend who had lived here longer than me. After new xrays were done, it was discovered that 4 of the 6 that I had recently gotten filled at Westend already needed replaced due to not adhering properly to the teeth. The dentist at the new place I go to informed me this is often due to not having properly dry setting during the filling. Which is what caused me to do the above research. Because I had just gotten these teeth worked on by Westend, my insurance also denied paying for these four teeth. Thankfully the new dentist I attend felt really bad and is going to write off several of the expenses for me, but after this experience it is still going to cost me time off work to get the work done and $500 out of pocket that I would not be paying otherwise.

I found this place based off of my insurance's provider map. I was able to get an appointment pretty quickly, I provided my insurance information, and they told me they would give me a call back ASAP if they found out they didn't actually accept my insurance... So a week goes by, no calls- just 3 texts confirming my appointment. My appointment was at 9, but the office doesn't open till 9 so I thought that was a little strange but the door was unlocked when I arrived at 8:45 so I went in. I was greeted by someone who didn't ask my name or anything just stated "NONE OF MY STAFF ARE HERE." ok... I told her I have a 9 o'clock appointment and I'm a new patient and was just trying to fill out paperwork. At that time I was told they tried to reach out to me the day prior, I have no record of the call, to let me know that they have one doctor in the building that accepts my insurance and he wasn't working. When I asked when he would he working i was told they don't have a schedule for him he just reaches out to them and tells them when he's going to work but I could be put a list to be called when he decides to work....? Not sure how this was a real solution, why would I want a dentist office where I couldn't have a consistent dentist Very much a waste of time.

This dentist office is the worst place to get any fillings. I received 4 fillings and every single one is messed up. My teeth are in excruciating pain. I'm in more pain now after going to this dentist than I was prior. If I could give zero Stars I would. The dentist drills so roughly an assistant dentist does not know how to put a feeling in if his life depended on it. He literally took 45 min on 1 tooth and kept fiddling with the tools like he didn't even know how to use them and after all that time he still didn't do it right. Then the dentist comes in to supposedly fix the bite and fails terribly I go back to have them to fix my fillings that were messed up and they messed it up more. I can't even floss without my floss breaking from the filling not filed down correctly and not there are areas they missed filling in so I have a whole in my tooth that when I floss sends a sharp pain to my ear.i hope this location gets closed down because they don't work on teeth correctly. And I don't want them to hurt anyone else like they did me

I went in monday to hopefully address pain and issues with my teeth, they didn't give full x rays like places normally do with a new patient to address things like cavities that could be an issue in the future. I told them my concerns and the ones I addressed needed insurance approval, no teeth cleaning NOTHING. Basically went in with pain to be told to go home and they seemed very rushed and not at all empathetic. My boyfriend went today (he has bad teeth) to address his issues and he said he felt like a clown show because everyone came in the room to look at his teeth and also just to be told that his insurance wouldn't cover any of it (which is a lie) then told him to call his insurance. Dentist gave piss poor customer service to both of us wouldn't recommend to anyone

I won’t be back. The staff is nice, but I came in for a cleaning and I did not get that. My entire appointment including a full set of X-rays only took 30 minutes. The doctor did not polish or do fluoride. It was a total waste of time; and now I have to wait 6 months for my insurance to pay for an actual cleaning. They were nice but they didn’t clean my teeth and are charging my insurance for basically nothing… using the cavitiron for less than 3 minutes is not a cleaning. I worked at a dentist office for a year and a half so I’m very aware of the process. You can’t do a cleaning in less than 5 minutes. I won’t be back. This company should do the right thing and not bill my insurance for a prophy since that can hardly be considered a cleaning.

Only thing I didn’t like was my appointment was at 9am . I was there at 8:50. Didn’t get called back until around 9:30. Other then that staff was very polite , I had a lot of work done on my teeth , was very nervous because most dentists I’ve been to don’t care if your in pain when their working on you. Very soft handed when performing my oral repairs ! Thanks guys Update: worse off pain then I was , can’t chew on one side of my mouth, jaw bones are hurting from only using one side of mouth can’t eat anythigg by hot or too cold . Very sensitive no crunchy foods at all. I lost 5 lbs from lack of my usual eating and I’m very skinny . Awesome hope they can fix or I will get getting a lawyer.

This was the absolute BEST dental experience I have EVER had. And I've had plenty work done in the past...even braces. I am SO afraid of dentist but my God they made me comfortable with the consultation and procedures. I had a root canal, cleaning and filling done all in one visit. NO PAIN AT ALL. Kim the dental assistant had the personality of an angel and was extremely conforting. Dr. Dhanjal was my angel. In fact they both were angels!!! They both explained everything and was patient and comforting to my fears. No more fear of dentist. This will be my permanent dentist. Even the receptionist Dulce was awesome with welcoming me and getting me in.

I was referred to West End by a friend and could not have been more pleased with my experience. I unexpectedly lost a front tooth and they are going to be able to get it fixed in 7 days for way less expensive then I would have ever imagined. The staff was helpful, polite and very informative. The place does look a little ghetto from the outside but don’t let that fool you. Inside it was very nice, up to date, clean and comfy. This was the best dental experience I have ever had. Will continue to go here and refer people. I am so excited to have my smile back in such a short time and for such a low cost....Thanks West End!!

My children were seeing a dentist prior to West end dental and their office was closed a week before Christmas I couldn't find anyone to take my daughter who is 7. We came to West end dental and we felt so comfortable the staff is amazing to the point where my seven-year-old who had to get her tooth pulled didn't freak out at all she was very comfortable and she loves the dentist at West end dental on prospect he is amazing the staff is amazing and now I bring myself and all my children to the office because we feel more comfortable and more at ease and he's just amazing. I highly recommend him and his staff.

While the staff is friendly, I'm really disappointed with the quality of work that has been done on my teeth, particularly with the fillings that have been done. Since I've started going here earlier in 2022, I've had more than a few fall out within a week of being seen. I've had to go back 3 times for one tooth in particular. And now I'm having others fall out, after not even 6 months. Unfortunately these experiences will stop me from ever going to this clinic again. Im not sure if its the materials they use or if they're just not placed on correctly, but its frustrating and im at my wits end.

The team is amazing! Nicole literally held my hand the whole time. The team made me a believer what a good dentistry is supposed to be. HORRIBLE!!! I came here a few months ago because I was having tooth sensitivity and without doing any X-rays or measurements the doctor treated me for periodontal disease and recommended a deep cleaning which when I got a second opinion they said I do Not have and did not need a deep cleaning. They also tried to lie and say my sister didn’t have dental on her insurance and tried to make me pay out of pocket which come to find out is also not true, she does have dental coverage. They’re scammers and i will never be back and will tell everyone to avoid here at all cost!!!

My husband and I has been coming here for the past 3 months. The staff is great, but there work is not guaranteed. I had 3 filling out in, in one day and lost all 3 of them in less then a week. Not only that but my husband had a tooth pulled and they never prescribed him antibiotics before or after extraction. Instead he got an infection in his mouth over the weekend and had to take him to the 24hour dental which worked with him and gave him antibiotics till him could go back in. So over all bad work I s happening over and over so will be looking for a new dentist!!!

I highly recommend Westend Dental Fountain Square location. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Every time I arrive I am greeted with a warm smile and addressed by my first name. I always feel like my questions are answered, the dental hygienists are very gentle, the facility is very clean, and the hours of operation are very convenient. The facility offers a wide variety of dental services. There is also on-site parking and appointment text reminders that are really convenient.

I just started going to this dental office and was very happy to find a clean and neat modern facility with easy access. All the staff was very welcoming and helpful. The treatment plan they provided me was detailed and I was offered varied payment options. Doctor Koneru is a nice dentist she was very kind and explained everything patiently. I had a complicated extraction which she made with precise and thorough professionalism causing no pain at all! I will highly recommend them.

I personally recommend Westend Dental. Very polite, professional group of staff, doctors, dental hygienist. I had an appointment on Friday July, 17 for a check up and cleaning since I have been to the dentist is 4-5 years. I go for cleaning and x-rays, then find out I have a couple cavities. The DR goes over your x-rays very thoroughly. Instead of scheduling me to come back, the DR asks if I want to get them done that day. Of course I said yes! Westend Dental is the place to be!

They are EXTREMELY good with children. My four year old has autism and the assistant Dee was absolutely amazing with him! They worked with my children to make it fun for them. They are professional, the office was very clean, everyone is very nice and they make you feel welcome. The dental assistant Dee also helped me with my children so that I could been seen as well. Definitely five star service. I recommend this dental office to everyone with children.

What a great experience here at westend Love the staff they are very friendly and make you feel right at home, they keep a nice clean environment in and outside the building and practice social distancing!!! 5 Star Review! I simply can’t say how impressed and thankful I am to Dr. Rana and his staff for going the extra mile to make sure that I felt at ease and comfortable during my visits with them. I was anxious due to some dental pain I had experienced years ago. Everyone in the office, even the front office staff let me know that they all genuinely cared about me as a patient and that I was in good hands. I highly recommend Dr. Rana!!

DO NOT GO HERE!!! I went in for a cleaning and they told me that I had four cavities and periodontal disease, I went to my dentist that I have been going to for years and not only did I not have periodontal disease, I didn’t have any cavities. They did the same thing with my neighbor, they told him he had six cavities and he went to get a second opinion, he didn’t have any cavities. They shouldn’t be allowed to be in business.

They had an assistant do my filling instead of the dentist. He kept nervously re drilling and redoing the filling. When the dentist came back in he seemed annoyed by the work and also kept re drilling and working on it. I ended up with severe pain for several days so I went to a different dentist only to find out that the filling wasn't done properly and now I need antibiotics and a root canal. I am considering sueing.

Lilli was absolutely amazing!!! I was super nervous and hadn't been to the dentist in almost 6 years. She eased all of my worries and was very patient and kind. With my being an individual who is transgender she made me feel very welcome and comfortable and for that I'm very appreciative and grateful. After today's visit I believe I've found my new home for dentistry...I highly recommend for any of your dental needs.

Me and my daughter went in for a teeth cleaning found out that we had cavitiesthey took care ofnof them hesitation!they took great care of us!!! All the staff is so nice and great!!! I hate the dentist and I'm scared to death but they assured me that everything would be okay and made me feel very comfortable!!! The biggest help was Gema Dulce!! Never had a bad experience here. The staff is efficient, personable, and flexible. The waiting room and back areas are always clean and relaxing. Finally made it into my appointment to get my impressions made for my dentures and the two ladies, Lexi and Nicole, are extremely pleasant, both with big smiles on their faces enjoying their careers. These ladies made my visit quite enjoyable to go to the dentist.

I have four kids that go here from ages five to fifteen. They all love it. They have made them all comfortable and explained what they are doing and why. My 5 year old is so comfortable that she likes to go in the back alone and be a big girl. We will most definitely be staying here. Very friendly staff and clean. Would recommend to everyone.

Highly recommend Westend Dental.. Very comfortable atmosphere, office staff is quick to return your phone call, very professional and friendly. Dr Rana is great at explaining a procedure/questions in the best course you need with any dental issues. They do Saturday appointments as well very convenient for any busy schedule.

I chipped my tooth and they were able to fix it very quickly in the same day. Dulce was able to find my insurance very quickly and was very helpful!

Horrible customer service . Didn't do x rays and had 6 people come in and look at my family members mouth and make him feel awful about himself .
