Quite happy with the service I received at Westside Automotive. Customer service(service advisor) was exceptional, attentive and extremely knowledgeable. Attention to detail from the service rep was impeccable and greatly appreciated, and helped streamline the handoff from the advisor to the technician. As a new resident of the area, I was optimistic with trusting my beloved A4 Avant with this shop... Although I was quoted above what I was expecting (I am not a mechanic, but have some experience and knowledge) Westside Automotive has replaced my timing chains (the updated version to resolve the OEM Audi Grenade), replaced two wheel bearings, and one minor other repair at the time of service (due to convenience - they were doing wheel bearings and repaired a dying CV boot for a discounted price as they were already "in the area" - greatly appreciated) The technicians seem to have a high level of integrity and care for the vehicle as if it were there own - they work hard, and work late to expedite customers vehicles repairs and services. The only complaints that I have about the shop are: Difficult to get in for a service, inspection, repair (in my scenario, they had to troubleshoot multiple issues - yet communicated as best of their ability) Time estimates (were not clear from the date that i dropped my vehicle off. Understandably, a respectable shop is busier than expected) (I just wish they communicated roughly or gave an estimation on how long my vehicle would have taken to repair/mend from the moment I dropped it off, rather than finding out after I dropped the vehicle off and finding out it would be 10 days roughly) (not a huge issue as the vehicle was repaired as is currently running nicely) Pros: High quality work, the shop boasts their knowledge for Audi and VW specific work and knowledge, which is emphasized by their technicians hard work and diligence. Although I perhaps could not have explained the noise that I was hearing, Westside Automotive had diagnosed the (apparent) issue that my A4 Avant had (timing chains) their experienced and knowledgeable technicians resolved the noise that I was hearing and their service advisor listened to what I had to say regarding the issue and took notes extensively. Competitive pricing: After speaking with the knowledgeable and trusted technicians (from my hometown - Audi/VW certified techs) the prices were on par with the work that was performed. Replacing wheel bearings on a 2009 Audi A4 Avant (any B8 model) is not a fun job, and they did not complain, or give any grief about the work that was requested on my vehicle. I would be happy to return to this shop at the time of writing this review (roughly one week post service) and I am extremely happy to say that my Avant is running healthy, and with no issues currently, thank you to this shop and their technicians. Thank you to Westside Automotive, I will be happy to bring my Avant back for regular services and maintenance! All in all, Westside Automotive seems like and excellent shop, and I will recommend to any friend that drives any Volkswagen Audi Group vehicle to visit this shop.

I had my VW bus in to Westside in July, the transmission wasn’t working, and I needed them to figure out why. After dropping it off, I repeatedly called looking for updates as nobody had told me anything about what was going on. The regular answer I received over the phone was “We’ll check and call you back.” Only once did I receive a phone call back. I dropped in a few times and was given timeframes as to when they were going to look at it, or them once again telling me they would call me, without receiving phone calls. Eventually, they got to it and told me that the transmission on the vehicle wasn’t the right transmission for the bus, and that someone must’ve swapped it out prior to me purchasing it. I was told I would need a new transmission if I wanted to keep it an automatic or would have to convert it over to manual which would cost a lot more. None of that seemed correct to me, so after doing 10 minutes of research online regarding the transmission in forums, I located the issue with the transmission (shaft not engaging the oil pump), which was common. I also located several photos and part numbers that were exact matches to the transmission I had on my van (010 3 speed automatic), meaning it was the right transmission. Unfortunately, this means one of two things – either they don’t know what they’re talking about when it comes to fixing my bus, or they’re trying to fleece me by roping me into spending a lot of money on a new transmission or doing an expensive conversion over to manual. Regardless of which one it is, neither is a very good look for Westside Auto. Finally, when I picked up the bus about a month and a half later (after getting tired of the runaround, I just wanted it back), the engine and transmission were both sitting inside the cab of the bus. Westside charged me over $900 to improperly diagnose the problem, attempt to get me to spend a lot of unnecessary money at their shop regarding transmissions, and then left my bus in worse condition when it left than it was when it came in. Unreal. The customer service I experienced was terrible, they take way too long to get to things looked at and lie about issues that my vehicle did not have which would have cost me thousands had I gone through with it. Fortunately, I have since found a competent, honest and fair mechanic and shop that is doing things properly. Long story short, I find this place to be dishonest and lacking knowledge when it comes to VW busses. Not only will I never return to this place, I will dissuade anyone I know from ever going here and would strongly recommend to anyone I don’t know to avoid this place like the plague.

Updated**** Part 2 of 2 It's been a couple days since I've gotten my brakes done. In terms of the work they did to my b8 a4.... Westside Automotive IS YOUR GO TO! They ensured that every concern I had was answered. They took care of me personally as if I was at friends house. Making sure I had everything I needed to relax while waiting (Access to cable, internet, phone charger, refreshments and etc) Every customer I had a chance to quickly chat-up were the ones that came back and were very very satisfied with the work Westside Automotive does. Westside Automotive... They said it may take 4 hours long, but go everything finished in 3 hours. Not only the work they did was beyond quality .... they did it fast and efficient as well. The mechanic actually took time to get me from the waiting room to show me what my brakes looked like and what is going to be done and they asked whether I want to keep the parts or not. (which the Dealership doesn't do that) If anyone is truly curious what the difference is between Westside Automotive and the dealership is that.... The dealership will set you up with a loaner and clean your vehicle, BUT will rob you in terms of labor/Shop fee's and their "initial diagnoses" Tammy/Rob/Ben.... Thank-you so much for the great experience I received while waiting for my car to be done. I know for a fact that I will be coming back to get more work done in the future and will recommend ya'll to anyone with a VW or Audi -------------------------------------------------------------------- Part 1 of 2 "Initial Service/contact review" Once the work is finished on my car... I'll then do the "service/work review" I'm scheduled for to get my brakes done in the upcoming days. This is my first time going to an independent car shop cause I usually go to my dealership to get service done. What I have to say about "Westside Automotive" is that they are very very very knowledgeable about VW and Audi. Rob/Ben was very patient and kind with my annoying inquires... unlike other shops I've talked to. In terms of quality parts and pricing... they WON'T ROB/CHEAT YOU. They set me up Zimmerman rotors and ceramic pads for under $630 Dealership wanted $2700-3000 just for parts. Nappa and part source can vary but I don't trust there "nappa or certified brand" I'd rather stick to true EURO parts.

5 months ago I showed Roby mymirrors and a tail light cover for my Jetta and he quoted me $500 to replace and said he would get right on it. Over then next 4.5 months I have called SEVERAL times, not always getting to speak to Rob but always with the promise he would call me back, and he did not. When I would call again Rob has told me he would put me on his list/I was on his list to get these items. He would get call his contacts that weekend/day. I expressed how we wanted to have this done before winter and at the $500 quote as that is what I had saved. ONLY when 2 weeks ago a piece was broken off my car at the error of another company did Rob actually jump into action (my assumption unfortunately is because he wanted his reputation with the other company and I could get a quote from other elsewhere) Due to his delay and dragging his feet my quote then went up by 50%. I have asked him why why the increase in bill and his response was that is the prices now, and that he would try to make my bill smaller when they did the work. Well 5 months ago the parts were quoted cheaper and so was Westside's labor quote. I just got a call and not only is the bill not lower, the bill is higher then the new quote! If there was another place for me to take my vehicles I would do it, in the last 2.5 years the customer service/honoring of quotes has gone to downhill with these guys and I am always having to demand the price I am quoted. I wish it wasn't because I love the work they do. This time I am out an extra $250 dollars I did not have to pay for Robs laziness and lack of customer service :-( I have always been happy with the work, but not sure I can handle the stress of constantly having to fight for a fair price!

Called to get my 60 000 km inspection done. They said they were fully booked but could squeeze me in to just drop it off in the morning. Morning of the appointment I google messaged the owner rob to ask how much it would be for just the inspection and he asked if it was a money issue I said yes. He said we would just start with the oil change for $140 and he would call before he replaced or did any work. I dropped the car off and left it expecting a call. About an hour before close I called them to ask if my car had been looked at yet. The owner Rob said yes he was too busy to call me so he went ahead and replaced the cabin filter, windshield wipers, did the oil change and the safety inspection and that the total was going to be $292. There is a huge difference between $140 and $292. He knew a head of time I was tight for money at the moment, yet went ahead and did all the work without consent. I went right over to pick up my car and I am not the type of person to make a fuss. I asked if he could maybe just put my old windshield wipers back on to cut the cost a bit. He said he probably could but to help me out he gave me a total of $6 dollars off my total. Annoyed but figured they did me a favor trying to fit me in so I wouldn't complain, I paid. I asked about winter tires for my car, thinking I would give them a second try. He said for sure ill email you a quote, came out and looked at my tires then said goodbye. Didn't ask for my email, didn't call me back, or message me on google and it's been a few days now. Will not be returning to this place and will be letting everyone I know not to go there unless you are whiling to pay a bunch more than expected!

Thank you, thank you, thank you! You guys really saved my but. I live in BC and was on a road trip with my family when suddenly my check engine and EPC lights came on. The car started shuttering so I pulled over and smoke started pouring off the engine. I managed to limp the car into Edmonton and thankfully Westside Auto was able to get me in right away. They determined the problems were all a result of my car not being put back together properly after my local mechanic replaced the ac condenser. The wiring harness was damaged witch cause the computer to short circuit. This caused the engine to misfire and damaged the ignition coils. One of the coils actually exploded into two parts. They found a second hand computer at a junk yard in Canmore and persuaded the guys to get it pulled out and shipped immediately. It was nothing short of a miracle that they managed to get me in and out of the shop so quickly and at such a great price. The customer service is unparalleled. If we had taken the car to the dealer it would have cost thousands of dollars and taken weeks to complete. I feel truly blessed to have found this shop. We were considering flying home and getting the car back at a later date or buying a second hand car to complete the trip. In the end it was barely a hiccup along the way. This is a family run shop that knows their Volkswagens like no other. 50 years of experience and they truly care about their customers. A special thanks to Tammy pulling all the right strings to get our car fixed so quickly. Of all the great things we experienced on this trip the whole car incident might end up being the most memorable of them all.

I'm adding to my review from 3 years ago, because I cannot stress how excellent a business this is run by a dedicated and honest family. I'm copying and pasting what I sent Rob. Hey Rob, I'm probably a broken record at this point, as I believe I'm hitting almost 15 years as a customer of Westside, but I feel I need to tell you all again. Your business is outstanding. The integrity, honesty, workmanship, everything is nothing short of amazing. This morning when I was quoted $1100 for my work on my Audi, it hurt, but it had to be done, I love my A3. Kristine my wife wasn't happy...haha...but she got it. When I rolled into the shop to pick my car up, and was told my quote was a mistake and the work was significantly lower obviously I was pretty stoked. But I'll be frank....there are people and businesses in this world that wouldn't have said a word, and charged me the full amount. I don't know the difference between the work on a manual stick shift vs a DSG transmission...I know I don't have DSG and that's it. But there are businesses that would not have told me that. So again, thank you, your family for running a business the way it should be run. Feel free to post this on any social media...I continue to send friends to Westside. Thanks again Rob. I used to take my 2001 Jetta to these folks and they were fabulous in the 10 years I owned that car. Bought a new Audi which recently fell out of warranty. Dealer pointed out some issues, I'm now going back to Westside. Rob and and his sister are pretty rad people, very nice.

Very friendly and informative but there is a dark side. They definitely hustle their clients. For example went in for oil change and because I had a good experience the first time with previous oil change I took their word without looking and replaces worn out brake lines. When picking up the car I was asking a lot of questions as I usually do and the guy at the desk let it slip that they've done "over 10 of these repairs this week." After some thought I realize the chances of this are literally zero, that everyone's brake lines are shot all at the same time. It wasn't a huge bill but obviously they're cyclical hustling for those little repairs and of course they play the safety card with the brake lines coupled with a good horror story to make you feel obligated. Another time I brought car in for oil leak issue and walked out with a 350.00 bill for absolutely nothing and never got an answer what the cause of the leak was because they needed to be advised if they should clean it to find the leak. Was pretty frustrated at this point and lost all trust and sold the Audi because I felt like I couldn't trust the mechanic. If you are educated in vehicles you'll definitely clash with the guy at the desk because he doesn't give your opinion any respect and does as he pleases.

After purchasing my 2008 VW Rabbit from Southgate VW and dealing with them for few years, I knew the dealerships was not the way to go. After moving to northwest part of the city, Norden Autohaus being new and few blocks away, I decided to give a shot to them but it was disappointment after disappointment once again (3 months to get a gas pedal shipped from Germany? wow). A friend referred me to Westside Automotive and I decided to google. I've been taking my vehicle to Westside and Rob over the last year or so and I wish I have found this place not just 1 year ago but 7 years ago. Would have save lots of money and stress. Amazing shop, eveyone is always smiling and ready to help you. Rob knows everything there is to know about the vehicles he is servicing and always honest and up front with you about parts and labor before it goes on to your vehicle/bill. I have already recommended the shop to a few friends of mine and they have been texting me back and saying how positive their experience was. Thank you Westside Automotive and keep up the good work.

We were travelling from Regina to the Rockies in our 79 westfalia, and started having mechanical issues just east of Edmonton. We were recommended to Westside by our mechanic in Regina, and gave them a call. Tammy walked us through a few common issues, and when none of them worked, offered to take a peek (even though they were swamped that day). We brought it by, and they started running tests quickly, which was so amazing, because we were travelling with a 4 and 7 year old. Our van was in the shop for 3.5 hours and they kept us updated, kept our kids entertained, and kept some of our groceries in their fridge. When we weren't able to get the part we needed by the end of the day, Tammy pulled the part from her own van, gave us the low down on how to install it, and we were on our way. I honestly could have kissed the whole darn crew. Their passion for VWs, and their genuine & accommodating nature is a shining example of an incredible family owned business. Thank you wouldn't be enough!!

I took my audi a4 to this place because i had an engine light last winter, they asked me to leave it for a day and come back to it in the evening,i was trying to call the foreman/owner during that day to find out of what is going on with the car but this guy kept avoiding to talk to me on the phone ,not sur why! When i went in the evening to pick up the car, i was shocked by the amount of money he was charging me and still without finding the cause of the light on my car, when i asked he is like we don't know why this light keeps coming ,and that he will call me after he checks online and maybe somebody who might know the issue,i didn't argue with him i paid and left with a big disapointment and anger, since then he didn't call me and he kept avoiding my calls. DON'T go there if you don't want to get robbed by this unprofessionals who call themselves (vw ,Audi specialty).

This shop is one of a dying breed- true client care. Should you have any issues, they will make an honest effort to rectify it. I have used Westside automotive for an accumulated 3 major repairs now. I continued to return for their over the top client care, specialized vehicle knowledge and customer service. On my 3rd most recent visit, what was initially quoted to be a relatively cheap fix, unforseen to both the team and myself - ended up being double the cost of the quote. As one would expect, this was a frustrating experience. However, true to their strengths- Tammy, Garrett and the techs despite their own staff shortages, did everything they could to educate me of the fault, work with me (above and beyond) to moderate my concerns and humanize the experience. For any VW/Audi or other build mechanical issues, I challenge you to find a better team.

  • Terry Grenier (TFactoR)

This is the place to take you Old School, New School VW. They also do Audi's. I have been taking my VW and Audi's here since 2006. They are very friendly and honest. They will give you the best service and stand behind their work. One of the best family owned businesses I go to. I almost consider myself part of the family. I am a sales rep and pack a lot of km's on my car lots of use and abuse. So I am there on the regular saving money compared to other place I have taken my Audi and VW. This is the place to take your VW and Audi. WestSide also sells the BEST performance chip available Unitronic. The 2.7L Bi-Turbo engine gets one of bang for the buck from the chip! Do It!! I can never say enough to let Westside know my appreciation for all the times they have gotten me out of a jam and gone above and beyond. Thanks WestSide!!

  • Leandra Grenier-Green

I can not recommend this place enough! I don’t know anything about vehicles and am always apprehensive of getting work done because I am hesitant to be taken advantage of - this was so far form being the case at Westside. As long as I own a VW, I will absolutely be coming here even though it’s on the other side of the city, to me it’s worth the drive. Despite the issue with my vehicle being complex and no doubt frustrating, Rob and his team were patient and dedicated to finding and repairing the issue. They kept me up to date on the progress throughout the week my car was with them and explained everything to me in a way that I could understand. Thank you to everyone at Westside Auto who had a hand at dealing with the seemingly never ending cold weather issues with the front struts/mounts on my VW Jetta!

  • Kamran Haider

I am 37 years old and this is the best customer service I have ever had in my life. I had a punctured tire on my volkswagen tigua and could not find the lugnut key. I went to 2 volkswagen dealership and was told I needed to get my car towed in to get this resolved. No one even wanted to look at the lugnut picture to see what key I needed. I went to Westside Automotive and the fortune of meeting Tammy (assistant manager). She took her time to look up which key I needed to order (it was going to take ~10 days for it to get is mailed to me). She offered to come to my house after work and let me borrow they key to resolve my issue (I am not even a customer at this place). She actually came after work to help me out. I was not a cutomer but am one now for sure. Thank you for your kindness.

  • Peter Moody

They are great. They take the time to explain the repairs which I like since I know a bit about cars. Have tried some other repair places, but I think that they are now my favourite since Punch Buggy off of Whyte changed hands. I feel I can trust them. Don't waste your time and money with a dealership. Westside is better. In reference to previous post, I have had them do minor things like replace a light bulb without my consent. So easy to replace myself, I will not pay for that! They relented and just charged for the bulb. Didn't have to fight for it. Just said no way. Some may like that though. They are busy, but generally handle the volume well. Sometimes it is hard to reach them. Possibly because they spend time with people when you pick up the car.

  • Will Shupenia

I've been going to westside automotive for the past few years now and they are by far the best shop I've been to went in for a diagnosis today and a quote for a clock spring Rob suggested I call the dealership to check for extended warranty long story short Rob saved me around $800 instead of pushing me to go through them for the part and install. they go above and beyond to help out their customers anytime I bring my vehicle in for a simple service I always get more either they do an inspection or they fill my fluids whenever they are low. Prices are great and work is even better. My ONLY issue I have with them is they never have any stickers when I see them lol. Thank you westside for all the work you've done and will be doing to my vehicle's.

  • Brent

Our family has taken 3 cars (a rabbit, a eurovan, and a passat) to these guys for service and they've been excellent to deal with for each of them. They're almost exclusively a VW/Audi shop and as such have the expertise in diagnosing and solving the common problems that creep up. This means you save money as they go right to the problem and the correct solution, instead of wasting money on diagnosis at non specialist shops. Any problems or issues I've had about the work that's been completed has been dealt with logically and sympathetically by the staff. They are a business, but they seem to value the relationship with customers which means more repeat business. An old school touch that is appreciated and brings me back.

  • Garth Lord

As a DIY'er I haven't had any work done here but I have come into the shop to order parts and left with what I came for in addition to very helpful and important insight into the issue or maintenance I was working one each time. Most recently, Rob volunteered a lot of information on the maintenance I was getting geared up to perform on my Golf R prior to selling it and provided a reasonable quote for parts. Later, when I apologetically called to notify them that I had a perspective buyer and might not need the parts, they put the order on hold and told me to let them know if anything changed. I am very appreciative of the service provided for comparably minimal gain on their part. Would recommend to anyone I know!

  • Matt Kraus

I've been taking my VW's to Westside for over a decade now because I've truly never received such outstanding customer service at any business, let alone a mechanic shop. Every single visit, they've offered me multiple cost-point options to repair, fast turnaround and I've not once had to return for a follow-up on the same repair. They're the reason my 21-year-old GTI is still going strong. Terrific workmanship, 1st class service, friendliest group you could imagine. Rob and the family treat you like a member of their own and I can't say enough great things about these guys. Plus, their lot is loaded with the coolest VW's in town because, surprise, every VW owner knows to go visit them. Hats off guys!

  • Braydon Nelson

Brought my 2018 Tiguan here for its second Haldex service after stumbling upon a forum post about the strainer getting clogged, which the dealerships will not clean and is not a VW maintenance item. Cost was $100 more than the dealer, but $60 of that was new o-rings/gaskets, which need to be replaced if the pump is pulled to clean the filter/strainer. Of the indie shops I contacted in the area Westside was the only one who acknowledged the existence of the filter and said cleaning it was part of their standard service. Wish I would have known and brought it here for my first Haldex service. Very knowledgeable and friendly staff/owners, I'll be coming back for all my non-warranty related services.

  • Chelsey Schram

I will rave about these guys forever! I took my VW beetle here to get looked at randomly because they were close to my work. They have exceeded my expectations! My car was fixed after an accident by TC Car on Yellowhead and they used the wrong screws in the front end. Needless to say, when Westside went in to fix what we thought was broken, it wasn't. They took care of any problems I needed fixing and were so pleasant. They wrote a report and told me to contact my insurance. I would have never known to do this! The insurance helped me out due to the discrepancy. Thank you Tammy you're amazing and everyone I had the pleasure of speaking to. I will be back!

  • Mortgage Mentor

As a business owner myself, I know it can be near impossible to satisfy every customer, let alone never make mistakes. That being said, I have been taking my vehicles to Westside for a number of years now. Rob and his team are all Stand up people. It would be unrealistic to expect them to never have flaws though, as just like you reading this review, they're human. I have never been disappointed in the work I have got back from Westside. When there have been concerns, they have been more than professional in handling them and correcting them as needed. I'd 10/10 recommend choosing Westside as your trusted shop.

  • Mason

I have been going to Westside Automotive for a number of years now, spanning 3 different Audi models, and I can confidently say that I refuse to take my vehicles anywhere else. Rob, Tammy and the rest of the team are simply phenomenal. Not only are they knowledgeable, professional and honest, but they do amazing work, are extremely personable and an absolute delight to deal with every time I see them. Whether it's routine maintenance, large repairs or aftermarket performance additions, no job is too big or too small for them, and you can be confident that you're getting the best job here.

  • Clan MacLean

Fantastic service! The people that answer the phone are knowledgeable about VW cars [actual parts tradespeople]. And when they do the job there isnt the ridiculous upsell or "shop supplies' charges for plugging in the programmers that are already built into the $200+/hr rates! Westside is the place to go with your VW repairs. I did my time with Norden dealership and after 10 times having to return to get anything fixed we'd had enough. Sadly Westside can't do recalls and security related work like FOB replacement (the last triple visit to Norden and still not completed)

  • Thomas L

Service experience and communication was excellent. My wheel fell off (was put on by a tire shop that will remain nameless) and I had my car towed to Westside since it was the closest option. They provided the appropriate quote for repairing the issue and also included recommended maintenance items for later. My rim was destroyed and they were able to find an older 2014 OEM rim which matched my other ones, which was a relief and saved me from having to purchase a new set. Definitely coming back for my regular maintenance items, well done!

  • Michael C

I had an informative discussion with Phil (at front counter) who was very patient, about repairs to my 2006 Audi A6. Always had courteous response from different Staff over the phone. Very knowledgeable and experienced technicians with the work having been done correctly and efficiently. The cost was fair and reasonable. They also kindly accommodated my request to take the car to a nearby location for an inspection. It was one of the best repair shops I have experienced in almost 30 years of car ownership. I recommend them unreservedly.

  • James Law

Very, Very Good service here. They are super friendly and go above and beyond for you. Also they really know their stuff. They live and breathe volkswagen here. They know about all the problems and all the specialized components to each volkswagen. Probably the best part is that they are looking out for your pocket. They won't do any service to your car if your car doesn't need it, and you can have confidence that your car won't break down in the middle of the road because they know volkswagens inside and out.

  • BstrongDK83

Absolutely not recommended place!!! Those “proFfesionals” did delete on my Audi Q7 the cheapest way it’s possible, never replaced all components, the “custom built “ manifold is absolute garbage, welded from many peace’s , they also hooked it to broken flex pipe and never replaced it, when my mechanic saw that, he said omfg “who did this “? Did you do it yourself? . So I payed lots of money for delete and they say delete is a software thing, and there is nothing to do with exhaust system, imagine that!!!

  • Dimitri An

0 stars. Went here for an overall check up but mainly to see why my car was making a clanking noise. They did not tell me what was the issue but want me to pay more to do more check ups. Went back and they told me they would email me what was causing the issue and the quote to fix it and 2 weeks later I still haven’t heard back from them. I’m convinced they never checked the car that day and never went under the car or do a proper check up they just got the money and gave me my car back.

  • PJ Coyne

THANK YOU Rob, Tammy and Austin. I recently had a tough issue with my now obsolete VW Van... Completely abandoned by VW..... Rob, Tammy and Austin formulated a plan, sourced the parts out the US and implemented them back to factory specifications.. They came back to me with a reasonably priced solution and implemented it to perfection within the agreed upon time-line.. A Big THANK YOU Rob for quarterbacking this. Previously would have given a 5 but I had to chase them for quotes and parts in the past month, I was told I was getting better prices but prices are comparable to the dealership who offers loaner cars and is very prompt with getting me quotes back and I don’t feel like I have to chase them. Overall they have been kind when spoken to and previously I had good experience that’s why I am not rating this lower, however after a couple good years with them I am going back to the dealership

I’ve come here a lot since buying my Audi and it’s usually really good service but today they told me swapping my winter tires to summers would take about 30 mins and I ended up sitting in the shop for close to 2 hours. I told them twice my summers weren’t on rims and I could have easily walked home instead of waiting in the shop for so long with a dog constantly barking for some reason.. Good work here but some more attention to detail would have been nice today!

  • Richard Yaremko

Called 3 different times over 3 weeks for a quote on some vehicle mods. Each time they said they would get back to me in a day or two and never did. Each call they were told I called previously the week before. The woman who answered the phone was very abrupt. Meanwhile, the price for the mods increased in price by about 35% by the shop whom fabricated the parts while I patiently waited. 1 star is too much for this extremely poor level of customer service.

  • Luis Alberto D'Elia-Betolaza

Went for AMA-approved 200-point vehicle inspection. I had great, personalized attention at the front desk and at the waiting room. The front desk staff walked the extra mile when helping mec with additional parts needed. However, the inspection missed malfunction windshield wipers and a small but crucial deep dent (a hole!) in the roof. Parking was a serious shortcoming (I doubled park and others needed to do that to me!). The rest was great

I've been getting my Audis serviced here for 4+ years. Great people, great service and less expensive than the dealer's. This is a family-owned bussiness so word-of-mouth and great customer service is how they get new customers in and retain the old ones. They also specialize in aftermarket performance parts and is a great place to get your Audi chipped with Unitronic. Has a small waiting room with complimentary coffee and water and tv.

  • John Doe

Had emailed them for a quote for a downpipe install. Got a reply the same day and a call from Rob for the quote. Set up the install because of the amazing deal he gave me. The install took a little longer than expected, but great work always takes time. Very happy with their services and they will definitely get my future business! Rob even touched base with me the day after to see if everything was working good, talk about service!

  • Erin Chessor

I have to add to all the positive reviews of Westside. I have been using them for general service on my Audi A4 for a few years and they are amazing to work with. I can't say enough about the level of service and honesty that is the standard here. It is a good feeling to be able to trust your car completely to the staff and know that you won't be overcharged or forced into work that may not be necessary. Truly exceptional.

  • Jason

Westside auto continues to impress me with their service and pricing. My radiator decided to bleed all over my garage floor so the first call I made was to West side Auto. They were able to get my car into the shop and charge a great rate for the fix. I have had oil changes, fuel filter, DSG, water pump/timing belt work done at this shop so I can highly recommend them for all work for your VW/Audi. 5 stars always earned :)

  • Rob M

I recently brought in a 2001 Passat that would not start. Unfortunately, the motor had seized and a new engine would be required. I decided to just have the car towed to Auto Wreckers. Westside Automotive then offered to remove the new tires, new battery, and new stereo at no charge as well as arrange for the towing. They went above and beyond helping me and I will definitely be back for any service in the future

  • Megan D

My boyfriend is a huge car guy, and he likes to all his work himself. This shop has been absolutely AMAZING at working with him to get him the parts he needs, when he needs them. When other shops said 2-3 week wait, they were able to get the parts by the end of the week or in a few days. My boyfriend cannot stop raving about this place to everyone he knows! Amazing workmanship and service, 10/10 would recommend.

  • Aaron Gow

I cant say enough about Westside Automotive. I recently brought my Audi in there with a carboned up engine, and a few other problems. Not only are they super awesome to deal with, but my car runs great. Rob was very good to deal with and kept me in the loop with my engine problems. He showed me before and after pictures of my carboned up engine. Their mechanics did an excellent job. Thank you very much Rob.

  • Toa Pohatu

Love this place. Bring all the work I don't want to do to these guys and they always deliver. Even if I have a question to ask about self repair I haven't been turned away on the phone. Had work done to fix my drivers window, couple days later it was broken again. In the shop next day, repaired under warranty and fixed. If you own a VAG group car this is the shop. Will always recommend to my peers .

  • Marten Skupien

I've always had excellent customer service and repairs done properly for both my Audi and my VW by Rob and the boys and girls at Westside. I have built a healty relationship with this shop over the last few years and have always been treated fairly. if one has a vw, or an audi and want a trustworthy shop that will never over sell, and educate you on what your car needs, this is the place.

  • M E

This shop is phenomenal. If you own a Volkswagen Auto Group vehicle I strongly suggest you bring it to this shop. Fair prices, unlike the stealerships. They genuinely love these cars as much as you do and are honest, transparent and most importantly thorough. They will go the extra mile to make sure you are satisfied. I cannot tell you how pleased I am with their work. You will be too.

  • Ian Barker

Recently purchased a VW Westy and took it into Westside for an inspection and some other work that needed to be done. Had a little hiccup on the timeline, but with Covid the way it is and people getting sick, I get it! Anyhow, they did communicate well and really pushed to get the job done on the revised timeline. Appreciate their hard work and I highly recommend this business.

  • x Lane

The remote locking mechanism for my 2007 VW stopped working. Richard gave me phone instructions on a possible fix... and it worked! VW dealership in Surrey BC suggested a replacing the batteries, and that did not work. VW dealership in Edmonton wanted to run a $175 diagnostic. Richard fixed it for free... over the phone! Thanks a million Richard see you soon for new brakes!

  • Stix Stix

Didn't even get to bring my vehicle there because I asked for some things to be done and they never responded. Then followed up and I still have just been told there busy and they would get back to me an still haven't heard from them going on over a month now so I won't recommend or trust my vehicle with people who can't even give me simple answers.

  • John B

I've had 2 experiences with Westside Automotive in the last few years, in particular with Rob, that have been absolutely exceptional. And even today he took time out of his busy day (he certainly didn't have to) to have a back-and-forth over the phone with me that proved highly insightful, reasonable and pleasant. Can't say enough. 5 big stars.

  • Benjamin Sanders

As the owner of an old VW Vanagon, I've been to a lot of different shops all over Canada/USA and I can definitively say that the team at Westside is THE BEST I've ever come across. They've come through BIG TIME for me 2 years in a row. It's a real FAMILY. They CARE. They make MAGIC happen. I couldn't recommend them more strongly. THANK YOU!

  • Nathan Storey

I live in fort mcmurray and so often i have to work with the staff to find time to drop my car off, and let me tell you the customer service this crew achieves is like none other. I have never dealt with a more fair, reliable, and professional team. Their work is top notch and i recommend if you drive a volkswagen or audi to see these guys!

  • Emilio J.

I brought my A4 to Westside Automative because of air bag passenger light problems. The process to repair the issue was a genuine one and was explained in detail by Rob from start to finish. For such a simple issue most shops won't even have a code or not want to deal with your German car. Definitely coming back. Thanks !

  • Hussein Masri

Great place, if only I knew of it earlier! I love the fact that it's a family owned business even my dad brought his Volkswagen here over 10 years ago. Great prices, less than dealer costs for the same work, if not better. Staff is great and the location is convinient I would highly recommend this to anyone who owns a VW.

  • Victor Gore

I’ve bought wheels from westside automotive before and they seemed like some pretty nice people; however, I’ve had issues with my Jetta which I took there for a diagnostic and believe the problem was misdiagnosed as crank position sensor, because I got my sensor changed and my car still had the same problems as before

  • Anthony P.

After dealing with various issues with different dealerships I brought my Audi over to Westside Automotive after being referred by a friend. The staff at Westside are extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Additionally, their pricing is very fair. As long as I have a VW or Audi I will not take my car anywhere else!

  • CIARAN K

I recently purchased a 2002 GTI 337 and Rob was very helpful in getting the parts I needed. Once the car is on the road I will be bringing it in the shop to get serviced. Highly recommend Westside Automotive, The shop was recommended to me by a friend who is the GM at a local Volkswagen dealership. 5 stars!

  • Devin Goodall

Best German vehicle shop in town. Helpful in every way. The technicians are very skilled and quick. That's where you save lots of money compared to somewhere else, I think. A 3 hour job for some one else is 1 hour for these guys. And best of all your not jerked around here, no bs straight to business.

  • Ryan Wimbleton

Westside got me CV axles for my Golf GTI when no one else in the city could find stock. Turns out i didnt need the axles and they accepted my return a week or two later. Very easy and pleasant to do business with, will recommend this place to anyone looking for parts / service for their VW.

  • Thomas Hennig

This was our first visit to the shop and we received excellent service .Tammy was very detailed in her explanation about what was needed to be done. I Definitely will be back . Very happy our friend referred us to Westside auto. Thanks again for all you have done. Thomas and Tina

  • Mike Smith

Dealt with Westside 4 or 5 years ago, and service and pricing was good. I recommended Westside to a friend, he spoke to them 4 times each time they said we're busy will get yr quote out to you by the end of the day. He's checked his junk and spam, still no quote..He's given up

  • Jan

Great shop but I really need someone to contact me about getting my car back right now. If you check your Facebook page messages my number is there. Or come straight down to the shop. Update: Thanks, Rob! You're an on-the-ball business owner and got us on our way quickly.

  • Mike Bottreau

The staff took great care of my little Golf R. Very professional, they get the job done right with a decent rate as well. Only reason why it’s 4-star is because I was asked to get a quote for my shocks and I never received said email. Happens when you’re really busy. :)

  • Sir Canada

My experience was very poor service. They can do a lot better, I waited days to get a quote On some repairs and never heard back. . A lot of humming and hawing from assistant manager I made several attempts to get some answers and zilch Will take business elsewhere.

  • Brandon Leaman

I've been to this shop multiple times and swear by it! Staff is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, Rob knows a great deal and a tech by the name of Austin always does the job to a T. Safe to say they're the best shops around! I will most definitely be back.

  • J L

The guys and gals here are great. When things aren't known, they'll put the work into finding what's wrong and fixing it. Had nothing but great service and experiences with them for nearly a decade now. Highly recommended, fair pricing, exceptional service.

  • Stephanie Saelens

I have an older vw golf 2006 and they always take the time to make sure there doing there best to diagnose and repair when needed they always call before fixing anything and usually give multiple options would def recommend. Great service indeed.

  • David Haley

Super friendly and helpful staff. Provided fantastic information for older air cooler Volkswagen projects that I have on the go. Even when parts weren't locally available, located some from other suppliers and got all the info to have it ordered.

  • J Shelast

Took my Passat to them because of underboost condition. I explained that there was a vaccum leak but they said they need to put $200 worth of parts and then go from there. Charged me basically to check an engine code which i already had done.

  • Tom William

I am very happy with the level of respect and customer service I've received over at West Side. The labour has been great, definitely appreciate the level of knowledge Rob has at the front desk. Will be back to service my car there routinely.

  • Noel Dwarika

I been using this shop for over a decade! I can't believe there is a review lower than 5 stars!! We'll always own a VW & Audi just for the pleasure of taking it to Westside! We even brought our cars here when we loved in Manitoba!!

  • Chad Mulchand

Great service. Honest. Straight forward. Very knowledgeable. Great shop. Highly recommend. They`ve taken care of my Mark V Jetta (2006 Jetta Sedan Tdi) more than once. Brakes. Engine mounts, and little issues here and there.

  • DarkoRadmila Djurisic

At the busiest time of the year, just before Christmas, they were so nice to take my car and fix it in less than 24 hours. For other places, I would have to wait until January. Thanks for being so efficient and helpful.

  • BBK Kings

We used to take all our FAMILY VW's here, but the service isn't the same as it used to be. Some people here don't seem to care not to help retain our business. Please improve this and your customer service experience.

  • dilip kumar

I bought timing belt and head gasket for my 2000VW JETTA TDI. They have the cheapest price and good quality parts actually they were made in Germany not China. And all the parts that I bought are in stock.

  • M3

Got a Volkswagen auto group product go to westside automotive, best prices and best service, definitely my new go to shop for all services. Transmission flush and fill Audi A6 is the service they performed

  • Loveleen

Amazing job. I would highly recommend this place for any kind of car service. Got my car fixed in a very short time. Thank you westside automotive team. Also, thanks tammy for amazing customer service..

  • Ben Cabush

I've been taking my VW into Westside for a couple years now, and every single experience with them has been positive. They're knowledgeable, honest and all around great to deal with. Highly recommend.

  • - mital

I recommend westside auto to any audi/vw owners. Rob and his team are beyond professional when it comes to these vehicles. The dealership quoted me 4k in repairs (not including some cosmetic repairs)

  • Crajjg Corjan

Westside auto was always good to me no complaints always quick service usually one of the cheaper options because they give you alot of options Rob the owner is a great guy so is the whole crew.

  • J

Had a person I know have servicing done there awhile back. He paid for it after being told was done but was not after being checked by another mechanic. Hopefully this business has changed.

  • Sebastian Postica

Came in with an A4 and the staff was very happy to help me, my father has been with this location for a while now and I can see why. Very professional and know all about VW and Audi’s.

  • raven sulaiman

Vw audi specialist. Highly recommended, very impressed with staff assistance and recommendations, quality work and all honesty. Rob is really good at what he does!

  • Shane

This shop is one of kind... Of a dying breed of honest and caring mechanics. These guys don't play games and will treat your car like it is their own!

  • J Lau

Left a message looking for a call back for an appointment. They must have all the business they need because they don't return calls. Thier loss...

  • Brett Schneider

Rob and his crew are amazing! Been coming to Westside for a decade and they are always my go-to. Your euro vehicles are in the best hands!

  • Rani Chauhan

Good place to take your vehicle for reasonable price if u drive an audi. They explain everything and I was out of there in one hour.

  • BOB LOBLAW

They're good. Switched to these guys about a year ago and happynwithnthe change I feel more comfy with VW specialists anyway …

  • Tanya Arsenault

Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Went above and beyond to help fix my car! 100% would recommend!
