In my 70 years of occasionally needing a hospital, this was the worst experience of all. I fell and broke my leg in Feb 2021 and was taken by ambulance to City Hospital. Problems began almost immediately. The nurse that was apparently in charge of my care could not remember how many pink vials of blood were needed for the COVID PCR test, so she just took one vial and said she would come back for the second vial if they needed it. The lab told her they needed two, so she came back for the second. But, by that time the IV nurse had already removed the port they used to draw blood and was now putting in the IV port they would use for drugs, etc. The nurse grabbed it and tried to fill the vial, but in the process, she blew out the blood vessel and it immediately started bleeding under my skin. The IV nurse was not happy about that and she had to start a new port not to mention that it left me with a very sore bruised hand for days. Seriously, a year into COVID and you don’t remember how many vials the lab needs! Then the x-ray tech came in for my leg x-rays. I started to take a photo of the x-ray screen to send to my wife so that she could see what happened. The tech stepped between me and the screen and said “you can’t do that…it is against hospital policy”. Really, it is my leg and my x-ray! They never gave me those x-rays. They put a temporary fiberglass cast on my leg and sent me home with a note to call a doctor they recommended the next day to make an appointment for surgery. When we called the doctor, he was astounded and upset because he was on call that night but the ER did not notify him that I was there. He rushed right over to the hospital to look at my x-rays. He called us back and said that I needed immediate surgery which he set up for that evening. Also, the cast that the ER put on my leg caused additional injury to me. My wife was in the waiting room (ER knew) but was not kept up to date with what was going on. My granddaughter, waiting with my wife, mentioned to the guy at the counter in the waiting room that several people were not wearing masks as required. He responded to her with “that’s not my job”. A few minutes later he came out from behind the counter, walked over to her, and asked very loudly for her to point out who was not wearing a mask. He could clearly see for himself, but he decided to humiliate her instead. My wife and granddaughter also told me that the waiting room was very filthy. In summary, the staff at this hospital are rude and incompetent, and the place is filthy. After discussing this with the surgical doctor, we set up my surgery at a Baylor facility which was great. I put this information in the survey they send you after your visit. Over 6 weeks now and no response from them. Clearly they don't care!
My mother is a covid patient at City Hospital. She is very sick not only with covid but pneumonia and cdiff. She was transported via ambulance last Thursday and was admitted at some point to ICU. Since being a patient at City, we have had little to no updates from the staff provide care for our mother. I have had to sit in the lobby at the hospital for someone to come down to give me some kind of report. After admission I did not know if she was intubated or on any life support. She was so very sick when they took her away. We have made numerous calls and left numerous messages with other staff to have the Dr or nurse call us for an update. The Dr reported to other staff he had been giving us daily calls, but we have never received a call from him. Only after going back to the hospital and sitting in the lobby waiting to speak to the nursing supervisor then we received one call from the Dr. Again we are at leaving multiple messages and not one is calling us to give us updates on our mom. Again she is a covid patient. One would think that since this pandemic started family have not been able to go be with their loved ones while very sick, near death and even in death. We have to rely on the eyes and ears of the staff to give up updates. We are not unrealistic in expecting a daily phone call. You can not tell me in 1 24 hour people someone on staff can not call a family member to provide a update. I am at my wits end and do not know where else to turn. Also, there has been a HIPPA violations. I have left a voicemail explaining I wanted to report a HIPPA violation to the appropriate person. That voicemail was left Tuesday morning. I still am waiting on a call back from Bob Larie the Quality Officer. Release of medical information is against the law. HIPP laws are in place for a reason. Although I believe the COO of City Hospital of White Rock is trying to rectify the lack of communication about my mother, and after he made some calls to the charge nurse and the director of case management. He said I would be receiving a call in 5-10 minutes from the nurse that was taking care of my mom. It has now been over 6 hrs and I have yet to receive a call. This is very disappointing they still have not called me with an update. All we are expecting is good communication since we are not allowed to see our mom.
We had our baby in September 2021. We requested for the bill on the day we were discharged and they told us it would be sent to our insurance. Despite several calls and follow-up calls, we did not get the first bill until a month later. The bill was duplicated and $40k was sent for the mother's delivery bill alone. The insurance eventually negotiated the bill and it still came to around 19k with us being charged the deductible on the bill at over $6600. On speaking to a representative of the hospital, I was advised to request for negotiation to see if the hospital would reduce our personal charge. Big mistake, we had to wait for over 4months with consistent calls and responses that they would get back to us. The bill came back and no reduction was granted. Total waste of time! The baby's bill was not sent until 5 months after delivery. This time some items on the bill were duplicated and some were grossly inflated. The baby's bill sent was 28k excluding the initial 19k from the Mother's bill. Like charged hospital room twice for a specific day and claim the care for the day was why the room fee was doubled. Also charged $9k for using the facility for circumcision after paying the doctor's office differently. This does not include payments to the doctors that attended to the baby during this period. All receipts are available and I am happy to provide this. We queried these bills and they claim $9k is the standard bill for circumcisions (can anyone explain how you charge 9k for circumcision when the average rate in the US is $2500). The duplicated room charge was because the baby received extra attention. Someone, please save me!!! To think they are in-network and the fees are supposed to be discounted. I will advice anyone reading this to reconsider using this hospital as they are out to extort and frustrate you. Altogether, birthing our baby in this facility came with a charge of 47k ($19k + $28k) excluding procedural payments to the doctor which was paid out of pocket differently. Total cost over 50k + for a baby delivery. The total out-of-pocket cost to me is over 15k considering I have insurance. Please do note the child did not undergo surgery or have any complications. The baby only spent 4days at the hospital. This is my worst healthcare experience in the US.
Warning! Warning! Seniors....I finally have the strength to share. 10 months ago I took my wonderful mother to the emergency room. My sister and I wanted to take her to another hospital out of concern, her Kidney physician recommend this place, because he was there... My precious Mom received minimum care, staff stressed out, I visited every day from 3-5, unfortunately we took her there, the Social Worker from day 2 was trying to get her out to skilled nursing immediately, even openly accused old people get comfortable and don't want to leave, what ? Mom never wanted to be in the hospital 89, strong tough!, SW asked everyday if we made a choice, on 5th day she was released to nursing center for "rehab" for 20 days, but I would not get to see her, well you guessed it, less than 56 hours, heart gave out from the infections per the attending physician at another hospital where she had been transported after heart failure, that was it....The SW at this hospital was so vague on when she was being transported, all I got to see was her being loaded into transportation as I ran across the parking lot to say goodbye...Mom had shared with the skilled nursing center she felt she had been released to soon.. Of course at that point this hospital, skilled nursing center all become quiet and reluctant to release info...all a mystery, I did get a condolence from her Kidney Physician, tried to make it clearer of what he felt she died from, different than attend Phys, but just his opinion as he wasn't there....just another Senior shuffled in the system is how they made me feel, but this was a loving, caring, valuable Mom...
I can not recommend this hospital to anyone. Worst ever communication. This is the first time ever I seen where the surgeon did not report back to us after surgery. It even a word from a nurse or anyone. We arrived at the hospital at 6:40am. My daughters surgery was scheduled for 12:15. From the time they took her back we never heard another word from anyone. We were at that forsaken place for more than 10 hours and no word. Surgery was only to take 2 hours. Finally I started calling the hospital about 5:30 or so. We had been waiting in our car this whole time. I left a message for someone to call me. Not s word. Her husband was in the waiting room all this time. Again no word. How unprofessional and lame is this. I was beginning to think something had gone wrong with the surgery. Finally at 6:00 i went in to the hospital to request answers. The two men at the entrance we’re so helpful. There were the only ones to get me answers. My sincere thanks goes out to them. Finally between 6:00 and 6::30 I received information that they were putting my daughter into a room. Again her husband didn’t even get any communication from anyone. Worst hospital ever. I can see why you only gave a 2 star rating. If I had know this before we would have NOT been there. You need some serious help in maintaining this hospital. Never again
Had my baby here in February. My morning nurse didn’t seem to know what she was doing luckily the Dr who did my epidural did. Because she did not check the band she put on me concerning my allergy and he stopped her. I ended up having a C-section and they was so rough when moving me. I did not receive a belly band or much of anything to take home luckily I brought all my own stuff because the first 24 hours they had me using a bed pad as a pad on top of using the bed pad as a pad the nurse informed me I needed to get up to walk all while they had still not removed my catheter and I had to continue to ask when they was removing it so I could get up. While Dr roc was awesome I didn’t see her again the weekend a on call ob pretty much took over my care for the weekend I don’t remember his name but he was awesome and I wish I was seeing him the whole pregnancy. While I might have had a bad experience the ladies in the nursery taking care of the babies were absolutely amazing they loved on my baby and didn’t seem irritated once when I needed their help changing her etc because I couldn’t get up due to the catheter. I think it was just hit and miss and hope some of the things have been worked out sense our stay
Horrible experience. I hate that I didn’t get any of the nurses names because I would post hem right here. I had to get an epidural because my baby’s heart rate dropped. Right after that his heart had completely stopped. This one particular nurse came in yelling at me to roll over because they figured he was on his cord. Well I’m numb so how am I to roll over on my own? She was screaming at me as I’m crying because I was scared. Fast forward to the end. After the emergency C-Section, she tried apologizing but the damage was done. But another nurse came in and I could barely walk from the surgery. She expected me to do everything. I had to change my own bed pads. It was ridiculous. She even said I’d clean my own bathroom after I started walking good. It was all bad. One nurse was like 6-7months pregnant helping me in bed, cleaning me off. I mean she went the extra mile and I loved her for that. I told her not to do so much being that she was pregnant but she stated ITS MY JOB SWEETIE<3 Lastly, Dr. Elizabeth Ramirez was AMAZING! She did everything she could to make sure my baby boy and I was ok. She was supposed to be on vacation but came when she heard about my baby’s heart rate dropping.
The emergency room is the sorriest of all of the hospitals there is in Dallas that I know. My boyfriend was taken there by ambulance, because of his left hip that he had a metal on metal replacement surgery on years back & now it's dislocated where he can't even move his left leg. The orthopedic doctor that saw him 1) laughed at him about it, 2) told him nothing was broken, so he would be sent home even though he needed to have Surgery again on it, 3) told him basically him that they don't care about him not being able to move his leg to climb up two flights of stairs or doesn't have any way to get home since he can't drive, 4) the nurse hung up on me three times, because she didn't want to listen to anything that I was saying, & 5) they want to send home/him to leave even though he doesn't have anyway to get home. If I wouldn't have had to give a star I wouldn't have given even one. I'll never use that hospital for any medical care even if they were the hospital in Dallas thankfully they're not the only one. Heck Parkland is better than them even before they had the new one built.
Bad experience with this hospital. I was brought by the ambulance and waited 4 hours. When they said it wasn't a long wait. I was injured on a car accident and they treated me bad. Once we arrived an African American young lady said what is this? Made an ugly face and comment. I know they see a lot of people but if they are not happy working there. They should go to their house and not work. Keep their ugly attitude at home. For some reason I was given a full sheet of labels with my name. Until I noticed no one had that paper with them. I went to ask and the receptionist said sorry they need this to call you. I waited forever when I was discharged I heard my name and they said here's paperwork to fill out. I said I'm leaving already and they haven't checked me in. How was I seen by the doctor had x-rays CT sca and I wasn't registered. I Will never return here. Also security lady at the ER entrance didn't wear her mask correctly her nose wasn't covered and there is sign that says face mask required. Very disgusting hospital very dirty.
I recently had surgery here on 12-17-18, everything was absolutely wonderful except one of the nurses I had. My first nurse was wonderful! She was extremely sweet and helped me out more than i would imagine. Unfortunately the next morning i woke up to a new nurse who obviously hated her job. She woke me up stating I needed to get up and walk, i asked her to help me... she said no. So after i got out of bed by myself with my new five incisions in my abdomen. After crying from the pain of having to get up by myself, she proceeded to tell me she needed to give me a shot in my stomach. She lifted my robe a stabbed me with the shot. I still have a bruise that is the size of a fifty cent piece. I showed my sister, who is a nurse, the bruise and she told me that i needed to call and let someone know because the shot should have never made that large of a bruise, and it shouldn’t have even left a mark at all. She made my recovery there terrible. Her bedside manner was AWFUL, rude, and unprofessional.
This place should have more training in caring and compassion for mentally ill people that can't make rational decisions. I wouldn't even give a one star. They released my mentally ill sister in law without anywhere to go. No money or phone and she had covid and a UTI. Despicable and nurse I spoke with was horrible and completely irresponsible. She kept insisting we come get her and bring her to our home when my husband and I are both high risk for covid. They only needed to keep her for the night and then the nursing home would transfer her to another sister unit the next morning. They could have a law suit on their hands if something happens to my sister in law. This is completely unacceptable. I tried calling and the phone rang several times before I hung up. My time is important also. If my review is so important then why don't you answer the phone? If you really want to fix this problem send me a direct number or link to speak to someone specific.
Can you believe.... I gave birth to my son there and the nurse they had watching me was rude? My first born, and a BAD experience. They gave me an epidural to ease the contraction pain, but I started to feel it again so I guess I didn't get enough. I told the nurse and she was just sitting there typing. I told her again and she basically tried to tell ME I wasn't having pain! I asked her, "do you see it on the screen?" She said yes..Okay then that means I'm having contractions! She gave me a SECOND epidural. During the birth process she "helped" the doctor. It took a long time for my son to come out. I was pushing and at one moment, she actually rolled her eyes at me and walked off. While I'm pushing him out! Because he was taking a long time to be born.. Can you imagine? Cant remember her name, she was a Mexican lady. Then after he was born, when my son was sick, I took him to the emergency room and ANOTHER nurse got an attitude. I just can't...
The worst hospital experience ever! My husband was brought in to this hospital via ambulance due to extreme side and back pain . Jackie put the wrong wristband on my husband , there were only 3 patients in the waiting area , ( us being the 3rd) so when she made her way over to place the correct band on him I guess she expected him to jump up for joy to see her . Understand my husband was in extreme pain and agitated already. She proceeded to stare him down with a disgusting look on her face. The nurse taking his vitals was no better Cylinda had a terrible attitude as well. So we quickly left this hospital and came to Baylor Hospital which is where we should have went to begin with. I called and was transferred to a voicemail of someone who i could speak with in regards to our visit today, called twice actually , no answer or a call back! STILL HAVE NOT HEARD BACK AND IT HAS BEEN OVER A WEEK. the RESPONSE FROM THE OWNER was only added b
BEST HOSPITAL EVER. I’ve been here several times & the staff have always been so helpful and nice. Seriously love this hospital. I just had my baby and was here for 4 days and ALL the nurses and staff were SO nice. My baby had to stay a week & the nurses and doctors that took care of her and watched her were also SO awesome. The last hospital I had my son at the staff was kinda rude and didn’t even help me get up to walk or shower. Here, they ALL helped me and were constantly checking on me and helping out, I chose to breastfeed and the nurses were super happy and were really nice and encouraging about my choice. . The food is even good here. I heard this hospital might be getting bought out by another place or something?! Not sure but I really hope they don’t change anything about it cause I just love being able to go somewhere so awesome like this.. if I have an emergency or a baby. Shout out to all the nurses and doctors here!
Our mother came here for pain and nausea and they admitted her into the hospital. I will say this is the WORST hospital I have ever seen in my entire life! None of her nurses knew what was going on with her nor could tell us anything! For 4 days we were treated like nuisances! When we came in this morning the nurses at the station muttered oh here we go again which was very unprofessional! Im sorry if im paying vlose attention to her treatment...that is my mother i should! When she was not receiving proper care. Nobody bathed her for 4 days. She became loopy and incoherent to the point that she couldn't tell us anything herself which tells me they were obviously overmedicating her with something. She would ask someone to help her go to the restroom and it took them so long she nearly crapped herself. I tell everyone PLEASE do NOT bring your loved one here! I would not bring my worst enemy here. This hospital should be shut down!
I had surgery at this hospital and was admitted for one day post op. I received excellent care. The ladies that took my information in admitting were very helpful. The RN that did my pre-op teaching was very thorough and even worked me into her busy schedule do do my Covid test because I couldn't find an outside clinic that could schedule me in time for my surgery. The pre-op nurses and techs were thorough and caring, taking the time to keep me as informed and comfortable. The anesthesiologist and CRNAs that I met pre-op went to great lengths to educate me on what to expect and were very kind while performing my block, making certain that I was comfortable as possible. The Recovery nurses and floor staff were kind and pro-active in caring for my needs. The phlebotomists were always spot on and cheerful. The meals were great and the facility was impeccable. I received EXCELLENT care throughout out my entire stay.
I had my daughter last week at city hospital and I really wish that I could give this hospital more than 5 stars. The l&d nurses, the nursery nurses, doctors... everyone was amazing! I was really nervous to deliver at a hospital that I had never been to but I’m so grateful for these people. Even the food was decent! I didn’t think I’d ever say that about hospital. The nurse I had on my last day will forever be my favorite person. I wish I could have remembered her name, but I had some serious painkillers in there, sorry! I wish I could do more to show my gratitude to everyone there but I hope a good review will be enough. If you’re nervous about delivering here, don’t be at all. These people are so amazing. The only 1 star review I can give is the beds. The beds were awful but that’s kind of a given for hospital. Thank you everyone in l&d and the nursery.
I came in through the emergency room and the staff there where good. They will tell you that Covid is rampant through out the facility but except for face mask they don't try to separate you from other patients. I was admitted to the 4th floor and told that a Cardiologist would be seeing me the next morning and a echocardigram would be done the next morning. I was told throughout the next day that it would be done but it wasn't until the following day and I'm still waiting.... Most of the nurses are very hard to understand and they don't explain things properly or even at all, unless hounded. Ive tried escalating my frustration and it's been dismissed over and over. Along with not being able to hunt down charge nurses or doctor's since we aren't allowed to leave the rooms due to covid. The whole experience has been very frustrating.
I had my son here on 11/1/2016. I was induced on Halloween at 5am from the moment I got to this hospital all the people who attended me were great nurses who worked 12 hr shifts and to the anesthesiologist who gave me my epidural were amazing. They accommodate me in every way possible made me feel relaxed and at home for the days I was there. Then after baby came those nurses were amazing as well answered any and all my questions made sure I wasn't in any pain made sure baby was doing great he stayed with me the whole time he never went to the nursery. The rooms are nice and comfortable for you and spouse and food was actually good as well. I give this hospital 100 percent because of the dedication they have my dr Elizabeth Ramirez was amazing as well through our the whole pregnancy as well as when I delivered.
I’ve never felt so out of place and disrespected. The registration ladies were sweet, however the nurse you see before your being walked back to a room was very RUDE. she over talked me, didn’t allow me to finish my sentences or allow me to ask questions to understand what she was asking me. When she realized I started being quiet and starring at her because she was rude she said I apologize that I may sound stern or rude it’s just I am trying to figure out what’s wrong with you. Well if you let me talk I can explain. I felt as though since I lost my job and have to settle for Medicaid at the moment that this was my first encounter of getting the treatment that I hear people talk about. Even the nurse didn’t wanna treat me once I got back to back. If you have Medicaid I do not suggest you going here.
I had a great stay at this hospital! I had a medical procedure on a Tuesday morning and was required to stay overnight, so I was discharged the following Wednesday later in the afternoon. After looking at some of the reviews I was very worried about staying here. So much so that I brought up the issue to my doctor who assured me that they perform procedures at this hospital all of the time and have never had any issues. Well I can say personally that I was highly impressed. Yes the facilities may be a little dated, but every member of the staff I encountered was very nice and professional and everywhere that I accessed was nice and clean. The nurses on the floor I stayed on tended to me around the clock. The few times I needed to ring my bell for assistance someone was there within a couple minutes.
If I could give them 0 stars I would. Very unprofessional, I brought my daughter in for what seemed to be an allergic reaction just for them to have us sit in the ER for 4 hours. When we finally got seen we didn’t even get a room, the “doctor” called us into the hallway and said “what’s the problem” which I proceeded to show her body which was covered in hives just for him to say “there’s nothing we can really do about that, we can just give her some ibuprofen but it looks like a infection make sure to keep an eye on it so it doesn’t get worse” they gave her Tylenol and they gave me discharge papers. I should have went with my first gut and made the drive to Cook Children’s. Very sorry excuse for a hospital. I hope people really take these complaints seriously and do something about this hospital.
This hospital is terrible. Took my husband to er on 11/14/21, maybe 2 professional s there. They laugh, play talk out loud etc., And the charge nurse is right there, also the doctor. The doctor is very unprofessional in her uniform and communication and all. We got there around 1:00 that evening on 11/14/21. No one took his meds that we took, not even his blood pressure until around 7:30 that night. The doctor didn't give me a chance to explain his problem. Until I told her to take a ct of his brain. They did and saw that he had a hemorrhage in his brain.. than the charge nurse started taking his blood pressure which was 225/170. My husband could have died from the staff and all not being professional..not excepted. Finally had to transfer him to Baylor on Gaston at10:40 that night.
My wife went in through the emergency room and same day admitted in the hospital, they put her in the room after 9 hours waiting in ER. Got her settled in her room and I decided to go to work the next day, got a call from her that the were taking her to icu. She ended up being put on a ventilator and passed away the next day. This was December 29, 2022. To this day January 22, 2023, the doctor has not signed her death certificate so I can get her cremated. It has been over 3 weeks now and that is unacceptable. Worst place to go if you are about to die. Oh I have already received a bill, they seem not to have a problem billing you, but doing things that are necessary for family well being they have a big problem. I don't recommend ever stepping foot in this hospital.
Labor and delivery Morning and Day staff are super nice. If you get nurse Brianna, you are lucky! She was amazing!!! Super friendly. HOWEVER, beware of nurse Debbie(she worked Night Shift at the time)She is extremely unpleasant and had the audacity to try to belittle when requesting cup of ice water. She even went as far as try to intimidate by stating that she’s been there for however so many years and that she could basically act however she wanted. We had to request she never enter our room. The facility is out of date and rooms are small. They are clean and cleaning staff really do help a lot. This hospital also does not give care packages for mothers. However, you do get to take home a few items. Overall it’s a good place.
Worst hospital ever!!! Went there for chest pains and weakness and yea they helped me alright but no respect for me , but nurses sure take awhile to come to my room after pressing the nurse button so many times to come see what I want!!! I asked a nurse for water and never brought it,I asked one nurse for a heating blanket and never brought it.i asked another nurse if she can give me a remote for the tv in my room and never brought it,soo next day they decided to discharge me after I kept telling them I'm still feeling weak an chest still hurts. Nope!! They were so rude an wanted me gone! Worst place ever!!! I went home and felt worse and went to medical city hospital and was treated with respect and they helped me more!
Where indifference meets incompetence. The doctors don’t care. Mine is MIA right now. They don’t explain treatment plans, or even what they know about your health. I had a nurse tell me I have pneumonia from Covid. No one else mentioned it. They didn’t even recommend respiratory treatments. Also I’ve had 5 botched IV’s in 3 days, and I’ve got big bulging needle friendly veins. The last one they taped right in front of my elbow where I can’t bend it. Oh and the room is disgusting. Velcro floor like a frat house. I will probably be changing insurance companies when I’m done here because of how completely disappointed I am in the quality of substandard care I received here. Only one or two ppl seemed competent at all.
I spent 22 hours in the ER waiting for a room upstairs. When I finally got up to my room it was dinner time. I had not eaten in 26 hours. Lady from food service came in asked me my name and walked out. I called food service and left 2 messages, ca bottle alled multiple times no answer. Nurses dof idn't seem to know what to do except get mad at me because I was angry. Finally got a plate of leftovers around 8. At lunch the next day they did not bring me a tray. The nurse did call them. After 1 I finally got a tray (?). No drink. Ask the girl why I didn't get a drink? She had no clue. She finally brought me a bottle of water. Not sure where she got it. Very curious what I will get for dinner if anything.
My son came in with a cut on his elbow. They sown him up and discharged him without any pain medication. About an hour later, the pain returned. He is shaken because of the pain. I called the ER back and they stated that the hospital does not prescribe pain medications. I stated that I’m not looking for any narcotics for him, but am looking for something stronger than Tylenol or Advil. They still refused to to prescribe something and I’m on the phone, listening to my child suffer. The nurse prat was short with me and he even had to ask for a sling to help with the pain. This medical center was called “Doctor’s Hospital” back in the day. And still has the same bad reputation but with a new name.
I'm not sure why this hospital gets such poor reviews... I had an outpatient procedure performed here, today, and the entire staff from entry to exit was nothing short of kind, funny, accommodating, and helpful! The check in person was friendly and helpful, the staff of RNs i had prior to my surgery were all more than terrific... even bringing my husband a warmed blanket to wrap up in while he waited for me to get my procedure. The anesthetist was great, and my doctor (the only one I knew beforehand) is also nothing short of fantastic! I was processed, into and out of surgery, and released quickly with no lag. I had a great experience here and am grateful for the staff who were with me, today.
Our family member went to this hospital 4 days ago, with Covid. He had a very low oxygen level. They sent him home today with zero improvement and tonight his oxygen levels drop to 64. We had to call 911 again. He was NOT ready to be discharged. When we would call to get info on him the nurses would tell us they didn’t know. It would take many many times to get any info on him. Since he has Covid he couldn’t have visits. He soiled himself 3 times and was sitting in it for some time, until we called him and he told us, we had to call the nurse to help him. We don’t think this hospital is able to help their patients. I do not wish to EVER go to this hospital for help!!!!
My husband was in the ICU and by the grace of God along with the faith he made it because he was so sick and they didn't think he was going to live but with the faithh and the help and the hands of the nurses and doctors in this hospital he made it, they are so awesome and I recommend this hospital to everyone and I can't wait for him to complete get better in his rehabilitation center and come over here to meet the staff thathelped save him. The staff did not give up on my husband. No matter what anyone says they do not give up. Thank you to all the nurses and doctors. They kept him clean and I could go home and rest without worrying.
Hello, going to give my honest review. They took care of my mom, but they did the worse job. Every time my family and I had questions or concerns, they had no answers. My mom said she felt neglected, her need’s weren’t met, and the doctors and nurses there have no hospitality. This place has to be the worst hospitals you can go to in Dallas. If you have an emergency where you need to call 911, when they get to your home and suggest you to go this place, please, please, please suggest somewhere else. For your own safety and health, only writing this because I am concerned with this hospital.
Had my first child here and it was the most amazing experience ever. Reading the reviews had me scared at first but after staying here for 2 nights and 3 days I had to say the nurses treated me with respect and always asked what I needed. There were (5 nurses total plus my doctor) 2 nurses were in training while I was delivering which is a little weird at first but they all helped me since there was a lot going on. They had a great breastfeeding program that helped me very much when I left the hospital. The nurse came twice to make sure I didn't have any other concerns about breastfeeding.
Let’s start at the door. 1. No at the door for information 2. When the person did get there she was very rude. 3. I had to repeat myself multiple times asking where my mom room was in the ER. 4. She gave me wrong directions to room. 5. Dirty room, room smells awful, very unclean, dirty floors. Towels and rags in corner of the room. 6. Two employees walked in and said wrong room and just walked out. 7. Nurse drew blood and put it on the sink. Blood not stored properly without proper temp. Without name on labels or tubes. 8. Trash has not been taken out. I mean like come on. Get it together
I just had my baby here and it was a fantastic experience, a true dream labor. I came in shortly after my water broke and was promptly admitted into my room where nurses immediately started taking care of me and running the usual tests. I was in a lot of pain so I asked for an epidural and the anesthesiologist was very quick to come place it. Labor can be scary and I appreciated the support I got from my amazing nurses, they truly made this experience what it was. Recovery room was very nice and we were given meals three times a day. I would absolutely have another baby here.
Few medical issues, the worse chronic anxiety, that I would not wish on anyone. BS, BP, and anxiety clash occasionally. Transported via ambulance only to be met by rude ER doctor, asking why I came in. Really.... everything elevated and anxiety running rapid. Calmed down on my own thanks to the paramedic and nurses. Mental illness is real and I don't misuse my meds but I had being treated like a junkie and talked down to. Let there in faith and understand no circumstances will I go back. I know doctors and nurses are under a lot of stress, wish he would realize "WE" all are.
Worst attitude from "nurses". More infatuated with the "new" covid strain than trying to find out and test for what else could possibly be wrong with a person. No urine sample taken. Never saw a doctor. Corporate pig structured. They only "care" for those with astronomical insurance who's bills can be padded. There were directors walking around that very day asking staff why things weren't being taken care of and why sewage is backed up. Who is actually using this place as a cash cow? Do not come here if you're needing compassionate and thorough care.
Came to this place just so they could do a simple removal of staples from the back of my head, lady at the front desk looked at me like a deer staring into headlights, like was insane and then proclaimed that I had to go back to the original place that they put the staples in... Worst hospital in Dallas, can't even get service for simple staple removal. I ended up going back to the original hospital (Presbyterian on Walnut Hill) and I received awesome service, thank you Presbyterian. Thanks for absolutely nothing White Rock "medical center", I'm never going back
This is the worst hospital ever ! I went in today because the whole left side on my face is hurting ! From my ear to my throat! It hurts when talk swallow laugh open my mouth and even when I’m not doing anything! When I went in today checked they my ears and told me nothing was wrong ! Like if I’m telling you the pain is a 10/10 how could nothing be wrong !!! After that they just discharged me like huh ! Then got the nerve to get my insurance like they did something!!!!!! They didn’t do anything I’m still in pain! I did more for myself at home then they did
This hospital sent a very pregnant and sick woman home with an antibiotic. They did not examine her, they did NOT even bring in a Dr. The client was clearly having an allergic reaction to some bug bits. Massive welps and red splotches all over her skin, and they sent her on her way with NO ANSWERS, NO REAL HELP. Now she's having to go to a NEW Dr office to try and get some help. Especially so the baby is not put at risk. This hospital is a shame. Needs to be shut down. Waisting tax payers dollars just to not even help its own community.
The registration lady ignored us for about 5-10 minutes and skipped us in line and attended the person behind us. Very unprofessional and rude. On top of that they didn’t give my mom anything for her pain. She was in pain for about 1-2 hours before they offered her anything. They said it was her spleen that was enlarged but that wasn’t the case it was a gallbladder stone that was passing. Terrible medical staff and apparently they just hire anybody. Save yourself your time and go somewhere else they’ll just tell you the wrong diagnosis.
Great staff ! Everyone was super friendly and knowledgeable. I was nervous about the reviews going into my surgery , but the staff was very welcoming and eased any concerns I had. The surgical team was quick and efficient. Nurse Kathy, Brianna , and Yasmin had amazing bedside care. I was checked on at least twice an hour & offered various food/drinks. Very accommodating hospital and exceptional communication. Not sure what the other bad reviews are about , but I couldn’t find any faults with City at White Rock. Thanks !
Had a medical emergency and came to City Hospital. I hate hospitals in general because they're depressing, but my stay here completely changed my perspective. Amisha and Meagan from the fourth floor, and Chester and Carolina from the ER department are awesome. They made me feel at home. Very comforting experience overall and I can't thank these medical professionals enough. If I could give them a 10 star review I would. Keep up the good work, it's good people like you all that make the world a better place.
The service I got in the ER was slow but good. When I got admitted my experience was so much better. I've talked to Nurses, and Doctors as well as CT and MRI Techs They all have been great people to have taken such great care of me. I'd like to say Thank you to Amisha for being such a wonderful Nurse and Scott for doing such a great job with my .MRIs. you two have been so professional and also shown such caring and kindness to your patient. You two deserve the absolute best. Thank You Veronica Casas
I went there after experience vomiting up blood and they informed me that they found nothing and the doctor asked if I had bit my tongue and looked all in my mouth. I've never been so insulted in my life. The only thing they could offer was to monitor me on fluids. I did not stay after being insulted and them not finding anything. If anyone is vomiting blood and the hospital does a CT scan and can't find anything then they must not be looking closely at the CT scan, I would not be going back.
I had knee replacement surgery 06/14/2023. From check-in to check-out an A-plus experience. Everyone one I encountered was so pleasant, nice and informative. I wish I would written down the names to include everyone, but Lupita in pre-op, everyone in the operation room, Dr. Gemas, Lauren in post-op, Carmen and Rona? RNs, Linda, day tech and the night tech- i forgot her name...took such good care of me! They don't have an easy job, but they all were awesome! Thank you.
I was severely gaslighted here and sent home with something contagious and not at all feeling better. If you are indigent or disabled do not go here at all! It is a wonder this hospital hasnt been shut down. Never had a more terrible experience with a more pompous doctor. It seems that all we get is a generic response in here no matter how many 1 star reviews they get. I had to arrive byambulance and cannot afford to go anywhere else especially now.
I went to this hospital 3/6/2023 WRM center, had fever chills body aches gave me Tylenol half bag of liquids thur an IV.. Sent home paperwork Diagnosed with Anemia!! Follow up with PCP. Now I’m home with the same thing I went to the ER for!!!!! If I get worse! I will go to another ER!! Will contact my Insurance Company not to pay!! Plus will call my attorney!!! Not a Caring Hospital!! If I’m dying I will Die at home before I go there again !!!!
The delivery floor of the hospital has an amazing staff. My wife has delivered our 2 babies here, our daughter in 2019 and our son in 2022. They are very helpful along the entire process and have a fantastic program teaching new mothers how to breastfeed. The food is good, especially the celebratory meal that's given after childbirth. We have had nothing but positive things to say about the doctors, nurses and staff of the baby delivery floor!
My brother was admitted 2 days ago for a bad infection. Brianna, I think she said her title is patient care coordinator, has been the most professional of all that we have encountered here. She does an amazing job and keeps an excellent attitude. I only gave 3 stars because he sat in an ER room for 24 hours before being given a room upstairs. A couple of the RNs on the 4th floor have acted put out by his presence. Very unprofessional.
For the most part, I was pretty impressed with the hospital when I was admitted. The physician was incredible, really listened to me, and treated me great! The nursing staff was decent. There were a couple of nurses they could use some additional training. They provided me with pretty good care for the most part. The only down side was that it took them over 45 minutes to respond to my call light. But overall it was a decent hospital.
I came in this morning with breathing complications and chest pain and the staff was on it, immediately! Everyone was kind and I was worried they wouldn’t be because my aspiration pneumonia came from me being careless. I that was not the case. Nurses and staff were great. The doctor was short in time but it’s a urban area ED, it’s understandable! I almost didn’t go from the reviews but I’m very glad I did. I was well taken care of.
I delivered my baby a week ago and they were awesome! Gave me all the support I needed. All the nurses were so helpful and made sure to make me feel comfortable and answered all my questions. The breast feeding support nurses were incredibly helpful. They even called me a few day after I was discharged from the hospital to make sure everything was going well with my baby. I recommend you deliver your baby at this hospital!
I Was Just Discharged Yesterday From Labor & Delivery, All I Have To Say Is I ABSOLUTELY LOVE The Attention They Give❤ Ever Since I Got There, The Nurses Were Super Nice & Respectful ! (ALL), Doctor Was There When Needed, Anesthesiologist Was On Point & Great At Explaining Everything. Idk About The Rest Of The Hospital Itself But The L&D 5th Floor Has It All! Everyone There Is Just Amazing!! Much Love To All Nurses❤
I have delivered my 3 babies at this hospital. In 2016, 2019 and just 2 weeks ago. The service I have gotten here have always been good but they outdid themselves this time around since my delivery was unexpected. I went in with contractions and within 30 minutes I gave birth no epidural or anything. My doctor was not even there but the RN and nurses were all there to assist me. Best experience ever.
The surgeon here was spectacular Dr. Kahn! But the nurses and the time it takes to discharge is absolutely horrendous. I called my nurse at 9am and he still hasn’t come to my room it’s 11:40am. His name is Donald. I was suppose to be discharged at 9 and I’m still here. I won’t be returning to this hospital again. This happened the last time I had surgery here too. Discharge takes way too long.
I had labor and delivery in this hospital a few months ago. The food was good for hospital food, not only they would make sure i was eating. Also there care was remarkable they would go check up on me every almost every hour. Only thing is the room where i spent the 3 nights was small other then it ws pretty clean. Update this was on 05/17/2017 Back when this was Baylor hospital
Thank you SO much to all the fabulous staff and nurses! City Hospital White Rock deserves 5 stars. I was in the other day and had my emergency appendectomy before it ruptured. I felt like a princess and didn't want to leave. Everyone was so professional and my surgeon (Dr. Orji) was wonderful. The anesthesiologist was superb. I highly recommend this facility!
They did nothing for me no pain medication or nothing. Very rude the lady told me she don't care what I do about my kids at home but I have to leave...when I asked about a wheelchair cause I could barely walk she sat there and never brought me one and I never seen a Doctor. They are very disrespectful and all they are doin is laughing and playing in the ER.
I’ve been trying to reach my Doctor (Dr.Roc) for 2 weeks and have not been able to. I’ve left voicemails and emails and still no response. My last appointment was unexpectedly canceled and I never got any information as to why and never got a call to reschedule. I’m extremely disappointed because I really enjoyed having her as my doctor until now.
ER room took a while but it was during Covid so I guess that’s normal. I had gallbladder removal 3wks postpartum and the staff treated me so well! They let me borrow a breast pump from the delivery room. The staff was awesome & friendly. Did forget my jewelry after surgery & my husband had to dig in the trash for it but other than that cool staff
Nurse Rowan was hands down one of the best nurses I have ever encountered. Not only did she do her job she went above and beyond to comfort me during my time in the ER. It’s rare and I truly appreciated her and the rest of the staff as well. But she stood out. Having empathy goes a long way. Thank you so much Nurse Rowan.. Nakisha Holmes
Today I took my child to the ER around 11am. It didn't take me long to be seen, Connie was great at the reception office. The ER nurse was good as well. We saw the nurse practitioner she was awesome and very detailed. Yes sometimes is could be real busy. So far my family members has had a good experience. If not will do a survey or call.
Terrible ER . The nurses and doctors dont explain anything at all when we were asking questions . They also had a rude attitude the whole time ,and definitely do not know how to insert a iv . The place also has a nasty mess , bed sheets and pillowcases still had blood on them. I say avoid this hospital its super unprofessional
Had my baby here in July 2023. Everyone was really nice. Very helpful and awesome. The only thing I have to complain about was the bed I was in after delivery! Very uncomfortable and the mattress was so thin. After having a baby and being swollen down there, I would've wanted a better bed. I was READY to go home.
Though everyone has different experiences... my wife was treated with the utmost respect! Shubi, Princess, and the whole critical care team in ICU held my wife down!! When I left in between stays, I had nothing to worry about. Thank you! The service you all provide is much appreciated from myself and others!
If I could give them a negative one I would, the nurse was rude and called the police on my sister for asking a question and other things transpired last night. Citizens has civil rights for a reason and if anything happens to my mother I will see the entire staff in court. The hospital should be closed.
We live out of town and had my husbands total knee replacement at White Rock Medical Center. From the admission , pre op, surgery team, post op and recovery was an excellent, professional great experience. The food is very tasty also. I highly recommend their café. All in all the staff is phenomenal!
When you go to there hospital they always sat they don't have a room to put you in .Then they come out with your result and tell them in front open ppl e and that not right .And leàt you'll send bill out for stuff you have not recieve And the ER is the one going to put this hospital out of business
I left an employer I had been with for 14 years to come to WRMC and it has by far been the best decision I made, it feels like home and everyone treats everyone with respect. The senior leadership team is driven to improve both employee engagement and patient experience.
Husband has been there for almost 3hrs - brought in by ambulance in need of stitches and hasn't even been brought to the back!!! Don't come here unless you're ready to die. Matter of fact, just stay home and die there in peace, don't waste your last few moments here!
My Labor and Delivery experience was amazing. The nurses were very attentive and extremely nice and helpful. The room was nice, had a great view and our own bathroom. I had my first baby in June 2023 and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience.
This hospital are awesome and all nurses and doctors did very awesome job ! and took good care of me . I want to thank you Heart doc. Frenkel have save my life. I love this hospital and awesome foods and very clean . I will come back here again.
I have read various negative reviews about the Emergency Room service at this hospital. Yes, the facilities are rustic and you are pretty much triaged like a can of sardines. However, I believe the staff (front desk, insurance lady, nurses,
Hospital staff gave my fiancé a medication that they were told several times not to administer (told the EMTs, ER nurses and doctors and her treatment team). I said the medicine causes psychological episodes. Told them this was confirmed by
The doctor was great .the young man was great..But the lady with the short brown hair with the glasses whom discharged ROOM 7.gone tell us I'm trying to see about my patients who just came in on the ambulance. Honey and what the hell are we
My husband had to pay for an ER visit that my insurance later fully covered. I've been trying to get a refund from City Hospital since April 2020 and still haven't seen the money. Everytime I call to get an update, I get told my refund has
If I could give a negative star I would! I’m still waiting on the Safety and Compliances Coordinator to give me a call regarding my father! Had my mother brought to the er yesterday @4 and she is still in the er! Asked for case management
This is the worst hospital I have ever had to deal with, were from Arkansas and my family member was taken there by ambulance, he was traveling through Dallas, the rudest bunch of nurses 1/22/22, they gave me a code number to use when my
My wife just had our baby daughter at Doctors Hospital, which is now Baylor Scott&White. I did read reviews before the delivery and I won't lie, it did worry me. Now that I've had first hand experience... I'm happy to say that the whole
Sandra a nurse on Surgical Suites 2nd Floor Is Amazing Person And It Was A Blessing Meeting Her!! She had to attend to more then 5 patients apart from attending to me and she was just back and forth!! The whole time she was there and it
WORST HOSPITAL EVER ! Dosent event deserve 1 star. They broke my grandmas ribs gave her bed sores and now shes deceased. Worst experience of my life, very dirty hospital and just not a place for care. Needs to be shut down immediately
Atrocious. I would never recommend anyone to go there. I was in distress and hemorrhaging for 10 hours before the nurse took me seriously and paged the dr on call. Then needed second surgery and placed in ICU for blood transfusion
I had surgery on 12-5-22 and was on floor 2 in room 290. The nurses were nothing less then perfect. They announced when they came into the room and the same with during the night. They made me feel very comfortable and respected.
The only hispanic front desk at ER LIED to us and had us wait 5hrs! Kept telling us they would call us back to see my grandmother. Finally her shift ended and another lady immediately helped us said she was already up at the room
The ICU is very kind and caring! The woman over the ICU unit “IJ” was very considerate and brought the whole waiting room(family) some of their complimentary chick fil a. Very thoughtful and kind medical care!
Love my doctor, to bad she uses this hospital. The billing department does not know what they are doing. They don't even know what they are billing you for. They tell you that it is for your deductible, but
HORRIBLE!!! and Jason in H.I.M Dept is very rude! If you dont like your job then quit and find one that is not in the Medical field and dealing with people that need copies of their own medical records!
My wife had surgery Monday 11/22/2021 By Dr hodges for a hernia. And that went well thank God I stayed 2 days with my wife on the 2nd floor rm #271 and first nurse was great. But after she left it
Understaffed and some nurses rude. Had to be in ICU for a few days. Food was worse than imaginable. Everything always running behind. Nurses bad-mouthed other nurses and staff. Very unprofessional.
Everyone was so nice and knowledgeable!! Jasmine was so great and helped explain not only my symptoms and how they correlate but also the RX routine as well. So glad I came here! Highly recommend!
Pleasant staff, but you need to PUSH to get things done. They did diagnosis her after a week of tests & MRI’s, but we are getting quicker results at Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas on Walnut Hill.
Scott the MRI technician was great with my nine year old daughter. He explained everything that was happening. Started an IV and made her feel at ease during the process. Great experience.
The worst experience. I would be better served if City Hospital closed their emergency room so paramedics wouldn’t drag me here because it’s the closest to my home.
I was in the out patient on 8/29. Everyone was professional and friendly. I was treated very well. Thankful for their kindness and efforts to put me at ease.
Called with a simple question regarding medical records was on hold for 30 minutes and no one came back on the line to see if I had been helped.
Im going to copy and paste the review I left on Yelp here: I had my baby boy here very recently and you really get the benefit of a small
Hospital staff Was very knowledgeable and Efficient, Took care of the needs that I presented to the ER
I am 63 years old, and this was the worst hospital stay I have ever had. That's all I'm saying.
