If it's possible for you, just avoid this disaster of Post Office... Last time I went was a month ago, on a rainy day. There was one lady doing her best and who I thought was the Manager, helping a bit only, when the queue was already reaching outside (people was under the rain already). Instead of asking everyone about their needs and pre-organise or help with everything, the Manager was making the poor lady take care of two people at the same time and us, as customers, didn't have even one minute to fill up the information or ask about something as simple as an envelope... After a long wait I refused to be moved to a side for one single minute of writing an address on the envelope (which I didn't get before due to the disaster this Post Office is) and this person insisted, raising the voice. I told him that it was better if he would just shut up and do his job, so he started to threat me about my parcel not being delivered due to my behaviour... After all that queue and being treated like a criminal I wouldn't even know if my parcel was going to be delivered or not. Completely against Customer Service. I had to go to Bethnal Green, where everything was dealt with amazingly, besides the size of that Post Office is probably 30% of this one. Once I asked this man about his name and position he refused at the beginning to give me those details. After insisting he told me he is the owner and that his name is Abdul Ullah. I will never know if this is correct or not, but I couldn't let this go, as we should know which kind of service this people provide. I'm sorry for the lady working in there, but this Post Office is a total failure. Shame on you, thieves.
I'm only giving this 1 star so I can leave this review - if I could I would give it 0 stars. This is literally the worst post office I've ever been to in my life, for many reasons. 1. The queue was out of the door, and despite having 4 people working, only 2 were actually tending to the customers, the others were just watching the queue. 2. On top of that, as I got towards the front of the queue, I noticed the people working allowed others coming into the post office to push in and served them first, despite the fact that there was a queue of people waiting 3. The man who served me told me to go to collect plus, and said he can't take my parcel - even though the label on the parcel was a FREE returns label for the post office from very.co.uk 4. After explaining that I could drop off my parcel at the post office, he scanned the barcode on my FREE returns label and said it's not free and demanded that I pay 5. I explained that parcels under 10kg are covered by the FREE returns policy for Royal Mail, to which he rudely told me to 'just go to Royal Mail then' - the Royal Mail office down the road has a sign on the door saying collections only and to come to this post office 6. In the end, I was forced to PAY £3 to send a parcel that had a FREE returns label on it, as I had already wasted 40 minutes from first joining the queue to sending the parcel In conclusion, go to another branch if you can, because this one has rude, scamming workers.
I went to this branch today, I had never had such poor customer service. I was serviced by this cashier named KUMARIN. This guy had no idea how to treat a paying customer. I had only gone in to send post for some document and other travel related few item. The guy asked "what is in it" rudely. I had explained and than advised him to open and see what was inside. He than looked and started to challenge me as to what I had said and what was in it. I than explained that "you had a look regardless please now send it" He than refused to serve me and advised me to go to another branch. I am still confused as to how he can refuse service. I will not be going into that branch again. I did manage to pop into another branch and was able to complete my postage with any issues or even a question asked. Very poor!!!!!
Poor customer service. Rude. I have visited there to drop a small letter (paid it by online). She insisted that my letter is too thick and I need make a new payment for a larger sized letter. Then I asked her for a refund for the smaller one. She said.. you did it online..so you sort it out. I have no idea (I was thinking...'really? is it your attitude? what is the reason you are working here ?') she said that she is not working for royal mail. She is working for post office. Then I asked what post office working for? she said.. it is working for royal mail. ??? I am claiming a refund. It is only 67P. Now this is not about the money anymore! I will use online and other good parcel service (DPD is good) as much as I can. Royal mail shouldn't treat their customers like this.
Wow, the guy behind the counter was RUDE, talking to himself and laughing with his coworker. They charge 60£++ for international parcels(!!!) while the competition charger less than 20 for exactly same thing. Not to mention that horrible cheeky grin on his trollface once he realised that me and my bf were running late to work and that we were going to pay his ludicrous rates. We were prepared to pay a bit more but they actually charged us 4 times (!!!)more than the competition. Avoid like plague. I’ll never come back to this place and would not recommend. Wish I could ratethem at 0, they dont deserve 1.
They never rang the doorbell but just left a red card for me to go an collect. When I made my way to collect, my experience got so much worse. A world would be a better place without such rude and ignorant people. The old woman that works there, talks with such a condescending tone, shut the glass on my hands while my stuff was still with her. People like her should not be working at a customer facing role. The most miserable, rude and ignorant person I ever met. I will never be coming there again. I will be writing a complaint, to make sure that people like her don't work there.
Having queued for almost 45 minutes the counter assistant Abdul refused to accept my pre-stamped parcels. I contacted RM, to be told that this is not allowed and that my parcels should be accepted without issue. Abdul and the management still refused, making an absolute issue out of a simple parcel drop off. Appaling service, always crowded with little to no air conditioning. Take a picnic and be prepared to battle with staff just to have your parcel posted.
All staffs of the post office I have seen are very bad-mannered. I use regularly this post office now a days as this is the nearest postoffice for Royal mail drop point. I would not use the service of this post office if i have another drop point. I would kindly request to the authority of the post office please train your staffs of the whitechapel branch how to behave with the customers. They are for the customers. Customer are not for them. Thank you
Normally I have no issues with this branch however today I was served by the rudest, unprofessional and who did not know the standard products of the Post Office. Someone needs basic customer service training fortunately there are a few other branches in walking distance so I will just go elsewhere where I will not be shouted at or be ripped off , fortunately I questioned why they were attempting to sell me a product I didn't ask for
AVOID. This is one of the worst post offices, poorly managed. They constantly waste your time. They reduced the number of counters, never enough staff and always have queues stretching out of the building. They allow people to queue jump (business banking!!) and are rude to customers. I have seen them ramming peoples parcels into full sacks and breaking items. I have to give one star as they don't allow no stars or minus to review.
The office was very messy and gloomy, just like their staff. It's was empty when we got there but it was on eid day so hardly surprising. We were service promptly but would hardly call it "service with a smile" and could tell why they get all the negative reviews, I mean if you don't like working there then find another job but then again with those moody faces I doubt they'll get a job elsewhere
The owner of this Post Office with severe strabismus just started shouting at me when he gave me the wrong postage label for my parcel. I politely asked him to stop shouting, I have a heart condition. He became more aggressive. My blood pressure is now dangerously high from the event and I’m recovering from a stroke. His aggression could have ended my life. To top it off he over charged me.
As someone else mentioned, this is the worst post office in London. Please save yourself time and energy and go to the Globe Road office which is 100 times better. Honestly, I will never go to this post office again due to the poor and slow service. The staff in here are a joke and you are always stuck in a line for ages. You save more time going to Globe road for any type of service.
Very unpleasant experience. Demanding printed copies of documents where it was not required on the ID check website. Upon telling them that, said "no, we don't do soft copies here". At the other post office, they accept those, but here it's somewhat different? Otherwise, as others also said, people there seem clearly unhappy to be there, always a huge queue and messy.
Some of the other reviews don’t do it justice for just how bad this place is - easily the worst post office I’ve been to in the UK. Globe Road by Stepney Green is like thee absolute opposite to here, extremely friendly staff, know how to deal with queues, I walk double the distance now to go to Globe Road rather then this one as my local due to how bad it is!
The worst service ever. Google says they're open till 5.30pm when i went there at 12:40pm they were half closed, shutters pulled half way. I want this post office closed, out of service, out of business. Their service is always like this, very poor. I then had walk 2km to Aldgate post office who are more reliable, all i had to do was simply collect a form.
I hate going to this Post Office. The staff members are so slow there. There is one Asian fella and an Asian girl with a head scarf who are always flirting with each other rather than working!! Also, it seems like there are 4 people at the counter but only one of them is working and the other 3 just stand behind and around that one person!
This Post Office was extremely busy however the staff were extremely efficient and apologetic about the que. The staff were very helpful and provided alot information about the extra products which really has helped me as I was struggling to find out info abt a current account! Overall experience was pleasant. Great staff!
It was probably the longest time i had to wait to just drop something off. The staff are not polite when talking to the customers. Some staff will just in their sit and not call any customers who are waiting in line. Some stuff do shout at customers front of other customers who are waiting in line for over 30minutes.
Went to collect my BRP. Waited in the line for 4-5 mins. Then asked for my BRP. They gave it to me and I left. Since there are only negative comments I expected a disaster. However all was ok, I was not treated rudely. Also people working there were quicker than I expected. So no reason for not giving 5 starts.
The guy behind the counter just threw my ID card over the glass and made it fly past me and down on thet floor. Whilst I was picking it up, he tried to squeeze my package through his glass window even if it was too big for it and pressed it so hard to make it crack coz of the pressure. Unbelievable
This is probably one of the most consistent post office being the rudest in the UK. Why is it so difficult for them to not throw my IDs and credit card back to me. And I found it quite out of touch when a post office right next to a major tube line still close for lunch break (hire more staff!!)
This is a good post office. They get busy and there are often queues, but the queues move quickly and the staff are both friendly and knowledgable. I generally use to drop off parcels having prepaid and printed the postage at home, so it usually only takes a minute at the counter to drop off.
The service was terrible. I was treated unfairly: I forgot my ID at home, but I had my student ID on me, as well as my passport picture. None of these were accepted while sometimes the worker at the counter doesn’t even check the document. You should review the policy terms with your staff.
The most rudest and slowest post office, closed 15 minutes before closing time, the guy ignored me and walked away because he wanted to go home early. Very bad customer service, some people have work till 7pm! I left work early to get my parcel and didnt receive it not happy at all
Fine service, always receive my parcel at the post office in case I miss home delivery. Customer service is solid, you go there you provide your id, staff of post office takes parcel to you, haven't received any unplessant service in my entire 8 years of visiting this post office.
The guy on the far right a young guy is just extremely rude and arrogant. He’s forgetting he’s just a worker he doesn’t own it. The worst customer service ever. Don’t bother going to this just walk a bit and go to the one in Bethnal Green. Much more friendlier staff.
Terrible post office who always push you towards the more expensive options and get argumentative when you point out that there's cheaper options. Usually a slow queue and I've saw the staff having shouting matches with customers. Avoid this post office at all costs
Not been able to send a parcel for three weeks now because I work Monday to Friday and they are closed the full weekend. Ridiculous - but that's what happens when you privatise: the profit motive takes over and service is secondary. Capitalism poisons everything.
I really desperately needed to take photos for aunt for the passport. Phone booth is not working.....and staff haven't said sorry. They were even laughing at me. It is not funny whatsoever!!!! Post office has no proper phone booth! 21st century!!!! Disgusting!!!
I had a really good experience here, the service I got from the workers was fast and they were polite whilst serving me. It was rather busy but it seemed they were managing the queue well. I come here often and they are always warm and welcoming.
Super rude staff. Today I tried to get in with my folding bike and they started screaming literally I had to leave it on the street. FOLDING BIKES ARE ALLOWED inside. I went to Wapping branch instead. Go to Wapping, very nice civilised people.
Very bad service from staff, instead of helping they are rude and the level of service is appalling.Definitely needs better management structure or different staff to run, I don’t recommend the use of this service and avoid and go elsewhere!
Awful place. Long lines, expensive service. They made me bubble wrap my package and I had to pay 7£ for a cardboard box and bubble wrap. Not to mention 17£ for sending a package inside London with no way to have it delivered in the weekend.
My experience has been awful with this place. The staff just could not care any less. Someone pushed in front of the que, a very long que. Rather than ask the man to join the back of the que, they simply served him. I found that outrageous.
I walked 40 minutes to get there and I made sure I got there early (around 12:30 pm) It turns out they are closed! They need to update their hours on Google and their website because both still say they are open. This is unbelievable.
Poor quality staff and customers. Staff are very curt and brusque, queues are terribly long and an elderly customer spat on the floor with no repercussions. The place is filthy. They seem particularly impolite if you are not Islamic.
Staff were so slow; chatting to each other and clearly not in a rush despite the large line of people waiting. It wasn't actually busy, just that the service was so slow . They laughed to each other the whole time they were serving
Employees were passive aggressive coming off as rude, came to pick up a parcel and by checking 3-4 parcels from the mountain of boxes and told me they didn't have it, had to come back the next day for someone else to locate it.
The rudest post office worker i have ever encountered. He should not be allowed anywhere near the public. Outrightly rude, disrespectful. If any of my staff talked to a customer like that they would be sacked on the spot!
On google it says that post office closes at 6pm. I came 5:30 and the door was locked. The guy unlocked the door for a leaving customer and said they close 5:30. Guys, sort out your opening hours,it will help people out.
The almost constant long queues shows how mismanaged it is, they are very inefficient and clearly understaffed. They also lie because they don’t provide a few services they claim on their website
Very rude and unhelpful staff. They denied stuff that was clearly stated on the royal mail website to be allowed, even when showing the website they kept denying and said they couldn't read it
Perfectly functional, well situated and convenient post office. Brilliant selection of envelopes, boxes and postage tubes. Three positions open so service was fast and friendly at lunchtime!
Zero rating! Poor customer service. All staff members chatting and giggling away while a long que of customers watch and wait. Royal mail more like SnailMail. Avoid going at all cost.
Some one needs to fire the old lady with short brown hair because she is the rudest person ever. If you hate working in customer service please do other people a favour and quit!!!
Very bad staff slow and rude, also not trained properly whenever asked for proof of postage always argue for not stamping the paper work. The post man in the area serving is dodgy
Absolute joke. Nowadays companies take away their landlines and replace with a humanless number to be put on hold as we don’t like “inconvenience”. Still on hold 50 Mins later....
Iv used this post office probably 10times in 2/3months. Yes it can get busy, but the staff are very helpful and kind and iv never seen less than 3 desks open. Using again today
I don’t know how this post office is even allowed to exist. Terrible customer service and very poorly managed hence the excessive queues. This place needs to be closed down!
Why was i given the option to get my post redelivered to be collected today when the post office is not open? i cant pick my post up on another day, what am i meant to do?
Guy sitting on the left at the entrance told me “outside”when I entered pushing a bicycle, granted I was pushing my luck as well as the bike but a simple please would help
If I could give zero stars I would! Awful service and absolutely no customer service. The guy who is slightly older and has a belly is extremely rude and has no respect.
Queue of 100 people actually goes out the door and down the street. But only four of the eight cashiers open despite the fact it's predictably busy like this every day?
Horrendous customer service, very rude!!! My form was not fully completed and the guy shouted at me: you're making waste my time!!!! I've never been told such a thing.
If no one will even look at you or say hello, they might as well be replaced by machines as in some other post offices. They may be faster, nicer and more efficient.
Bad customer service. They really seem to be not trainned for a customer service at all. I think it would be more pleasant to greet by a robot than their stuff.
Very bad service and rude employees. I know for a fact that they have rules-policies that they apply inconsistently, effectively resulting in discrimination.
Busy place, you need stand in a que to submit any documents or parcels, money transfer service available here, also you can buy gift cards & envelope here
Lots of bad reviews but I found them similar to most post offices. Just went to pick up my brp and they were efficient and friendly.
Massive queue, not enough staff, rude staff...First and last time in live visiting this post office brunch its absolutely ridiculous.
despite all these negative comment, I always had decent experience, obviously the cue is a common factor in every post office.
horrible staff who`d rather send you to another office then help you out ,the guy told me they don`t work with royal mail
People behind the glass are very unprofessional and if you ask a question they don’t know. Found them rude and stupid
Update the opening times for collection please. Wasted an hour to find its only been half days for the past 2 months.
The staff in this branch of the post office need to be trained better, customer service skills & knowledge are 0..
No problems. No need to pay attention to the negative reviews if you're just after standard post office services
Inexperienced staff. Told me my post wasn't there and sent me back home even though it had reached 10 days ago
Won’t exchange paper for polymer currency despite the internet saying to visit a post office for this service.
excellent customer service by the worker who served me, she was friendly and really helpful with my queries.
Incredibly unhelpful and very rude. The young lady needs some customer service training. Very disrespectful
Disgusting attitude by the guy behind the counter. Never ever come across someone as rude and ill mannered.
Awful, will never go there again. Sent my expensive parcel to the wrong address. Ridiculously incompetent.
Went there to collect my BRP. It took me 3 minutes to get it, everything went smoothly with no problem.
2 people in the whole place serving during lunch hour queues out the door, with people cutting in line!
Staff are not nice at all, plus I can say unprofessional. But one good thing, I didnt wait for long.
Why say you're open till 5.30pm on Saturday yet actually close at 2.00pm? Door was locked at 1.58pm
The staff are unprofessional. I have had problems with delivery and staff confusions many times.
The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, professional and worked very quickly. Excellent service!
Spent my lunch break standing in a queue that took forever. Not open outside office hours....
busy at times but found staff very professional and try their best to deal with long queues
The two Asian ladies there are terrible. Insisting I can only use cash to pay for road tax.
queues can get very long but staff are great! Really friendly and approachable people :)
need more staff/ a better system as the queues are horrendous, literally unusable
Been there twice. Different person at the counter each time, but both very rude.
The staff are very friendly & polite. Very happy to assist with all the demands.
Notoriously slow, 1 person at the counter and 7 ppl in the queue = 30 min wait.
Service is alright, lack of covid social distancing is a huge problem though.
I work 9-5 how tf am I meant to use this place. Its closed on weekends too??
Really great customer service. Fast effecient and speedy with all enquires.
Collected my parcel here a couple times, very busy but staff are helpful
Unhelpful and rude. If you can coming to this post office you better do.
Not big enough to serve the demand here. Always a queue out the door.
On the Royal Mail website it says it is open on weekends but it’s not
Very poor and tricky service. The staff is rude and unhelpful.
If you don't want to be upset just avoid this post office.
Excellent Customer Service. Very experience staff's.
Excessive queues and mind numbingly slow
Said open on bank holiday, but wasn't.
Rudest delivery service ever
