Pros: Visually appealing interior and comfortable lounges. Powerpoints with usb outlets were plentiful. After-hours option for patrons over 18 and membership is open for people who reside outside the Fairfield area is an added bonus, though the process of lining up to key in your code cuts into the additional time. Relatively helpful staff and Security were friendly. There's a small café but I did not try any food or drink to comment. Cons: Despite the newly refurbished areas, the female toilets were in a state and had such a strong stench the minute you opened the door. Toilet paper was strewn on the wet floor and muddy streaks all over the tiles. One of those places you 'hover' over and touch everything with paper towel as you leave. I was seated on the lounge next to a high school student who was clearly using the facilities to charge her phone. She was on loudspeaker and playing a game remotely with her friends. She was audible over my headphones and easily the loudest person in the room over the groups of HSC students. Staff walked over, I made eye contact every time and they just ignored it. Other patrons were visibly miffed. I would normally have said something, but this was my first visit to that library in years and I took my cues from the staff as noise is obviously allowed or tolerated. There didn't seem to be any designated quiet area. I didn't try the wifi to comment on speed/connection and did not see the book collection. Might return for the after-hours as most of the school children (and volume) will have gone, though it can get crowded during HSC time. Street parking clears up from 5pm onwards.

This library staff is incredibly rude, my kids was playing at the children play area it’s so normal when the kids running around, throwing toys & i don’t know what my kids do with the chess in the chest area, 1 asian girl came in for cleaning & she said something to my kids like this is not how you playing chess these chess are expensive & asked where is your parents.! After she came to me & said is that your kids, i said yes then she said you should keep your eyes on your kids. omg they think my kids will broke the chess the way my kids played, she think the chess can broke so easily. Why would she even controlled how the kids played? Let the kids play their own way, i don’t think anything's wrong how my kids played, she make a big problem out of small things.! People in there looking at her too, don’t she feel embarrassed to said this to the kids.! She should be fire & hire someone much better than her..

The librarian was extremely rude it was specifically one Librarian. The rest are always very down to earth and kind. I believe her ethnicity was Indian she wasn’t considerate and the second I did something which I didn’t know was wrong she straight away was judgemental and extremely condescending. I hope she gets fired. I have never met such a rude human being. She started screaming in my face and telling me I was wrong and didn’t let me talk. She didn’t tell me why what I was doing was wrong or help me with my problem she instantly started shouting right in my face. If she doesn’t get fired then I can’t help but believe that Whitlam library condones rude, judgemental, hot headed and disrespectful behaviour.

Whitlam Library has improved compared to the past 10 years. I was quite impressed with the new computer areas. And thank god, the toilet’s light no longer blue! However, in comparison to other libraries I’ve been to, Whitlam library’s progress remains slow. The appearance is almost the same. The staff are okay. I find visitors interesting: oldies with loudspeakers on the phone, teenage boy doing their jobs interview casually while other reading, while teenage girls giggling over popular Korean drama, and kids playing next door. For a moment I thought I was at a park.

Terrible. Cabramatta library used to a good location for adults and children to use the services of the library. Now the downstairs area is more like a LAN party for children playing minecraft with music being played off the speaker on full volume. The upstairs 'quiet area' is full of teenagers playing music from their phones, while staff are not to been seen. What happened to they days where librarys were a quiet area for people to study, read books and get children into reading both fiction and non-fiction? 10/10 would no recommend this library

As a mature aged student / full time worker it is amazing to have the new upstairs Workary area. It excludes all the often noisy high school students and is a peaceful place to do your office laptop work amongst peers. Powerpoints along the walls (but not amongst the seats in the middle) with coffee and tea provided inside, though I prefer the barista downstairs. It's also more comfortable than sitting in a cafe. There is plenty of seating as well. I would guess 80 seats ? Check it out

The staff at this library are amazing and really eager to help in any way possible. I want to give a shout out to Bich who was so helpful in organising a room for me to hire. She helped me find out what paperwork I had to do and what I had to fill out. Without her I would be clueless. Please give Bich a raise! Top notch assistance from this library and the staff! They hire the most kind and helpful people. Looking forward to the next time I talk to the staff.

Great library. Grab a electronic thingy mi bobby, take a seat on a sofa and read until your eyeballs and brain are covered in the equivalent of sweat. You have access to a brain gym. Enjoy it as it is free... People should be coming in droves, yet not many desire to open their minds to the history of the world. Ignorance is bliss. None the less, I wish I could give 4 1/2 as nothing is perfect, perfection requires nothing more. So lets give it 4 stars.

The new renovations are incomplete with the bottom level missing a sound system and strobe lights to cater for the noisy and inconsiderate crowd. The librarians really need to enforce the etiquette of quietness here, otherwise one has to ask: with automation of borrowing and returning books, storage shelves that can be packed by anyone, and security guards who could possibly do a better job in maintaining order, do we really need that many librarians?

Worst experience ever, usually im welcomed with good welcomings and i study well but now im never entering here again, accusing me and my friends of smoking weed in the bathroom? what a joke we just got there check the cameras and not only that the white staff member sees my black african friend go outside the bathroom and accused him of smoking weed, honestly a joke. He needs to get fired this racist as person get a life and grow up

Came in to use the computer. Pleasantly surprised you can use it for 2 hours! Very disappointed that for a library, it is not quiet. People speaking on the phone like they are at home. Rude. No one wants to hear your conversations. People have forgotten how to be socially aware of their surroundings but then again, some people simply have no filters and/or don't care. Disappointed that staff did not say or do anything.

Worst library staffing ever, we just got there for literally a few minutes and we got accused of smoking in the bathroom? Loving, kind and helpful librarians with state of the art facilities and fast wifi. Would be greater if you can raise the floor and connect all the tables with power plugs. Would definitely work from the library again when I have a chance. Update 7/2/2023: I have given some feedback on their wireless connection setup and to my surprise, they really did fix it when I went there again. Amazing services.

The range and depth of digital resources are outstanding and are especially appreciated during lockdowns when we don't have access to physical resources and facilities. Fairfield City Library has one of the best public library digital collections that I've come across. The library's website is easy to navigate and access to the digital resources is user friendly.

As a Cabramatta High School student, I am very very DISAPPOINTED to see how there has been SO MUCH students from Canley Vale/other high schools coming over and occupying all the seats upstairs. Therefore, all they are doing is talk talk and talk. Like literally no seats for us that are needed for ACTUAL STUDYING.

Came here to get some trip planning done, accidentally had a the best day out when we discovered a free VR gaming room, a music studio with a green screen, free super smash bros, a giant rubix cube, free tea, coffee and biscuits. It's a wonderful playground for adults.

Cabra library has become a zoo. Upstairs and downstairs is overrun by screaming monkeys. please control the loud students so that people can study. Also the business room is one of the most terrible ideas that have been implemented.

I went for Business Advice the lady who supposed to help me she is only there to get benefit of the government payments, you get 4 session for free I only saw her once! please NSW government make sure you paying the right person.

the powerpoints are placed in a such an inconvenient place. they are sat next to the couches only which is annoying because i am charging to learn, not sit on a couch and relax. i had to waste 10min looking for powerpoints.

As i was studying in the library a librarian with a lost child tries to find the parents and was completely rude to the rather whose son was crying his eyes out telling him rudely to take better care of his child.

Good library with many multicultural services. The library staff are extremely friendly, and the renovations are great. Inter library loans are free of charge unlike other libraries.

The staffs are very friendly and helpful. I like to visit the facility to print stuffs. However, the time on google which is 9:30-8:00 pm is wrong. The correct time is 8:00-5:00 pm.

A one stop shop for sewing, learning art and craft, English, digital books as well as so many awesome apps for children. Overall a wonderful experience with warm staff.

Please update the opening hours on the Google maps listing as it states “till 10PM” for certain nights but isn’t the case for those who arrive to the library after 8PM
