In a way I've been impressed with this new Bahnhof :) What unfortunately is really disappointing and concerned me is that the luggage storage area has a considerable number of shortcomings. First, it is a bit way-out from the rest. But let it be. Moreover, it seems to be very popular, seen the limited amount of free lockers. But the main point is, one needs CASH money ... In so many international places all over Europe, it already is "card only". But still, cash has its place. But, how to exchange from a slightly bigger banknote to coins? How to pay by international paycard? Not at all at Wien Hauptbahnhof :( :( :( Checking at nearby shops to help in exchange, reveals that those shops are not able anymore. Euro 400 a day only on exchange of coins without any sales cannot be :( So, OEBB, how about a more proper international service with installing exchange machines, like some where else in the building I found at the toilets. Big business, though ;) In short, reason for relevant improvement, don't you think so? Keep up the good spirit and international standards, please.

I was extremely surprised by the cynicism of the Tickets Office staff of the Wien Hbf station, namely window number 13, in which a woman worked from 1.00 p.m. up to 1.15 p.m. November 13, 2022. I got a coupon at the Tickets Office in order to print tickets (I accidentally found out at the last moment, because I bought tickets online, and usually you don’t need to print them), and because I was afraid to be late, I asked the man who came up to window 13 to exchange coupons, explaining the whole situation. The man didn't mind at all, but the woman from window number 13 started yelling at me and forbade me to exchange coupons, telling me to go in line. As a result, I was morally humiliated and depressed by such an attitude of the staff of this institution. I think that such employees have no place in this company, people should be humane and help each other. I have very bad experience with this organization.

Just don't go there In fact, one of the most disgusting places in the world is Vienna Central Station. There is no currency exchange in the station, there are very few seats in the station and most of them are occupied by homeless people, the station is not open 24 hours on Saturdays and Sundays, so you have to rent a hotel even if you have 2-3 hours left for your train. Near the station at night there are many drunk and inadequate people and there is no police. There is a McDonald's and a cafe near the station, but they are also closed like the station, so be prepared to wait on your feet until the station opens in the morning. If you can stand the smell, you will be able to sit next to drunk people at the station. Good luck

This review is not so much for the train station as it is a warning to others so they don’t make the same mistake I did. WARNING: we arrived on the CAT train to Central Vienna at the Wein Mitte. When we booked a ride, the first place that came up was Vienna central train station. I thought this was where we had arrived. IT WAS NOT. After arriving at the train station, we realized we were not at the correct one and had to order another ride to take us to Wein Mitte. Obviously, those who are familiar with Vienna will think this was foolish, but as a tourist, it was a genuine mistake.

Wien also known as Vienna. This is the most important railway station of Vienna . It has plenty of eateries and restaurants. Few apparel shops also available in the underground. The train services are available in ample. It is very well connected with important cities such as Bratislava, Salzburg, Frankfurt, Munchen, Innsbruck, Zurich. The city's transportation system is one of the best in the world.

The train late for 4 hours, instead of 9:40pm it came at 01:48am, all shops are closed around 11pm, they turned off the heater around 11pm, then the power in the outlet was turned off, the station closed at 01:30am and the security sent us to the platform….. in winter (-6C). And homeless people everywhere….

Our train was 3 hours late and we had to wait outside the station all night long, because they decided to lock the doors. The police was sooo, but I mean sooo rude and pathetic. What a shame for a middle-est European country.

It’s a good and a modern train station there’s a lot of various shops and the train arrived on time both the time we were here there are a lot of options food wise. The station was well maintained and really clean

Sauberer Bahnhof mit guten Geschäften zum Einkaufen oder für einen Imbiss. Es ist allerdings für Fremde unübersichtlich gestaltet und es gibt keinen Postkasten oder gar Postmarken zu kaufen.

Good train station comparable to any developed country's central station. Plenty of cheap fast foods and convenience stores to get your Viennese curiosity fixed, or a coffee or drink.

  • Vedad Kulenovic

Das Ambiente ist geprägt von Reisenden. Es gibt kaum Drogen und so gut wie keinen beißenden Pissgeruch. Hat sich den Status eines Hauptbahnhofs also definitiv nicht verdient.

An internacional train station like this, where people from different parts of the world arrive should have a change currency Office. The conditioned air is not good … Mehr

Unsafe, like many terminals. Shame for Vienna to let gropers and robbers around, of course police offices right across the street but what can you expect from accomplices.

  • Melis Selin Kocyigit

It works. That said it feels unsafe. A random woman spat on me, and I saw another woman pooping. The station is fine. The people are scary.

  • Artur Hutsalyuk

Nice station, there are good inexpensive places to eat, helpful staff, but not without its flaws. During my visit, the toilets were closed

  • Thomas Georg

Station is big but you find easy what you are looking for. Plenty of choices for something to eat and drink and also for shopping.

  • Noa Håkansson

Nice looking station, clean and easily accessible. One issue is however the complete lack of wind protection at the platforms.

  • Gabriel Dantas

Well maintained place. Toilets are paid only by cash, as the machines don’t accept card anymore.

  • Marin „SayanMk“ Kolev

A lot of signs and ticket machines, infotables and services. Quite a big train station.
