The story, often told as a sworn truth, goes that McKenzie was a keen gambler and left instructions that he should be entombed above ground within the pyramid, sitting upright at a card table and clutching a winning hand of cards . Some tellers go one step further asserting that MacKenzie ensured that his body was never committed to the earth as a means of cheating Satan out of claiming his immortal soul . It follows almost naturally that tales of MacKenzie’s ghost roaming the overgrown churchyard and surrounding area are told today by many local folklorists and tour guides alike

This beautiful cemetery is right in the middle of the famous Georgian Quarter and amongst many of the University's buildings and sites. Architecturally, this is a great area with lots of bars and restaurants too.
A really spectacular pyramid tomb in an old churchyard. The church itself has been converted into student flats so there is no access to get close to the pyramid itself, but it can be seen through the railings
Je n'ai pas compris l'intérêt du lieu. Ok la tombe est pyramidale... Pour moi, ce n'est pas un incontournable.

Very interesting. The gate is locked and there is zero upkeep. Would have really liked to actually go in and see it. Please mow the grass and clean up the trash.

The tomb was a sight but sadly it was closed off.

An interesting site hidden away among the side streets in Liverpool. A nice spot to stop by at and see when passing.
Worth checking out if your nearby but given the amount there is to see in Liverpool it's hardly a highlight
The tomb was never made to be opened. It must remain untouched.
It’s a tomb . It does everything it’s supposed too …
Unusual piece of history in liverpool city centre.
