"Pros: The entire building is one level, which is helpful for those with mobility concerns"
"Worst library in the city of Winnipeg CONS 1) full concrete structure = no cell signal 2) crappy winter hours 3) large play area for kids,(larger area than they have for study space) MAKES NO SENSE 4) they have about 6 tables in the whole building once they are taken there is no other space"
"Beautiful building and convenient location, however, one of the staff members (a male) was super rude to us once"
"It is HOT"
All library's in winnipeg have not been created correctly no walls separating kids from other have been put in place I've been the Library's from polo park to the east side of winnipeg same mistake in all of them. the other mistake made is that no sun blocking shades have been put in place for people with computers the engineer and the architect do not care people being able to read what in on their pc screen in the library. all the new library's basically are pig barn's but with vary large glass walls. Architecture is suppose to be about form and function and the people who the space was built for. not about some one who has not understood the basic's of what people need and want to use . it's good thing that a Library built for people to use well try to use. the future is not here and will never be here as places are allowed to be created incorrectly.
Pros: The entire building is one level, which is helpful for those with mobility concerns. Spacious with lots of natural light. Self-checkout and drive-up book drop off slot available (they didn’t have these at the old location) Cons: Exceptionally terrible location. A library should be within a community, not alongside a busy thoroughfare. The old location was within walking distance of several schools, daycares, a community centre, and many residences. Currently, it is challenging to turn into the lot if you’re coming northbound on Archibald. There’s also not a lot of parking. Note: They have the exact same hours as the old library did.
Worst library in the city of Winnipeg CONS 1) full concrete structure = no cell signal 2) crappy winter hours 3) large play area for kids,(larger area than they have for study space) MAKES NO SENSE 4) they have about 6 tables in the whole building once they are taken there is no other space. 5)staff will not tell the kids that are screaming at the top of their lungs to be quite(useless staff) 6) generally terrible design with little to no parking for the entire building.
Beautiful building and convenient location, however, one of the staff members (a male) was super rude to us once. We went to drop a book off and I was concerned that the book drop may be closed (because of covid, I figured they'd want to sanitize each book, guess not) so we went inside and he yelled at us!
It is HOT. and the books along the front facing wall are all faded out. It has sun exposure all day which is lovely but the lettering on the books has almost disappeared along that wall. And it is unbearably hot in the library
I recommend coming here on a day where it is not sunny because it tends to get very hot. But other than that I love coming here to do schoolwork because it is a very calming and peaceful environment.
Small library but what a beautiful small library. One wall id all window looking into the wooden area and leaves you feeling you are outside..but warmer. Clean and super friendly staff!
Awful hours- not even open until 1 and closed on Wednesdays.. Also there's only about 6 tables to study at while there's a huge play area for children (making it noisy)
I love the building. Super nice and sunny inside. However, the hours that it is open are horrible! It is almost always closed when I want to go study!
Why move farther away from all the schools, off the major bus routes and have less parking? Horrible planning from the city.
Nice new building with lots of light. Usually not to busy and the staff are nice. Parking and location are so so.
Staff is beyond helpful. They make this the best library in the city, even if it is one of the smallest.
It will be nice to have this library open for longer hours, and on wednesdays as well.
Most of the time closed, u have to match timings with this library
Really cool building but getting in there and parking is annoying
Parking is awesome and the building looks great from the outside
Conveniently located, accessible. A cozy well lit environment.
Location of the former building was much more accessible.
Not open on Wednesday yet on here it says they are......
