After my car was acting up, I brought it here and they found the PO304 code for cylinder #4 having a failed coil pack and recommended I replace all 6 for ~$1,200 or replace just the cylinder #4 for about $400. After having a few conversations with mechanic friends as well as the dealer phone call (that they recommended I might add), I was advised to just replace the faulty coil as its an electrical component and it either works or doesn't (you don't replace all the faucets in your house when one stops working was my favorite line I received). Moving on, I go to the Lexus dealer. Their scan was a little disconcerting at first as it showed a faulty cylinder #6 coil. After a brief discussion with the mechanic, we decided to replace just #6 since their scan shows the current error as well as ALL previous and cleared errors (PO304 never showed up as occurring). Bottom line, Woodie's lived up to the shady-car-repair-place stereotype of up-selling me for unnecessary services. Their diagnosis was wrong (car's working just fine now)*. And their price was almost twice that of a competitor ($1,200 for unnecessary recommended repairs, $400 to replace just the one coil, and I paid $260 at the dealer which included snacks/drinks and a car wash and vacuum!). I find it pretty shameless that they can charge such high rates solely because of their convenience to uptown motorists. *To elaborate on the point of the mis-diagnosis if you're even still reading at this point... I see it as a lose-lose for the customer in this instance. Either I go with repairing cyclinder #4's coil, pay the $400, with the real problem (#6) still there, thus having to replace all 6 coils soon thereafter and paying the full price, and ultimately proving Woodie's "right." OR I replaced all 6 from the get go, thinking I solved the problem blissfully unaware that they duped me of essentially $800-$1,000. Pretty crappy business practices if you ask me. Lesson learned. Woodie's Uptown (and all other Woodie's) have lost one potential customer and gained at least one voice that will forever urge you the people to take your car repairs elsewhere.
Went to Woodies 11/11/2021 for a misfire/check engine light. $777.40 to replace Ignition coil and plugs. Went back to Woodies 1/26/2022 again for another check engine light. $2007.54 for another ignition coil, new timing kit and water pump. On 2/7/2022 car overheat warning came on and I had the car towed to Woodies. They provided a $3700 estimate to fix the blown head gasket due to coolant in the engine. I had car towed to Volvo of Charlotte for a second opinion. Volvo of Charlotte stated that the coolant had been put back in incorrectly. They were very surprised to see the water pump had been replaced as they never need replacing on these Volvos. During teardown to begin work they found the new timing belt was shredded and had in fact been installed incorrectly by Woodies. They provided a video and asked me to come down to take pictures. They had to replace the timing kit in addition to the blown head gasket. Car fixed by Volvo of Charlotte 2/23/2022 for a total of $3294.45 which was far less than $3700 Woodies quoted to fix just the head gasket. Around 2/12/2022 I spoke to the manager at Woodies and he said their regional manager said they were not responsible for the new issue even though it was only one week since they had had the car. I had driven less than 100 miles. Woodies did not taken any responsibility for the incorrect installation of the timing kit and the coolant in the engine and only refunded me $800. They state it was because of an existing issue and nothing they did. It's a shame that they wouldn't stand behind their work and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. Go to the dealer instead.
The only reason I'm giving them 2 stars as opposed to 1 star is convenience for getting smaller items done. I have a mechanic I've been going to for quite some time who I trust wholeheartedly. I realized I had an oil leak so I took it to Woodie's because they are right around the corner from me whereas my mechanic is 30 minutes away. I ask them to diagnose the oil leak and if it was cheap, I would've just had Woodie's done the repair. They come back to me saying that it's $950 worth of repairs. Surprised, I told Woodie's not to make the repairs and I took my car to my mechanic. My mechanic told me that it was robbery they even charged me a diagnostics fee because there was a solid chance they didn't even look at my car. My mechanic said they probably just quoted me typical causes of oil leak for my 2011 VW CC sport because the second you opened up the hood, any mechanic with minimal experience would've realized that what they quoted me was not the root of the problem. My mechanic says that if Woodie's fixed everything they had listed that it would not even have fixed my oil leak. In summation: Woodie's is your typical garage shop that preys upon unsuspecting people who don't know too much about cars. If you have something small like an oil change or inspection, go to them because they are convenient. Any sort of car repair, go literally anywhere else.
The name of "Woodie's" game is upselling. They will produce a report of lots of things that you might need to get done and prioritizes them from low to urgent, which seems like a decent customer service feature. However, if you are even thinking of getting your car inspected at this place, just don't. They will fail your car for a variety of reasons that are very subjective. For instance my wiper blades were cited as "urgent". It has been raining everyday for weeks and my wipers are fine... This was just false. Also "tire tread" was referenced as urgent. I asked what the standard for state inspection was and was told 2/32 is dangerous and should fail inspection. All of the report photos indicated that 5/32- 6/32 was what my tires were at. I'm well aware that I need to start shopping for new tires. No one on earth should buy their tires without shopping around first. I was there to get an inspection, not a new set of tires. They've rejected my car a couple of times for ridiculous things and they could very easily just pass the car. I'd be way more likely to get anything done on my car if it were with a trustworthy company. Not trying to knock the staff- the company's philosophy sucks and Woodie's automotive should be avoided at all locations.
I tried really hard to make them my “go to” service department buying extremely expensive Michelin tires for over $1000 going back for the first tire rotation and adding an oil change. Something I’ve done with my cars at 5000 miles forever and they just blew it. My Toyota dealer used to get me in and out in a couple hours for the same service. I had to leave the car there all day long. They called it 130 after I dropped it off at 9 o’clock and asked “where is the wrench for the tires their locked? I said I don’t know. I’ve never had that call before and the car is five years old, I tried to call them a couple times during the day and I couldn’t get through. I was on hold for six minutes and hung up. I finally got a call late around 4 pm so. I asked for them to send the shuttle. They said the shuttle was done for the day. The next day a part they removed to drain the oil fell off and was dragging on the bottom of my car. They caused it, no doubt, and they denied it when I asked them if that could be their fault So I’m going to get it fixed at a dealership not the place to go if you want to own up to a mistake and to do what’s right as a business
This is by far the WORST auto shop I have ever been to. My car broke down about 3 minutes down the road from this shop and I figured it would be easiest to take it to them. They told me they would take a look at it and see what was going on, I later got a call saying that the cost of repairs was going to be nearly $600. I decided to call some friends of mine who were mechanics explaining what they told me. My friends all agreed this price was a scam and they had to be lying about the repairs I needed. After hearing that from 4 people, I called the shop I normally go to explaining that I wouldn't have the money to have it towed to them. They told me they would tow it to them for free since I am a loyal customer and said they would look at it in the morning. When I called woodies back to say I was having it towed, they tried to charge me $55 for just looking at it and doing absolutely NOTHING to the car, which they hadn't informed me of this fee until after they had already checked it out. I didn't pay them a cent and no one else should either! I have never been so angry at a company before in my life, and I'm from NY!!
I was a long term customer. I take extremely good care of my trucks. I know every little scratch, dent etc. on my truck. I went in for routine oil change and transmission fluid change. When I went to pick up my truck, I noticed the drivers side door pull arm rest was completely pulled off. I immediately went back inside before driving off the lot and they accepted fault and said they would "make it right". Brought it back the next day (as instructed) to get fixed and they said they would only pay for installation (which is them again admitting fault since they will still pay for repairs) but I would have to pay for the part. This part cost $450. Long story short, I brought my truck in for a fluid change and they returned it with significant damage. They have lost a long term customer and I highly recommend NOT taking your car/truck to Woodie's in uptown if you want to keep your car/truck in good condition.
Absolutely genuine and HONEST service. I came to Woodie's for the first time after reading wonderful reviews online and I can tell you it is true. I went to the Jeep dealer for my jeep to have an oil change and was told I had a VERY VERY bad leak in my power steering rack and I could not get an alignment until that was taken care of, with a quote of $2,000. To me, it did not sound right as the car is only a few years old. So, I visited Woodie's for a second opinion and they checked it out for 3 hours and could not find a leak or anything that matched what the Jeep dealer said. Rodney and his team were humble, easy to talk to, and happy to help me with genuine honesty. They also did not charge me for the 3 hours of investigative service they did to try and find the leak, which was so thoughtful and generous. If you need to have your car serviced, visit them today. I am a forever customer!!!!!!! :)
I had my struts redone and new tires put on in Jan. 2020. Didn’t drive but 500 miles and took the car in in May 2020 for an oil change. Tech said I needed new back brakes and new rotors on the car. I elected not to change them, did not drive the car for the remainder of the year and had my Dad redo my breaks over Christmas. Not only were the back breaks relatively fine where I could have driven the entire year, the rotors did not need replacing. Additionally, my dad noticed my car leaking oil and was able to trace it to a loose oil pan plug. The plug was about to fall out. If I had driven my car this way, the oil would have leaked out and my engine would have blown a gasket, totaling my car. I would never take another car to Woodys. They tried to take advantage of me by selling me car work that wasn’t necessary and they almost cost me my vehicle. Find another place to have your car serviced.
Where do I start. I've been going to Woodies for years, back when Nolen and Patrick use to work at the uptown location. It's super convenient if you work uptown on the north side of town. I recently dropped my car off for an oil change and they recommended I get a tune-up...I agreed and let's just say the next day the check engine light came on. I had re-range my entire schedule to bring the car back for more repairs. Fast forward and the light came back on and they quoted me like $754 for more repairs. Long story short I took my car to the dealership and oddly they cost less than Woodies! My co-worker said Woodies tried to up charge her several hundreds of dollars as well. I'm not sure what kind of operation they have going on, but it's not the Woodies I've known and came to trust years ago. Shame on them for charging triple the cost for repairs. They give mechanics a bad name.
My wife calls me at 5:05pm yesterday to inform me that our car does not start. I leave work early as I'm uptown and walk over to where she parked on Tyron st. I noticed Woodie's auto and entered around 5:30pm but appears it's about the close and there is line of customers. Doesn't look like I would be in luck. So I get to my car and my suspicions were correct, it was the battery. As I'm also trying to move my home this weekend I don't have many good options which include towing and service possibly the worst weekend (we don't have a 2nd car either). About 5 minutes later, Rodner Sanders drives up with another employee, give me a quick charge and drive over to the service bay. I had a new battery within 10 minutes and really just saved an entire problem set. Thank you Team
Very rude personnel. I have been going there for several years to change my oil, I need to change my oil pretty often because I drive 500 miles every week, way more than their average customer. But today I was told that they don’t want my business anymore because all I do is to change oil. They want to push more expensive services, most of the time unnecessary. It is funny because in 2020 I took my car there when everybody was on lock down and they didn’t have almost any car to fix, their staff told me that was going to be hard to get business going with so little business, now that they have their parking lot full they don’t want my business anymore. Can’t trust on business like that. It is clear that they only want your money.
I’ve used them for upwards ten years. They have changed mgmt and employee and it’s resulted in poor diagnostics and work I told them something was amiss with my front right brakes. There was dust all over the rim. Other brakes were fine. They said nothing was wrong. I could feel the brakes didn’t work well. They told me I needed a tune up since it was 100000 miles. They ended up replacing two coils because they broke off during the install. I left there with a 1300 bill. A day later my engine light came on and my engine started sputtering badly. I took it to the woodies near my home. They said all the coil should have been changed and they found the caliper frozen on the brakes. I’m very disappointed in this location.
I brought my car to them last week because my car was running hot. They charged me $800 because they supposedly fixed the problem and did a diagnostic test... the next day it did the same exact thing. I called and ask why was it still running hot, I was then informed they didn’t drive it long enough basically to see if the problem was fixed like how could you not ?? Very suspicious to me !! I was gone take my car back but after reading these reviews and seeing that folks have the same exact problem with this shop I’m not... I work hard for my money and I’ll buy a new car before I let anybody play me again with these high prices and can’t even do their damn jobs to fix it. I was truly ripped off !!
Classic mechanic tricks with upsell. After I dropped off my car for a very simple service, they called me with 3-4 other things which seemed really minor but were highly exaggerated to get me to spend a lot more. I gave in on 2/3 of the "dangerous important" issues. I ended up paying more than double than what I expected when I dropped off the car. After doing more research, I realized the issues they convinced me to get serviced were very minor after doing my own research. Also, it seems like everyone who dropped off their car in the reviews, was offered a shuttle to wherever they needed, funny I wasn't offered a shuttle. Probably won't come back here again.
Dropped my car off with a check engine light. I provided them with the check engine code that I got and told them what it means (An issue with the the intake manifold). When I went to pick it up, they charged me $128 for a computer diagnostic that confirmed to them what I already know. They don’t look out for the customers, they only care about getting the most money out of you. They told me we can replace the whole intake manifold for $2K. I literally have seen so many people on Youtube repairing the issue so I know it’s doable without replacing. But they don’t care about what’s cost effective to you, they only care about their pockets.
I am new to the Charlotte area and I have had several bad experiences with Meineke since I have been here. I usually do all of the work myself on my vehicles and toys, but I currently have not had the time. I diagnosed that there was a bad VGR valve with the help of Meineke trying to screw me out of $600. I gave Woody's a call, and told them what needed to be replaced and I brought it by that night and it was done first thing in the morning. For 230$! The front desk worker could have been a little nicer, but they did what I needed to do so I applaud them and give Woody's 5 stars. Do not go to Meineke please...
My daughter's car broke down and I needed someone to tow and repair it. I am a truck driver, and I was somewhere in Florida. I spoke to Rodney who assisted me promptly and professionally. He called my daughter, arranged for the tow.( She even commented on how quickly they were able to retrieve her car). Rodney called me the next morning and went over what was wrong with the car and how long it would take to repair. He kept me updated and explained everything fully. The repair was done very quickly, and my daughter was very pleased!!!(Dad!! You picked an awesome place!!) I agree.
I am editing my original review and giving them 3 stars instead of 1 star. This place is good when it comes to skill. It's just they overcharge which is almost same as dealer. (iI) For Jeep Patriot, the recommended oil is synthetic blend but they used synthetic oil. It's just a basic thing that they should know (1 point down) (iiI) They changed the Cabin Air filter and they charged $75 ($21 - part and $50 labor). Just now I checked in internet on how to replace the Cabin Air-filter. It's just a 2 or 3 minutes job and they charged $50 labor for it ( 1 point down)
Really a mixed bag: Daniel and Josh were extremely friendly and knowledgeable. The repair got done and seems to have been done well. But it took 6 more days and $500 more than originally quoted. After the repair, there was a new ABS light on for a broken sensor that occurred during the repair. While they did originally try to make me pay for the part, they did come around to correcting their mistake for free. Ultimately, I think their shop is good for the simple stuff, but anything more complex just take it to the dealership, it’s about the same price anyways.
I called at 7:15am on a Friday and Randy who answered was very nice and helpful! I dropped my car off at 8 for an inspection and to my surprise they shuttled me down tryon to work! My driver was very polite and friendly and even offered to pick me up at the end of the work day. Randy gave me a call when my car was done and again at the end of the day to see if I needed a ride. These guys did great work, were very accommodating, price was reasonable and they were polite throughout the whole process. Will definetly be going back for future work when needed!
Went here for my coolant to get flushed and fixed! Paid a lot of money for my heat not to blow anymore! Went back to get it fixed again, would not give me a refund or any compensation after I missed 4 Real Estate appointments because my car couldn't defrost. After it was said fixed after the 2nd time, Im still having the same problems and issues. The General manager and manager Brian is very nonchalant, and rude and hasn't put in any effort to resolve my issues! I highly recommend that you go ANYWHERE but this place!
Really nice guys. I came in with what I thought was a coolant leak, turns out my car had blown a head gasket and needed to be scrapped. They easily could've racked up the charges before telling me that my car was beyond (reasonable) repair but as soon as they saw fluid in the engine they let me know I should start looking for a new car. They were understanding about the fact that I couldn't get the car gone within 24 hours, and offered to let me use their shuttle to get around uptown. Definitely will be coming back.
Twice recently I have taken my car to them. The first time they told me I needed a part replaced which, when it I took it to the dealership to verify, the dealership said does not exist on my model of car. I just took my car to them for an inspection and they quoted me over $1000 of repairs and failed the inspection. I again took it to the dealership, who passed it and told me the Woody's quote was nonsensical (which I interpret as fraudulent). I might trust them for an oil change, but never again for service.
These are the only people I trust with my car (2004 Honda Accord) and to keep it running at top shape. Randy and his team are top notch professionals. When I was having issues with my air conditioner over a period of a week, they kept trying different angles to figure out the issue and didn't stop until it was fixed. I have trusted them with my car since 2008, and it's likely the reason its still going at 240K miles. The team at Woodie's Uptown is honest, professional and treat my car as it is their own.
Woodie's did something I have never experienced before - they suggested while they could do a repair on my BMW that was causing the check engine light to fire, in good faith they felt it was better supported and in my best interest to have BMW do it, as it was very a specific and unusual fix and better suited for the dealer. The transparency and honesty was not just refreshing, but in my experience unheard of. The credibility it generated means long-term loyalty to them for me.
I’m starting to believe Woodies may have issues with a particular ethic group, they allowed me to leave their property on a flat tire with no assistance and a buddy of mine said they had him wait an hour for a safety inspection. I admit, great mechanics, but not geared towards a certain ethnic group. Even after reading others reviews, I also saw one of the same ethnic group individual had an issue with Woodies.. I could be wrong but I’m going to call it the way I see it…
Had a great experience at Woodie’s in Uptown to get my car inspected. Found out I had to get my tires replaced to pass inspection and all of this took place in a 2 day span and was completed properly and efficiently. Daniel was the one working with me for everything and he was super great and communicative about my car. No hidden fees, didn’t try to scam me into things my car didn’t need, and car was left in great condition. Would definitely recommend Woodie’s!
So I went To them because my check engine light was on they where supposed to replace the things that turned made my check engine light come on. Long story short they didn’t then they charged so much money and didn’t do what I asked and When I went bk to ask what they did they told me oh my fault I must have miss understood. How can some miss understand about ur vehicle when I was very clear. I would never bring another anything to these people .
I was given a quote on the phone for two new Michelin tires. I brought my vehicle and got them installed. When I picked my vehicle up the price was more than price given over the phone. The service person who quoted me wasn’t there. I questioned it but the guy checking me out said the price on the bill was what it is! The difference was enough that I’m posting about it. I was disappointed with the service staff’s indifference to my pricing issue.
Can’t say enough about the team @ Woody’s! I recently had an incident where I ran over a cinder block and asked Woody’s to take a look @ my car. I called first thing in the morning & they were able to squeeze me in that day. I not only had my car back by the time I left work that day but they also were super honest with me about damage/lack there of. Didn’t charge me a crazy amount and super friendly! Will absolutely use them again.
Do no go here. I told them the exact problem, part, and the government bulliton where to support my thinking. Thought I was wrong so went with what they said. I still have the same issue I went there with except I spent 750 dollar on unnecessary issues. EDIT: took my car to parks Chevrolet they put in the part that I brought here and the rear clunking/popping sound is gone. Do not use woodies.
These people are professional con artists'. Took my truck in because of a over heating issue. Paid for a diagnostic test and they told me it only needed a thermostat change. Picked the car back up and it started smoking again right after I left the shop. Then they told me it was a head gasket issue. Took it to a different mechanic and they said the head gasket was fine. DONT GO TO THESE CROOKS
I went to Woody's today I pulled into the service department I asked the guy if he can help me put water in my car because my Tahoe put the antifreeze but right when you get ready to put the the owner with I said the guy could not put antifreeze in so I asked him if he could take my job and put some water in it because my vehicle and me as a black woman and him as a he wouldn't he
They know I am a nurse and work night shift and live in Columbia, SC and worked me in quickly so I wouldn't be driving back home so late in the day. They are always professional and explain what needs to be done; even prioritizing what is the most important thing to be done if there are multiple items to be fixed. I have been using them for my car repairs for just over a year now.
Very difficult to get your car in and charges extremely high even higher than dealerships for simple maintenance services. They mailed me an oil change voucher, but did not take it off the charges. To replace a light bulb, they wanted to charge $175 labor only where at the dealership it’s $20, it takes 10 mins to replace it– the place is ridiculous, done.
I did not like the service from Woody's on Lawyers Road when I got my car back there were a lot of things different the guy made me appointment at 2:00 but when I got there he complained that everyone was about leaving at 2:00 like I made the appointment they made me feel so bad I would never go back to this wood is on Lawyers Road I don't have a rating
We’ve been working with the team at Woodie’s for over 3 years for both vehicles. They are very thorough and diligent, and discuss any additional services needed or recommended with adequate detail to make an informed decision. Whether it’s an oil change, new tires, or a diagnostic checkup and fix, they’re always very professional and personable.
Have been coming to Woodys uptown for a few years years now, and they really have some of the best staff and mechanics in town. Always get the job done within a day of drop of no matter the work. Also they always have a smile and positive attitudes even when rude customers come in. Would recommend anyone who needs a service done to go to them.
Woodie's is so convenient and always a pleasure to deal with. I've been bringing my cars to them for 9 years and will continue to do so as long as I live here. Unlike other service shops, I have never felt like they are trying to scam me into providing additional services that my car just does not need. Thanks Woodie's, keep up the good work!
We love Woodie’s! Super convenient if you work in Uptown. The guys there are so nice, and never pushy. I feel comfortable asking them for advice (which I did often with my old beater) and knowing they won’t take advantage of me. They tell you like it is and let you make the decision. We try to never bring our cars anywhere else.
Prompt, efficient, professional service. No "up-selling" or nonsense charges. I had a leak in a tire and needed an annual State inspection. Woodie's patched the tire (no time wasted trying to sell me new tires) and handled the inspection. I had the car back within four hours, on a holiday (Good Friday). I will use them again.
I appreciate the Shuttle being close by- and thank you for calling and discussing concerns. I always feel good about the full car review when I get an oil change, as we have caught things early thanks to your thorough checks- though I have never get pressure to do any additional work. I’m glad to have you there woodie’s.
Tried to add things to my bill without calling, got an alignment and no spec sheet. Technician had to put it back on lift to get that and clearly wasn’t down well the first time based on the before and afters on spec sheet. I usually don’t go to places like this but figured it was close by since I live in uptown.
I actually checked up on Woodies and everything they told me about what was the matter with my car, and the services needed were all verifiable. Also they brought the old parts out for me to look at. They don’t do anything to your car without your permission and they explain it very honestly and openly.
I come here at least once, if not twice every weekday. I love the staff, and they know me by name. The prices are high, but in uptown this is normal. I would definitely recommend this place for the average convenient store purchases. They do serve foods such as hot dogs, pizzas, salads, etc.
Friendly and helpful staff. Even though their NCDOT system was temporarily down, they let me know and gave me the option to leave my vehicle in case it came back online that day (I did, and it worked out well!). Super convenient, very efficient and I will absolutely use them in the future.
This was my first time coming to Woodie's. I needed my tires rotated and an alignment. They found a number of additional issues that needed attention. They were very professional and helpful. They also give an extended guarantee. I will be happy to return for any repairs and maintenance.
They always have excellent availability and perform super quality work. Never feel like they’re up selling me or recommending unnecessary repairs. Everyone is extremely nice and professional. Paying for car repairs is never fun but this shop makes it as close to painless as possible.
Woodie's has always been friendly and forthright with me, whether the job is as simple as an oil change or complex as the replacement of lifters, cams, etc. which I recently needed. Their pricing and service has proven to be better than the dealership and they have won my business.
This is a great shop. I have used many mechanics over the years, and Woodie's Auto Service is easily the best. I am consistently impressed with their communication, their honestly, and the quality of their work. I cannot recommend Woodie's Auto Service highly enough.
Been to this location twice to give them the benefit of the doubt, but it’s useless. Paid almost 300 dollars for a diagnostic and pressure test, and then they quoted me for a 1000 job. Took my car to a different mechanic and paid a fraction of the cost. never again
I came in from out of town to check on my daughter’s car as it was making a bad sound when brake pedal was applied. I passed Woodies on my way downtown and thought I would stop there. Spoke with Rodney and he got me a timely estimate and got me out in decent time.
Finding a reliable mechanic is always top of my list when moving to a new city. Usually this process takes months - thankfully I ran into Woodies first trip in Charlotte. Very professional & fairly priced from my experience thus far. Would definitely recommend.
The shop failed to call me back and I nearly got stranded because my keys would have been locked in for the night. They claimed they called once only and got "mailbox full". It's not. Also no call in history. If there's ONE thing you dont forget to do...
We called Woodie's after receiving a high quote from the dealer. They are a walking distance from work, yet we've never tried them before. Their price was cheaper, their service was excellent and their customer service was awesome. We will be back!
I got my car done at Woodie’s auto service. Within a month, I was back for a similar issue, shuffling out more money for something that they should have fixed the first time. Also, their services are very expensive. I am a dissatisfied customer.
Can’t even make appointments correctly; walked in for an inspection after calling the day before and being told a drop-off time. Make it on time for my drop off and was told there was no appointment and had to come in another day. Waste of time
Woodie’s has been our go to place for 10+ years. They are always efficient, professional and great to work with. They help identify any areas that need to be addressed or monitored, and help resolve them in a timely, straightforward manner.
I have been using Woodie's for all of my car needs for years. They are always friendly and professional and never push services I do not need. I work Uptown and love being able to drop my car off in the morning and pick up in the afternoon.
The guys here are ALWAYS nice and helpful. Dustin took care of me tonight when I showed up minutes before they closed with a couple flat tires. He willingly stayed to assist me at no charge. That is true customer service! Thank you Dustin!
Woodie's was an incredible experience. I took my car in for their 28 point inspection before I drive it to Florida. Rodney was incredible with describing what I should have done and what I can save for next time. Definitely recommend!
I had a headlight needed to be changed and was told it would be expensive and take 2 1/2 hours. Woodie's changed it in thirty (30) minutes. I have taken my car here several times and they have never failed me. I totally trust them!!!
Pretty disappointed in the quote I got for a new radiator and hoses at Woodies in Uptown CLT. They wanted $1400. I got a new radiator and hoses for $650 at another local shop. Avoid getting ripped off and don’t go to Woodies.
Woodie's at 520 N. Tryon has been keeping my 2 cars in top condition for over 10 years. Very trustworthy, great people and work hard to get the job done in a timely and reliable manner. The place to go for great car service.
BEWARE!! They will try to upsell you without thoroughly performing diagnostics. I paid the roughly $70 test fee and was pushed to spend 800+ dollars on tires without knowing for certain that was the root cause of the issue.
incredibly dishonest and ridiculously high prices. take your money elsewhere. i have no respect for mechanics who try to take advantage of a woman because she doesn’t know better. unfortunately for them, i do know better.
Randy was very patient, professional, and explained things thoroughly. The transportation driver (sorry, I can't remember his name) was very friendly, provided excellent, and did not make me wait long for pick-up.
I have been using this auto shop for years and I have had nothing but excellent service from them. Any time I have a question about my car or need something done, I know I can call them and get a straight answer.
During my routine service noticed some belts were worn and to check back later...I did and Bill indicated another 15K on the belts. I would not have know otherwise... as always top notch on their service.
I have used them for oil change, inspection and tire replacement over the last 10 years. They are conveniently located in Charlotte uptown. They are thorough in their findings and do an excellent job.
I appreciate the transparency when discussing issues with your vehicle. They are clear and explain issues in detail. They update you and have a sense or urgency in fixing your car, which is good.
If you live near one, consider yourself your lucky. I work in Uptown and the location I use has always been the best. Appreciate the friendliness and the care in which they keep me informed.
Randy will lie to his own mother a real con artistwill con anyone to put a dime in his pocket and the owners dont care because his numbers are good be what happened to honest managers
My family and I have been using Woodies for our vehicles for some time now. The staff are always polite, work is done as quickly as possible. We've always had a positive experience.
I have an old car and the repairs and parts they quoted me for were exorbitant for a pretty cheap and easy fix - cost me 200 in parts and 2 hours of work and they quoted over 1000
Offered me $5600 to fix my transmission when the dealership charged $4500? I'm wondering who the experts are? The staff was extremely nice and hospitable. They fixed my headlight.
I have used Woodie's for several years now and have never been disappointed. Excellent technicians who will let you make your own informed decisions. That goes a long way with me.
I was impressed with the quality of service across the board. I highly recommend Woodie’s and will be coming back when I need any kind of auto service in the Charlotte area.
I requested a state inspection. Upon completion I received a text with pictures of my vehicle and recommendations. Thank you so much for your professionalism and efficiency.
one of the best experiences with an auto mechanic. dropped car off, received diagnostic via text link, agreed on work, picked up car. plus the coffee when i dropped off :)
Great service. I took my 2000 Tundra in for an alternater replacement, and the guys at the front were very friendly, and the mechanics had it done the same day quickly.
Woodie's is the best! Honest and timely, and we have used them for years on everything from domestic to foreign autos and even our pickup truck. Highly recommended.
They send out coupon via mail which had listed a service that could be used with the coupon. When it's time to pay, i wasn't allowed to use it. Very unprofessional.
Great communication and a quick turn around on some tires. Prices were good and Daniel went the extra mile with customer service. They've earned a return customer.
Honest, upfront people I have a 2002 truck so have had lots of repair/replacement. Top notch work. Almost always same day service. Absolutely recommend Woodie's.
I unexpectedly got a nail in my tire and they were able to squeeze me in last minute. Staff was super friendly and service was A+! Would definitely visit again!
Amazing inspection results sent to my phone with pictures of everything. Even techs were vocal and pleasant. Also drop off around 8a- fresh sausage biscuits.
Needed a new fuel pump and these guys got it done in less than 24 hours for me. The best part is that they’re honest! Randy at the desk is really nice too.
Josh found the tire warranty that I had forgotten and thus did not charge me to fix the flat tire. He was able to squeeze me in without an appointment.
I was real skeptical about going here being that I am a woman and mechanic shop can tell u anything but nope not them..!!!thanks so much again Patrick
They are the best! Always courteous, helpful and efficient! They have been really helpful to me. And they're just around the corner! Thanks Guys!
Down to earth, helpful crew. Not out to gauge you with crazy prizes or sell you non-stop. They get the job asked to do done which I love.
Daniel and the rest of the team that I spoke with were communicative, informative and friendly. I think I got my money's worth. Thanks!
Offered free shuttle service while my car was being worked on. Informed me of needed repair services and price before making repairs.
Fantastic experience! Super nice folks who are very professional. They even offer to drop you off and pick up! Very clean space too!
Woodie’s will pressure you for service your vehicle doesn’t need. Watch out for this group. Low quality parts, service, and ethics.
As always, Woodies quickly diagnosed the problem, called and gave me a quote, and are always great to work with. Highly recommend.
Higher than I wanted to pay, similar to other shops. Was close to work and had a shuttle. Completed when they said it would be.
Have been using Woodies for about 20 years. Will use them for 20 more! I do miss Nolan at the uptown location!! :-)
