If there was a choice of no star, I would have gladly chosen it. Training is needed with the lack of customer service some of the employees provided. I was in a rush to get to work and thought I'd pop into metro (because it's the closest) as I sped through the aisle, I spotted that my favourite flavoured chips were on sale. So without a second look I grabbed the chips that had a massive label with "$1.10" and as I scanned the packet it came up a different price. I notified the young fake brown haired girl who was overlooking the self service and she didn't bother to explain to me what was wrong, she looked as lost as a puppy smh. If you're going to put employees in certain places at least have them know what they're doing. Then, she spoke to an older woman (short black hair and wrinkled face) who told me that it's my fault for not looking and reading the small fine print properly?! Then had the nerve to tell me that my opinion of how they set the labels were not needed?! And that they were labeled for drinks but placed it clearly where the chips are. How is that my fault you don't know how to do your job??? Smh. If you cannot handle a customer simply giving you some advice about how to fix the problem then don't work in customer service. So in reply to her rude customer service and the fact that she told me my opinion as customer is WRONG please find yourself an elderly home who can stand your old ass zz I wasn't even trying to be rude but simply stating. All you had to do was be nice, I would have gladly paid for it zzzzzzz annoying and pathetic customer service experience.

On Friday 10/09/2021 I went to Woolies Woollomooloo around 3:40pm to grab some protein before my training session. While checking in on the QR code prior entry, another guy walked in and looked to me like "what are you looking at" clearly because he did not check in. (Woolworth Woolloomooloo has no covid Marshal or anybody at the door to check if people is checking in or not). On my way out to the self check-out I came across to staff member SEAN (mid 50's, caucasian middle built men) And I've notified him about the person that did not checked-in. His response was " That is not my job" "I'm not getting paid to do that", and he suggested if I want to complain I should send en email the hierarchy of the company, as he won't do anything to change the check-in QR process at the door. After hearing the guy, I've not only felt extremely unsafe at that supermarket, the lack of professionalism showed by him was disgusting and made the whole shopping experience a bit bitter to be honest. I have been affected personally by Delta and we have some cases around 2011, so duty of care should be everybody's TOP-PRIORITY at this stage. Please Woolworth ensure your staff complaints with current Health Orders, and make sure your staff cares about the community they're at. Somebody like that guy definetly should NOT be working in costumer service with such a terrible attitude. I would like to say I rarely complain, but this is serious and should be addressed. Regards, Ch.

This place used to be so good. Staff were always friendly and helpful, items were always well stocked with a good variety. I don't know what's happened over the past year or so (covid aside) but things have gone downhill in a big way. All of the regular staff have gone and been replaced with people, who at best, actively avoid making eye contact with customers. A special mention goes out to the rudest barista I have ever encountered. She will pretend to look busy to avoid talking to you, then when she does acknowledge your presence (with a death stare), will stand there like a mute forcing you to state your order before reluctantly turning away to make the coffee. She has never said hello, goodbye, thank you or anything else for that matter. In an environment where so many people are out of work thanks to the covid restrictions, you would think she'd be happy to have a job. Apparently not. The Asian lady who occasionally makes coffees is lovely though.

There’s this creep working here for years. He’s super short, Italian looking but I overheard him saying he was from England. If you’re a girl wearing a gym gear, shorts, a tiny t-shirt or any outfits that reveal your skin, watch out. I raised my concern with Woolworths a while ago because he was very obvious in his behaviors (patting on his coworker’s shoulder to get his attention when I walked by them, etc.) but he’s still here. He’s friendly with some locals but just rude with me when I had to interact with him. In addition, parking validation barcode on the receipt often fails and it’s such a hassle to ask for assistance just to exit the car park. I only go there because it’s literally a min drive from my home and is convenient. I go to bigger Woolies when I’m looking for something specific, as this Metro store is very basic and selection is limited.

Woolworths Metro in East Sydney is the most poorly run in Sydney. The purchaser buys the same amount of expensive products as they do they're most popular. Clearly they're going to run out, and it can take a month before it returns to the shelves. They take the Opening Hours sign down and open an hour late and close an hour early. The staff have the attitude that the customers are a pest. I only go there because it's close. Edit: I don't seem to be able to write another review. After my last review, the opening hours went up again. Now they're gone. So I'm going to have another whinge, and see if they go up again.

Irritating little Woolworths that nowadays closes at 10pm(historically midnight) which is irritatingly early in the inner suburbs. Limited range, high prices, but magnificent for the fact it is actually there, compared to the barren supermarketless area of old days before 2013. Includes a Cafe area with tables and WiFi where some people sometimes hang around which I don't completely understand. I'm sure it's great fun sitting in the supermarket using your laptop but the store is also convenient for groceries at premium prices, limited variety, and no home brand options.

  • andrew baker

You are no longer a 'pick up' store for a few basic items. Your range has increased significantly . Please can you make trolleys available so the baskets can be supported and bigger trolleys as the range is being increased again. Hate shopping having to lug a basket round.....in fact I wont. Please replace the trolleys that always used to be there to assist the shopping experience otherwise it's back to Coles and Woolworths at Potts Point who provide assistance. Remember never loose your focus on the customer.

The WORST customer service ever from the cook in the deli to the assistance Manager Grant (Looks like Ned kelly's bro) who didn't even apologise because the oven was not turn on to cook food and making me wait over 15 minutes and even then the cook wasn't ready to do his job because he was occupied by other tasks. Only Emily was the decent one there who managed to recognise the issue and apologised on behalf of the store. Terrible management and new employees required, except Emily who should be promoted.

  • Marchie Hya Condon (Maya)

Well stocked, friendly, clean and well-managed shop for all budgets! They are selling a lot of ready to eat food that you may consume at their seating area equipped with microwave where you can eat your meal after shopping. Especially practical if you are on the go. I am a visitor in Sydney and would be more than happy to 'take this shop back with me to the Gold Coast'

  • John Cheng

Rare! Metro Woolworths provides free parking (15min for less than $10, or 1hr for $10 spending). More variety and range of groceries than couple years ago. Free Wifi and sitting area for a quick bite on the window seats or lunch on the upstairs with big table and more sittings. Convenient range of hot food, coffee and soup, and fresh sushi and salad as well.

  • SARGES’ Family

I’ve never been to a metro store before and I was pleasantly surprised! Still the great range I know and love but with an added sushi bar, fresh to go fridge section and cafe. Fantastic! And this one also has parking underneath that suits our extra tall car and gave the first hour of parking free if we spent $10 instore …

Working in the CBD, I often drop in to this Woolworths for emergency snacks and/ or a morning coffee. QR code check-in is easy, and the store is always clean and orderly. The female barista who regularly works when I visit is a superstar, nailing my order each time. My colleagues also always appreciate this service. ☕ Thank you!

  • Kara Martin

Ok, they must have a new new manger. Because they have gone through the "lets change all the products and where everything is placed " i have to say though. This time it is finally for the better!! More choices of the products i like and slightly a better layout. Will see how long it is before they change it again ‍♀️ …

  • Georgia Weaver

Mostly good here all round, I like that they can cook things like pizza but some over priced lunches - $25 for a meal for two when you can go up the road for a $10 lunch that's cooked for you in a matter of minutes?! No brainer. Apparently they've been know for putting their prices up over the lunch period too... Shameful

  • F K

This Woolies has it all great food and coffee just sit down relax. I come here often when i work in the area and the quality stays the same. The verity of salads and hot food is great and they make good coffee as well, they upgraded the food court lounge if you will, looks great and ferls like home, chrz woolies.

  • Frank Burns

Great selection for a smaller store. Staff very friendly. One supervisor I observed being quite rude to the barista. Dictating what customers had arrived first and served first. Only problem with that is she was completely incorrect and was more concerned about belittling staff.

  • Mark Butler

Nice little Woolies in an old building. Doesn't have a huge range of course but still some fresh food and all the main staples. Still also has some specials. I wish we had a local Woolworths Metro in my area rather than QE and IGA that are even smaller and more expensive.

  • Sara Gallini

The supermarket round the corner where staff is friendly, wifi is free and coffee is alright. Targeted to single professionals, hence limited range of groceries for families (e.g. they have dogs yogurt but not much fresh/frozen fish and seafood).

  • jayemkay

Designed for commuters with good range of pre packaged meals etc Not cheap. Closes at 10pm. Click and collect. Address shown as Balmain East which is incorrect. Tried to edit but not successful. Trust me, it's not in Balmain, it's in East Sydney.

  • Sam Mehanna

Small supermarket not much variety and choice. Works well for people working in the and around the area but not suitable for weekly family home shop - need more variety of products. Good cafe barrista made however pastries are delivered frozen.

  • John Green

I’ve never seen such a badly managed supermarket : products are always under stocked, especially bread and essential products like eggs or meat. Certains items that aren’t essential have a lot of choices in terms of brands whereas certain

  • Marc Sibille

Convenient for my shopping on my way back home from work. Very friendly staff. Opening/closing hours have shrunk since the first opening and it's sad. The shop sometimes isn't accessible 15 minutes prior the advertised closing time...

  • Micheal Shultz

Brought a chicken avocado toasties after I bit into it tasted nill avocados.. Opened it was just cheese and chicken confronted the person who sold it with her attitude problem said under the cheese!! Worst customer experience

  • Sebastian Lopez M

Beautiful store with a wide range of products. Excellent concept by Woolworths. The bakery side is always fresh. Saladas look good and a reasonable price. They could lift up or make an effort to keep tables clean and tidy.

  • Igor Vieira

Well located with all the convenience of a local supermarket and the additional options for breakfast or lunch from the coffee shop inside the supermarket (especially good if the weather outside is not good)

  • Ty

I turned up there on a thursday night and they had switched all the lights off everyone was gone they were supposed to be open till 10 but were not also the need to get more things put into the store

  • Sam Hobby

Terrific idea with the Metro stores. I use this store a few times a month to get groceries before work. Staff are friendly and this store is open earlier than the other stores in the area.

  • Cyrille G

It's a big convenient store. Whatever you need urgently you can find here without the massive price tag like in a convenience store. There's also a coffee shop with an awesome barista.

  • Tim Ramacciotti

this is quite a busy store it's a reasonable selection makes good use of space and the layout has recently been re planned to better be able to find the things that you're looking for

  • RBP

If you live in the area, it's undeniably convenient. The store does only offer a limited selection of the usual large range of other Woolies stores, but all the basics are there.

  • Mikey

I hope this Woolies can improve because its closest to home but have found the fruit here sits on the shelves longer than the competition, Coles or Harris Farm is more fresh.

  • ALVIN VARGHESE

Everything looks messed up in this wollies and always run out of stock * icecream*. They wont even care to transfer extra stocks to shelves, even if we ask them to do so

  • Emilio Camacho

This is a really well stocked store, location was very convenient since we stayed at a hotel nearby, great place to stuck up on snacks for a day of exploring the city!

  • Mitchell K

Our local supermarket and one of the best in Sydney. Great sushi bar made fresh onsite, barista and great selection of fresh food. Highly recommend. Free parking also

  • Antoine M

Easy to navigate around the store. Not a huge variety of products and dearer than Coles in Kings Cross! Fruits & Vegs are fresh but price-wise no as competitive!

  • Lisa McClymont

Gorgeous little specialty supermarket, a great place to just drop by and grab something amazing to eat.. - or grab a coffee and sit down and chill with free WiFi

  • jason84nz

Most of the grocery items in this metro store are about 30% higher in cost than what a traditional Woolworths or Coles supermarket would sell the same item for.

  • Kenewa Gamanga

Very organized grocery store with friendly staff on site... Woolloomooloo Woolworths has an in-service café that adds value to the customer-friendly atmosphere

  • Luke Chaffey

Came up to Sydney for a couple of days, and found this Woolies nearby the hotel. Great range, and head in close to closing for some cheap chicken and pies.

  • bessasd

This is a very convenient small market. It opens at 07:00 am and it has everything you need to cater yourself as a visitor in the area. Highly suggested.

  • Thomas Worden

Great place to pick up groceries. Unlike Coles it only does groceries and doesn't have a bunch of other thing to buy. The quality was great though!

  • Andrew Farley

Worst woolworths ever rude staff and can never find items you need as shelves are never filled and don't mention milk because they hardly have any

  • edwin kon chee how

Conveniently located next to Sydney boulevard hotel. Small size supermarket selling Freshly made sushi and a coffee counter. Not too bad.

  • dominic haren

Overpriced understocked and the staff to customer ratio sux unless you included the excessive amount of Loss Prevention Security staff.

  • Anton Mills

Big for a Metro Woolworths but you'll struggle to find everything needed as its more focused on convenience. Underground parking below.

  • Scott Griffin

Consistently disappointing. Limited range made worse by "product temporarily unavailable" half empty shelves and no staff to assist.

  • M SO

They have useless products for the area, as charcoal for bbqs, but they don't have hot dogs or hamburgers anymore. Used to be better

  • Carrick Campbell

More like a giant convenience store than a supermarket, handy but can be pricey. If you want a bigger shop walk up to Kings X Coles

  • Gregaro Evynolydidevich

Also known as rich people woolies. Good for posh readymeals if they're on sale, otherwise it's slightly better than 7 11 pricing

  • Carol Macbeth

No service at the Deli Bar , it is always unattended and a long wait for staff to come and serve you but overall a great store

  • Alistair Robertson

Reasonable selection for a smaller Woolworths. Given the proximity to the city, would be better to see more luxury items here.

  • Jeannette Thuler

I like woolworths as it carries everything I need for my fortnightly household shop ...and at reasonable & comparable pricing.

  • Muthu Nathan

They have a fresh sushi counter and make fresh sandwiches too alongside all the regular things you’d want at a Woolies.

  • Russ Nat

I went looking for a cooked chicken, couldn't have been anymore helpful. The staff are just really decent people.

  • J White

Closed at 8pm (2 hours early) and failed to update their hours of operation on Google or the Woolworths website

  • Matt Sutton

Extremely limited stock selection. Have been unable to get sliced turkey from the deli for two weeks now...

  • Brent Maxwell

Convenient little Wooly's with all the basic stuff you need. Well laid out and good location with parking.

  • Mark Smith

I know its the Kind Cross and no one drives but getting a park here is very hard. Otherwise its a Woollies

  • Trent Bowen

Great coffee, a space with free WiFi to work from... but expect your groceries to be expensive as hell!

  • Saranya Khlainak

I always love woolworths and their choices for vegan. Now gotta give them a clap for introducing this.

  • Raju Kunwar

Best place for a decent yet cheap coffee. Very clean and highly organised store. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

  • Old Man Jed

This is a quite adequate store. Good selection, reasonable prices, helpful and competent staff.

  • Milan Babu Thapaliya

Its good but needs bit more of selection. Its Very less on veggies side. Friendly service

  • Nazmus Sadat

The most expensive woolworhts... Has almost nothing in common with other Woolworth prices

  • Kara Huddart

Would love to see more Ceres Organics products here....not just the rice cracker bites

  • Babs Mathews

Love this place, lots of lunch options and a small store with all the essentials.

  • Daniel Soden

This needs to me change to a Woolworths Metro it is definitely not a Woolworths
