I regret going with Yan bakery for my wedding. The day I went to just inquire about pricing and cake designs the owner was very pushy. She was friendly and nice to us but she was very pushy with selling her cakes, I had asked for a coffee cream cake but she kept saying it’s better to get the fruit cake ( now I think it’s because it costs more than just making a coffee cream filling). She made me feel embarrassed for even wanting a coffee flavored cake for my wedding because she said not everyone likes coffee. So suggested to go with strawberry and mango, I felt obligated to listen to her because she was very pushy and even brought out some samples for us to try so I felt bad. The cake was good but it wasn’t what I wanted, but again I felt pressured by her. I wanted to go home and discuss with my fiancé first before committing but she kept saying I need to pay the deposit right now or else she can’t provide an invoice. I said a few times that I want to think about it first but she kept pressuring me, so already being stressed with wedding planning and needing to get a cake sorted out I did end up paying that same day. She did work with me on my budget so I did appreciated that. The cost included delivery and decorating the day of. She ensured me that I just need to provide flowers the day of and she would handle everything else. We provided flowers on our wedding day for the cake but my sister said when Helen came to drop off the cake she was in a rush and said because there wasn’t a designated cake table at that time (there was a small table available that day provided by the restaurant, so I’m not sure why she had said that) that she’s not going to decorate the cake. She almost left but my sister stopped her and asked her to decorate the cake like she had promised as part of the transaction. When we cut the cake during our reception the fruit was still frozen, a few people had mentioned to us that the fruit in their cake was frozen and we had already left it out for at least 3 hours. Helen knew what time we were going to cut the cake so that should have been accounted for when she was making it. I will never go back to this bakery, I felt she talked a lot about how great her bakery is and that’s why so many people keep going back but honestly my experience was not great. I could look past her being pushy but when my sister said she almost left without decorating the cake an hour before my reception started it ruined any respect I have for her and her business. This is not to talk negatively about her cake, the sample I had was good. But my overall experience during the ordering and actual day of my wedding was not pleasant and no bride should have to experience that on their wedding day.

Edit: The owners saw the review and told us that the cake was made by an intern because the owner was ill. That was also why the cake wasn’t ready for pickup. They offered a refund, but we opted for a remake. The remake looked so much better, just as advertised. The owners even delivered it to us, which was super cool of them. We really appreciate that they take customer feedback seriously. Original: I ordered a cake to pick up a week later in the morning - we arrived 30 minutes after the agreed upon time and the cake still wasn’t ready! The decorations were rushed and shoddily put on - just look at the three "flowers" - it was a disappointment considering that it cost $50. It tasted fine, but if you're looking for a beautifully decorated cake, you may be disappointed.

I've been a customer for many many years. I love their cakes as it's always soft and moist. One time I forgot to order a cake and called them in the morning. They managed to get it ready for me in the late afternoon in time for me to pick it up for dinner. Helen (I'm guessing is the owner) is great to work with and she's never tried to sell me a bigger cake than I need. Many times she tells me the cake size I'm order is too large, but my family loves the cakes here, so I need the extra so that there are seconds! I usually order the fresh mango cake, which I love, and they don't add a glaze (preservative) on the top that most bakeries add. I've also had durian, mango/strawberry moose but usually end up with mango. They don't sell anything else, just cakes made to order.

First time customer and I was extremely pleased with the mango/strawberry birthday cake that I ordered. Came here from all the great reviews and it is certainly true, this is the BEST Asian fruit cake that I have tried. The sponge cake is flavoured and has a wonderful sponge texture and is not too soft. The whip cream was not too sweet and tasted fresh! The fruits were fresh and actually ripe. When placing my order, I communicated through E-mail and had sent a picture of what I would like and the cake turned out identically perfect! I’m so happy that I found this place and it is definitely worth the drive. Highly recommend.

Yan Bakery made our wedding cake and it was absolutely delicious!! My husband (now) picked a mocha cake and i didn't taste it until the wedding day and it was so moist, you can tell they used wholesome ingredients and made it with love! All of our friends couldn't stop talking about how good it was. It almost got finished and some people even took some home. They also lent us the cake cutting tools and delivered to the reception. Will definitely be going back for sure! Thank you Yan Bakery for the best wedding cake ever!

I ordered this cake as today is the last day this colleague is working with us. He was very surprised when he saw the cake. He shared the taro cake with all colleagues at work. We all liked the taro cake as many taro inside the cake. other colleagues said they never found taro cakes could be so tasty as this cake. The cream is nice; not too sweet. The time we spent together, when we tasted the cake, was very relaxing. We spent a great time this Christmas Eve-small celebration for Christmas!

Helen who runs the place was amazing to us and helped to ensure that we had a great birthday cake for our daughter's second birthday party. She was extremely helpful on short notice and gave us a wonderful cake, filled with real fruit and beautifully decorated with fresh cream when other cake shops seem to think they're selling Uranium or something and wouldn't do anything without a month's advance notice. I hope to come to this place again for many birthdays to come.

My daughter ordered a cake from this bakery for my 70th birthday. Unfortunately it was not what we had expected. The cake was smudged in the front since they said that's the biggest box they have for the cake. When we cut the cake, the fruit which Helen said would be fresh was actually frozen when we bit into it. The red color of the cake left behind stains. I wish I can leave a good review but just disappointed that this was the cake for my 70th.

Amazing cake! We ordered a 6 inch round vanilla sponge cake with durian filling for Mother's day (price $40). Despite ordering the cake Saturday at 11:00am (Mother's day is Sunday), the boss was able to make the cake and have it available for pick up Saturday at 5:00pm. The taste of the sponge cake and whipped cream frosting was light and fluffy, and the durian filing was generous. Will definitely order again and try the fresh mango cake.

Yan Bakery was recommended to us as the place to go for wedding cakes, and they did not disappoint. Helen was wonderful to work with and helped us through the entire process, from choosing the design, sampling, and sourcing the flowers. The final product matched our design exactly and of course was delicious. We also order a durian cake based on the reviews on here before the wedding, and can confirm it is as good as others have said.

My Husband and I got our wedding cake from here. We recommended to our friend and she got her son's 1st birthday cake from and then again we got our birthday cakes from here as well. Each occasion our familes and friends are complimenting and asking where we got our cake. Helen has been sweet enough to accommodate our last min requests as well. We ordered a fresh mango sheet cake for our baby's 100 days dinner based on the great reviews but I find it a little disappointing. Pros: fresh real cream that's really smooth and not overly sweet, and friendly service. Cons: very little filling of mango and the sponge cake is a little dry and rough. Overall it's just okay, and I would probably go somewhere else for our next cake.

I purchased a durian cake from here for my boyfriends 32nd birthday and he loved it! I’m not a big fan of durian but I still had some and it was delicious. So that says a lot already. They are quick when responding to emails and that’s something I can appreciate. Very accommodating! Definitely worth a try. I will be ordering from here again :)

My wife and I ordered a vanilla cake with cream and fruit filling for our gender reveal party this weekend. It was blueberry for boy! The cake was so delicious. Very fresh whip cream and berries inside. It was also beautifully decorated on the outside with blue and pink buttercream swirl. Helen was so nice, wonderful customer service as well.

We loved our custom made cake for our baby's cake smash. It was beautifully designed and delicious! Helen was super friendly and helpful. Although ours was a last minute order, she was still super accommodating of our needs. I would certainly go back to this bakery for our next cake. Five stars for the cake, and for our experience overall.

I bought 2 birthday cakes yesterday and the lady was super accommodating! I ordered in the morning and I was able to pick it up at the end of the day. I got a durian cake and a fresh mango cake. Both were delicious!!! I was late arriving because of traffic but she was super nice about it. Support small businesses! Well worth the price.

I walked in to buy a mango cake for my boyfriend birthday and I didn't realize that it's better to pre-order at least 24 hours in advance (my fault, I'll do that next time)! But they made me a mango cake in 10 minutes and it was fantastic. You could literally inhale the whole cake by yourself I dream about it still!

Little local family shop operating for the last 20+ years. They primarily make cater for special occasions. I ordered a mango cake and it is world's better than other fruit cakes out there. Would recommend their fruit cake for any occasion.

My go to place for all my cake needs. Mango mousse cake is awesome. The fresh mango is so sweet! Their fresh fruit cake is good as well! I like the mousses more though. The cake is light and fluffy and not too sweet. It's just perfect.
