It’s been a year now since the one and only time my son was seen by Dr Z - I took him in for an appointment for a tongue and lip tie release. This is a warning of mothers with young children to be cautious about the lack of precautions taken to protect your precious baby, lack of empathy, as well as a lack of professionalism for age appropriate care. My appointment was on a Thursday and off the bat it seemed to be going well, the office was clean and she verbalized taking my son at the end of the day when it was empty was for his safety (since he was under 2 months and usually the recommendation is prior to 8 weeks for the release). We talked and everyone was nice and friendly. However I feel like it was smoke and mirrors. later that day he wasn’t nursing well and seemed tired. I just thought the procedure was over stimulating for him and took it out of him. By the next day he was hardly nursing and lethargic. He ended up developing a fever 102.8 I tried calling the on call number which no one answered or responded to. The instructions even recommended emailing their FACEBOOK page which seemed unprofessional but I did out of desperation. Again, no response. The discharge instruction paperwork said “a fever up to 103 can be expected”. Which is so inaccurate being that my son hadn’t yet had his first round of vaccines. Because of the high fever we ended up having to take him to the ER and he was admitted for three days and they had to perform a septic work up. When i FINALLY received a response from the office on Monday, Dr Z called me, I explained the fever and stay at the hospital and she said, “that’s so funny you mention that. My kids also had a fever over the weekend but I, of course didn’t have to take them to the hospital”. Even a year later, these words are burned into my memory as a lack of empathy for my fragile baby. To add salt to the wound, when the front desk called me Tuesday (the next day) to schedule his follow up, I did decline and stated I would be receiving follow up care elsewhere as I didn’t appreciate the lack of precautions taken to protect my baby knowing there was some virus going around the office - the secretary response was, “oh yeah that was a bad week in the office”. OH I’m sorry YOU had a bad week!!? Truly blew my mind!! Aside from not going over the discharge paperwork (which was blatantly misguiding on age appropriate parameters) Dr Z also didn’t educate me on the risk of the water laser which could be aspiration. I’m disappointed in myself for not knowing more prior but I also know she has a professional and ethical obligation that didn’t seem to be taken seriously in my experience. She also was one of the more expensive quotes I received for the procedure. You don’t always get what you pay for.

Communication is horrible and no empathy shown for their mistakes. Do better by ensuring your patients are well informed of what to expect before their visit prior to arrival and not the day of wasting my time and money like gas is cheap!! So unprofessional!! Edit: Don’t try to make yourself look better by the response given. Facts are you had plenty of time to inform me you weren’t accepting any more new patients PRIOR to my arrival and even before me making it the back to be seen. That alone was unprofessional. My son WAS seen there the same day my daughter as seen and it was not up to me to document that activity however now you’re calling me a liar correct? 3 minutes I was in the office? Try again. It took more than 3 minutes for me to get to the back for my kids to be seen while still filling out paperwork, and then to be told what could’ve been told to me when you called to confirm the appointment for both children… not just one. Regardless of the appointments rescheduled prior since we’re giving out details. Facts are I should’ve been informed and your office failed to do so. Then you want to tell me the day of, in person, that one of my children can’t be seen due to you being over capacity, but yet here in your review section for everyone to see you state differently when you had the opportunity to explain this before hand.

My son had his lip and tongue tie released at ZPD today and it was a stressful experience for me as a first time mom, but Dr. Z and her staff made me feel a whole lot better about the procedure and the aftercare to follow. I will say my son is 3 months and Dr. Z was not able to get as deep with the tongue tie release as she would have liked because he was very squirmy, but that is not her fault. I definitely should’ve brought him in sooner and now I know for my next baby if they have a tongue tie as well! I appreciate her letting me know. Even with the amount she did release which looks to be a good portion since his tongue was basically held down/ heart shaped tongue, he is no longer making a clicking sound when he eats so I am glad it is immediately helping him. I also appreciate the homeopathic medicine that was given to us to use before we do his oral exercises. We have a follow up in a week and I will update with my experience at ZPD and my son’s tongue and lip tie release. I will recommend Dr. Z and her staff and will continue to use her for his future appointments.

I had an amazing experience at Z Pediatric Dentistry getting by 2 week old son's tongue and lip ties released. The office is beautiful and inviting, the staff are friendly and helpful, and Dr. Z is extremely knowledgeable and compassionate. The procedure was very fast and appeared to be relatively painless for my son. They had a lovely nursing room for me to wait in and nurse my son in after. Dr. Z did a very thorough job of educating me on what I should expect in the healing process and even followed up with me via phone a couple days after the procedure. Before we saw Dr. Z my son was losing weight, not transferring any milk and I was breast feeding and pumping and bottle feeding. Within a week post-procedure we were exclusively breastfeeding. I am extremely grateful for their compassionate care and highly recommend their office.

I will say the Dr and the staff are very nice and friendly. However, if you go here and get a treatment plan I would get a second opinion. Her treatment plans are very aggressive. 4K for my 7 year old which I paid. For my 5 yo the treatment plan was about the same but I felt like it was a lot considering my son didn’t allow them to take X-rays. I know my sons teeth aren’t in the best health and obviously need some work. Even after I asked is there another option we can go she basically said no and offered care credit. This quote is out of pocket expense because we do have dental insurance and is including general anesthesia. The second opinion I received couldn’t agree with her treatment plan and also said they will no longer refer this dentist to his patients who need a pediatric dentist.

After extensive research on the best place to take my son for a tongue tie reversal procedure I decided to go with Z Dentistry based on previous reviews and I’m glad I did! Loved the office setup, atmosphere, the genuinely friendly staff, and Dr. Z! Super professional, listened to my concerns, and incredibly attentive. Dr. Z is simply amazing and I truly wish more dentists could take notes from her on how to treat their patients. My six year old son actually looks forward to visiting Dr. Z. Needless to say, the frenectomy procedure was a huge life impacting success and we have seen a full 180 change - best decision we ever made. I highly recommend Z Dentistry.

I was referred by my lactation consultant. Absolutely love Dr. Z! Step by step she walked my husband and I both through my sons lip and tongue tie. She was educated with the latest info and made us feel comfortable from beginning to end! I also love her cute and quant room for breastfeeding moms! It's such a relief to not have to feed my baby in a bathroom! Her staff is so friendly too. Highly recommend! They go the extra mile! Update! 12-22 We still love Dr. Z! I personally love how she treats moms. She goes out of her way to train her team to do just the same. She has a light presence and my son still loves her to this day. Wouldn't go anywhere else!

I love the Z Pediatric Dentistry, the doctor and staff is so nice a very professional, as well as the dental work on my daughter. My daughter Jo’Nae Hodge is a patient there and they treat her so nicely that she looks forward to going back. Jo’Nae had X-rays taken, exams, teeth cleaning and extractions, their work was excellent. The atmosphere is so cute I love the way it’s decorated with the mirror and TV’s for the kids to watch movies and as well in the back. From the moment walking into the office to the moment we left our experience was amazing. We had a warm welcome and quick check in process with the receptionist. Monica helped tremendously in making my son feel comfortable and stayed by his side while the male tech took his X-rays and did the cleaning. He was also so kind and patient with my son and explained the whole process to calm my sons nerves. Dr.Z is always super friendly and so knowledgeable. We have been coming here for 5 years and highly recommend this facility.

As always everything is always Great! Friendly people and smiles! My kids always enjoy coming here. Everything was Great! Friendly staff from the time that you walk into the door. Just look at those smiles. Dr Z and her team are absolutely amazing. My kids look forward to seeing them and dread having to leave. This picture was taken after their check up and after a filling. The very first filling ever neither was scared or nervous. It is such a calming atmosphere with such sweet and caring staff the kids leave happier than when they walked in. That is unheard of anywhere else and speaks volumes of the care, training and skill you get from Dr. Z and her team.

Dr Z is the best dentist! My kids get scared and cry a lot and she’s always very patient with them and puts us all at ease. She gives us plenty of time and attention and keeps us informed about what she’s doing. She also performed a tongue tie on my oldest child and was great at providing us with different options and suggestions and was really attentive during the follow up to the procedure. My kids really like her and they’ve been seeing her since they first got their teeth.

Dr.Z and her staff are amazing! My daughter has anxiety and has had some traumatic experiences with other dentists at other offices. I explained this at our first visit and the staff was so incredibly patient and willing to talk her through every step of what they were doing and how it might feel. They were patient when she got emotional and remained calm and willing to take things at her pace. We have now been 3 times and every time has been a wonderful experience.

I love this dentist she is so amazing with all my kids. Today my little one had to get a couple Cavities filled and I thought that her mouth would be numb but they use a laser technique so that there was no needles and no numbing of her whole mouth. This laser numbs the tooth as it's working on the cavity. My daughter had no problems. And her didn't didn't feel funny after. Thank you so much. The whole experience was great and I have all my kids coming here now.

We have liked Dr. Z since we met her! She's been very good with our son, who she did a frenectomy on at 3 months old. He's now almost 2 and we wouldn't go anywhere else. We loved the holistic medicine she gave us for the healing after his procedure. Also, they ask if you want fluoride or not. Thank you for being friendly and having a really nice and accommodating facility. Update: we just had a checkup, still love it! My son is now 2 years and 3 months.

I cried as we left today because this is the best dentist experience we’ve ever had! My son has dental anxiety, and we have not been able to make it through appointments at other offices. The staff were so kind and gentle. The tech took her time and explained everything to my son, even letting him touch and hold the instruments so he could see they weren’t scary. Dr. X was very sweet and kind with him. She’s awesome! I’m very thankful for Z Dentistry.

I LOVE DR. Z and her staff! Everyone is beyond patient and so helpful! I love how their approach is about setting a calm environment so that the kids do not develop a fear for the dentist, which so many people have! I love them so much I use my out of network benefits b/c they don’t take my insurance. Even if I have to pay out of pocket I prefer to do that, than take my kids anywhere else! Dr.Z is our one and only DENTIST!! ❤️

You know they’re good when your 6 year old is excited to go to the dentist like it’s a trip to the zoo. We love Dr Z and all of her staff. Everyone is so incredibly compassionate and patient. This is our 3rd appointment with them and my 6yr old just lays down and enjoys the visit . They were also incredibly patient with my 20m old who does not like his mouth messed with.

Dr.Z was awesome, I took my 3 children and she was very thorough and gave me her opinion on different ways i could manage my childrens teeth and did not make me feel like i had to do it, Just reccommendations from her professional dentist eyes.. After going to Texas all smiles and league city pediatric dentistry I was relieved to find Z pediatric dentistry. Dr. Z and her staff are absolutely amazing, they are calm, have patience and are super friendly and are not forceful with the children. My son would absolutely freak out when we went to the dentist previously, but he never once has with Dr.Z. 10/10 recommend

Dr Z is so amazing with my two toddlers! My oldest daughter is always nervous around new people, but after just her first visit with Dr. Z she talks all the time about her dentist and asks about her when we brush her teeth! She loves her! Office is beautiful and staff is very friendly. We always have a great experience coming here. Highly recommend!

Dr. Z and her her staff were great. My boys are autistic and I was a bit apprehensive about their first time here but they did great and I think it was due to the staff being so supportive and kind to my boys. Dr. Z was efficient yet thorough and I really appreciated that as my boys have a short attention span. I recommend this office. 10/10.

I went to Dr. Z for a second opinion and she was such a genuine Dr. Friendly staff all around. You can absolutely tell that she has appreciates her patients and takes pride in her office. She loves what she does and each of her little patients. She made my baby girl comfortable during the visit! Would highly recommend!

My daughter had an abscess in her mouth and needed her tooth extracted. Her actual dentist couldn't get her in and our old dentist recommended Dr. Rasheed and let me just tell you how wonderful she and the rest of the staff is! Everything was phenomenal - even the paperwork was easy! We will be coming back here!

Have 5 children that come to see Dr Z. They love her. 1 of my sons needed some extraction. I was impressed how attentive the staff is as well as how great the pediatric dentist operates. She was so gentle that my 9 year old son had no idea she was doing the extraction. Staff is beyond nice and Dr Z is amazing.

Dr. Z doesn’t have the compassion and patience needed to handle nervous children. Then proceeds to shame them when they start to panic. She will come across as very kind at the beginning but the moment your child starts to panic, she doesn’t know how to handle the situation and becomes noticeably agitated.

Great staff, very clean facility, state of the art equipment, very knowledgeable about the services provided. The staff made ot fun for my son who dislikes any medical facility visit so this was a really positive experience overall. Definitely recommend for families especially with younger kids.

Usually the Dr is extremely nice and everyone is. My mom went in today and it seems like maybe the baby was being fuzzy but my mom did notice there was some frustration and I guess they could not handle it and tried to rush everything. This is the first time something like this happens.

My toddler’s first trip to the dentist was a breeze thanks to Dr. Z and her team! My girl wasn’t scared at all and actually had fun getting her teeth brushed/flossed and examined, Dr. Z made her so comfortable. So thankful to Z Pediatric Dentistry for taking care of my baby’s teeth!
