My recent visit to Zac's Restaurant over the weekend was an enjoyable experience, and I'd like to share my thoughts. This restaurant is known for serving some of the best Afghan cuisine in Western Sydney, and it certainly lived up to its reputation. We ordered both the non-veg and veg platters to get a taste of the variety the restaurant had to offer. The non-veg platter was a delightful surprise. The chapli kebab was a standout; it had an exceptional taste that left my taste buds craving for more. The skewers, chicken, afgani bread, and chips that accompanied the platter were all delicious and perfectly complemented the kebab. However, the biryani, which included mutton pieces, was not up to par. The mutton pieces were not as tasty as expected, which was a bit disappointing. On the other hand, the veg platter was a pleasant surprise. It featured a mix of momos, biryani, paneer, chips, and salad. The taste of the dishes was quite good, and it's clear that the chefs at Zac's know how to prepare a variety of Afghan and Indian-inspired dishes. The flavors were rich and satisfying. My only qualm during the visit was the pricing. While the quality of the food was commendable, I couldn't help but feel that the dishes were on the pricier side. Given the flavors and the portions, I expected the pricing to be a bit more reasonable. That being said, I would still recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a unique Afghan dining experience in Western Sydney. In summary, Zac's Restaurant offers some of the best Afghan cuisine in the area, with standout dishes like the chapli kebab and a variety of other tasty options. While the pricing may be a bit high, the overall experience and flavor of the food make it a worthwhile visit.

Visited this spot with colleagues on a rainy evening.. they were kind enough to ask us to be seated even if service was not up.. variety of Vegan/ vegetarian options for a kebab place.. we had the paneer kabobs .. came with fries, dips and pita bread.. everything was top notch.. Zac suggested us to try Amruth for drinks .. honestly hands down the best whiskey .. I love the peri peri sauce best .. we had veggie biryani .. very big portion.. two heavy eaters or 3 medium ones.. I have never eaten a tastier biryani for vegetarians.. the carrots are sweet.. with a hint of turmeric powder .. long grain rice which is not dry.. even the leftovers were so good as I polished it off for lunch.. don’t miss their baklava as well.. all in all totally going back here .. yeah it’s a little pricey but I guess a team lunch or the sorts for celebrating is good to indulge

I really appreciate how they go extra mile to cater your needs. They were kind enough to remove bread from my snack pack when i mentioned i’m celiac.

Small gestures go a long way. Something that has been taken off the menu, The owner went an extra mile to serve it for my son who was fasting and came specially for that meal !!! He was so happy and tells everyone of this special treatment!! Thankyou Zac

Amazing food, although rather pricey. Food was flavourful & delicious. The staff were friendly and the service was good, it was overall a nice dining experience. The only major issue I had was the pricing. The share plate that consisted of bread, chips, 4 fillets of saffron chicken & dips was $100. Whilst it was meant to be shared between four, it definitely didn't look to be enough for even two. Other dishes shared the same problem. Cocktail menu was $25-$32 per cocktail and beers were no less than $10 for a bottle (you could just buy a 24 pack for $55). Expected in Sydney, although that doesn't justify the pricing... Would definitely dine here again though, the quality of the food is JUST worth the price.

Nestled near residential area, it would be hard to spot unless you're familiar with the area. Was up for Middle Eastern cuisine and this was a random walk in. Presumably manager this evening was on the cusp of rude which they could improve on. Wide range of predominately Afghani food (menu attached). Images and actual dish definitely differed and portions were a LOT smaller. Ordered the octopus/falafel and mixed grill. Do recommend the mixed grill! They seem to be licensed but do serve non alcoholic drinks which were priced exorbitantly - some of which was more expensive than alcoholic cocktails... Despite a bit pricey for the portion, it would be a good pick to try if you haven't already. Not rushing to return though.

What can I say! DON’T GO. We have lived in the area close to 20yrs and have our Favorite restaurants. From time to time we like to try new places so we thought let’s give this one a go. Few things: 1. HIGHLY INFLATED PRICES. 2. Food was terrible. We had the kebab platter for 2 . It was cold, it had a terrible greasy taste and still feel this taste (and grease smell) a day after 3. What are they? They have Afghan , they have steaks, breakfast, Italian! Kitchen didn’t look clean, and I should have visited the bathroom first before I sat down as I would have left. Owners! We customers rely on restaurants like you to offer us a good quality meal at REASONABLE prices. We don’t might paying but give us well prepared quantity meals. I will never return.

Zac's restaurant is a culinary gem! Their biryani is hands down the best in town, bursting with flavors that leave your taste buds delighted. The kebabs are a true delight, perfectly grilled and packed with mouthwatering goodness. The service is quick, and the ambiance enhances the overall dining experience. What sets Zac's apart is not just the delicious food but also the generous serving size that truly makes it worth every penny. A must-visit for biryani enthusiasts!

My love for Afghan bread always leads me to Zac’s. Having tried breakfast, lunch and dinner, I have a couple of faves - breakfast Shakshuka and their mixed grill plates served with their fresh bread. At times, meals have taken a while to come out when busy, but all round has been worth the wait. Location is great although parking scarce. And Zac himself will mostly be around to smile and check in on you. Campos beans are used, but you have to try the Afghan coffee. And lastly, the top shelf selection is crazy good too.

Came here with my bf for dinner date. We really loved the service and the food was amazing and delicious. The way they presented their food and everything was just great. Recommend this place to people also do your bookings first as it's very full. As we never did but the staffs managed to get us a good location on our choice of sitting area. We enjoyed the night there. Surely coming back again to try other dishes. To the chef we loved it.

It was my first time here and this place is an absolute delight ! Went in there for lunch and was in for a treat. Ordered the mix kebab platter for four with biriyani. Though the order took some time to come but was worth the wait. The kebabs was cooked to perfection and is one the best I had so far. To accompany there was chicken biriyani, french fries, dips and salads which was so good as well. Finally for dessert had a sticky date pudding and it was presented so well and was again too good. The service was great and also to mention Zac the owner was so welcoming and took good care of us. Will be back for more soon !

Zac's great food is always great food. We went on a Sunday night and we were a group of 8. There is an enormous choice of food and drinks and there is a special vegetarian menu only. The food always comes quickly and the staff tried hard to make it a good experience. My only observation is the atmosphere was just lacking a little. The staff might have been a little inexperienced or the vibe was just a little lowkey on the night we went. I'm not entirely sure. That being said, we had a great time and if you are after delicious Afghani food, Zac's great food is the best.

The food at this place was amazing, we had the banquet which had a great variety of dishes and was great value for money. Portions were extremely generous. This place has some of the best Afgan food I have tried. We will definitely be returning to have this all again. The only down side, that prevented me from giving 5 stars was the timing of service, it took approximately 40 minutes to get the first dish. Speaking to the restaurant at the end of the evening they advised that they were 3 staff down that evening. It would've been nice to be informed earlier in the evening and maybe some snacks whist waiting.

Awesome venue that offers almost anything your heart desires. Open 7 days a week, they offer breakfast, lunch and dinner. From your everyday Aussie style dishes, vegan, vegetarian to Afghan cuisine. The venue has casual vibe with spacious indoor and outdoor seating. We tried variety of their dishes, from breakfast, lunch, Afghan dish and sweet treat. All are delicious and I especially love their Qabli Pilaf (Afghanistan’s national dish). It’s really good, unique and I highly recommend you to try it. The mixed grill plate is awesome too. As for coffee they serve Blackdrum. Great coffee!

  • sachini lok

Absolutely loved Zac’s food! The paneer biriyani was so flavourful and such a generous portion for 2. Could easily feed 3-4 people! I loved the ambience with the Arabic lamps settting and the general feel of the place. It’s great to get a booking, so definitely cal in advance of fri and sat.

I have visited Zac’s for both breakfast and dinner. Great place for both types of meals. Very unusual menu choices available for breakfast as well as the many common types of meals. Dinner was fantastic too. The owner, Zac, is often there in the afternoons and he will often drop by your table to have a chat and check whether you are happy with what you have ordered. Great place to celebrate birthdays and other special occasions. Reasonable parking available and reasonably priced food as well. Definitely worth a visit.

Service was exceptional and food was great with amazing ambience! Just recommend some changes to the seating arrangements for 2 people. We were shoved to a corner and weren't able to face each other which impacted the dine-in experience I recommend to try chicken biryani (even though the quantity is for more than 2 people) and any type of grill kebabs (they are the best)

Customer service is good and the ambience is really nice. Say hi to Zac while you are there. He loves to have a chat. I don’t think any review can do proper justice for the amazing food they serve. You have to visit and experience it yourselves. A must visit with family. We will be back!

Good food served in a nice ambience with the best service. Being our first taste of afghani cuisine we ordered the banquet, a nice selection of their favorites. The entrees filled up some of our guests - a note for all readers to keep space for the scrumptious mains that includes the Afghan national dish (a rice pilaf), and a pannacotta dessert. Flavors were balanced and portions were good. We wish there was more of the kebabs in the entree.

The place is in a good area, the view was so nice, the people are so nice. But the problem was the food. I think the food was made one week ago and the chef put it in the oven when the customer comes it's not good at all. I will never recommend it to anyone. The price was so high compared with the food quality. Two stars for the stuff not the chief.

Went out with friends for dinner. Ordered their signature platter ,goat Biriyani and mocktails. Platter was average and their fries were good and don't expect Hyderabad or any Indian style, it was bit different and was not bad. Mocktails were good. The food didn't justify the price. The ambiance and location was good.

The food was excellent. The quality of chicken, lamb and goat were really good. They served the best goat Nihari I’ve had in a long long time. The starter platters were full of flavour with the right balance of spicy/sweet-sour tastes. Will definitely come back again for the Biriyani!
