"Cool place"
"Huge zoo, very clean and well maintained"
"Going to the zoo with young kids is such a great experience! I love that there are such a variety of animals for my kids to see and experience"
"We went for the lights last night and it was beautiful! The pandas were out and Jackson by the plush stand in the pandas area was fantastic in giving us information about the zoo, the animals, shared pictures with us and we're definitely coming back in the spring during the day! The staff was amazing"
"Came here with my family for the Illuminights Chinese lantern festival for the first time and had a wonderful time! It wasn't crowded at all and I enjoyed the numerous refreshments around the zoo"
Cool place. We went mostly because of the pandas (who were adorable) but seen lots of other amazing animals. We really liked all the bamboo. There are multiple places to get food from which is also great. Lots of merch to choose from. We read lots of interesting information about the animals, including some that were really educational. We found that some animals have rather small places for themselves (like the bald eagle, but the “big cats” could benefit from more space as well). Many tablets in the reptile house didn’t work so we had no idea what animal we were looking at (or what we should’ve found as many of them disguised themselves too well). I think it would also be practical to add signs with numbers to the various areas of the too to make orientation easier. It’s too easy to miss certain zones unless someone consults the map all the time. Overall we had a great time and it seemed like the animals are well cared for.

Huge zoo, very clean and well maintained. Lots of sections separating different types and regions of animals and species. Most animals were active and playful when we visited. Plenty of restrooms in every corner of the zoo. There’s a wonderful children section in the zoo. There’s petting animal, carousels, train ride, playground and tree climbing. Carousel and train require separate ticket, $3 per person. It takes about 2-3 hours to fully explore the zoo. There’s a cafe and bunch of small vendors around the zoo. The gift shop is pretty nice, got lots of zoo specific merchandise.

Going to the zoo with young kids is such a great experience! I love that there are such a variety of animals for my kids to see and experience. If you have a stroller or wagon, make sure that you’re prepared to push/pull them up some hills but it is not too bad. The kids area is so much fun as well. There are some paid activities but my kids love the free petting zoo and then spending time in the playground to get the rest of their energy out. We pack our own lunches to save some money and spend the day!

Came here with my family for the Illuminights Chinese lantern festival for the first time and had a wonderful time! It wasn't crowded at all and I enjoyed the numerous refreshments around the zoo. The lanterns were breathtaking and I was surprised at how many there were. I would definitely recommend going to the festival whether it's solo, with family, or on a date. You will not regret it!

Great zoo with different species. Most of them were inside due to weather drop, they are setting up the zoo for Xmas lights, also they are arranging stuff to view animals in a closed setup with temperature controlled rooms. We had a good experience, The weekend is recommended for the crowd, if you want to see the animals in peace choose the weekday.

The Zoo looks great. The lanterns can be enjoyed during the day, too. It was a colder day, so some animals didn't seem as active as normal, but the lions were incredibly active. We never could spot any orangutans. Only 1 restaurant is open. It was swamped with a really long wait for food, which meant rushing to try to see as much as we could toward the end of the day.

The Winter night experience here is on a whole other level. The zoo put in the hardwork to make sure every animal was well represented with the lights and amazing decorations. The kids loved it! 100percent recommend. Dress for the cold and pack some snacks cos there will be a lot of walking involved. Note - All live animals are asleep and covered up during night visits/tours.

Great zoo experience for kids and adults. A few species of animal we hadn't seen in other zoos. If you're fortunate enough to visit Thanksgiving through Christmas, I highly recommend the evening light presentations. We went both during the day to see the animals and returned at night for the lights, which were just spectacular!

This is a great zoo. Not overly large which makes it better for families with little kids still finding their legs. Most of the area's were shaded well to keep from getting too hot. The exhibits looked well Maintained and the animals seemed healthy and taken care of. Food options were just OK. Go early to find close parking.

Good size zoo. I was satisfied with the amount of animals I saw. Cost of admission depends on when you go. The admission prices are slightly higher on the weekends than like say Mon- Thurs. Other than that it was reasonable for me. We just took an Uber to the zoo vs driving. We spent several hours there.

A medium sized zoo. $33 is too much for this size. Especially considering the Chicago Zoo is free. A maximum entrance fee of 10 dollars is acceptable. It's not a must-visit spot in Atlanta. If you have limited budget and time, I definitely recommend you to go to the aquarium.

Awesome! During cold months many of the animals do not engage some we didn't see at all because they were trying to stay warm. Go during the spring, summer, or maybe fall. Definitely skip the winter visit as many of the animals are indigenous to warmer temperatures than 30-50 degrees in Georgia winters.

It's not as big as I expected.. but is very nice, great hand made decor around making the walk extra enjoyable. Pandas were the reason we planed a part of our trip this way. Bucket list! The twins are planning on returning to China Spring 2024, with parents following that Fall. Other exhibits in great shape, it was cold so many were inside which weren't able to be observed by the public.
Really nice zoo and good for kids. We went in winter on a cold day so not all the animals were in their normal habitat exhibits but we're instead in their houses. Still really cool though. Saw a few animals I've never seen before. Definitely go before the pandas leave at the end of '24!

Visited Atlanta zoo with my sister's family. My 2 year old son and nieces had the best experience viewing animals from so close. Personally I saw Komodo dragon and Panda for the first time ever! Highly recommended for for kids ages between 2-10.

One of our best zoo experiences, most animals were interacting and interesting. The facilities were well kept and the panda’s stole the show… definitely a must visit. The size of the zoo is just right…

Unfortunately, many animals were in their winter quarters. That made the ticket a little bit expensive in my opinion. Still an amazing experience. Seeing pandas and other animals. The zoo area itself is also beautiful.

Really enjoyed our time here. Glad we got to see the Giant Pandas before they leave in the spring. The zoo has lots of shade which makes it enjoyable without being too hot. There is some projects being worked on right now so be prepared for some construction fencing. More
Had a great time. Not all of the animals were out but not the zoos fault. Was a little disappointed that the rides weren't included in the admission price...as it's not cheap to get in. At least the train would have been nice. Overall, the kids had a good time! More
Visited Atlanta Zoo in Jan 2024 with family. Great experience! Loved the panda exhibit and vibrant bird paradise. Some animals weren't available, and many eateries were closed. Extra fees for certain attractions were a bit of a letdown. Overall, a fun day out! More
This zoo is depressing. The enclosures are too small and the only thing worth going for is to see the pandas and they’re losing them soon. Their lantern animals were nice though. Overall I felt that going to this zoo was a waste of my time and money. More
We had a great time here, this was one of the things included in our city pass. A lot of the animals weren’t out the day we went but we were still able to see some! And I will say we were kinda disappointed because there was only one of the
Zoo Atlanta is a decent-sized zoo with a great variety of animals on exhibit. They are conservation- and education-focused, and the staff are very knowledgeable if you have questions. The animals have plenty of enrichment to keep them busy.
We had a great time at the Zoo Atlanta for their IllumiNights attraction. The lights were beautiful and colorful. There were a few animals that we could see although must of them were inside for the cold months. Our family had a great time
A wonderful experience! My wife and I have been to a few different zoos, and this has by far been a favorite! All of the enclosures provided amazing views of all the wildlife. Buying the tickets ahead of time made the whole process simple
If you're an animal lover, this is an absolute paradise! They've created a beautifully maintained haven, perfectly suited to cater to the interests of every type of animal. The level of detailed information provided about each species is
This is an awesome zoo! For being in the middle of the city, it felt like it was pretty secluded. Parking was easy with the Park Mobile app. We didn’t have lines to get in, and had bought our tickets online so that process was a breeze.
This zoo is what any zoo should be! Not too big (perfect sized actually). Not trying to keep as many species just for the sake of being attractive. Zoo personal very helpful and friendly. Animal helper(?) knowledgeable, willing to give
