Les explicacions són molt educatives i hi ha programes de conservació d'espècies en perill d'extinció. D'altra banda hi ha animals molt variats, i alguns poc coneguts, com l'ós panda vermell o el formiguer gegant. Alguns animals grans, però, tenen molt poc espai per moure's i trobo que això hauria de millorar, en especial els felins (a excepció dels lleons), els óssos bruns i els goril·les haurien de comptar amb unes instal·lacions molt diferents per poder parlar de condicions dignes. També he de dir que han empitjorat la zona de parc infantil, que abans era molt més complerta i comptava amb cabanyes i tobogans. Tot i així, em sembla que un bon zoològic és un espai educatiu necessari i interessant per als nens i la ciutadania en general, i compta a més a més amb un restaurant que està prou bé.

This is the most amazing and beautiful zoo that I have ever been to. The last time I went to the zoo in Portland, Oregon - I left so depressed that I didn’t think I could ever go to a zoo again. Fast forward 14 years and here I am in Barcelona. My 15 year old and I had so much fun! There are so many animals to see. The bird selection is amazing. The bug exhibit was a big highlight for me. It was so well done! The park is super clean, and I am not talking about just the people areas. The animal exhibits are so well kept, you can see that they are well taken care of and have plenty of space. We really loved seeing the peacocks roaming freely around the park, the first one that we saw made is panic that maybe it had escaped! We made sure to see every exhibit and it was a true joy to visit this place. Highly recommend!

Lovely zoo. We wasn't able to see any of the large cats as they were inside due to it being to hot. Indoor viewing of these areas would make the zoo so much better. We needed the whole day to explore with two young boys and escaped from the sun in the main restaurant (only one open during the week - all food courts are open at weekends). We went on the trip with Jet2 so cost more, but was definitely worth a visit if you expect children. Buy drinks before you go in as when your in there they charge double the price. Lovely selection of animals and overall cleanliness of the park is good. Gift shop is extortionate and they make you walk through to exit.

We visited Barcelona Zoo on a Sunday and it was a fantastic experience. The minimal wait time for tickets made it convenient to enter. It's an ideal destination for families with kids of all ages. The variety of food options was impressive, and the availability of numerous clean and well-maintained restrooms, including one with a changing station for small children, was a thoughtful touch. Barcelona Zoo is a must-visit for a family-friendly day out. Barcelona Zoo is indeed an excellent spot for a picnic. The park is well-maintained and the animals are truly fascinating. It's a wonderful place to enjoy nature and wildlife while having a relaxing outdoor meal.

Great experience! It's a must-visit place! We spent 3 hours there and enjoyed it very much! It's a very nice zoo, with lots of animals. We also liked the souvenir shop and got lots of souvenirs. Clean bathrooms and lots of venting machines for water and refreshments! Must definitely wear sunscreen and a hat and take breaks to rest under the trees! We wen there on a Saturday (June 25), the line was not long but it's not a bad idea to purchase the tickets online beforehand, to ensure you will not have to wait...the line behind us got pretty long! I highly recommend visiting the zoo!

Visited the zoo in December 2023 for the second time, not too busy, kids enjoyed all the animals. The most interesting part was to discover the parrot which was talking. With 5 kids we stayed about 5 hours in the Zoo. There are 2 playgrounds as well where children also explored. The food in the restaurant was delicious. We took 5 kid's menus which were big enough to satisfy hungry tummies of children aged 5->11. There few animals missing this time, in comparison with December 2021 when we visited this site for the first time.

A great mid-sized zoo in the centre of Barcelona's Citadel Park. The variety of animals is fantastic, and a lot of care has gone into the way the exhibits are presented and explained. We were easily able to spend 3+ hours wandering around. I understand that the zoo targets 100% ethical operation - however some of the enclosures seemed too small, especially for the Silverback gorillas. Some sections of the park were also closed (for maintenance?), so it's probably worth checking ahead if you want to see everything.

Quite a large area to explore. The animals seemed to be in good shape. We went during midday onwards so most animals were pretty passive. Definitely check the penguins out if you can catch them while they are fed. The bird house was really interesting as well. Bigger animals include giraffes, elephants and lions! The seals were the most active, swimming around and one of them being very vocal!

Fun place to visit, I would recommend planning 3+ hours to visit the whole place. Plenty of spaces inside the zoo and it had bicycles inside for you to use. I liked the insect museum. Great for families too. Food outside: there is a very nice tapas place nearby that's called Perikete which is just 15 minutes walk away which I highly recommend, (stools type of seating).

Visited the Park in early November 2023. Many of the cages were empty, being rebuilt or closed for other reasons. I am not a vet or a biologist, but many of the animals did not seem happy. very confined space for bears, gorillas and chimps. Guess the bears posture says it all. Giraffes were being fed by visitors with all kinds of stuff. Not really ideal.

Nice but not spectacular. Positive is that it’s not overcrowded. Negative is the fact that many areas are closed and/or under construction. It’s a pity that none of the restaurants were open and the person at the souvenir shop gave the impression to be very bored, looking the whole time in her mobile phone instead of interacting with the customer.

This was pretty enjoyable. The insect exhibition was great. They had a dung beetle rolling dung from the warthog, needless to say that my little one loved this. He was also fascinated by the Vultures, which were very interesting. The cafeteria had a surprisingly good food and was not too expensive considering it was inside a tourist attraction

We went with grandchildren 8,12 & 14 they were all interested for the 4 hours we were there incl. a short stop for lunch which was priced as expected for an attraction. Perhaps take a picnic and water bottle, plenty of picnic benches and taps. Print off zoo map before going. If you have seniors and children aged up to 12 buy tickets on the gate. I hope the gorillas and other animals have larger enclosures soon.

Quite a large zoo with a sizeable collection of animals. Some enclosures seemed slightly cramped though :( no additional experiences aside from animal watching (no feeding, shows etc). Takes around 2h to walk around everything. Study the map, cause the place is not laid out intuitively :)

We went at the end of October and a lot of exhibits were closed. That was disappointing. But it was clean and really large. You can see the animals up close. I would say if you have the opportunity in the summer you should make arrangements to see it.

Massive zoo plenty animals here still some closures shut for renovations..but plenty information about everywhere...my teenage kids loved it...goodday out away from theme parks n chill..worth the money and bus trip..food here was lovely

We couldn't see a few animals especially early in the morning, that's why I'm giving it 4 stars. The senior tickets are exclusively sold at the entrance, for adults you can buy tickets online but you need to validate them in the entrance too. I recommend giving it half a day to see everything, and take pictures, especially if you have kids.

Some of the animals they weren’t in the zoo , such as tiger , reptiles and sea lion . The places were closed for safety reasons but you couldn’t enjoy the full view to the most of the animals . I notice all of them looking tired and unhappy as well . Nice experience because you see something different but it needs to be more organised .

Great place, super big and lots of animals. There are maby activities for kids and definitely no chance to get bored. Super nice and clean. Definitely recommend if you want to see big animals such as elephants or giraffes.

Some enclosures are small compared to other zoos in Europe. But overall it's a decent zoo, especially otters' section was really nice. Also, I have detected a common cat sneaks around to steal some food and cuddles.

A must see for all ages - this is one of the nicest zoos I have visited. The layout is easy to navigate, the enclosures are easy to view and match many of the natural habitats. Seeing the staff interact with the animals shows they are treated very well here. Also, being located in the park makes it easy to access. Més

It's very nice, we had fun. We went in December, probably in spring/summer is crowded. The restaurant was opened, but they had a few options to eat, probably because there were fewer visitors in the winter.
