"Going to the zoo is itself a 5 star experience"
"Zoo needs more care and attention! Maybe more investment "
"Nice park, exhibits, three section the bus tour, mammals and aviary/reptiles"
"Very nice"

Going to the zoo is itself a 5 star experience. However, today my wife and I didnt even get in! This was the first time we had been in many years. We had always used public transport to get there and I would advise this 100%! We were sent to a car park off site, the price to park being R $40, this is R $10 more expensive than an adult ticket and most car parks in Sao Paulo itself. After parking, and then standing in a queue in a dark underground carpark waiting to pay at 1 poor kiosk in which the queue barely moved in 20 minutes and in which we saw quite a few empty shuttle buses to depart we gave up. Again the zoo itself is wonderful if you can get in, however this experience has left a rather bitter taste in my mouth, the extortionate car parking fee being very high up there. Considering the zoo is outside the centre of the city and even going to some attractions right in the centre car parks general cost R $15 or Ibirapuera Park that cost a couple of real an hour. The bad organisation just left hundreds of people waiting and lots of empty shuttle buses.
Zoo needs more care and attention! Maybe more investment ... We had a very pleasant walk on a sunny Thursday. Great to enjoy with children and family. Unique to this pandemic is that some places are closed, such as the rooms for reptiles and amphibians, among other attractions. Dinos area is worth it with small child. Enough option to have fun. We arrived at noon and stayed until 4pm and we could see everything. It is recommended to arrive early to enjoy it calmly and to return in some animals because they are not always awake or visible!!!!!!
Nice park, exhibits, three section the bus tour, mammals and aviary/reptiles. The parking is not free, across the entrance. The 30 minuet bus tour tour was limited, supposed to get an additional 400 animals when it reopens in late March 2023. Lots of walking, bring water and snacks, most exhibits are outdoors. Start early otherwise you will not get to all the exhibits especially if you have young kids.

Very nice. I recommend to go during the week to avoid queues (what we actually didn't do). It's a very large ZOO, so arrive early. Not happy with accessibility for buggy/pram from the car park - which is also expensive - too rough and too many potholes. The Zoo Itself could also have better paths for families with small kids using buggy. The white tiger is really rare and really liked seeing it for the first time. The dinosaurs park, was really good and I have enjoyed it as much as my kids.
Yes...good atmosphere...but charges are not reasonable.. charging R$40 for adults...too much..and zoo Safari is also available..but it is not so adventures...still the animals have kept inside the fence..I don't know why the and are sleeping...can feed snacks to deer....zoo Safari charges also not reasonable...had purified drinking water everywhere at free of cost.also the toilet facility... reserve atleast 3 hrs in your day for complete through of this zoo
We had an amazing afternoon at the São Paulo Zoo. It was very recommended by local friends, and it didn't disappoint! The highlights of our visit were the local fauna, like our big (and small) cats, tapir, anteaters, and a surprise for my Minecraft aficionado kids - the Xochimilco attraction, presenting lots of Axolotls! If you have a free afternoon in SP, put that on your list!

Hands down the best zoo that I’ve been to in Brazil. They have lots of animals and is pretty easy to navigate. The ticket is a little pricey but definitely worth ever penny. Loved every second of my visit. Also, they have an ant colony there with a guide who tells you everything about how the ants live. I’ve been to MAAAAAANY zoos and this was by far one of the coolest things I’ve seen exhibited.

Excellent zoo overall. I think the zoo safari was a little overrated but it was good. It was really cool to watch the zookeepers relate to the animals because it seemed like they really cared about them. Also got to see a bunch of howler monkeys yell at each other for a while. The only reason I give it a 4 star instead of five is that a few of the pens seem a bit cramped, especially the rhino and elephant.. Other than that it was amazing!
Although the Zoo as clean and organized... I think this is my second visito and everything was exactly the same as before (like almost 2 year ago); Dinosours exhibition (my son's main objective here) was identical no changes at all, the animatronics doesn't move as before (maybe lack on maintenance, don't know). Sadly animals didnt look happy :( places were clean and I saw people feeding them... but they didnt seems happy to me
This was a very disappointing zoo. I went on a weekday so it was nice and quiet. Overall the place just lacks polish and looks very old. The exhibits look dated and some of the animal habitats looked very small and inadequate. This zoo needs a big investment to bring it up to the level of other such parks in large cities. May be worth seeing if you're in the neighborhood, otherwise, don't go out of your way to see this one.
It's a marvelous place to spend the day. A good place for young kids and family in general. There's tap water for free. Also you'll find places to rest along the way, because it's a very big place. Dinosaur park require another ticket to enter. For me, I would skip. Nothing new that I haven't seen before. But kids will certainly love it.

Huge zoo, it is one of the biggest. The section of snakes and small animals were amazing. Not 5 stars because: parking service expensive and poor. Inexistence of alternatives to parking. Maybe the zoo could invest more in a section for cubs, areas were you could feed the animals. Some animals were difficult to see, they were hiding in the cages, maybe a better position for the shelters could help with this.
Good place to go for a walk and enjoy with F&F, if you have enough time, you can go to botanic park and Jurassic world. I set 4 stars due to waiting time in zoo gates and also for can not purchase entrances in advance due to CPF requirement in website, is pretty weird if you are foreigner and do not have a CPF

Very interesting place, nice zoo with quite wide variety of animals, especially monkey lake is worth of it to see this with one exception wouldn't recommend to take safari ride what from real safari has only the name of it, but otherwise if you speak Portuguese then also this activity will be interesting because all animals in the zoo have names and driver stories might be actual for children.
It is amazing to see how much it has improved since my last time there (+ ten years). The animals seem way less stressed, apart from main attractions like the spectacled bear. Post no one is there early in the morning (possibly due to covid and schools not being back yet) and the animals are pretty relaxed, which allows for some amazing photos. I'll definitely go back there in the near future.
The largest zoo park in Latin America. I've had the opportunity of knowing the staff only structure of the park, and I can say the animals are very well treated and cared by an excellent team of professionals. Really amazing structure with animals from all around the world and clever exhibitions. It worths time and money! Don't forget to check the Brazilian maned wolf, amazing creature.
A good place to visit... not too far from the down town if you go by car and for those who prefers the public transit, on the Jabaquara subway station there is a bus station where you can find buses straight to the Zoo, actually, the bus goes straight from the bus station to the Zoo with no stop along the way! The time spend is about 15 minutes to reach the Zoo from the bus station...
Amazing place, very easy to walk and find the animals, (too bad that the lions and the bear were sleeping). Note, to eat in the restaurant from the Zoo is expensive and full. I think cheapest and funny prepare some sandwiches, juices, carry on fruits and do a picnic.

A moderate sized zoo, the Sao Paulo Zoo utilizes its space well and does a good job displaying its impressive number of birds. It is in need of some modernizing however, as some of the exhibits are poorly designed and make viewing the animals difficult. The large mammal exhibits in particular could do with a bit of an upgrade, but still a very nice zoo.
There were several enclosures. I was most impressed with one of the care takers and the large tortoises. He was so good with the them and it was awesome watching one of the tortoises interact and follow his directions. You can tell he really cares for them.

The contact with the nature is really important, specially learn to respect it. Through a zoo, infants start learning about it. Although the place is great, I think the Mayor should invest more and give special places for brazilian animals for the world can go to the Zoo and have a better experience learning about Brazilian nature and culture
I am not a big fan of zoos but I found this one to be the worst I have ever seen. The animals are not well cared for and their enclosures are not sufficient for the sizes of the animals. Water troughs were not clean. Overall a very disappointing experience.

Great place to spend half a day. It is true that it has been much better in the past, but it is still a great option for children to know animals and spend a day in the park. There are not many option of food there, only some simple restaurants I have nor yet tried. For adults as well it is quite interesting. The park is really beautiful.
That's is a lovely place to visit with kids. An all day event, where you can learn a lot of things about animals. They have a good food places, and the streets are easy for strollers. If you are visiting Sao Paulo with kids, you should go there.

I just went only to the safari park, but it was really a fun. You can enjoy one hour tour in your own car (or Zoologico's micro bus ). Don't forget to buy food bought on the street just before the entrance ( I thought that we could also buy it inside, but I couldn't find). Feeding seemed to give you much more fun there !
I'm not a fan of zoos but I have to admit that the Zoológico de São Paulo is well organized and animals seem to be in good shape and have enough space (except for birds like Condors - but I'm not a vet). Dinosaurs' area is definitely a place where to bring children. A pleasant place were to spend a day with children.
A different experience... Fun for the whole family! A nice adventure Safari with your own car. Clean and organized with variety of animals to see..you can personally feed all the friendly animals from inside your vehicle..just lower your car window and the animals will slowly approach you so you can feed them.
Pricy for a mediocre experience, Very crowded, long lines to buy tickets as online option was not available. Long waiting for parking and entrance, no good restaurants options inside, lots of animals are available for instance no lions, park not well maintained, attendance was very polite. I was disappointed.
The zoo has a great infrastructure os restrooms, restaurants and picknic places. Is clean and organized. There is a big parking lot near the entrance, and it's near to subway station. It's a place to know "wild" animals in a short distance. I feel that those animals don't show the real image of a wild nature.
It's a really great place to spend the day with the family, bringing new experiences for the kids and enjoying the place along with them, despite of the reptiles and little bugs place being closed, you can have fun with the other sections of the zoo, overall it's a really good place to spend the time with ^v^
It's a great place but I had to take off two stars for the giraffe lanchonete charging R$8 for a bottle of water How sad and how greedy. It should be illegal to sell water at such a high markup. Takes away from the experience. The tickets for the zoo are already expensive and the car park too. Oh dear. …
Great place for the whole family, this Zoo is huge and there's a lot to see so make sure you arrive early to have plenty of time to check things out. Depending of the time of the year gets extremely hot and the animals will hide to find shade. Make sure to bring hats, sunscreen and plenty of water.
Good zoo overall. A little lacking with the size and quality of some of the enclosure and happiness of the animals. Also not clear signage or directions how to best navigate the area as a whole. Overall for Brazil I think it is a decent effort and a good experience for the kids.
It's a nice space to have a stroll, the animals seem happy and it's nice and green. I didn't give it 5 starts because compared to some European zoos I've visited, the infrastructure can use an update. What I missed and found back in all other zoos is a playground for the kids.
Very big and beautiful nature but a limited number of animals, some of them are old and were sleeping all the time, we went for safari but it was frustrating because we expected to see animals near us but they were in there cages and we were able to pass on feet instead
Awesome huge place but it needs more attractions, maps around and more guidance! Safari is no need to do when you can walk is even more attractive to enjoy. We pay 17 reais more to see the dinosaurs which was ok for the kids but for me too expensive for just seeing it!
My family and I visited the zoo on Sunday. We had a fantistic time. The area is very large and would recommend strollers for small children. The animals appeared very healthy and most of the pens and aquariums had animals. Looking forward to our next visit. …
Around the Zoo is a messy. The zoo is ok, but my favorite has been deactivated, so, you are not going to find penguins and polar bear. It's a good place for children.

For São Paulo being a big a city as it is, I guess I expected more. There weren’t too many animals, water exhibits were dirty, glass was all filthy. And it was a maze! I would’ve wanted a map but they were 5R a piece. Loved seeing all the parrots.
A beautiful zoo and beautiful park, full of trees and surrounded with a rainforest A must place when visiting sao paulo. Also very recommended with children

The zoo is very nice with a great variety of animals. However, the lack of organization at the entrance make it very stressful to get in. It took us 1h15 to get in, with about 25 people in front of us. I dont even know how that was possible.
Popular with families. Interesting to see Brazilian fauna up close. The howling monkeys are, well, a howl. They were in voice evening time we I visited. I thought was close to a competitive football game 'til I got to the source of noise!
Big and beautifull. Its kind clean, they got a dinossaur section (additional fee). The food court is not Big, it may get crowded. You find ice cream and bevereages vending machines around the zoo. Worth visiting specially with family
The Zoo Sao Paulo was nice for a warm day's outing with the kids. They have a good variety of animals and some very spacious animal enclosures. The ticket price was reasonable and the online ticket purchase was easy. The parking was
A wide spread area with a large collection of animals to see and admire. A fun place where kids too can enjoy themselves. There's a animated movie screening for the kids and also an option of safari is available for everyone.
Great variety of animals and they seem to be taken care often. However, due to the food available, the habitat of savage animals are drastically changed. It's beautiful, but at the same time sad to see them being deprived.
Very nice green area. Most of the animal cages looks small and old. Has a few option for food (crowded and not comfortable). Several ice cream stands along the park. Not a must visit, but nice place to go with small kids!
Great Zoo, one of the most important of Latin America, it's huge so you have to be prepared to walk, but it also offer a zoo tour with a small group car, I just need to improve the visual information for the turists.
It's a big and beautiful zoo and you'll have an even better and fun time if you go with your family and friends since there are lots of food places to eat, so you can just grab food and walk along with your group.
The best zoo I've visited so far. The animals are obviously well cared for and much more active than others I've seen. The variety of animals is great, and the zoo grounds itself are enormous and beautiful.
It's not very well-designed, as you have to go back through roads to get to other animals. However, it's a fair zoo. It's ok. Food is reasonably priced. The highlights are the hippos, giraffes and seals :)
Lovely place and very polite staff. 4 stars because they open early at 9am but you will miss some animals because they are cleaning the enclosure. If they need to clean just open later. Recommended!!!
Very poor zoo! The cages are very small. I would not support the park again by paying entrance for this. There is a dinosaurs area, but you have to pay extra for this. Parking service is horrible...
If you're looking for a nice afternoon experience, or a children's activity... Or if you plainly think zoos rock, then by all means it's a mandatory visit. The safari is interesting too.
Medium size, 4 or 5 hours at most to visit all the park, not including the Dino zone and Safari Park. Very funny the bird zone, the parrots seems like the muppets when they are singing
Nothing much for a zoo. I expected much better variety and environment not very well maintained. The animals seemed a bit bored and not too energized. Snack shops were also minimal.
Nice place for walking around me seeing all the animals. Nice green area. É enjoyed it a lot!

A very clean place and animals are well cared. Stuff is very kind. There should be more information about animals in each place also, a detailed description in English too. More
Love the zoo well kept clean . Good display .ammonium with landscape . Fantastic learning experience for adult and children .highly recommended be prepared for all day excursion
Beautiful park with an emphasis on trying to keep it as natural as possible. Easy access with a bus ride from Metro Jabaquara. Clean toilets and plenty of places to drink.
A good diversity of animals - some enclosures do seem a little small but the price R$50 was not too high. Indoor things like the reptile house are closed for covid
Good alternative to go with kids. All in all any zoo is a sad place, filled with sad animals that would be happy in anywhere but there.
Great experience. Super crowded so come as early as possible. The route up to the entrance is always crazy bad due to traffic.

A great place for a couples our family outing. Not the greatest selection of animals but a nice place for a walk.
Awesome place to visit at São Paulo. Good place to send half a day. Strongly recommend to also take the Safari
Amazing number of animals seen no where else. Sadly, the elephant enclosure is woefully inadequate.
There’s a lot more to do in Sao Paulo, the zoo isn’t worth your while.
