I highly recommend this salon. Foreigner friendly and the staff go out of their way to help you. I came with a friend on Monday in the afternoon without a reservation. Honey wasn’t in that day but we were able to communicate with the staff just fine using translator apps. The Air Osaka team were very hospitable. The receptionist (I think it was Makoto-San? Sorry I didn’t catch your name ;-;) was patient with us as we were deciding on hair styles. Tip: come prepared with pictures of the cut and style you’re looking for. They have a gallery on their website you can scroll through for examples. The prices were very reasonable compared to other salons in the area. I don’t remember the exact total but I got a haircut and wash which came out to about 7,400 yen (roughly $46 usd). My friend got a single process color and hair cut which was about 15,000 yen (roughly $100 usd). Price may change depending on services selected. At check-in they will ask you which stylist you want, services (haircut, wash, dye), and how you learned about them. Afterwards they’ll show you to your seat. If you get a hair wash, they’ll show you a list of shampoo options in english. Mayo-San helped me with my haircut and Erina-San did my friends hair coloring. Both did a great job! They went above and beyond to make sure they were interpreting what we wanted correctly. We also got to speak to the owner Takahiro-san who was very welcoming. Overall, a great experience and I’d come here again the next time I’m in Osaka!

I went to this salon because of the good reviews and because it was a good place for foreigners. All the staff were super welcoming when I arrived with my son. They let him sit next to me and offered him something to drink. My stylist was Osamu Ymauchi, and thanks to Honey Taan Zen, another member of staff who spoke really good English, he understood what type of haircut I wanted. Honey Taan Zen also washed my hair and gave me a super massage on my head and shoulders, plus we had a nice conversation. My type of hair is very thin and not too much, so I wanted a bob with not too many layers but with some movement. Osamu Ymauchi did a super good job; he cut my hair without any photos for references, just following my explanations and understanding my hair type. He is very professional, and his hands are very gentle, so I really enjoyed how relaxing the experience was. I am super happy with my new haircut, and more importantly, I can style it without problem now that I am back home. If you visit Osaka and want to come back home with a new hairstyle, don't hesitate to visit Air.

I was in Osaka for a few days on vacation and was interested in getting a haircut — I was overdue for one and thought it would be a fun souvenir. I was able to easily make a reservation at Air via Google and was even able to choose from their menu of options. Easy to navigate as someone who does not speak/read Japanese! The service was extraordinary. I went in for a simple cut and treatment session and had at least five different people working on me throughout the 1.5 hour session. The salon is surprisingly large, modern, and very clean. The salon equipment is as very high tech and efficient. The massages were wonderful, the products were very nice, and the cut was professionally done by Riko. Riko started with a consultation with me to get a sense of what I wanted and delivered beautiful results even when I couldn’t speak Japanese. (Bringing a photo of what you want helps! I chose one from their website where they have a portfolio of hairstyles and lengths.) Thank you so much to Riko and the Air team!

This is an excellent salon for tourists! I wasn’t sure what to expect since I do not speak any Japanese and have never been to a salon outside of the US before, but I really needed a haircut and had the most wonderful experience here. The salon itself is a beautiful space, and the staff is so lovely and helpful. Yumi gave me a fabulous haircut; I showed her some styles I liked from their website and she worked with my frizzy old hair and made it gorgeous. All at an amazing value compared to US salons. And the special chairs that lift up when you get your hair washed are life-changing—no more sore neck!! This is a beautiful salon with welcoming staff. If you are hesitant to get your hair cut as a tourist, you should definitely go for it! Be sure to use one of the coupons for a special package on their website. Came here for a blow out without a prior appointment, Honey at the reception spoke English so she smoothened out my arrival. Here you get to choose your stylist as well as the brand of shampoo/treatment you’d like them to use. I was made comfy the minute I lied down (yes, lied!) to get my hair washed (thanks Yuta!), then I got a scalp massage as well as a shoulder/upper back one. My stylist was Riko and she was such a pro. I have colored hair and she took the time to get exactly the results I asked for with such great care. As I sat down I also saw the boss Endo in action coloring the hair of a couple other customers, and the result was beautiful. Thanks to the entire for being a cool experience.

Opted for a haircut randomly on our last day in Osaka since we have time to spare. My hairdresser, Mayo, is excellent and since we both seem to be quite shy, the interactions between us are awkwardly funny The service starts with a hairwash first before the haircut. It has been some time since I went to a salon, so I was very amazed by the recliner chair for hairwash and the light hair and upper body massage by Mayo. Mayo is very attentive to my requests and always looks out for my comfort. It was so relaxing I even accidentally slept halfway and shifted my head for a bit but we both laughed it off. The haircut was great and I am satisfied! It costs me about SGD64.30/JPY7,150.

I needed a haircut since my hair was getting too long for me. It was my first time visiting this salon, and it exceeded my expectations as well as my friends who came too. I got a haircut and my friends got the head spa treatment. This place is also foreigner-friendly, so if you speak limited Japanese, you will be completely fine here. There are some staff members who speak fluent English. The owner was my hairstylist and spoke English pretty well, but double checked with a fluent speaking staff member to make sure they understood my wants & needs for the hair appointment. Visiting Osaka and wanted some me time. Came across this salon in an article for foreigner friendly salon. My appointment was easy to book thanks to Google and Translate. Large salon even had a family room if I wanted to bring my kids with me, unsure if there would be an extra charge. I received a simple trim, color and hair treatment from mainly Erina with their special ionic tool. Various staff helped at different points of the service. I’m sure I could had found a cheaper place but there was an “air” of ease from the moment I booked. I only wished my head massage lasted longer at any point of my service. Thank you Erina & Air for your friendly and prompt service.

This place is amazing! I got a head spa and they started with a scalp massage, and the recliner seat was very comfortable (most comfortable recliner I’ve ever experienced at a hair salon). They cleaned my scalp and got rid of dandruff. They use acupressure for the massage and lymphatic drainage …I felt great afterwards. They washed my hair and blow dried and offer oils and even styling after but I said no and just wanted it blow dried straight. My friend are I are from Australia and they were very accomodating to us so great for foreigners. I had Yumi and she was wonderful. Thanks!

Highly recommend! The location is local to Dotonbori and it’s amazing! The staff are very friendly and it’s very much English friendly. I got a hair treatment which left my hair feeling great for days after! I had Mayo Yamano as my stylist and she was perfect! She was super sweet and friendly which put me at ease because I was slightly nervous to have someone handling my hair which gets tangled and knotty very easily.
