"The very definition of price gouging"
The gas price here is super expensive. I only went because I wanted to fill my tank a little bit so I can get home and buy more gas around my area. My gas meter was reading "18" before I pumped the gas. I paid $5.30 with my card to pump gas and after I finished I turned the car on and put my foot on the gas pedal and I noticed that my gas meter did not change one bit. It was still reading "18." I drove out the gas station, pass the red light and I drove back to the gas station and my gas meter still not change at all. I parked in from of the gas pump that I had just purchased the gas and I went to store window to complain to the staff that I paid for gas but no gas came out of their gas pump. I told him that my meter was at "18" prior and it is still reading "18 " even after I just paid and used their gas pump. The staff then told me that the gas that I purchased is less than one gallon and that I will not see any change. I told him that despite me buying less than a gallon of gas, I should still be able to see a small difference on my meter but instead my gas meter did not change at all. He told me that it might not change right away since it is a small amount and that I should drive it for some time. That explanation seemed very odd because it should not take long to see a change in the gas meter after pumping gas. But I left and got on the highway and reached my destination without the gas meter ever moving up. I then purchased gas from another place and my gas meter went straight up so I know that there is nothing wrong with my car. THIS PLACE IS REALLY ROBBING PEOPLE. OTHERS FROM PREVIOUS COMMENT HAVE SAID THE SAME THING. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE IF POSSIBLE.
The gas station is too expensive! I had to buy fuel here today and the price per liter of gasoline was quite high. I know that I can get gas at a lower price at another gas station of the same brand. So, I don't understand this station's pricing policy. It feels like they're trying to take more money out of their customers' pockets instead of making them happy. If they continue like this, I'm sure they will lose their customers' loyalty. Furthermore, the price displayed on Google Maps is not the same as the price at the gas station. This is misleading and frustrating for customers like me. I would appreciate it if the gas station could ensure that the price on Google Maps is accurate and up-to-date, so that customers can make informed decisions when choosing where to buy fuel. Usually, I fill up my tank with an average of $80-85, but yesterday I filled it up for almost twice that amount. It's literally theft, and I want the remaining amount refunded, otherwise I will file a complaint with my bank. Please get back to me.
This travesty ‼️ The price was exorbitant and indeed like a prior one star 1⭐️ patron the meter did not move & I put $20 and I got less than three and a half gallons, and when I drove to Brooklyn boarding the FDR drive South, adjacent this BP station, on E 16th streets and Ave C….The meter stayed in the same position it was before I put in the $20 ⛽️ gas, to and from Brooklyn. I live in Lower East Side on 13th and Ave B., not to far from the BP on FDR. I only went here because I didn’t want to risk going to Brooklyn on a quarter tank. But like I said my meter remained in the same quarter tank position, so perhaps maybe the meter is purposely not calibrated. So for my $20 I really only received $10 or maybe $13 worth of real gas ⛽️…. Because the meter did not move….
My friend was running low on fuel and due to the steep gas price, decided to get just enough fuel to get her home. We noticed that after pumping, her gas meter did not go up at all. She informed the staff and he gave a poor excuse saying since she got less than a gallon, the meter did/would not change right away and would subsequently go up after driving around for some time. We both had never heard of such a thing, so we were obliged to take his advice. Well after driving 12 miles, the gas meter did not change at all. It only changed after we pumped the same about if gas at another station. Now why is there a stark difference? 2430 FDR drive is scamming its customers. We noticed that other reviewers have mentioned similar stories. Lesson learned. Don’t come here!!!
The very definition of price gouging. It usually takes less than $30 to fill up my small Honda Fit. Here, the cost was almost double. If you desperately need fuel, get a few dollars worth and then drive yourself to a gas station outside Manhattan. Updating with a reply to the "response from the owner" (which is apparently not the independent owner of the actual location): Nothing in your response refutes my original review above. The independent owner/operator of this particular location has chosen to raise its prices well above what would be expected in this economy. The increase may not have reached the point of illegality, but it is still excessive and some would say unethical.
Why are the gas prices so high here?! I ended paying at least 15 dollars more to full up my tank than usual. BP responds to complaints with this generic message: "Retail gasoline prices are not set by BP. Instead, they are a reflection of the current function of supply and demand and are ultimately set by the individual retail sites, which are independently owned and operated". My question to you BP is why would you allow them to disgrace your name period? Great way to take advantage of being the closest gas station in the lower east side. Shame on you guys! SHAME!
Terrible!! They totally took advantage of my lack of knowledge of cars and started smoothly selling me things saying I needed them, when clearly I didn't. as if they did it 1000 times b4. Well I'm ashamed to say the scam worked and what would've been a regular fill up ended up costing $136 . I may have been foolish but they were scheming and completely dishonest. Not to mention way way over priced.
Grossly over priced! Even for Manhattan. Today, premium is $5.00/ gal. In Brooklyn, within 1 mile of bridges, there are multiple stations of same brand from $3.27 to $3.37. Also air for .75 or $1 not $2. And a surcharge for full service? No one else does that! This location has been there for many years. So why is it so much more expensive than even the stations on the West Side?
This station is a ripoff, prices are ridiculously high for gas. I guess since no competition around they feel like these prices are okay. These are the same people that polluted the ocean for months due to oil pipe disaster. Hope someone sees this and reports them for price gouging. Look how much they penalize you for using card versus cash. "CROOKS OF THE HIGHEST CALIBER"
I had $6 on me, it said $3.99 per gallon, when I pulled in the guy took my money and pretended to pump my gas. After he was done he came up to the window saying ok sir you're finished. My gas didn't even go up by 1 mile! And then the guy said to me oh sir it's $4.99. The crazy part is even if it WAS $4.99, my gas didn't go up AT ALL! Avoid this place, they're scheemers!
One of the best gas stations around. Prices are super cheap and the service is impeccable. Thankfully it’s one of the few gas stations around, because it’s all you’ll need. I’d be afraid that being one of the few stations in lower Manhattan would cause a monopoly leading to astronomical prices careless service and poor functioning equipment, but not here! 5 stars!!
Gas prices are outrageous!! I went to go get gas and it was $3.99 cash just for regular!!! I'll go to Brooklyn or the Bronx. Then I decided to get air for my tire since it was low, $2.00 for air.....Not to mention one time the gas was bad and it messed up the engine in one of my cars. My advice, unless your car is on E, go to BK or the BX for gas!
I filled up a full tank of gas, and the fuel that was provided for me was defective, and my car did not function after I left the gas station within 15 minutes Beware of this gas station it sells bad gas. You will ruin your car because of this gas station. Attached photo shows the inspection of the fuel and it confirms my comment.
Total mess at arrival. Fuel station looks like a warzone. We drove a Cadillac Escalade rental with a 28 gallon tank. The pump operator must have made a "mistake" charging us 108 dollars for fueling up the car whilest being 50% full which is not even possible with today's prizes My own mistake for not checking it! Lesson learned.
I literally was robbed. I had 38 mile range i purchased 1 gallon the guy pretended to pump the gas and ripped me off. DO NOT GO HERE. THEY ARE THEIVES. when I called a few min later to ask why my range on miles didn't change i got a studering answer. DONT GO HERE THESE PEOPLE ROB YOU. I filled a complaint with the authorities
Cakes are delicious...variety of design options for any occasion...Need to order in advance to get get it your way/style...have cakes on hand in a pinch but selection and type is slim on known holidays, so Order early!! Prices are decent for cake products, also other goodies like cupcakes, cookies are available for pruchase.
Riverside fuel station in FDR service road near E 23rd Street and Avenue C. The have a convenience store but it is very small with limited items. Station is busy, price moderate. It needs improve in their convenience store. Service is good. River view in a good things for the customers
Zero starts. Came for air and had no quarters. ATM was not connected to a network and they said it was my card. They were absolutely not helpful and had no customer service whatsoever. Do not come here. Also their gas prices are at least $1 more per gallon then everywhere else
NEVER GO TO THIS STATION. I hardly leave reviews but gotta say, during a pandemic they charge twice the price per gallon?! In most parts of the city it's about $2 per gallon, and this place decided it was gonna be $4. Horrible business ripping people off, for what?
This place is ridiculously a rip off it needs to be reported to the department of consumers and they need to be shut down immediately charging people $100 for a tank of gas. It’s unacceptable. …
Gas station by the east river, nice location... Only nearby gas station serving Downtown Manhattan and environs. The City keep losing its gas stations to high rise buildings. Thx goodness this is still standing. Enjoy the beautiful scenery as you gas up
Since this is pretty much the only gas station in the area the prices are steep! My recent trip it was almost 6 dollars per gallon! only come here if you not worry about the price or emergencies! the staff is very on and off. most are friendly.
Staff is friendly but the prices here aren't. It is the only station in the area so not much that you can do when you need to fuel. Pay attention - the four pumps closer to the water are 'FULL SERVICE' and rates are about $1 more per gallon
This is one of the few gas stations on Manhattan, the prices are much higher than in the suburbs but that is to be expected. At the time I used this location to fill up my rental car, it was over 4 dollars per gallon for regular unleaded.
Please send someone to audit this gas station. Their prices are insane and their “gas” seems like it’s just air. Put a couple of gallons in and the light still says empty. I wouldn’t be surprised to not make it back over the bridge.
The service rep was helpful. He was like gas on one side was more than on the other side. Never been to New York before so gas there was expense. Also this gas station is hidden in the cut. I had a hard time finding it.
Credit card price is almost a dollar more than cash price. Just gouging at this point- it’s only 3-5% everywhere else more for card (max) and they’re like 15-17% higher than their cash price. That isn’t “retail” price.
THIEF THIEF THIEF! I fueled 2 gallons to my motorcyle and the gas pump show 2 gallon and right price, but when i look at the recepit a week later, it shows 4 gallons on it! My motorcyle does not have a 4 gallons tank!
They definitely spike up the price since they're the only gas station around the area, there's construction around them which made it a bit hectic for cars to get out of the station once they were done pumping gas.
Hard to get in & out of station. Prices were horrible. $3.99 self serve (which had a long line) $4.99 for full service. The guy didn't even clean the windshield. My friend had to clean them himself.
The attendant insists on pumping gas for you and then charges $1.50 extra per gallon for this "service." 5.00 a gallon when the advertised sign says 3.49. Scam--they should be shut down by the City.
Prices are insane for this part of town, and much higher than that of anywhere else in the country. Bathrooms are bad, and the company doesn't have a great track record with keeping things clean.
I have the attendant $20, and it's only after I left that I realized that he did not put $20 Worth of fas in the car. $27 fills up the tank. After I left, I o lye had half a tank of gas.
DO NOT GO to this gas station they are ripping people off; current reg average price is 3.69 and premium is 4.49, they are charging 7.39 for reg that’s insane that’s double the price!
8 dollars a gallon. 131 dollars I unknowingly spent to fill my car up because I didn't see the sign and the guy came running out to fill up my car for me and not let me see the price
might be cheaper to fuel your car with champagne than going here… a great example of what happens when u allow a merchant to corner the market(the only gas station for several miles)
Horrible place for a gas station. The employee that was serving asked for my pin number when I gave him my card to pay. It's incredibly hard to get out the station. Too stressful
Literally double the price of normal gas stations.I paid $13 for 2 gallons. These prices are not reflective of the market as the owner claims, they’re reflective of greed.
Price gouging at is finest. $6 a gallon, every where else I saw $3.40 to $4.50 a gallon. It's self service at that, can't even have someone service you as they rob you.
Insane prices. Should be illegal! Look at Gas Buddy and you'll see its way more expensive than any other place in the city. Thanks for the reply BP but thats BS!
This is a SCAM!!! Online it said one price you get to the gas station and it was double the price from Shell. I should have read the review before coming m.
Truly the worst gas station I've gone to, my car can't handle more than $30 in gas and yet somehow they charge me $67 with there prices. So disappointing.
Do not go there unless you have money to throw away. This people are thieves and they need to go to jail. I’m filing a complaint with the consumer affairs
I guess it's Manhattan price straight up extortion price..stay away if you can or you'll pay almost $2.00 more per gallon compared with anywhere else..lol
Gas very expensive never think going back there. Only if Is a emergency and will put $20 only in gas. Ridiculous $97 dollars full up my tank . …
Horrible service and rude employees. You should avoid this place if you don't want to get ripped off and also avoid it to save your money and your day!
This is by far the most expensive gas station!!!!!!!!!! throughout all of 5 boro everytime i pass them i only wonder how are they still in business.
The BP on 23 street and the FFR in Manhattan NY is a RIP off. At this station regular gas is almost 4 dollars a gallon, every where else it's 2.75 .
Only, if your stuck on the road. Please do yourself a favor avoid at all cost. $ 5.00 for a gallon regular! Let the rich, pay the rent for the gas.
Me gusta porque en Manhattan no ay muchas gasolineras para abasteserte I like it because higher there are not many gas stations to supply you
Horrible, just horrible at $5 the gallon is crazy. Notice to late because of the rush and my needle didn’t move at all, wouldn’t trust!!!
7 dollars per gallon. Just WOW. The fact that its legal for them to openly scam you is outrageous. DONT GO HER. I REPEAT, DONT GO HERE.
Attention! Be careful of wrong charges!!! The display said $72 when I got 25gal tank filled up from empty, my credit card shows $126.
Yikes. Gas was advertised at 3.30 but we came and gas was actually $6.39 for card. Cash price was $5.69. Def not returning again.
I needed to use the bathroom, and because the manager wanted to go first, they declared the bathroom "out of service", seriously.
My gas meter never changed, I complained and the workers said they don’t know what to tell me. It’s watered down and a robbery!
The worst gas station possible they are always priced at least $1.25 per gallon more than any other gas station in the area!!!
Way too expensive, not worth it. Went there and almost spend $5 per gallon, when other gas station price are $1.99 per gallon
Over priced for obvious reason but none of the pipes work properly was literally stuck there for 15 min bc its ran so poorly
the most expensive gasoline in the United States, take a good look before swiping your card, it cost me 5 dollars a gallon
Only station below 25th street. Prices are higher than other stations but when u need gas . It's your only option Downton.
Terrible service but the gas is always reasonable compared to the rest of the city. It's also easy hop on hop off the FDR.
Avoid this place at all cost. Absolute rip off. $4.99 per gallon for regular petrol. First and last time I've been there.
Nice attendants, very helpful they are. This has station is in Manhattan so they prices are bit high. I meant expensive
Don't go unless u wanna pay a fortune for gas. Website said 2.99 per gallon but when we got there it was 4.99! Insane!
Ridiculously overpriced, but, since there are no other gas stations around I guess then can charge whatever they want.
Nice little spot for a quick fill and wash best at night no traffic , car wash is super empty and cheaper at night.
They charged me for a brake oil $12.00 !!! Seriously ??? I mean, there is a limit to overcharge people for things.
Most expensive gas station in Manhattan and worst customer service but the only one in that area place to avoid .
Air pump gauge doesn't work and they wouldn't lend me a manual gauge. I had to pay exorbitant price to buy one.
One of the last gas stations in lower Manhattan. Good place to go if you need to refill your Avis Rental car.
very expensive for gas especially if paid with credit. the usual 48 dollar fill up will cost about around 80.
Definitely a ripoff regardless of supply and demand. Nyc wants to kill drivers and this guy twists the knife
One of the only places to get gas in lower Manhattan. They do have air if you want to spend two dollars.
One of my fav for fuel in the morning on the east side by the river. One of the last places to get fuel.
Refused to let me use his restroom, while letting other customer use it. Will Never purchase gas again.
Online it said one price you get to the gas station and it more expensive then advertising on Google
Most expensive gas station in the state of NY and it's a dollar more per gallon if you let them pump
Be careful with this gas station they are stilling people's money specifically if you're using cash
Be careful with this gas station, I put money in it and it doesn't put out the right amount of gas
Not great gas station, next to where I made one of the best memories of my life though. On a yacht
I got a brand new Toyota camry 2001. Full service checks the oil and replenishes fuel as needed.
Robbery, put one gallon in if very low and move on to a regular station, never come here again.
As advertised, a gas station and convenience store. Not the cheapest place on the block though.
Broken pump, not on point no receipt, says it's 2.99$ online but it's 4.50$ when you get there.
False advertising prices. The board has different price compared to actual pump. A rip off.
Prices are astronomical but this place was a lifesaver when the dreaded gas light came on.
Very very expensive gas. Better off going to Brooklyn or the Bronx. Bronx is my 1st choice
The most expensive gas station in lower Manhattan I think they make up there own prices
Twice as expensive as other gas stations. Diesel was $6.4 when others had it for $3.5.
Expensive.. but necessary.. it's the only gas station on the FDR drive below 96th St!!
Guys are always friendly. Prices are pretty reasonable considering it's Manhattan.
The worst gas station ever No respect for a customer and they are so disrespectful
Went to go fill my basketball with air and they charge $2. Pandemic price I guess
The attendant was great, he helped with my tire & spotted the problem. Thank you
If you enjoy being robbed in public in broad daylight, you'll love this place.
Waze won’t even let me update the real prices today bc they are so high. Lolol
One of the few gas stations left in the midtown area. Prices are kinda steep
