The whole crew- Jen, Arie, and especially Juan- were absolutely amazing with our 3 year old daughter who hates getting her hair detangled, washed & styled because she had a LOT of super fine tight curls that tangle as soon as you finish detangling. We were back in town visiting from Texas and the salon agreed to help even though she is 3. What we all expected to take 1 1/2 to 2 hours max ended up taking 3 hours and there were 3 people working on her hair for part of it. She was inconsolable and Jen came up with a brilliant idea to let her spray water at the mirror and aim at each of us while detangling was happening. Then Arie kept coming over to comfort her while Juan was trying to wash her hair and both Jen and Juan kept detangling. And when she was moving her head so much it was hard to get the two part twists done, Juan was so patient, kind and gentle with our girl. We stayed well past when they should have closed but never once did anyone make us feel bad. We couldn’t be more thankful for the kindness and care they gave us, especially this tired mama who needed the help.

Jonathan is an excellent and professional stylist! I have naturally long curly hair, and have been seeing him for a few years now typically for a “Silky Smooth Blowdry.” He never misses the mark with straightening and styling in a way that maintains hair health. What I appreciate most as a “curly girl,” is that his cuts look good whether my hair is curly or straight. I must note that on 6/4/22, I was originally booked for a curly cut only but, my plans changed for an event the next day and needed a different look. I called the salon in advance to notify them and Jonathan of the change. Despite the time allotment required for the booking (straightening being longer), he accommodated me. I appreciate the consistency and ease that comes with seeing him for hair appointments. Tip: He books up fast so, lock in an appointment with him as soon as possible or in advance of an occasion. I will continue to use him as my stylist for years to come…

Diamond is an amazing hairstylist!!! I have always wanted to color my hair and did some research on what salons to go to. I found 718 salon on Myrtle ave after looking for salons that specialize in curly hair. I went in and Diamond was so welcoming educating me on any questions I had and about my hair. She worked with me on my budget and gave me such a satisfying experience. She was so kind, professional, and truly made the experience for me and my friend. I would most definitely recommend this place. I would highly suggest to others to work with Diamond as well because she knows so much about hair and especially curly hair which was hard trying to find a stylist/ salon willing to work with my curls. She gave me the confidence boost I needed and I can’t wait to go back to get my hair done again!!

Jackie @ Salon 718 did the most spectacular job coloring my hair, she picked the perfect color based on my skin tone and it looks absolutely beautiful. I’ve received so many compliments and I can’t stop looking at hair in the mirror. Jackie is a highly qualified professional hairstylist who takes the time to listen to your ideas or concerns. I highly recommend making an appointment to see Jackie, you won’t be disappointed. Also, Salon 718 adheres to the strictest protocols with respect to COVID 19. Upon my arrival, the chairs I sat on were disinfected, I was asked to sanitize my hands and my temperature was taken, my gown came from a sealed plastic bag, the brush used on my hair was in a sealed plastic, all stylist and theirs customer was spaced out more than 6 feet. Super clean environment.

My recent visit deserves a 2/10. I’m giving 2 instead of 1 because the lady that got me water and rung me up was extremely nice. Other than that, I was completely bamboozled by this salon because I was told over the phone when I scheduled my blow out that it would be $55. When I went to pay, i was told my service was $102?!! HOW could a blowout cost $102?! Literally blew my mind and asked for a break down and the man who did my hair answered with random fees like “long hair fee” and “curling iron fee” even though he never used a curling iron on my hair? The cherry on top was that the loose curls that i asked for to be done with a round brush and blow dryer - didn’t even last me an HOUR. I went to my event with flat, straight hair. Do not come here because they will completely rip you off.

My name is Sophia. I had Kai as my stylist. She did such an amazing job with my color correction and hair cut she literally revitalized my hair. Kai is super professional & knowledgeable about her craft she made the whole process quick easy and relaxing. I was able to set an appointment at a time that was accommodating for me and bring my kids along too. The entire staff were so welcoming and professional and fun to spend the day with. I will definitely be returning soon for my next appointment super happy that I came across this salon, I would highly recommend this salon to everyone. I left that place with a whole new boost of confidence. If you want a certain look I'm sure they can achieve it I'm beyond happy with my new hair & look.

First off just want to say WOW and a big thank you to Juan who took care of me for my hair appointment. The Staff was extremely nice and friendly. Juan was definitely on top of his game and was super informative. Jackie is very pleasant patient, knowledgeable and skilled. We spoke she asked me a lot of questions about my lifestyle and how I handle my day to day hair. This was my first time to the Salon 718. I had my blow out appointment with Semkiya. She was very friendly and welcoming upon entering. We went to the chair and she thoroughly evaluated my hair. During my shampoo, I stressed that my hair always feels dry and tangled after washing. She offered me a treatment to help soften and hydrate my hair. She even recommended me a product to take home. I chose to have a blowout with some volume and bounce, and she was able to deliver that! My hair hasn’t felt this soft in years. I was very happy with my service today and I received so many compliments on my way home. Will definitely be returning for future services!

First of all the whole crew is a vibe that I "mess" with. I walked in and felt like "my people". Everyone from Kai greeting me to Liv my stylist was so welcoming. Liv did an excellent job . And she got at me for bad habits like constant twists and braids that are not kind to your scalp. The atmosphere was excellent. The music was bumpin and everyone knew the words. I love Salon 718! I have been going to Juan for a few years now and he is amazing! He is always so thoughtful and considerate about my specific hair needs and goals. I love that he takes the time to understand exactly what I’m going for at the start of every appointment, and never disappoints on the final result. He is also incredibly knowledgeable, especially about textured hair, so I always leave with tips on how to keep my hair looking and feeling amazing all the time. Aside from being a wizard of all things hair related, Juan is a great person and so fun to talk to. Every experience I’ve had in his chair has been wonderful.

Amazing salon and I get the best haircut from Kai! Will definitely be returning! Super professional and doing everything they could to keep the place safe during these crazy pandemic times. Unfortunately, one client thought it was okay for her unmasked children to run around -- super disrespectful to the staff and other clients. Please, don't bring your kids if you don't have to. A few months ago I was in need of a color and a soft change and I took a chance on salon718 and I got Diamonique!! She took her time, asked questions and made her recommendations which I went with. Ended up with a color and balayage and I LOVE IT! I only went there because my regular colorist was out of pocket for a while. Well I just cheated on her again and went back to Diamonique lol. This experience was just as great - got a retouch, deep conditioning and trim. Diamonique rocks and really loves what she does. She’s also quite pleasant. This salon (any location) is great. All I can say is my stylist juan is amazing and he did a great job on my haircut. The salon was clean and friendly, and they were very welcoming. They make you feel at home and do not make you feel uncomfortable my experience with my third haircut in my life was amazing and I thank Juan for being patient and understanding and not being annoyed if I asked a question and his coworkers couldn’t get any better . I’ve been coming to Salon718, and Juan specifically, for several years, so it was a clear choice to go with them for my wedding hair and makeup. As always, Juan delivered and made me look and feel like an absolute rockstar. I’m not a big makeup person in real life, so I didn’t know what to expect from a professional make up experience, but Mariah was amazing. She made me feel so comfortable and relaxed, and made me look great without going over the top. Plus, my makeup lasted all night and I looked great even after dancing for hours. I love Salon718 and they really made my day extra special.

Juan was amazing!!! From the consultation til the very end he was great. He listened to me very well and read in between the line of what I was saying and asking. He posed a lot of great questions for me the client and it made me feel like I was being listened too and cared for. At first I was a bit nervous about going to a salon for the first time since I usually go to barbers but the staff made me feel very welcome and took care of me right away. Hi, true to form, Salon 718 provided another great experience. Everyone is so nice, has great energy and is totally professional. I saw Diamond this time for a keratin treatment. I have long, wavy, full bodied hair. She took her time to get every strand and days later it still looks like I just walked out of the salon. She is incredibly attentive and focused. One thing thing I especially appreciated is her candor regarding hair and styling— I don’t think she’d do anything that would not actually look great on you. So with Diamond you will always be in good hands!

Johnathan is INCREDIBLE! He has completely transformed my hair… when I first came to Johnathan about 8 years ago my hair was a MESS! Jackie is professional, talented, and patient. As someone who came in to get hair color for the first time, she did a great job explaining the services when setting up our appointment. When I finally arrived for the hair color appointment, I noticed that she had a good habit of telling me exactly what she was about to do before she did it. Whether she did that because I was new or not is irrelevant - it made me feel less clueless and more at ease. I left satisfied with her work and will definitely come back to her as my primary hairstylist in the future.

Laura S. has done my hair for 8+ years, and I’m so sad I moved away because she’s been my all time favorite stylist! I recently had my hair done way too dark and I waited until I was visiting NYC for her to fix it!! Honestly one of my best salon experiences to date, and I don’t say that lightly! I’ve been to salon718 before but my experience with Diamonique was unbelievable. She was so warm and kind and it was so clear she cared about my hair and wanted to make sure I left the salon feeling amazing! I went in for a blow dry and left with the most amazing silk press and a trim, she knew that would look best and achieve what i wanted and she was so right. Kai and Juan are superstars!!! Kai colored by hair and it looks AMAZING and Juan gave me a cut that made me feel like a million bucks. These two really made my experience at Salon 718 one to remember as they made sure I was comfortable the entire time. They also listened closely to all my concerns about my hair and worked with me to customize a cut/color just for me! I left with a new do that I am so excited to show off! I AM SO HAPPY I FOUND THIS SALON! I came here needing a haircut that day and they accommodated me so easily. I was matched with Juan and when I tell you he made me feel so beautiful before making my hair look even MORE beautiful! I was nervous coming in because I don’t know anything about hair at all—I haven’t visited a salon in 5+ years (yikes). However, Juan was so sweet to answer all my questions and even did extra styling to my hair because he wanted me to feel special and pampered. My son just had his first appointment with Jackie for a curly boy’s cut, he’s very particular with his hair and he’s super happy with it. She took the time to really discuss with him what he did and did not want and explained to him in detail how she would cut it. After the cut she taught him how to style it and recommended a great product for him to easily replicate the style at home on his own. We’re super excited we found her! Salon is very cute and everyone was so nice. Highly recommended!

Liv is the best!! I was a new client looking for a fresh look. As a first timer, I accidentally booked the wrong service (haircut vs. Silky smooth blow-dry) which meant her schedule was a little off, but she never made me feel rushed or anxious. I left with exactly what I wanted. A nice cut and loose curls! Liv is extremely attentive and was so knowledgeable about my hair on my first visit. I was so impressed that I brought my mom and sister when they came to town. Go see Liv!!

Kai is very kind, professional and does a great job with my hair. My hair is short and curly and she gave me a really nice no maintenance pixie cut that I really like. Juan gave an amazing massage when he washed my hair and is just incredibly gracious. The salon itself is quite nice too, very calming and serene. Great place overall. I actually came because my hairdresser at another salon was out of town, and I think I’ll be making the switch to this salon.

I usually bleach and color my hair at home, but messed up and needed a professional’s hands to do some course correction. Liv not only was able to take the wheel and give an end result that surpasses anything I could’ve done myself, but did so with grace, humor, and a friendly smile. She took proper precautions to make sure I did not burn my scalp with a second bleach and had my hair feeling healthier than ever leaving the salon. A lifesaver!

It was my first time getting a cut (and exfoliating scalp ritual) with Jennifer and it was a perfect experience. It's clear that Jennifer is a great stylist. She worked with me to find the right length and curtain bang for an upcoming bridal updo and she shared lots of great information and tips for working with colored hair. She even gave me a short haircut suggestion based on my hair type for the next visit. She has my recommendation!

Had a great experience getting a curly cut from Juan!! I'm always really nervous about getting my haircut and having more taken off then I would like. I get very nervous when people cut my hair…due to it being curly and having it cut by many people at various salons over the years. I was never truly happy with the way my hair was cut but then I found Salon 718. I was able to have my hair cut and styled by Jonathan for the second time. He listens to your ideas, give suggestions, and does a wonderful job overall. HIGHLY RECOMMEND this hair stylist.

I have been looking for a new salon for a little bit and my friend Giulia needed hair models for her class. My friend and I went- we learned so much and had such a great time. This was the first time I went to 718 salon, and I was so thrilled with my experience there. juan truly knew his way around a head of curly hair and it was evident in the way he cut my hair-dry- and how he styled it with a diffuser. On top of all that it wasn’t your typical 15 minute in and out cut. He spent almost a full hour with me. I can’t wait to go back.

Irving was amazing! I felt like he knew how to handle my thick waves and understood my hair. He did a dry cut (which I always prefer) and then touched up after my hair was washed. I had the best haircut of my life with Jackie!!! She absolutely killed it. I asked for a 90s blowout look with curtain bangs and let me tell you, she delivered! Diamond is a pixie cut genius! I have had nonstop compliments on my haircut since she cut my hair last month, and she did great work again today! Diamond took time to understand the texture of my hair and work with my cowlicks, so the hair lay just right after the cut, and continued to look great as it grew out!
