I booked a private 3 day tour (2 days in St. Petersburg and 1 in Moscow) for my elderly parents and myself. The company was extremely well run and they very clearly put a lot of effort in to training their people. TJ Travels totally made our trip. We saw much more than we would have on our owned and learned a lot about Russia’s history and culture. We had a driver (Gennady) and guide (Tatiana). My mom uses a cane so I was extremely pleased with how kind and helpful Gennady was when helping my mom get in and out of the van. He was also very assertive about dropping us off and picking us up as close as possible to the various sites that we visited. Gennady was even kind enough to take us to a folk show and back to the ship one night. He also picked us up early on the day that we went to Moscow and picked us up when we returned. It was also really nice to be able to leave our stuff in the van with him when we were hopping out for a short period to see something and not have to worry about pickpockets or anything like that. Tatiana was the best tour guide that I’ve ever had without a doubt. It was clear that she was very passionate about history and art. For example, we were walking through the Hermitage and my mom asked about some seemly random painting and Tatiana was a able to rattle off the name, artist and year without skipping a best. I never learned to have much of an appreciation for art, but after spending time with her, I feel like I understand it so much better now and can enjoy seeing paintings much more now. Tatiana also knew interesting stories behind the buildings and statues that we passed by and symbols that we saw throughout the city. Her knowledge is truly incredible and she spoke English very well. She even gave us a mini lesson on the differences between the English and Russian alphabet and pronunciations. Tatiana and Gennady made it a wonderful experience. Having a driver and a guide makes a world of difference. The ease of travel was such a luxury and Tatiana, as well as our guide in Moscow, knew all the tricks for navigating the masses and were able to “skip the line” everywhere we went. I think we only waited in one place for 10 minutes, at the most, which saves you so much time, especially when the lines are as insanely long as they were, and gives you the opportunity to see more things. The trip to Moscow was easy. Gennady picked us up, took us to the train station and took us to meet our escort. The escort got us on the train and took us to meet our Moscow guide and driver (who were also excellent by the way). Then did it all again in reverse to get back to our ship. There were no concerns or stress about getting to Moscow and back. Just a few tips... it’s not as dangerous as the western media would have you believe. Like any big city, there is crime, but we never felt unsafe and I didn’t hear about any of the other groups having any concerns. The food was amazing everywhere we went... I was a little worried about that, but they took us to some very good places (as a part of the tour) that were our favorite meal on our month long trip. If you’re going to a Baltic country, I highly recommend booking TJ Travels. I can’t say enough about the wonderful experience that they created for us. My only disappointment is that I didn’t book them for other cities, but certainly will in the future.

We booked a custom, private 3 day tour with TJ travel that included two days in St. Petersburg and one day in Moscow while sailing with the Royal Caribbean ship, Serenade of the Seas. TJ Travel was amazing from the start of booking all the way through to the end of the tour. During the booking process they were able to answer all the questions we had about Russia, explain the visa process in detail, calm any concerns that we had and ensure that all of our custom itinerary requests and changes were honored. We had some unique requests for things that we wanted to see on our tour and not only did they not bat an eye, they went out of their way to make the tour as schedule work as perfectly as possible. We had Daria as our guide in St. Petersburg and she was AMAZING. She had stories for every place that we visited, asked us questions to make sure we were still engaged but adjusted perfectly to the pace of our group and noticed when we wanted to spend more or less time at a location. There were also a few times where she assisted with "the locals" with negotiations and special requests and she did it professionally and with a smile. Our driver, Anna, was also amazing and ensured that we got to our destinations on time, had all the bottled water we wanted and watched our valuables in the mini coach. In Moscow our guide was Tatyana and she was also incredibly professional and knowledgeable. You can tell that TJ travel picks only the best guides and ensures that they are not only knowledgeable but personable as well. Tatyana helped us navigate a tight schedule in Moscow and ensured we saw much more than we thought we would. I couldn't imagine visiting Russia and not taking the time to visit Moscow as well. We also were very impressed how well TJ Travel handled all the logistics of picking us up at the port, making sure we made it to the train station on time to get to Moscow and had a representative from their St. Petersburg office on the train each way to handle any issues. We were also very impressed with the quality of the mini-coaches in both St. Petersburg and Moscow and loved the free high speed WiFi. We know we will be back to Russia some day, and I am sure we will use TJ Travel again.

First let me say that from beginning to end TJ Travel made everything clear, concise, and so very easy. After much research we settled on TJ out of a small group very highly rated agencies. Following our initial contact we worked with them to setup and personalize our 2 day private tour for 4 adults. The only requirement was a 20% deposit due a few weeks prior to the tour. We made several changes and additions leading up to our trip without a hitch. The staff at TJ are so easy to work with and respond very quickly to questions and suggestions. Their directions for navigating passport control and customs/immigration were very clear and on point. Our guide Inna and driver Sergei were waiting for us as we exited the ship. Sergei was excellent as our driver. He navigated us almost to the doorstep of every museum, church and site and was always right there waiting as we were ready to depart. Always professional but very friendly and accommodating. I have done several private tours throughout Europe, and without a doubt Inna is the best guide we have encountered. She speaks good English and has superior knowledge on everything from Russian history, museums, Russian life and St Petersburg. She made great suggestions on places to eat lunch each day as we were looking for more casual local cafes and eateries. She acted as our guide, translator, and museum expert. The other couple with us used TJ for a Berlin tour as well on our cruise and had nothing but good things to say. They received a discount for booking multiple tours. The price was very competitive with the other agencies and far better than anything the cruise line offered. We did not try any of the evening tours but might do so next time. I can strongly recommend TJ Travel and would use them again.

So happy to have found T J Tours before we left home! We used them for our 2 day St. Petersburg highlights tour in August. We chose T J travel because their groups are a maximum of 15 and their prices are much more reasonable than the cruiseline excursions. With the money we saved we were able to book an excursion in Tallin with them also. We were lucky enough to have only 6 people in our St. Petersburg group and 15 in our Tallin group. Our St.Petersburg guide, Nina, was outstanding! Her wealth of knowledge is truly impressive. We were able to cover much more ground than the cruise ship tours of 30-40 people. Everything was impeccably choreographed so that we avoided lines and crowds. We were even able to take a short subway ride. We had a lovely 3 course lunch each day in two very nice restaurants. This tour included all the main sights of St. Petersburg. Our driver, Tony, was excellent and always there to meet us after every stop. Each day we returned to the ship exhausted but thrilled with our new found knowledge of Russian history. We can't say enough about this company. My only regret is that we didn't book Berlin with them.

Arrived i St Petersburg on board P&O Azura. Had previously arranged a 2 day tour with TJ travel after it being recommended by friends, We were met after immigration by the charming Sofia our guide & led to the waiting minibus. There were only 8 of us on this tour rather than 50 on the competing ship's excursion, Sofia was unbelievably knowledgeable & immensely proud of her wonderful home city. We were taken efficiently to all the major sights & provided with a lovely lunch on both days. The 2 days were rather fast paced to try to cover everything including Hydrofoil to Petrohof, City tour, Catherines Palace, Church of Spilt blood, Peter & Paul Fortress & a Metro Station. The following day we had a boat trip, The Hermitage, Yusov Palace & St Isaacs finally going to the office to pay for the two days. One advantage of TJ Travel is that one doesn't pay until the tours are completed, an excellent system for peace of mind that they will turn up. I would rate the service as 100% satisfactory & will certainly use them again.

Не надо ломать голову ни куда и как добраться, ни как билеты покупать - все за нас сделали)))) Забрали утречком сытых и вдохновоенных из гостиницы и повезли наслаждаться. Гид Виктория очень позитивный и приятный человек, получили огромное удовольствие от общения с ней. Все показывала и рассказывала, отвечала на все вопросы крайне любопытной пары)))) и отлично нас фотографировала. Шикарные фотографии вышли - это и память для альбома, и для инстаграмма в самый раз похвастаться Машина кстати была очень крутая, водитель тоже приятный и легко под нас и наши нужды подстраивался. Два дня провели в индивидуальных экскурсиях, столько бы ни за что не успели сами. Обязательно будем рекоммендовать именно это агентство всем своим друзьям! И когда снова приедем в Питер, то снова к ним обратимся) конечно же за два дня все увидеть не реально. Но успели все таки многое) Дико довольны!

My wife and I booked a 2-day excursion in St. Petersburg, because the tours offered by the ship were considerably more expensive, consisted of larger groups and didn't include the Faberge Museum. TJ was waiting for us, our van was comfortable and our group numbered only 12 persons. Our guide was a very pleasant woman, Tanya (didn't make a note of her given Russian name). Her English was excellent, everything was arranged, including tickets to all of the attractions. Lunch was provided the first day, an excellent 3-course lunch at a very nice restaurant. The second day, we were on our own but Tanya took us to a nice local restaurant and helped us interpret the menu and order. The dates were September 5-5, 2017. We would book future excursions with TJ Travel without reservation. James and Glennda Merry

We were in a small size group tour with only 2 families and 9 people. The car was a new Benz mini-bus with AC, leather seats and free wi-fi, very comfortable. The tour guide and driver were both local Russian. They were very nice, and familiar with everything. There was 3.5 hours waiting line outside the Catherine Palace. But the guide took us to enter from the back door, so we didn't need to wait in the line. For the winter palace, we even entered 30 minutes before the regular opening time. So we avoided the crowds and took a lot of great pictures without tourists in the pictures. The arrangement of activities was great. We even experienced the subway in St Petersburg. All the family members evaluated this tour as the best tour in our 15 days Baltic trip. Highly recommended!

We had a 2-day tour with TJ Travel in St. Petersburg while our cruise ship docked there 2 weeks ago. They provided a phenomenal services during these 2 days. There were only 9 people in our tour group. Our tour guide Tim (Timur) is very knowledgeable and speaks excellent English. He is very patient answering all of our questions. He even paid for the toilet fees for us. (If you don't have small changes in Rubles, going to restroom might be a problem in some places in Russia.) Our driver, Sergey, is very familiar with the road and traffic conditions. We never stuck in the traffic during these 2 days while I heard other people in our cruise ship stayed hours in the traffic. I would like to give them 10 stars if I could. I will use TJ Travel again next time.

The highlight of our recent visit to St Petersburg, Russia was a day long tour with TJ Travel. Our guide, Ksenya, was a wealth of knowledge and a bundle of personality. Booking a private tour gave us an opportunity to ask her about life in the city, as well as to see and hear about the history of it. Although the weather dampened our clothes, it never dampened her spirits. We were thoroughly educated and entranced by both facts and stories about various sites and historical figures. It was an immersion course in Russian history through the city's art and architecture - truly amazing!

10 of us made a Baltic cruise trip in June 2017. TJ Travel provided land tours for us through six cities. All the tour guides were highly professional and commanded good English. All bus services were clean and comfortable. The two day trip through Saint Petersburg were outstanding. This is a must see city in your life time. The tour guild named Nina Pokrovskaya is extremely knowledge and enthusiastic of her work.My special appreciation for the wheel chair service provided by Vladimir Ushakov. We all had a great time.

This tour company did an excellent job in St. Petersburg. Their tour guides are knowledgeable, and they are organized in such a way that they can get you quickly through busy places such as the Hermitage. The tour group sizes are kept smaller, which means it's easier to be flexible in the places you see and in the time you take at each place. I would recommend their 2 day tour of St. Petersburg if you are coming in by cruise ship.

Great service, very knowledgeable guide (Kseniya). She gave us a wonderful tour of St. Petersburg, Pushkin, and Peterhof. The only thing I would nitpick is that sometimes it felt that we were rushing too fast through places (like the Church of the Savior on Split Blood), because there's so much to see and soak in. However, I know we had a schedule to keep to, and it gives me good reason to visit again. Highly recommend TJ Travel!

We had a 2-day tour with Alex (guide) and Constantine (driver). They were both awesome! Constantine was johnny-on-the-spot....always ready and waiting for us. Alex was a wealth of knowledge when it came to St. Petersburg history and architecture. We could not have asked for a better tour--and Alex and Constantine are the reasons. Great tour of st Petersburg. Our guide was informative and personable. We had our kids with us and he was good at letting us wander a little to focus on the kids interests without losing us. Pickup and drop off was smooth and timely.
