"Albert, Harvey, Quinn, and Josh, thank you so much"
"Love this store they are so friendly and so full of knowledge they do a variety of things from coral and making dry rock peices for your tank, they will help you and give you so much knowledge , you feel so good about what u learned once you leave"
"Great Store, so glad i finally found it"
"I was in there a few weeks ago for the first time and the owner take pride in this hobby"
"I have recently gotten into saltwater so needless to say I have lots of stupid questions to ask prior to spending good money on live stock"
Albert, Harvey, Quinn, and Josh, thank you so much. I started my saltwater aquarium tank about one year ago. Albert came and gave us a quote. Both my wife and I felt very comfortable with his knowledge and logic about saltwater aquariums. We got our quote, and when I was talking to a friend about it, he suggested that I talk to his guy, and maybe I could save money. So I thought yeah, it’s a fishbowl, water, salt, lights and fish, how hard can it be? So I decided to get his buddy to help me. And this was a big mistake. I soon realized this guy was not the dude to help me: many, many bad mistakes where made. I then steered away from him and went to another aquarium store that services tanks and advice on setting up etc. I will leave them unmentioned due to respect, but they are well known—one of the top 5 in Edmonton. I felt in good hands till I got an & $1800 water bill for one month! That’s right, $1800! Epcor called and asked if I had a water leak cause something is wrong. We troubleshooted on the phone, and we realized. That the “unmentioned aquarium company “ installed my top-up system and RODI system incorrect and my water was Constantly running for close to two months ! (remember at this time I had never serviced my tank. I hired them to come and do everything necessary to look after it and they had been for about 8-9months at that point) none the less I fired them and looked for another company, and I circled back to 19 islands. Here's where I got humbled. I totally forgot about talking with Albert. And on the phone, he’s like, “yeah, I gave you a quote, right?” Then it kicked in! I was humbled, but I learned a very, very critical lesson in life. Sometimes the cheaper thing is to damn expensive! Since then, they have corrected everything! Saved me from a fire hazard from the work of other unmentioned company. They had me send them a list of the fish and coral that were in my tank since inception, and I realized the other company sold me fish that were meant for a 2+ year tank. And yes, the fish died. I lost at least $2000 in fish because of bad advice. I could go on, but you get the idea. 19island are specialists at what they do. I’m a specialist in a professional environment. I know professionalism when I see it, and they are every bit of it. My tank is happy, healthy and Vibrant since they took over, thank you so much 19Island. I appreciate all the help and ongoing support and services. I usually would never take this much time to write a review. However, I felt responsible for doing it. I genuinely hope this helps you avoid the same mistakes I made. Saltwater fish tanks are beautiful!! And it does not have to be a bad experience or an expensive one. ( mine was, trust me, it cost me almost double the price not hiring 19Island from the beginning) Trust in the 20+ years of knowledge of 19Island. They will look ok, after you.
Love this store they are so friendly and so full of knowledge they do a variety of things from coral and making dry rock peices for your tank, they will help you and give you so much knowledge , you feel so good about what u learned once you leave. Love this store #1 place in Edmonton hands down. They don't have a sign up yet but there in the south end beside the ReMax definitely check it out if you are around there. Say hi to quin or Albert. They also do the fish tanks at the librarys and other offices and business around the city
Great Store, so glad i finally found it. They have a lot of stuff i almost ordered online .. the products no one else wants to stock, or their head office doesn't let them. Jeff was there and was very patient, knowledgeable, and had great suggestions.. He even tolerated my jumping around on topics due to my excitement.. These guys had the Red sea Reefers in stock before anyone else!. Great setup .. lounge chairs.. a place to sit and watch the suspension tank .. kids got to sit and enjoy the scenery..
I was in there a few weeks ago for the first time and the owner take pride in this hobby. He takes the time to explain everything in his store to you and iam new to this hobby and going from the bigger pet stores to here makes me want to explore more with my tank. He makes sure you buy what will work in your tank not what will make him money. And just for that he will be the only place I buy my stuff from. If your new or been in it for years I'd make this your store. Thank you for all the help.
I have recently gotten into saltwater so needless to say I have lots of stupid questions to ask prior to spending good money on live stock. The staff at Marine Aquaria are easy to talk to and go out of their way to try and accommodate my wife and I each and every time we have been in they are never pushy and never make us feel like we are undeserving of being involved in caring for these creatures just because we are new at it.Thank you Marine aquaria!
Love going here. Me and my boyfriend go here religiously on Thursdays (when they get their orders). They constantly special order fish/shrimp for us and are always very friendly and fun to deal with, as well they are very tolerant of my 2 year old running around the store. They are very helpful and have on more then one occasion let me quarantine a sick fish there. I truly do not have a bad thing to say about this store.
We recently got a living wall from 19 Islands installed in a retirement community on the west end of the city - both residents and staff are in love with the end result. Especially during this past year when leaving the building became tricky - we brought the outdoors to them. Incredible support and installation work done by the team. Could not be happier!
My favourite place to shop. They carry many high end brands of fish food that my fish absolutely love! I like how I can order pretty much any fish I want through them. Harvey is a dream to deal with. He has never let me down and has provided lots of insight into me having a healthy tank, and lots of interesting inhabitants. Best fish store in Edmonton!
Best store in Edmonton hands down, they carry alot of high end products, yet with competitive price, the owner and staffs are very knowledged compare to other stores in Edmonton, Custom works or regular tanks they have it all, if you are looking for something different than the regular products you see in town, you have to go there!
We are extremely happy with our saltwater fish tank which was installed and maintained by 19 Islands. The staff was very helpful and made suggestions to keep it thriving. We didn’t realize how much it adds to the atmosphere until it was up and running and now we get compliments on the tank every day!
What a great store and staff. Albert helped us and he was fantastic. He was knowledgeable, honest, friendly and you could tell he has a passion for marine aquatics. Their prices seem good too, along with a nice selection of healthy coals and fish.
We have worked with Josh and Albert for a number of years to build and maintain our home fresh water tank. Friendly and prompt service- Albert is always available to answer any questions or concerns. We really enjoy having the tank.
Great store!!! The owner is so helpful! I'm so very impressed with the amount of knowledge he has about fish and how hes willing to explain everything!!! I will be coming back 100% …
Small operation, friendly and knowledgeable, prices in line with other services, can be unnoticeable if one does not check "address", I purchased corals and fish for my reef aquarium
They’ve been working with our living wall which receives water from our fish tank for a couple years now. Great service and they very much love their industry.
Very Friendly and very informative, by far my favourite LFS! Would recommend 10/10. Great selection of frags and great knowledge of corals!
Great little aquarium shop with knowledgeable staff and none of the cheap aquarium crap that lines the shelves at the bigger chain stores.
Went for plants. It was very limited and more for commercial clients. Time wasn't wasted as it was nice to see the saltwater fish.
Such a sad store. Poor location, poor selection of live stock, small space. Nice people, but they need more everything.
Amazing and knowledgeable staff, best company in Edmonton for Aquariums and Living walls.
Amazing staff. Excellent products and services. Ask about the Ecokin discount.
If you need any aquarium service or sales ask for Josh great guy to deal with
Great fish. Knowledgeable staff. My favorite marine aquarium store.
Amazing place lots of cool fish. Owner is very polite!

I don't think it's even there anymore.
