I recently heard about aqua market and made my first trip there today to pickup some fish they ordered in for me I gotta say I'm super impressed from the staff to the facility itself..super clean ..beautiful tanks and healthy beautiful fish..frogs...plants ..everything you would need and more Aqua market is a hidden gem ill definitely be going back and giving my business to them instead of these big box stores Like I said from the staff to the facility to the pricing and products they have you can't amd will not go wrong shopping here ..I'm glad to be apart of thefish community cause of stores and staff like aqua market ....thank you for the opportunity you give us with having this store open to us I can from me and plenty others we appreciate and thank you

I have so many amazing things to to say about this fish store. A lot of the fish are locally bred and price like they are wholesale. You wouldn't believe it, they had celestial pearl danios (galaxy rasboras) that were coming right up to the glass, FULL round bellies and they are trained to eat flakes. They have the most amazing guppies and bettas too. Tanks are individually filtered as well. Show-grade bettas and guppies for 70% the cost of what you would find at any other store (both in Edmonton and Calgary). It's a locally owned store by a real hobbyist, and they are able to price at near-wholesale. I don't know how they do what they do at their price points- but I've got nothing but amazing things to say about this LFS. Will be there again soon!

Tucked away in a small strip mall, Aqua Market carries a big variety of different aquatic/reptile livestock and aquarium/terrarium supplies. I'm a BIG plant enthusiast, so I was able to pick up some substrate I've been looking for. The main store entrance is where the supplies are located -- walk further into the back of the store and you'll be lead to ROOMS full of fish and small reptiles! I felt like every corner you uncover a new room to discover!!!!! I told the cashier (who I believe was the owner) I was interested in creating my own terrariums like they have on display, and he took the time to give me some cool pointers and tips to get started. Super friendly and helpful. I will 100% be coming to Aqua Market for all my supplies from now on.

Friendly and welcoming atmosphere. The staff are so knowledgeable and honest- in a good way, promise! I found Aqua Market during a random google search (ps good bye Big Als, you’ve been replaced) Clearly I looked overwhelmed and in over my head because the staff was instantly there to help. I explained my set up and what fish I was considering; without hesitation the gentleman began to explain that my set up was much to small. As we walked around he engaged with my little one, and made a point to show him the big tanks and the cool fish. He walked me around and showed me what my best options were. He explained care tips, feeding options and the benefits of love plants. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Really impressed with this new aquarium store! I'm sure our visit will be the first of many. DEFINITELY check this place out if you are an aquarium hobbyist! The shop is very well organized and stocks many reputable, high-quality aquarium foods, medication, and supplies, without the branding shenanigans that you might see at larger chain retailers. The owner and staff members are knowledgeable and welcoming, and were very receptive of discussing our care strategy for our current aquarium residents and their conundrums. We didn't stay long to check out the livestock selection, but at a quick glance there was fantastic variety and a lovely setup.

Aqua Market is a destination aquarium fish store! They have an excellent assortment of aquarium fishes, many of which that are not commonly seen in other stores. The staff have a high level of expertise in the fish, aquatic invertebrates, and aquatic plants they carry. They offer great prices and do their best to ensure fish keepers have success with anything they purchase. Their staff are friendly and helpful and, in my experience, go the extra mile. I highly recommend visiting Aqua Market. I’ve purchased fish, snails, shrimp, plants as well as dry products from Aqua Market—all with complete satisfaction.

Someone at Petsmart recommended Aqua Market when I was looking for Cardinal Tetra. To my surprise there are a lot of fish and plant selections in the store, plus the prices are reasonable. More importantly the fish looks very healthy and there are a lot of rare varieties. The staff was very friendly, helpful, and gave me a lot of good advice. I took a lot of pictures that day. After a few days of research on the internet with the picture taken, I came back and bought a bunch of fish that were better than the Cardinal Tetra. I am very happy with the results and will come back again.

I couldn't be happier I found this place, I was actually sent here on the recommendation of another store. It's tucked away but still large and well kept. The owner immediately introduced himself and was very friendly with answering my questions. He also had a ton of plain 5 gallon aquariums - why these are so hard to find these days, I honestly don't know. Then he custom made glass lids for them for me, blew me away. He's knowledgable and helpful but not pushy. Good selection of accessories. Definitely my new favourite store.

Very pleasant experience. I wanted to find a place that actually cares about the fish they sell and Aqua Market did not disappoint. Blake was so knowledgeable and patient with my fish questions. The shop is very clean and tidy with an extensive amount of tanks. The selection of marine life is outstanding and unlike the other places that sell fish, there were no dead ones floating in the tank. For an independent shop, they are really great with pricing and customer service. Well worth the visit.

Customer service is top notch. The owner is very knowledgeable and offering up information. The new team member is very helpful as well. She doesn't know everything but she doesn't shy away from finding a solution or an answer. I had a problem with the introduction of my fish into my tank and they helped me get to the root of the problem. Gave me great tips on how to go about it better next time and replaced my fish. Please buy your fish and plants from here. You won't regret the experience.

Very cool store! The staff is extremely friendly and very knowledgeable. They had a great selection of fish that looked really alert and healthy. The prices were also quite good, with many items being less expensive than some of the other stores. They also had these beautiful galaxy bettas that I can't get out of my head! I bought some floating plants, moss and a bag of leaf litter (3 types to choose from). The portion sizes of the plants were nice a big. I will definitely be going back!

I dont understand the good reviews. All I know is when I went today, what a sad experience. So many dead and dying fish. I've never seen so many bettas in horrible shape. I felt awful for so many there :( really upset us seeing how dirty and unhappy they were. Staff was cleaning the front of the tanks while the inside were extremely dirty. How hard is it to remove sick and dead fish? Can't miss them. So disappointing. Do not support business that keep fish in this condition.

Michael has a wonderfully peaceful and calm energy to him. He is very knowledgeable and I never second guess the answers he gives me to my questions. Iv had good service from a couple of other local fish shops. Michael and his team have surpassed them all with their willingness to accommodate my requests. If I'm looking for live stock aquamarket is my first stop. I have three tanks running right now and dwarf chi hlids breeding and its all aqua market stock.

If you are a freshwater enthusiast, go see Michael at Aqua Market. Michael is extremely knowledgeable. I love going "fishing" and Aqua Market is my favourite place in the city. Kind of like the TARDIS (bigger on the inside than on the outside), the selection of healthy fish available is incredible. I get excited about the invertebrates, and Michael has the green tanks for Daphnia (how much fun!), feeder snails, and a great assortment of snails and shrimp.

Very happy to have found a great fish store tucked away behind several commercial businesses in the south end. Super friendly, happy. I wasn’t even going to buy fish. But they had everything i needed to make the 8 hour drive home in the store! They even sold me the batteries for the portable air pump! After experiencing a terrible store just prior to finding these guys, i sure was happy to have found it! Thanks guys. We will see you again!

The staff are always good to me and they always have a different variety of Fish. Call ahead and ask if they have a specific Fisha ND they just might! I had never seen Demon Earth Eaters in person until I went in there. Don't let the layout turn you off, they have a very good selection and do right by most of their animals. I do feel bad for the Piranha though, but I'm sure they're doing their best to be safe for their customers.

Great selection, very clean store, and helpful owner. For what it’s worth at this point in time, the store is loaded with plant stock when other bigger name stores in Edmonton are completely out (tank grown and the 1-2 Grow! cups from Tropica) . Plants seem comparably priced to other stores. Also picked up some super red cherry shrimp and was pleasantly surprised that the owner picked out some females with eggs for me! Thanks!!

Absolutely hands down the BEST aquarium store in Edmonton. A very nice selection of fish stock, live plants and aquarium products that are sure to please! Michael and team are always friendly and helpful with any questions you may have, and for whatever tank size you may have. Great store with all your aquarium hobby needs, and friendly knowledgeable staff! They have a nice variety of freshwater fish, regular and fancy betta fish(including samurai, alien, and galaxy when I was there last), aquatic plants, shrimp, reptiles, and amphibians. They even had some fish that were new to me and that’s a pleasant surprise having been in the hobby a long time myself. I’m looking forward to my next visit here!

Just found this store today and I must say one of the nicest local fish stores I have ever been to. The quality and quantity of live stock available is amazing. The fish are obviously well fed and well quarantined, I would not have any issues buying anything they sell. The shop is small, has only good quality stuff on the shelves and great easy to talk to staff that are obviously not just on the hobbey for the money.

Great little storefront! Has a pretty decent selection of fish, plants and supplies and let us know they're able to order in almost anything we may want. We bought a bunch of guppies and they are all happy and healthy and acclimating well. Very friendly staff! Fish room is in the back of the store so it's bigger than it looks. Also, if you have a low vehicle, be careful in the parking lot as it's quite steep.

I recently visited this fairly new local aquatic fish store, as I was in search of fish medication, and they definitely had some in stock. Very nice and clean environment, the highlight of the store was definitely the fish room!! 5/5 amazing unique healthy fish. The staff were very accommodating and knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend visiting this local fish store for all your fish hobby needs.

One of the best fish stores i’ve found in edmonton, probably just as much if not more selection than big al’s and it’s a tiny storefront. fantastic selection of plants too at great prices. store owners seem eager for you to buy something so if you intend to show up just to look at all the fish, also intend on buying something at least. otherwise fantastic store and i will be back many many times!

I just happened to stumble upon this fish store while having some work done to my car. This store is a little gem nestled in an industrial part of Edmonton South. It’s like a little haven here with all the different exotic fish, frogs and reptiles. The staff was also very helpful and knowledgeable! Searched aquarium fishes online and aqua market popped up. I went for a 40 min drive to check out the place.This place looks so simple yet their fish looked so healthy and lively. The owner/clerk Michael knows so much about plants and fishes, he’ll tell you the do’s and donts of the hobby. Really good for people just starting on the aquarium hobby. 10/10 will come back again

Aqua Market is easily my favourite aquatic pet store in Edmonton. Is it as big as Big Al's? No. But does it have healthier fish, incredibly knowledgeable staff/owners, great customer service, and justifiable prices? Absolutely! If you haven't yet, check this place out. Even just go to look at how healthy and happy their fish look compared to other places around town.

Been there 3 times this week after finding out they existed. We were helped by different people each time and all of them provided excellent customer service. They answered all our questions and recommended fish and plants. Good selection of fish and the fish all seem well cared for. They seem to have a new sale every weekend that they post on their Facebook page!

Love going here! Michael is always so kind and helpful! Has very healthy fish, and I’ve been completely happy with everything I have received! I love this store!! It’s easily the best freshwater aquarium shop in Edmonton! It looks small from the outside but he has tons of livestock, plants, hardscape, food, water treatments and every other item you could need. Then there’s the fact that they are super knowledgeable and always eager to help. It’s a must see for aquarium beginners and experts alike!

Amazing selection of fish (many that I never saw in Edmonton), aquatic plants and very fair prices. Staff very helpful and friendly. Now they expanded selection and they offer basic reptile product like terrariums, food (powders, jello for geckos) and equipment. The owner Michael is very helpful and open to conversation. I highly recommend this store!!!

An employee from big all’s recommended the store to me when I couldn’t find the fish I wanted at big all’s. Aqua mart has nicer fish that look way healthier than big all’s but not quite as many fish. I will not be going back to big all’s as the fish at aqua mart are WaaY healthier and half the price The staff were very patient and kind.

This aquarium store is awesome! The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable about everything in the store including all livestock. On the topic of their livestock, I've never seen clearer water in tanks! This place blows all other similar stores out of the water. Going forward, this will be the only aquarium store I'll be visiting.

Michael was very knowledgeable and helpful. I was able to get the fish I drive 2 hours to find. When I explained to him that it would be another 4 hours before I was able to get them home he quickly double bagged them to ensure they made it home safe. Was a wonderful experience. It was my first time there bur definitely not my last.

The owner is very experienced and knowledgeable with what he does, while having a very polite, kind, and friendly attitude. The variety of the fish and plants are great, with many varieties often overlooked by many of the other stores. It can be a little tricky to find inside the strip mall area, but it is well worth it.

Extremely friendly staff with decades of expertise. They have a selection of very high quality fish and plants, all at very reasonable prices. There are species of fish here I've never seen at other places.I highly recommend this place to anyone from beginners getting into the hobby to veterans with years of experience.

I have been to Aqua Market twice. I bought a number of Ember tetras in April, and honey gouramis, pepper corys and neon tetras in August. All fish have been extremely healthy, and were eating within hours. I consider their stock to be excellent. The service is friendly and knowledgeable. I highly recommend this place!

Absolutely shocked with the wide range of never ending inventory here. All tropical fish, tropical lizards/frogs, stingrays. They have over hundreds of species of fish that they sell here. Great customer service and at a very reasonable price. This is now my go to place to get supplies (food, filters, etc)

Purchased over 100 dollars worth of fish from them, within a few days tank has a massive ick outbreak, and this is definetly not from my exsisting fish. Ive lost multiple fish and continuing to treat the ick.... wasted my money now the treatments of the tank are wasting my time. …

At first glance seems small and with barely any fish, i was about to leave until the man told me about the back room where the fish are almost hidden away. I was amazed at the beautiful fresh water fish. Huge selection and amazing colors!! Im in love with the stingrays!

Michael has a good selection and his prices are good too. It's nice to see that he sells both fish and reptiles. He has a lot of previous experience in the undustry too and is quite a friendly guy. Definitely one of the better places for freshwater fish in the city.

Lovely little LFS tucked away in the south side. They've got a great selection of plants, fish and shrimp. Staff are helpful and informative. They seem like they actually care. As a bonus, if you're lucky, there is sometimes a store puppy who is utterly adorable.

Great, locally owned pet store in Edmonton. The staff are awesome and very knowledgeable. Prices for fish or plants are really good, better than many other options. Not to mention the fish are healthier. They've got the biggest white clouds I've ever seen.

Really like this place. Visited from Calgary with a friend, and got some beautiful shrimp and snails from here. Owner and staff were very helpful, and the aquariums seemed well set-up with healthy animals. I will definitely be back next time I'm in town.

Since this store has opened they have always put so much effort into bringing tons of different species of quality fish in. I have always had no problems with diseases, infections, etc. I highly recommend this place if you're looking for unique fish.

What a great selection of fish and shrimps at least 10 varieties of fresh water shrimp The Sera and Tetra foods are 2nd to none. Pricing is very competitive. Expertise is evident. Appears very stocked for reptiles and live foods.i am going back.

What a fantastic new store! If you're an aquarium nut.. You've got to go! It's not a franchise, most of their fishies are bred in Canada. They had a rough go with the covid, go show them some support! They have an awesome sale on until July 11!

Was a nice surprise being able to add another tropical fish store to my visits to Edmonton. All the fish are healthy and they carry the Sera line of products. Staff were friendly and helpful. Whenever I am in the area I will be sure to visit.

Went to get a few plants and two nerite snails..I ended up the some bonus snails hidden in the plants. It became a total nightmare I am still trying to figure out. Nice enough guy to ask questions, but won't be bringing my business back.

Smaller store than ‘Big Al’, but with much better service and someone who is deeply knowledgeable about fish and aquaculture in general. Doesn’t look as nice, but if you want better service at about the same price, that’s what I chose.

Went there for the first time recently and was rather impressed with the staff and the state of the tanks. It was nice to see the stock looking healthy and NO dead stock floating in the tanks. Thanks for the good expreience guys.

Small shop and the selection is limited, however the owner is nice. The fish are located in the back no saltwater only fresh water and has some reptiles too. Little bit of a parking problem due to limited space otherwise its ok.

Awesome place to shop at, the prices are much lower than any other pet/fish store and they have an amazing selection of fish, shrimps, catfish etc. Lots of different kinds of plants and the staff is great as well, very helpful.

I recently went to this store for the first time. I was really happy with how clean the tanks were and the quality of the fish. I wasn't planning on purchasing any fish but went home with some African cichlids and some guppies.

Aqua Market is my wife's go-to place for her hobby. The staff are incredibly helpful, and she always gets the best advice from the owners ranging from how to care for betta fry through to having a healthy aquarium ecosystem.

I really enjoy going to the LFS. One of my all time favorite. Always unique fish and good prices. The owner is always there to answer questions I have. Great selection of food as well. Would recommend checking it out.

Nice store, it looks small when you walk in but there are big walls of aquariums around the corner from the main entrance. Lots of neat things and good prices. I think it's locally owned? Friendly and helpful.

The Kois are from the wild, violent creatures. They blinded 2 of my over $200 koi and killed another. I called the store to warn them but Michael hung up on me,... not like I was being rude.

Large variety of fish BUT I swear the only clean tank was the for show centre piece. Tonnes of what looked like pest snails in the shrimp tanks. Brown algea on majority of the plant tank.

I always enjoy visiting this store as they have some uncommon stock for reasonable prices. They also post updates on sales or new stock on FB making it easy to keep an eye on new items.

This is by far the best fish store if ever been to! They care for their animals really well, it’s amazing. I got plants and a culture of grindle worms for cheap, I 100% recommended!!

Wow!! This place is great and has a huge selection of fresh water fish and plants!! The staff us extremely knowledgeable and so helpful with choosing the right additions to our tank.

An excellent fish store. Staff is wonderful and helpful, prices are reasonable, and the livestock is varied and awesome. Definitely one of my favorite aquarium shops in the city.
