Location: good if you are exploring the historic Central and all the museums and the art museum across the street. Which may be a few nights. Cleanliness: the toilets, showers, beds and sheets are surprisingly clean. However your feet get black from walking through the hostel. The kitchen fridges haven't been cleaned out in a long time I presume? For the low amount of visitors when were there, they were packed. And the kitchen doesn't have basic things like a can opener but it has nice induction stoves and some basic pots. More pots would be nice esp when more people are cooking. Sound: this is the biggest con of this hostel, we moved out to miraflores for the rest of our Lima stay because we got sick of all the noise all around you. The wrap around French courtyards are charming but it means in an old building it's surround sound.. People were hanging outside our room with their cellphones on loud talking, the rooftop bar would blast music until 1am then people would be talking outside our room in the early morning.. And it's in a high honking zone of Lima, it's just so loud. The football table was really loud and we could hear it in our bedroom at 2am. We were looking foreward to getting out by the end This is more of a party hostel, not for the quiet backpacker. The roof top bar with its bar type music is very audible and annoying for the twin bedrooms. Great just for one or two nights not 2 weeks. Looks: very beautiful old building with a cool vibe and nice touches. And cool facilities- airport pick-up, free breakfast, yoga classes, ceviche classes.. Also a fan of the walls of information to introduce you to the food culture, activities in Lima and history of tge building. The old architects table and hung plants are very nice touches.

This place is huge and astoundingly beautiful. Gorgeous architecture. The front desk staff are super friendly and helpful and it’s always clean here. The bathrooms are really nice and showers are excellent. We stayed in the queen room and it was stunning. Well worth it for the price. The room included a large floor space, a huge spacious bed, a private full bathroom, a large tv with directTV, a nice writing desk and a balcony (inaccessible). This is nicest room we stayed in through all of Peru, by a large margin. It was hotel quality. The breakfast is really good and the bar area is cool to hangout in - best pool table I’ve come across in Peru so far and lots of board games available for chill out time. The rooftop terrace is beautiful with a large kitchen, artificial grass space for chilling/yoga and some nice couches for hanging out/smoking. The resident doggo is also super friendly and fun and mostly lives on the terrace. The only downside is the location. I personally hate Lima downtown - it’s extremely busy and congested and loud and not very convenient - it’s hard to find fresh produce and everything is quite far away. The traffic around here is also horrendous. I stayed in Miraflores prior to this and it was definitely a “nicer” place for tourists and way more convenient in almost every away. The upside to the location is there are lots of affordable restaurants nearby including a great vegetarian Indian menu restaurant a five minute walk away. If you want to stay in Lima Downtown, definitely stay here!

checked in first day without water, I saw a guy with just towel over his lower body, I guessed he was in mid of shower when water was out. without any warning sign from the hostel owner. 2nd date was out of internet service, a cluster of people were asking front desk when internet is back, they just couldn't handle. the Staff at the Breakfast bar were yelling at people that guests were taking too much of this and that. Well, if the hostel boss doesn't want to have more than a breadroll or a drink to each guest, they should have not displayed as bar style to confuse people, shaming people in early morning. Something wrong with the hostel, I don't think I will come back this hostel again even thought the building looks nice, By the way, the rooftop kitchen is extremely filthy & lack of dishes, utensils etc for use, sorry, its filthy even they have those stuff, you don't want to use, if you are thinking to cook own meals, forget it. Cleanliness: I found a long blonde hair in my bed, wonder if they wash the sheets well. public are is clean. Service: no comment, just saw 2 girls at the front desk only can handle check in and out. location: center, but very noisy as expected. 20 mins walk to the historic area. Traffic is extremely terrible.

It was the worse of my experience of staying the hostels. I was kicked out because of I witnessed them that didnt change bed sheets after people checkout, they only re-arrange the bed sheets, I was in the room whole time when the cleaning people was making the beds, I was there for 3 nights already, i knew who were checking out. The hostel manager blamed me that I was not polite, and I was the only person who is giving them trouble. people are not comfortable with me! I threatened them to give the bad review! I wonder if the owner ever know people working there these staff. I asked to talk to the owner, i was not allowed, I told them checking the camera recording, if I ever gave people trouble, I would move out without refund! The manager would not check. He just want me to shut up . However, I am posting the review here just to let people know you are at your own risk if you stay this hostel. the Manger dictates how people write the review. I believe people has the right to know the truth. I was there from 4/25/2022 to 4/28/2022. I just realised that they canceled my Hostel booking, so I am not able to write a review at HOSTELWORLD, where i booked my stay.

We checked in at around 3 am in the morning, the front desk lady was very helpful and friendly, she helped us to settle down and made sure we are comfortable in our room and answered all of our questions. The room was decent, it was pretty warm and stuffy at first though, but there was a big window in our room, it became nice and cool once we opened the window. It was a different group of staff on the next day, they were extremely helpful as well! They made you feel really welcomed, which is really important for a hostel. The washroom facility could improve a little bit, but overall it was pretty clean. There was a roof party during our stay, which was really nice! Nice vibes and cool people, a good thing about that was the party ended at around midnight, which we can still get a good sleep and prepare for the next day. Another good thing about this hostel is its location. However, it is also its downside. It's located in the centre of the city, which means very crowded and lots of traffic. We felt a little unsafe walking on the street and constantly worried about our belongings. After talking with my friend who is local in Lima, he says that area isn't the best location for female travellers.

The hotel and rooms are amazing and have great location. I'd like to express my discomfort only particularly during breakfast service. Despite ordering an American breakfast, the experience was subpar. Initially, there was a delay in receiving our orders—one omelet arrived after a 10-minute wait, followed by the avocado toast another 10 minutes later, and a single cup of juice for two people. Subsequently, it took an additional 8 minutes to bring the cutlery, bread, and bowl of fruit. The coffee served was disappointingly cold, and to add to the frustration, our order was mistakenly sent to another table. Given the limited number of patrons, it seemed perplexing that such a basic order could be confused. I found myself repeatedly requesting the complete service and urging for all items to be brought together. Overall, the breakfast experience left much to be desired.

I stayed in the shared 10-bed room at the 1900 Hostel for about 2 months, in between my travels in South America, and I can't say enough wonderful things about it. The basics.. The hostel was always clean, it was spacious, the bed was comfortable, there were more than enough toilets and showers, there are many activities available, I always felt that I, and my possessions, were safe there, etc etc. I stayed in a few different hostels around Lima and this, by far, was the best one. What really made this hostel unique for me was the staff. After staying there for as long as I did, they began to feel more like family than just people working in a hostel that I was staying in. From the owner, to the front desk staff, to houskeeping and the bar staff.. Everyone was really great. Carlos, Lorraine and Santiago were absolute gems. They went above and beyond in every way. They are truly great employees and, more importantly, great people. I really can't thank them enough. I absolutely 100% recommend this hostel if you are staying in Lima. Trust me, you won't find anything better.

Es una casona muy linda en pleno centro de Lima, tomamos una habitación para 3 personas, a pesar de estar ubicada en una calle con mucho tránsito, pudimos descansar placenteramente ya que el ruido de la calle no se escuchó en ningún momento en la habitación, el agua estaba muy caliente, el desayuno está perfecto en cuanto a la relación calidad-precio, tiene unos extra básicos, pero igual de bien, el personal es amable y es chevere que te dejen usar las áreas comunes antes del check in y después del check out y encargar tu equipaje. Habían artículos de la época colonial, y un libro Atlas antiguo que nos gustó, porque encontramos fotos del terremoto de 1970.

Stayed in a private for two nights while in Lima. Overall (4/5): Definitely a good hostel and they have lots of information available for tourists. My friends and I signed up for a ceviche making class, which was so much fun! Rooms (4/5): Room 15 is cursed because it’s right next to their stairwell, which encases their water heater and it roars all day/night. Seriously, it’s super hard to get some good sleep from this room. I moved to room 9A for the second night, which was much better. Wifi (4/5): Stable enough to do everything I needed to do. The signal is less strong near the back of the hostel but it’s pretty good at the front. Amenities (4/5): Kitchen/bar on the rooftop. The utensils aren’t great but it gets the job done. The whole top floor is home to some cute kitties, and I think I saw a tattoo parlor too(?). There’s a pool table and fuse ball available to play. Overall, a good experience.

Me quede aquí por varias noches para conocer la ciudad y su cultura, la ubicación del lugar es muy bueno ya que desde el centro puedes conectar a todas partes de la ciudad. La atención del personal muy buena y amable me ayudaron con guardar mi maleta las veces que necesite, tienen un espacio para cuando uno solo va a dejar su maleta que ayuda mucho, los espacios en general muy amplios y cómodos. El desayuno bueno para iniciar el día con una bebida caliente. La habitación amplia con espacio para guardar la maleta muy amplio. Los baños amplio y como. No pude hacer uso del bar entonces nada que decir sobre esto. Sobre la limpieza en el cuarto se pudiera mejorar mas donde tiene personas que tiene largas estadías. Se puede mejorar la limpieza de los baños. En general la limpieza del sitio 8.5/10.

Reservamos habitacio con cama doble y baño privado. Lo único bueno la cama amplia y comoda y la recepcionista que atendio nuestra reserva el primer dia. Lo demás fatal. Nuestro baño no tenia papel ni toallas ni jabon y tuvimos que mendigarles dos veces que nos dieran toallas. El lavabo estaba fuera del baño, y el espejo estaba en una pared aleatoria donde no pintaba nada y sin enchufe cerca. Por lo tanto afeitarse o plancharse o secarse el pelo era super incomodo por no decir imposible. Ventanas altisimas de las que cuelga una cadena y que no se pueden cerrar, entra todo el ruido y el frio por ahi. Los recepcionistas bordes y nada serviciales, en especial uno de moño que le dijo a mi compañero de viaje que si era tonto por haberse dejado olvidadas su gafas en recepcion. En resumen: no vayas

Love the area so much. Also easy to catch a bus if you don’t feel like walking. Building is gorgeous but inside is normal. Beds are comfy and have a comfy goose feather comforter. Not all beds have charging ports nor do they have curtains. I wish they had information about where to go or what to eat when I asked reception they told me they don’t anything about the area. Wi-Fi in rooms wasn’t the best which was upsetting.

Low value for the price. 1. The majority of rooms have no windows facing outside. Ours had windows facing the entrance and reception. Windows were open and so high that we couldn't close them. There was a constant 24h noise of people entering/leaving. 2. They accept cash only and the ATM downstairs haa high taxes for withdrawals. 3. The taxi to the airport does not cost S/40 as they insist. I asked them explicitly in advance if the cost for taxi to the airport will be indeed S/40 and no more and they confirmed. Of course in the morning the price was higher. 4. The toilets have low walls and you can have eye contact with your neighbor.

Cheap great location but noisy Pros: Great location - only a 15 minute walk from the historic city centre. It is a hostel, but we had the on suite for circa US$30 for one night. So great value for money. The shower was powerful and the room was very clean. They have a tour guide information desk and an ATM in the Hostel. Cons: Breakfast was not premium. A piece of bread with one jam and one butter and a spoonful of scrambled eggs from a big pot. But it will do for a traveller that is not too picky. The rooms window was to the main road which is soooooo noisy. The card machine was broken when we arrived. As this was our first night it was inconvenient to have to get cash out so soon.

El staff fue muy simpatico y atento. Tienen un servicio de tours con un guia local (Christian) que es de mucha ayuda y buenas recomendaciones. Elegi este hostel de forma casual por la cercania a una conferencia a la que asistia y fue una estadia placentera, ademas descubri el centro de Lima, las grandes avenidas, la arquitectura colonial, museos, plazas e iglesias. El hostel ofrece desayuno incluido en el bar de abajo, que ademas tiene unas pizzas de lo mejor que he probado fuera de Italia.

Un lugar tranquilo en un día martes que fui, la atención estuvo aceptable, pero pudo estar mejor, sobre todo en la información que se brinda, ya que no respondían a las llamadas. La cama que ocupé estaba con equipaje cuando ya había pagado por ella en la mañana, por lo que demoraron un poco en ubicarme esa noche, el lugar es solo una cama en dónde dormir para las personas que están de paso y no son extranjeros. El desayuno es aceptable para el precio: café, jugo de papaya, pan tostado y porciones de mantequilla, mermelada y miel.

The beds were really nice and ok facilities. The staff though were really not welcoming and at times even rude, unless you were one of the volunteers at the hostel. Was in the bathroom and saw one of the staff(one working with food) come out of the toilet stalls and not wash hands. We wanted to order food and was told it’s first at 7pm which is totally fine, when we came back we were totally ignored and stood at the bar for 10 min while staff members walk in and out of the kitchen very clearly noticing us, just ignoring it, so we decided to go somewhere else.

The 1900, central located so you can reach all the sightseeings around in cosy distance. It is clean ! Rare to see such a clean hostel. Toilets showers everything regularly cleaned often. The prices are fair and the personal is friendly. Greetings to Christian the man of Cuba Libre. Visit the rooftop-bar. For Backpackers perfekt place. Distance from airport is about 11 km. Tipp: Taxi should cost not more than 20$ (Airport -> Hostel1900). Don’t pay more !

Bien situado en un lugar con buena comunicacion, buses, etc, pensado por y para mochileros de cualquier edad. El hostel está en un edificio muy bonito, la terraza es genial y el personal es muy amable. En las habitaciones hace mucho calor pero tienen ventiladores. Al baño compartido le vendría bien una reforma pero lo limpian a menudo. Calidad precio está bastante bien.

Great place to meet people. Good value for your money. Lovely staff. Was received with warmth and the building itself is amazing. Situated near the old town and has a good public transport connection with the Miraflores district (it’s about a 30 min bus ride), where you spend most of your time. Special shout out to Chris. Excellent place to stay.. They have dorms and separate rooms, we opted for the separate rooms.They have a nice rooftop bar at the top and they arrange for free walking tours. Many main centers are located close-by and are easily accessible. Real Plaza mall is 5 mins walk away which sorts out your food requirements if you are a foreigner. The only downside is construction that happens at night in the main road which might hinder your sleep.

Great hostel!! I especially love the old building and the styling which are really good. Also they have a lot of activities which you can attend and seem to put effort into making you have a nice stay. Breakfast is good, nice roof top bar. Also the location is perfect, in the historical centre and close to bus terminals going to almost anywhere in Peru. Way better than the hostels we stayed in in Miraflores / Barranco, as you see more of the real Lima and don’t have to take hourly long taxis everywhere

Muy buen hostal para hospedarse en Lima, estábamos de paso y decidimos quedarnos ahí. Fue una experiencia muy grata, buena ubicación, buen servicio (no por todos los trabajadores) ambiente amigable y camas cómodas. Lo que si, el lugar decía que tenia cocina compartida pero al llegar no estaba en funcionamiento por lo que no fue muy grato ya que teníamos planeado cocinar y ahorrar dinero para no comer afuera.

This was a great hostel for me to stay at my first couple nights in Lima. They offer taxi pickup from the airport which is nice after a long flight, as well as many activities at the hostel to engage in with others. The free breakfast is great and includes yogurt, jello, bread, cereal, and several drink options. You can get stuff like eggs and French toast as well for PEN. The staff here are also great and very friendly. I will definitely be back again next time I’m In Lima!

wonderful building, comfortable bed, veranda sitting accessible from dining room allows for lots of people watching. overpriced bike tours, 40 American in Lima is just that. location is an hour and half walk to beach, 40 minutes to plaza de Armas, gypsy cabs available for a couple of dollars, they'll be the guys constantly honking their horns looking for fares. all considered, an excellent spot.

Staff was SUPER nice, but that's it. Besides a 7 street lane, so super loud. You get the choice of a loud room or a hot one! Kitchen hasn't been deep cleaned in years probably. Location isn't good either, the museum close by aren't the interesting ones. Their laundry service managed to lose some of my stuff, and give me something that belongs to someone else.

Wonderful and friendly staff! They make it feel like a 2nd home very quickly. I recommend staying at least a few days and to sign up for some of the activities they provide. I wanted to stay longer and hope to return. Cool building with a great common area that invites you to befriend fellow travelers. Also has a great location close to the heart of Lima and felt very safe.

The hostel is BEAUTIFUL, and in an excellent location. We were able to walk almost everywhere we wanted to go. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and they offer classes on local culture. We took a Ceviche cooking class with Santiago, an excellent chef and instructor, and thoroughly enjoyed the company, the experience, and the cuisine. Thank you again!

Comparando el precio del hostal contra lo que ofrecen lo recomiendo mucho, se encuentra en una zona céntrica donde puedes desplazarte fácilmente. Las zonas compartidas como baños y pasillos están muy limpios. Los cuartos también muy limpios, con temperatura agradable y con buen mantenimiento. El personal tiene excelente actitud, lo recomiendo ampliamente.

Lugar muy bonito por dentro, cuenta con habitaciones amplias y lo mejor de todo son las actividades que se pueden realizar, desde yoga hasta ir en bicicleta.

Staff were very friendly & helpful, nothing was too much to assist. The rooms were clean with very comfortable beds. The hot water was amazing. Breakfast was basic & option to purchase additional items at reasonable prices. I took part in the walking tour which was good just longer than expected. Would definitely stay here again when I'm back in Lima.

We had a great time in this hostel, super-friendly staff and a nice bar just out of the door. They offer also walking tours. Our guide Christian was very kind and showed us around the city with profound knowledge of the local history, in the end we got treated with delicious pisco sour

Un hostal ideal para backpackers. Súper buen ambiente, muy bien ubicado, muchas opciones al viajero y el sitio es precioso. Nos atendió genial Colo para realizar las gestiones y el Ceviche tour con Christian también fue la caña! Lo recomiendo!

Maravilloso lugar, instalaciones con estilo, y cercano al centro de Lima, a parques, plazas, comercio y un mall. Y el mejor desayuno que me he servido en un Hostal.

This place was so great. It's a little sanctuary in the madness of central Lima. Beautiful old building, friendly staff, daily activities. Both shared and private rooms looked nice. Guac for breakfast was delicious. Don't miss the rooftop, and if you have 1-2 hours to spare, visit the museum across the street as it was very nice.

Hostel is well located. Breakfast was really good. However, the rooms are quite old, wifi didn't work in the rooms and it was very unstable and the hostel is very noisy, you can hear everything from the room.

Nice enough. Hostel is right by a very busy street, meaning it is very loud and can be tricky to sleep. Very clean and staff are helpful, with a nice rooftop terrace, but had to mark it down for how loud it was. Restaurant next door was lovely, with really good pizza

This is such an interesting place. It's not glamorous but the architecture is gorgeous. The facilities are basic but functional. The staff though is what earned this 5 star review. The front desk is always doubled staffed during peak times so never had to wait for assistance. Friendly and helpful. Great bar tender too!

I enjoyed my time at the hostel, other than the fact that they were painting, and the fumes were really strong. The location is great with the museums and parks across the street. The kitchen was pretty small for a place that size. Lima wasn't my favorite place in Peru, but the hostel itself is fine.

Great hostel I would recommend staying here. The crew is hardworking and always paying attention to the monitors which you can go in at any time. The bike staff is good and they took me on a nice ride around the nicer area of the city. The location here is almost right in the middle. Nice hostel

We had a lovely stay! The dorms are roomy, central location, the staff is friendly, and the city tour by Christian was great Only con, apparently common in Peru: no filtered water and no option to buy a refill, so you can either buy more and more plastic or boil water, which we did.…

Great service, low prices, secure, super daily programs. This old building is functional and cool and has a kind of a rough petina. We loved the free ceviche "cooking" program with the hostel cook -- we went to the market to buy the ingredients and prepared and enjoyed a great lunch.

Friendly staff, nice bar, lots of optional activities. Could have been a little cleaner, especially the shared bathrooms. It‘s situated at a big street, lot‘s of air pollution. Not the best area if you want to explore Lima by foot, except for the old city center.

Personally it was my favorite hostel in Lima. The building was very classy with enough space. The staffs here are super friendly. Only downfall is very limited options of breakfast. If you look for locating outside of Miraflores, this will be great one for you.

Great place to stay in Lima. rooms ans bathrooms are very clean. The building is amazing and is a sight on its own. The cafe area is great and you can meet awesome fellow travellers. We found the location also very convenient to visit Lima's old town

A lovely refuge from the hustle and bustle. Comfortable and calm, but still a scene on site if you're looking for that. Friendly staff. Good dinner at the bar! It was nice to stay in a part of Lima other than upscale Miraflores; felt more authentic.

Friendly and helpful staff. Nice clean rooms with comfortable beds and hot water in the showers. The building itself is beautiful, the bar area is nice too. The laundry service is expensive and can run late, not ideal if you're pressed for time.

Excellent experience. All areas are clean. Staff is friendly and welcoming. Beds are comfortable and clean. Fun classes and tours. Rooftop area has two friendly cats. Met amazing people here. Would recommend to anyone.

I love this hostel. There is alot of room here. The staff is amazing and do a great job I'm very impressed. Breakfast in the morning and a rooftop bar at night. There are many places of interest nearby.
