DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY if you value your personal belongings. I hired 2 Burley Men for my move in Calgary in May 2023. I phoned around to ensure that I was hiring a company that had the expertise and equipment to move both my fitness equipment and my beloved upright piano. This was clearly noted on my booking, as was the need to bring tools. I had felt very confident after talking to Robin, who booked my move. The crew arrived late on moving day and appeared disorganized from the beginning. More than once I was asked for advice on how to take apart my furniture. More than once all three of them were standing around in the same room while one person tried to take something apart. While trying to take the bars off of my treadmill, I was approached and asked if I had a wrench. This is a very basic tool that they should have had. Of course I had a wrench… in my toolbox, on their truck. When it couldn’t be retrieved, I was asked if I could “go to the dollar store and buy them one”. Um… no. The final straw for me was the piano. I have had my grandmother’s upright Yamaha for 39 years. I stood in the doorway of my new home and watched in horror as they struggled with it and then DROPPED IT ON THE PAVEMENT. It landed keys first, making a gut wrenching sound and breaking both pedals completely off. The crew picked it up, and told me they were sorry but it could “probably be fixed with some epoxy”. I was told to file a claim. I was devastated. Upon contacting Cheryl in claims, I discovered that my full and final reimbursement would be $168. This is less than what it will cost to tune my piano after it was dropped, much less repair the damage. I am disgusted. A company of this size should be able to offer some appropriate recourse after breaking a high value item, especially when the damage was due to negligence on behalf of their crew. I am appalled at this company’s service from every department. Wish I could give zero stars. Do not hire them. **EDITING MY REVIEW TO ADD FURTHER UPDATE** After receiving the response from the owner that they were taking this seriously and would like to "make it right", I was encouraged that appropriate action would be taken. Upon contacting the claims department, however, it was clear that they did not want to truly make it right. They just wanted me to go away. I was asked to provide a quote for professional repairs, which I did. The claims department told me that they would consider it IF I REMOVED MY GOOGLE REVIEW. Further, they offered to reimburse only a portion of what the quote recommended, denying the rest. Ultimately, I decided to refuse the partial refund on principle because I don't think that being coerced into removing my truthful review is worth $200 additional dollars of reimbursement. I would much rather leave my review up in hopes that nobody else will choose this company to trust with their valued belongings.

November 2, 2023 BE AWARE and VERY CAREFUL. This company DOES NOT APPEAR to BE INSURED. Based on our experience with our long-haul delivery this company is NOT insured and they will take no responsibility for any damage they caused to your personal belongings. Our damage was very similar to that illustrated in Jodies review. Several pieces of our furniture arrived either very dirty, damaged or broken. Our damage will be at least $4K and they offered $395. Contrary to their comment in response to Jodies review they will make no attempt to make things right so don't believe them. The information provided up front is almost non-existent. They make a guesstimate based on a telephone call as to your costs based on a few questions. I offered to send pictures to assist with their quote but they said no thank you and then when our belongings arrived, they had increased our costs by 60% and also attempted to add on an additional $900 in fees. BE CAREFUL. They tell you that each load is weighed at a scale which may be true but it is almost impossible to verify the weight of your load based on the weigh tickets provided. They advertise that payment for the project is due on delivery but in fact they hold you ransom and will NOT deliver anything until you make full payment and based on the end result, I can understand why they demand the payment upfront. I would seriously look for another option. PS - based on response - Based on our experience there was no evidence of insurance coverage on the personal belongings of your clients that you damaged . I was not presented with anything regarding insurance before the move nor do I have any documentation/form that I signed before the move. The info I did see did say that payment was on delivery. Delivery to me by definition is when the goods are in my hands not in your truck. I have had moved goods actually delivered and then made payment.

***will not be hiring again*** Booked for 3 movers to help me pack and move about 800sqr ft of home from Red Deer to Edmonton. Received my confirmation email stating 8am arrival. By 8:30 am still no movers, I called and the said they were leaving the yard (in Edmonton) at 8 not arriving at 8am in Red Deer. 3 hrs later they finally show up. The movers were friendly during packing and all went good …till we got to Edmonton. We start moving things into the apartment in Edmonton and on the second load they let me know they had left the service key in the elevator and someone had taken it. My landlord was there and informed me this would cost me $100 to replace the key. Then once the landlord left the head mover/driver tried to hit me up to pay some of the bill in cash for a lesser fee. The driver was trying to skim off the top. When I said I had no cash he said I could e transfer. I said no again and that I wanted it all on the bill. After that I got the cold shoulder from the movers and no courtesy. They just loaded everything in the kitchen and when I asked for something to be moved they acted as if it was a big inconvenience. I emailed the service manager asking about the key and I got a very short email back saying I was liable for the key and the $100 deposit. I then called the service manager and explained all my concerns including the driver asking for cash. She just asked for a copy of the bill and said she would look into it and it was not possible for the driver to take cash from a job because all the trucks have GPS. There was no apology nor sympathy. I explained how it was just me and my two very young children and how uncomfortable I felt and how I will be looking for a different mover next time. I was half hoping for a phone call back with a apology or something but no. Very disappointed.

We used 2 Burley Men Moving Ltd. to move us from Kelowna BC to High River AB. The 2 young men who loaded our 2 bedroom condo in Kelowna were nice enough but it took them over 9 hours to load our furniture which we had boxed and ready to go, aside from the larger pieces. To hurry them along myself and my husband helped them load and it still took over 9 hours. Our furniture was put in storage for a couple of weeks. The 2 guys who moved our furniture to High River were excellent. They loaded our furniture from storage .. drove it to High River and unloaded it in about 6 hours total. However there were several missing items and quite a few damaged items. We were not pleased. While our furniture was in storage, I called Earl (who I had been dealing with to arrange our move) and told him we were not happy with the service provided in Kelowna and how long it took. Earl called me and was very angry. He was yelling at me over the phone and telling me that those 2 young men give nothing but 5 star service and if it takes 9 hours then that's how long it takes. I explained that I thought that amount of time was unprofessional. He blew up at that and would not let me speak. I sent him an email (after we received our furniture lol) and told him what I thought of him and his company. Needless to say I would never recommend this company. Not necessarily because of how long it took but because of the way Earl (who is Earl Burley by the way) spoke to me over the phone.

I have moved internationally and moved houses at least over 10 times in my life, but this has been the worst move I ever had. From BC to AB First, they don't schedule an specific time. They give you a 2-3 days window to pick up 3-4 days to deliver later. And this is all according to THEIR convenience, never the clients. Moving day; they called to change the time a total of 5 times from 2:00pm to 4:00pm, to 7:00pm, then, to the next day. The next day again, from 9:00am to 10:30am My boxes were labelled, heavy, this side up, do not stack, fragile, etc.. They were fast and loaded everything in 2 hours or so. But guess what? They don't care if you have fragile items in your boxes. They need to make sure they truck uses every single little square footage. BECAUSE ITS ABOUT THEM, NOT THE CLIENT. Delivery day was the same thing. We didn't know what day they were coming. We waited patiently. Slept in a hotels all the nights waiting for them to show up! And again, they changed the delivery time/day 2 times again. When things arrived, it wasn't the same truck. So, they moved things from one truck to a warehouse and then to another truck. Many things were damaged, my dining table was completely broken, I only took a few pictures, but things inside boxes were broken, glasses broken, etc.. They only gave us like $300 back for repairs, from a $4500 bill nightmare. I will NOT recommend them. What a horrible horrible experience.

DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT use this company to move. Not only was this the worst moving experience it was the worst experience I have ever had with any company. If you read all the 1 star reviews they are all the same. Over charged and terrible communication with zero accountability. We hired them for our move from AB to BC and they overcharged us thousands of dollars from what we were quoted. Our stuff was in storage with them, and they tripled the price from what we were originally quoted and when we called at 6 months to check in and possibly move our stuff to a different storage unit, the customer service rep told us we were being charged $200 for the first 6 mo and $350 for every month after, when in actuality we were being charged $700. WHO PAYS $700 A MONTH FOR STORAGE?! When we schedule them to arrive the day we took possession, we called 5 days before to confirm (for the second time) and they said they had no record of our move in their books. The rep proceeded to belligerently yell and swear at my husband. Our stuff was a week late and it took calling daily to ensure it arrived. They held our stuff hostage until we paid them. My mother also used them at the same time we were moving, and the amount of damage that was caused to her items is unfathomable. Use any other company, these people are crooks.

Please, just don’t even listen to the “good reviews” ESPECIALLY if you’re moving long distance. I have talked to absolutely no one that has had a positive experience from this company, everyone cringes when I tell them who we had hired. Literal gaslighting crooks. Absolutely no communication. Damaged and broken furniture, while taking little to no responsibility. The price by weight is an absolute scam. Instead of 2 burley men, you get 1 skinny conspiracy theorist that has to load and unload all of your stuff by himself, leaving room for more damage to happen- who also mentions “the farther you go, the more stuff gets damaged”. Maybe do the job you’re paid so much for and that wouldn’t just be the rule of thumb. They take absolutely no responsibility for anything, because you have to sign that your stuff is in good condition and pay before you see it BECAUSE THATS THEIR POLICY. We’ve had to replace/hire people to fix all our furniture. After leaving a review with the BBB I have zero clue how they are still in business because they have a 1.38/5 on there. Just please do not give these crooks your money or your belongings too “take care of”. (Not picture is a completely smashed to pieces coffee table and broken office wheeled drawer)

We'll start with the positives. The two men they sent were friendly and accommodating. The truck was more than enough size to pack all our belongings in. They were good with fragile items, so far in the unpacking process we've found no damages. Onto what I found to be negative. First things first, this was my first experience hiring professional movers, so I may not have any idea how the process goes. I hired movers to speed up the process. Maybe I had an overabundance of stuff, but at the 6th hour of moving out of a 2 bed 1 bath, I told them to stop and I'll handle the rest. I felt the service to be slow. At the 12th hour I got a little fed up with the progress and we helped them finish moving us in. The entire move I wondered if I was supposed to help them or if that took hours from them, but they wanted to go home and I cannot blame them. Bottom line, professionalism was good, but what it cost, how long it took, and the fact we only finished moving out 4 days after the movers were done leaves a tad bitter taste. I don't feel I got my money's worth overall.

This is the worst moving company you could possibly hire. Showed up late. Forgot possessions, damaged the possessions they did remember. Movers loading the truck were obviously under the influence and movers unloading the truck moved at a snails pace. After six hours of watching them unload the truck, I ended up moving the entirety of the boxed items into the house. They misplaced hardware for multiple items they dismantled and had no issues blaming myself for their faults. When dealing with the claims manager they offered a measly 6% of the cost of the damage (which I accepted by the way because I would rather eat a box full of nails then speak to anyone at this company ever again). Told me countless times a manager would be calling me and never did. I can see why this company was sued over 54 times in 2022 alone. Not one individual I dealt with within this company possessed a single customer facing attribute. I would trust my belongings travelling interprovincially with a horse buggy over 2 Burley Men.

Horrifying service. Hired them to move maybe 15 boxes, a filing cabinet, and a desk. They did not pick up OR deliver on the arranged dates and times, a day late on either end and no communication, I had to call them both times. One of their movers texted me at 9am to let me know he was too drunk to work. I complained to head office about this and Cheryl said “what do you want me to do, give you a discount? It’s not happening.” I was so thrown off by that and they way she spoke to me, I was anticipating her to have questions about her drunk long haul driver, but no concern at all on her end. Four items arrived damaged and after providing Cheryl a $200+ receipt and proof of damage she offered me $84. I told her that is not going to cut it and she told me too bad and she didn’t care. No ownership for the damage, or (more horrifyingly) the drunk long haul driver. Such a shady & unethical business. I paid over $1700 for this absolute garbage service and damaged goods. Never again.

This was 3rd experience with 2 Burly Men in the last 5 months. The first two were excellent and the reason I chose to use a third time. My girlfriend and I had moved 95 % of the boxes prior to our move. I felt that both loading and unloading the guys were dragging their feet. There was no sense of let’s get this done like the first 2 moves. So I felt it dragged out about an hour or more. Then at at end of loading, there was no ask if that was everything? The kitchen counter had boxes still to move. There was also a fibreglass lawn ornament. I was told it wouldn’t fit. There was lots of room for all of the left overstuff. It was like ok it’s 3 hours, we have had enough. I had to move the last stuff myself. The unloading usually goes quickly. Not on this move. Didn’t find either of the two men overly friendly. I asked questions and tried a conversation. Given this last move, I wouldn’t use the company again.

The move was scheduled for 9:00 am on May 14. The team arrived at precisely 9:00 am and proceeded to quickly but completely review the overall job requirements with me. The team members, Ash and Denis, immediately got to work. They wrapped all items with care and, after loading all the boxes, carefully and very professionally moved all my furnishings into their truck. They worked non-stop preparing everything and completing the loading process. Once at my new place, the unloading and placement processes were completed smoothly and flawlessly. All in all, the team completed the work efficiently and provided a top-notch effort with no breaks or delays in their routine. Based on my experience, I highly recommend 2 Burley Men Moving - Calgary and, in particular, the team who completed the job. Excellent work!

If I could give negative stars I would. March 2022 2 Burley Men loaded my belongings on a truck and kept them for 2 weeks when they had promised max 5 days. When my things were finally delivered, I was not only charged $1000 more than the estimate, I discovered $12,000 of items were missing, and every antique I did get back was either damaged, broken, scratched or mouldy due to long term water exposure. Sentimental items including those belonging to my deceased son were collateral losses. I was robbed while my possession were in the care and control of 2 Burley Men. My items were exposed to water and mistreated. My only consolation was that I just sued 2 Burley Men & won! Do not hire this company if you value your possessions.

I have moved over a dozen times in my life. Working with 2 Burley Men was the best moving company we have ever worked with! They were super professional, helpful and they were quick and got our stuff moved with no damage. I will definitely use them again, and I will highly recommend them for any move. The call center guys are super professional and knowledgeable, and they are the friendliest guys around. CJ & Adam are the best! Definitely request them if you want organized professionals moving your stuff with plenty years of experience. They have a system and know how to get in and out and move your things! Keep doing what you're doing guys!

2Burly Men came through for me on a last minute booking as my first movers bailed on me! They took great care in preparing my furniture and fragile pictures to be sent to their storage. I wasn’t quite done packing my belongings and they did what they could and helped all they could to get the job done! I was very impressed with their hard work and how smoothly and swiftly they accomplished the job! Would definitely recommend them for any move! As I will use them and recommend them to my friends and family in the future. Their prices are quite competitive and came in well below the original company I had hired! We hired your company 2 Burley Men and we had a pod packed and numerous items moved to a different city. We had movers Ash, Matthew and Omar today. I have moved lots and had terrible experiences. I can tell you these 3 were the most professional and best guys I've ever experienced. They represented the company beyond what a company could ask for. Hired these guys for a 1/2 bedroom apartment move, as far as I can tell only 1 item was damaged, it was the edge of one of my dressers. Sadly I didn’t notice this until I got my dresser moved into its permanent home. They were pretty quick and took direction well - Just be prepared for extra fees if you’re moving long distance (that goes for every moving company though). If you need movers quickly, I’d recommend these folks, just make sure to take extra measures on packing so your furniture doesn’t get damaged like mine did.

I have moved around the province a lot over the last 10 years and used many different moving companies. 2Burley men have by far been the best moving company I have ever used. They responded to my online request form working 2 days and I was able to book a move from central Alberta to southern Alberta within 1 week of talking with them. They were very careful with the furniture I moved, which included a 700lb upright grand piano, and there was no damage to any furniture or walls. I will definitely use them again!

I recently moved from Kamloops, BC to Airdrie, AB. Like with any move there was some immediate challenges from my side, but when dealing with the office guys (Josh or Earl) they had immediate solutions. Come move day, the guys took great care of everything, both loading and unloading. Communication providing customer assurances was also at a high level. At the end of the day, everything went better than expected... all my worries were quickly resolved by the professionalism of this company. Thank you!

Such a wonderful and amazing experience! We just moved from Vancouver to Calgary. Albert and Gavin where fantastic! Albert communicated throughout the entire journey. They showed up at the new place a few days before schedule. They even took the time to wrap and blanket up alot of our expensive items. Which we didn't even ask them to. Even put down blankets at the new house to make sure they didn't damage anything.

We were so pleased with our experience with Two Burly Men! We had a rare snow event in October which made the conditions miserable and Tristen & CJ were thoughtful and considerate of our belongings. They worked so hard to ensure that great care was given. I really can’t say enough about how fantastic they were. I highly recommend this company as they were great to do business with.

We had hired them for moving from a 2 bedroom apartment. The crew comprised of Ash and Denys. They did an amazing job - They were punctual, hard working and clearly communicated the plan. They took initiative to extra care to wrap delicate stuff and were professional in their demeanour. Very good value for our money. Will definitely recommend and use their services again.

Men were almost an hour late arriving but they were pleasant and competent and careful with furniture. I noticed that their trucks were old but they were good drivers. It was a huge move on a hot day and they did not complain. 4 men, 2 trucks did the job, plus moving a grand piano. They finished in early evening not taking many breaks. We were happy with the job

They were amazing from start to finish. They were very helpful right from the word go, provided an accurate quote and were prompt and helpful on the day of the move. Communication leading up to and on the day of the move was exceptional as was the follow up to make sure we were entirely satisfied. I have no hesitation in recommending this company.

The story starts at the first phone call with them, they were very polite and kind giving me time and options. The 2 burly guys showed up and finished the job in no time and again very polite and they did a great job. I would and have recommended this company to others! Horrible experience! The guys were nice, but that's about all I can say good about my move with 2 Burley Men. The guys were very slow, taking tons of breaks The bill was 40% higher than the estimate. Guys were poorly trained, and clumsy... broke many things. Choose another company if you care about your stuff and your wallet.

Recently used Matthias and BNG to move our furniture within Kelowna. We were extremely pleased with their service, professionalism and care they took with moving our furniture. We had numerous fragile items which were all carefully wrapped and transported. Would highly recommend the service as it was good value as well.

This company has been very easy to deal with. The movers that came were efficient and took excellent care of our personal belongings. They also were the most cost effective. I would definitely use them again. Moving is hard work and we so appreciate the guys that came and moved our things!

I was very impressed with the service from the start. I was contacted right away after I requested a quote and booked my move for the date I needed. The two movers were professional, conscientious and thorough packing up my belongings , extremely hard working and got the job done quickly!

Had a great experience with 2 Burley Men Moving Ltd. Our company moved from a larger office space with storage to a much smaller location, they handled all of the hard work even moving over 250 file boxes. Kudos to the 2 Burley Men. I would use them again if I ever move again.

I would have given 5 stars as everything was great. The 2 movers were friendly and careful with my things. Was going to give each a nice tip but at the end of the move they decided to move the truck and backed up into my mom's car. We shall see what happens with insurance.

Really great service by 2 Burley Men Moving. The oversized planters that I needed them to move ended up being a bit heavier and more awkward than I originally anticipated but the crew figured it out and moved everything successfully. Would recommend!

Just completed a long distance move with 2 Burley Men and were very glad we decided to hire them - they were efficient, communicative, professional, and friendly. Aws, specifically, was amazing and we’re glad he was a part of the team that moved us.
