In the basement of the St Andrew’s Presbyterian church in downtown Toronto you will find a hidden gem, that is the 48th Highlanders Museum. The history of brave men and women who serve and have served are will represented in this small but thoughtful museum. Staff here are friendly and enthusiastic wanting to share their knowledge and the pride of this regiment. I recommend this museum, especially for those who are interested in Canadian military history. Check out their sliding cabinet of metals, very impressive If you like my reviews, photos or views then reach up to the Highlands and hit the like button.

Impromptu visit today with my nephew. What a warm welcome we received. We walked around for a few minutes to look around and were quickly joined by a wonderful guide ( unfortunately I didn't get his name). His kindness and patience was great as he shared the history of each donated artifact. Was able to answer all my nephew's questions even if it was information he'd already provided. We were able to spend about 30 minute before the little guy got antsy. Museum is free but please donate to this guardian of Toronto History. Very much enjoyed the bonus story on Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip

A small museum with a big heart! I visited the museum during lunch break one day this month and was positively surprised by how many artifacts the have in the collection. The museum was staffed by volunteers, who were super friendly. They proactively welcomed me, gave me explanations, and answered my questions. One of them told me about a funny anecdote from the time the late Queen Elizabeth II visited in the 1990s. They have a wealth of information about the museum, the collections, and the regiment itself. Do engage with the volunteers when you visit. A gem in the city!

We stumbled into this museum by accident, and were tremendously glad we did. It's not big, but that's a good thing - all of the items on exhibit can be seen in 30-60 minutes and you have the time to really appreciate things. Our "tour guide" (we didn't catch his name) was a member of the 48th Highlanders and gave a ton of context to the exhibits and passionately shared lots of stories about the people in photos or whose kit was on display. Absolutely worth a visit!

Great museum for the 48th Highlanders regiment. The person there today was Peter and who was super knowledgeable and shared great stories. It's a free museum but it is worth an hour or more of your time. We were glad to make a donation to support it.

A small but mighty museum located in the basement of St. Andrew's Church. Only open for a few hours each week on Wednesday and Thursdays. It's staffed by friendly and knowledgeable volunteers. Although the museum is free, do consider making a donation. And don't forget to sign the guest book.
