I parked downtown Tampa to see a show at the Straz, and I ended up getting to my car 3 minutes late because I legally waited for crosswalks and pedestrian walking signs. They had already fined me $50 when I got to my car. Again, 3 minutes late. I tried to see if 717 would accept, instead, a reasonable amount of money for parking for 3 minutes (certainly not a $50 fee), but they refused to respond. It’s been 2 months, and they now threatened me with a lawyer/legal notice. I reluctantly paid the fee after researching this company and realizing how many lawsuits are against them-they clearly have a law team in their corner. Lesson learned, that I hope to pass to others, never park in a 717 Lot. I know I will never. The POE garage downtown or city of Tampa parking is where I will be from here out. Not sure how many people can afford $50 for 3 minutes…but this is excessive and predatory practices.

Most overpriced lot downtown. Machine is cash-only (does not accept credit cards), and then doesn’t even give change. Basically this lot is a rip-off by design.
