We strolled down Hampden road from the Jackson Ross cafe — it’s about 2minute easy walk downhill. Nice quiet area. Battery Point Sculpture Trail 2000 is located in this park. Good views of Derwent river. Waterfront path to Salamanca goes around CSIRO complex. Easy stroll level path. There is a family sized table — to enjoy quiet lunch and a Sculpture artwork with bench. No amenities. Some parking available

Absolutely beautiful place at sunset. We went for a walk and ended up here, then climbed over some of the rocks to head to pier... not sure if it was a private pier, seemed to be for the houses there once we got closer, but we enjoyed our clamber anyway.

Small park mostly concrete jetty for fishing, boats etc. Water very clear so can see lots of small fish, starfish etc.Very peaceful despite being close to centre of Hobart. Pleasant walk on footpath back into Hobart centre.

We call it the Whale Tail park, & make up reasons as to why that is so, to our kids. There is a whale tail, and you can see things through it... not sure about the sunrise lining up exactly, but have a look...

A beautiful spot down on the waters edge, just be careful at night as some dodgy people do seem to hang around down there and lurk in the dark, but during the day it’s stunning and a great little spot!

The park is quite small, and appears to be used mostly by fishermen and locals. Some interesting relationships between the homes and bay, with many old rusted boat entrances and traces of prior use.

  • Margaret Thorpe

Pleasant little spot, close to the busy tourist area of Salamanca Place. Interesting history. Delightful seat under a big shady tree was very welcome to sit and take in the view.

  • Sam Waddi

Beautiful quiet place to park your car and start walking towards Salamanca Markets. Have a seat and meditate to the lovely view of calm water before leaving.

  • Nerissa James

this park is great! The playground is amazing and so much fun, just be aware of the blue matting on the "humps" on the first level it can be very slippery.

  • Murray Herbert

A nice little area for relaxing, fishing or exploring the rocky beach. My boys love exploring on the beach while I relax on one of the many benches.

  • Oliver Kemsley

Not really a park you'd spend hours sitting around in (as there is little in the way of grass or places to sit), but has nice views across the bay.

  • Simon Cas

Central to Battery Point and a good start location for a look around. Small park and a popular fishing spot off the shoreline.

  • Scott Matthews (Herschel Krustofski)

Nice location. . Great views. . Not so good for fishing though. . Lol. Close access to restaurants and Salamanca market place.

Lovely view, nice sculpture, general signage good but signage for sculpture was illegible and had come away from its mounting

Great playground for kids. My two year old had a blast, and there were kids ranging up to about ten all having fun.
