Brought my car for a alternator replacement. I was told over the phone that it will cost me $590 to be exact and I agreed with the price. After checking the car I was told that serpentine belt is not in good condition, told him back that its only less than 1 year old belt. After 2 days of waiting went to get my car and got charged differently $638+. i didn't argue cause just want to get my car and go home. When I got the key and tried to test the car, the car didn't start at all, it was just a click sound. I went to get the mechanic and he said i think its your battery, you need to get a new battery..... They boost my car to start and drove the car straight to my house hoping that the car wont have problems anymore. I turn of the engine and tried to start the engine again but it didn't work! They had the car for 2 days and still didn't fix my car right. What a ripped off giving me wrong information and trying everything to get more money from me! I didn't have any choice i have to get a new battery and try it on if its going to work. After this experience I totally don't trust these guys anymore! Trying to ripped you off to get more money! The worst experience with a mechanic to fix my car.

Been going here for the past 4 or 5 years after a friend recommended them. We recently had some issues with a strut replacement, which Jody patiently made right even though it was proven to be part issue with the Monroe QuickStruts. They always do honest work at a good price, and will only do the work that's needed. About 4 years ago at their previous location I took my old twin cam Focus there to get a new timing belt put on. Ford wanted $1600+ to do it, whereas A1 did it for about a third of the cost. Have had numerous other things done there on other cars and will continue to go back. With regard to some of the other reviews below. The Suzuki sign is likely a leftover sign from Walt Healy that used to occupy the building. Also a pre-purchase inspection usually won't give you much indication about the engine, unless it's making noise, but a compression test might reveal some issues if one asks for it to be done.

Absolute worst, they did a radiator replacement on my vehicle, damaged the flare fitting that goes to the transmission cooler and then tried to play it off like it had nothing to do with them. I only went to this place because it was the only shop I found open Saturday, but from now on I'll just take time off work and go to my regular mechanic because these guys do more harm than good. Edit: the radiator they put in was no good, had a crack in it. After spending 750 at their shop and another 900 at the dealer undoing the damage they caused the only thing I can say with certainty is that you should stay as far away from these hacks as possible. I suspect any positive review they have is written by them or their friends. They are dishonest and incompetent.

One of the worst mistakes of my life going to this place to get an inspection done. I had no idea how much it was going to cost me while i was looking for an inspection shop open on Saturdays. Bought a used Ram 1500 for $8,000 and took it to A-1 Auto Repair for pre-purchase inspection. No major issues were found by the mechanics. 3 days and 100 kms after purchasing, a knock sound from the engine started. Took it back and got a shrug and an "oh well"! What I'd like to know is how can a facility be a licensed inspection facility while it does nothing to inspect a vehicle and still charge me $90. I highly recommend staying away from this place.

Jody has been my mechanic for 10 years now. Whenever I get an oil change I always have mechanics try to tell me I need a flush etc. Jodie never did and his rates were really great! I’ve brought my car to him ever since. Jody will even go the extra mile to take me to the back and show me what they found when they do suggest other repairs and take the time to explain what is wrong and what is needed. His rates continue to be extremely reasonable. Jody and Harmon are very kind and always get me in quickly when I need a tire and oil change. Jody is a mechanic I trust! Would highly recommend!

Horrible place to get anything repaired. My son had the timing chain replaced on his Hyundai Genesis. Took a week to complete the job. When he picked up his car the fuel pump was leaking after they completed the job but was not leaking before the job was started. Took it back to have it repaired and waited another few days only to get it back and still leaked. Had to take to a shop that actually knew what they were doing. Do not use this shop unless you are prepared to pay lots of money for work that is not completed properly.

Your signs are very misleading and possibly illegal, you have a big SUZUKI sign on your building showing you are Suzuki Authorized Auto Shop. This is not the case, yeah you might work on Suzuki's but you are not a SUZUKI authorized auto shop. After googling Suzuki auto shops in Calgary there is only 1 Authorized Suzuki Dealership and you are not it. The fact that you are providing false advertisement and I will be mentioning this to everyone I know, I will be taking my business elsewhere.

Took my spark plugs for a change. A year later, I took it to another shop since my gas mileage was extremely low, and the new shop mechanic said the way the spark plugs were installed were improper and even showed me the spark plugs and they were fully corroded which means they were misfiring. The last time I did a spark plug change was at this shop and now I know to never come back here. The shop owner is a complete rip off and doesn’t know how to welcome customers.

I just got a flat tire on my way to work. I literally went almost 5 shops. All the shops told me like they are already booked for the next two weeks for the winter tire change and all other stuff and finally I got here. I just told the guy that I just need a tire repair. Also i told him that I don’t have any other choice and it’s an emergency situation, Without hesitation, he just grabbed my key and got my tire fixed in less than 10 minutes. Thank you so much.

Outstanding service! I called in with a request to fill my AC, they got me in right away and back on the road in less than 30 minutes. Ill definitely be back! Update: I’ve been back here many times since the AC refill. I’ve had my insurance inspection done, crankhouse sensor replaced and currently it’s in there for some more repairs. My 2002 dodge Dakota was a beater truck but thanks to their excellent service I’ve been able to keep it running!

These guys are great. They could easily have ripped me off a couple of times but once said no work was needed and didn't even charge an inspection fee. Other times they have been 40% to 60% cheaper than quotes I've had elsewhere and I've been totally satisfied with the work. Honest mechanics and good prices. Can't get any better.

I have used these guys several times from changing tires to oil changes, brakes. Very reasonable prices and prompt service. Seems pretty honest as well with the work completed. Quite happy overall compared to some regular local mechanics I’ve used. They have become my go to auto shop. Do recommend them.

I was able to get in very last minute and have some repairs done the day before I needed to drive outside of province for work. The service was quick and fairly priced. Will never take my car here or suggest them Brought my car here for a wheel alignment. They charged me full price even tho my tie rod ends were so worn out they snapped a couple weeks later and they never told me they were worn out. They should never have done the work if they were that bad.

Good repair shop helpful techs. Called in for a flat tire and they took me in right away. My tired actually had more than 1 whole they showed me all of them and advised it's not a good idea to fill them all. Just filled one. Happy with their service. Will come back again!

Went in for an oil change and a brake repair on my Toyota, the job was finished on time and car feels brand new! 10/10 service, would recommend to anybody needing repairs or having their vehicle serviced, they work on a variety of vehicles so they can do it all.

I took in the company truck for a repair, and it was repaired as promised. Harman at the shop was very professional and explained everything well over the phone before the repair was done. I already recommended a friend who was in need for a repair.
