Just moved my stuff into storage here and couldn't be more pleased with the situation at this facility. Moving stuff can be a bit stressful, so you really appreciate a cheerful/friendly/helpful person like Cesar at your storage facility. The security here seems really good, so one of the things they do is require your code to open the elevator- but when you have a moving truck full of stuff, it's a lot of trips. Cesar noticed this on the security cameras and walked over, told us he'd suspended the elevator code so we could just push the button, and gave another tip to make things easier- it's this kind of "went out of his way to help when he could have done nothing" thing that let's you know you're working with a good outfit that's smart enough to hire/retain top notch people like that. Other than good staff, the elevators are giant so you can move literally a ton of stuff per trip. The secured gates to the vehicle entrance are over 13 feet tall so you could pull a semi into this place and unload, no problem. The floors are very clean. There are large water pipes running everywhere so it's clear fire suppression is a high priority- in case some knucklehead puts flammable things in his storage unit, your stuff probably won't burn too. And the prices are competitive. Feel like I really nailed it picking this place :-)

My stuff was kept completely safe & secure for the whole year, everything was super clean and I never had to worry about pests or even dust forming on my stuff because it was so protected. Any time I needed to grab something, the only time it was somewhat “busy” (as in a moving truck parked inside with people transferring stuff in or out) was around the first of the month & I had to wait for the elevator once and not even for long. Other than that it’s pretty dead and you usually have the elevator to yourself. Rates were pretty decent for the amount of stuff I had to store away and the staff was always super cool whenever I needed something. Would definitely use them again if I had to, and recommend them to my friends.

I have never rented a storage unit before, so I went online and reserved one. I immediately received a phone call from the office letting me know they received my request. The gentleman on the phone answered all my questions and walked me through everything. I went the next day to officially rent and sign the paperwork. The gentleman who helped me, although new, was very helpful as well. He got me all set up, walked me to my unit, and showed me where I could park, etc. There was another lady working there and she was just as helpful. I don’t need a long-term rental but will definitely continue using this location for any future needs after I am done.

When we first moved into the downtown San Diego area we used another storage company that was not very good. This company was a real great experience for us. The grounds are spotless and the elevator is modern. The man at the front desk was extremely friend knowledgeable. I wish I could remember his name but he was wonderful. He answered all of our questions and made us feel comfortable. There were plenty of furniture carts to use if needed. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who has storage needs.

My first time using A-1 and it has been fantastic. The staff is great, and the facility secure, clean, and easy to access. I needed to change the size of the unit the day before moving in and Emma was so helpful finding and reserving the new unit. I have already begun recommending it to my friends. I also appreciate the automatic payment option that makes it one less thing to worry about in my busy life. THANK YOU! Don't look anywhere else for your Storage needs. The A-1 Self Storage facility on Pacific Highway (2235 Pacific Hwy, San Diego, CA 92101) near Downtown San Diego is well kept, safe, and convenient for your temporary or long-term storage needs. With a key code that they provide you, you'll be able to drop in anytime from 6 a.m. - 10 p.m. to drop-off and pick-up your items. There is staff during working hours and they do have a phone number as well in case anything arises. Great location.

This facility was extraordinarily accommodating. Our plans changed causing a delay in our storage needs. They graciously extended the reservation to match our needs. Every conversation and every email was handled with friendly yet professional communication. I dealt with three different agents and all of them were kind, informative and professional. Great place and I was totally comfortable dropping all three of my vehicles there for the next 5 months

The best level of service I've had from a self storage place (and I've had to rent a few...). Moving is massively painful, and this last time was no exception. Kaela was awesome. She waited for us to come in from a long drive, took care of things very quickly and was very clear on all the rules, directions, etc. The place is well laid out and clean, accessibility is great, and the space was just the right size for us. We had a storage unit at this location for 3 years. Just recently, we moved into a home and vacated our storage unit. I was expecting to find bugs/spiders etc.... but to my surprise, all of my boxes and belonging were absolutely bug free. They keep the building super clean, and I assume they are diligent with pest control. The staff is super friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend this storage facility.

Staff was very friendly and informative when I came to inquire about a unit. They showed me several and I chose one that fit my needs. Most importantly, I was impressed with the cleanliness and modern quality of the facility, and the convenience of easy in-and-out access by car. Plus, the location is within easy walking distance from my condo if needed! Altogether I’m very pleased.

A dream storage center.. Sparking plane. High efficient, plenty of carts… I cannot tell you how easy they have made my life. I had originally signed up for ballpark storage. What a mistake as there is no parking, no carts, filthy as can be and stinks to high heaven. Very next day I moved everything to A1 self storage. Love it.

Was promised unit online, rolled up with all belongings trying to retrieve unit. Showing them reservation. A1 self storage was so unprofessional they forbid my reservation and luckily was able move into Prime storage. Very unprofessional a1 storage, be weary these crooks

Anthony was pleasant, helpful and professional (a rarity these days). We got disconnected but he called me back. Was very thorough with the tour and reserving my unit. The rest of the staff was friendly too. I do not normally leave reviews but his service warranted one.

I’ve been the A-1 Self Storage for 3 years now and when I say I only trust them with my belongings!!Especially with the over population of homeless roaming the streets of San Diego and my location the customer service is amazing!
