If I could give this store 0 stars I would. On 7/23, I made a stop at Ace Liquor since I was in a hurry and couldn't get to my normal liquor store. I purchased Martini & Rossi Sparkling Rose mini bottles (4 total). Upon opening the first bottle, I noticed a weird smell and color to the product. There were no bubbles, fizz, or carbonation in the product. It smelled of vinegar and had a brown color. I decided to taste a bit and yes, it tasted as bad as it looked. Rotten! I went ahead and opened a second bottle just to make sure it wasn't a fluke thing, but indeed the other bottle was expired/rotten as well. On 7/26, I was able to return to the store to express my concern. I even brought a little cup with me so I could show Manuel the quality of the product. His attitude was harsh, short, and unapologetic. He said I couldn't open the bottle in the store because they didn't have a license for opening bottles... yes, in a liquor store!? He took the product from me saying that he is not authorized to give refunds. He was the only person in the store, who else is supposed to give refunds? I know this isn't the first time someone has asked for one. Instead, he said he would have the distributor check out to the product when they visit within 1 week to determine what is going on with the product and I should check back in. This all sounded so fishy to me. A few days later, I thought I would try to reach the owner of the store assuming that he/she would have a little more concern for the situation. I spoke to Manuel on the phone who took my phone number. I ask him that he relay this message to the owner, "I would like a call back today to discuss the situation." I NEVER received a phone call from the owner. Here we are today, 8/3, and I call the store back because at this point the distributor should've visited and accessed the expired product, right? Wrong. This time I spoke with the owner, Bonny. After I explained the situation, he told me the distributor wouldn't be there til this Friday, 8/5, and I would hear back from them then. I questioned him as to why I haven't heard from him. He copped a major attitude saying, "you wanted me to call you just to tell you the same thing Manuel did?" To which I replied, "YES, YOU ARE THE OWNER OF THE STORE, DO YOU NOT CARE TO FOLLOW UP ON YOUR CUSTOMERS OR TO EVEN LEND AN APOLOGY?" Granted I've never bought expired liquor before and tried to return it, but this seems beyond ridiculous and inconsiderate. We'll see what happens on Friday. At this point, I don't care and would rather not have to talk to them ever again. I honestly feel cheated and completely taken advantage of. It's not the money I'm concerned about, but the treatment of their customers. Please please stay away from this business. I am a big proponent of small businesses, but being a small business doesn't mean you get to take advantage of your customers and expect people to keep coming back. Never again! On top of this horrid experience, the inventory and shelves are covered with dust and everything is overpriced.

Store selection seemed fine. The clerk makes up his own prices. Went in to buy a special bottle of whiskey. First, he asked "how much was I going to pay for it", that was my first clue. There was also no price on, or near the bottle. He told me how much he wanted for it $$$. I explained to him that seemed high. They only had one bottle. I told him I was going to another store that had a bottle and if it was much cheaper, then I was coming back and he assured me he wasn't over charging me. I paid less than half of what he charged me at the other store. Once I explained to the other store how much ACE had charged me, they were shocked and said I should go get my money back. They even described the clerk and said they have had many people complain about him ripping them off. When I went back to ACE, he had all the excuses ready and would not refund, exchange or even void the purchase and charge me less, or give me store credit. I will be filing a complaint with the BBB, TABC and posting this review on Yelp and Nextdoor.

Some concern of the negative energy emanating from so many. The sweet walk of life is being decimated by it. This store's cashier, who just may be the owner, is somewhat helpful but appears to look down on folks. Rude and obnoxious. Overall, I should have given 2 stars.

The salesman was rude. He hanged up the phone on me when I just simply asked him a question. . I’m not from here just trying to find out different things. …

Best wine prices without going to a big box store. Lot's of wine items you can't find at HEB down the street. Try Raiza reserva or long little dog rose
