I embarked on a mission to acquire a padlock and securing mechanism that was just a smidge more complex than your run-of-the-mill variety. I requested a quote about six weeks ago and, after several weeks of silence, I delved into the realm of their corporate call centre. It felt like being caught in a never-ending game of pass-the-parcel as I was bounced from one person to another, desperately trying to extract an actual quote. Sure, they were polite and appeared helpful, but it seemed like nothing was actually getting done. Eventually, I received the quote and eagerly inquired about the estimated time for the items to be ready in their Chatswood workshop. Weeks went by without any sign of life, or useful information. After numerous attempts to revive the situation, I finally managed to reach a sales guy in Adelaide. He seemed determined to jumpstart the Chatswood workshop with his remote and distant defibrillator. Alas, after what I understood were his several failed attempts, he admitted defeat and said, "Sorry, mate, I'm just the sales guy. Give the 1300 number a buzz again and ask for David in Chatswood." Little did I know that reaching him would be akin to climbing Mount Everest blindfolded. It appeared that the call center's policy was to take messages rather than transfer customers with legitimate business to the actual person they needed to speak with. I made several futile attempts to breach this impenetrable fortress. Miraculously, after venting my frustrations to the poor, unsuspecting soul at the call centre, the enigmatic David from Chatswood called me. When I spoke with him, he couldn't locate the quote. He vaguely remembered it, but thought it had been done ages ago. I recounted the countless times I had tried to reach him and his workshop, the desperate pleas I had made to his numerous colleagues, over what seemed like an eternity. He apologized, but it seemed that none of my attempts had reached him, or his workshop, for that matter. Who knows? Perhaps he was right, because the last time I called the 1300 number and provided them with my quote number, they seemed unaware of my contact number, despite having used or written down my contact details in pretty much every interaction I had with ARA, and actually calling them on that number at the time. But I digress; I was discussing my conversation with David. It turned out that the required items were on back-order from the supplier, with no response in sight. In fact, he claimed to have tried obtaining the parts from two other suppliers, but by that point, my sense of disbelief had reached astronomical levels. However, when I painstakingly re-explained the job requirements that I had already clearly written up in an email to ARA, complete with pictures and dimensions. David miraculously managed to find this communication after being guilt-tripped into actually looking for it. So in discussion, it appeared that I could use more common, readily available items to meet my needs. "Great!" I exclaimed, but what’s the new cost estimate for the job with these alternative parts. And then, in a moment that screamed "computer says no," I was informed that pricing matters would have to be sent back to Greg in Adelaide, and that he would respond with an updated quote this afternoon. Inwardly, I chuckled at the sheer absurdity of it all. Needless to say, my expectations for disappointment were duly met. The next day, I decided to pay a visit to Independent Locksmiths in Parramatta, as I happened to be out there anyway. Sure, it took them 20 minutes or so, to re-key a padlock and attach a simple retaining chain, but they solved my problem with a single interaction and a smile. But hey, let's give credit where it's due. ARA Locksmiths, you probably have the most extraordinary job descriptions and an intricate division of labour that operates on a molecular level, but I can't help but wonder, who wipes your bum in the morning?
They had thier tradesman knock lightly on my door once. Did not hit my door bell or try to call me then have called me up insisting I pay for the call out. My arlo camera recorded the audio of the single quite door knock and my call log has no missed calls yet they claim the tradesman knocked multiple times on the door and windows and tried to call multiple times. I then am asked to pay for the call out and refuse on the grounds they did not make me aware they were at my property properly. They then call back asking for the camera footage which I could not access while on the call as arlo cloud was down. I offer to send the film and call log if given contact details and am told if I don't provide the camera footage right then or pay they will send people to knock on my door for the money. An out and out crimes attempt at a stand over. Be warned this company is,dodgy.
Key snapped off inside the fuel tank lid of my motorbike at the servo, was running low on fuel. I use my bike to commute so needed an urgent fix so I can refill my motorbike; couldn't afford to wait until day off. Since I work open-close most days I considered calling a mobile locksmith, but instead I got my spare keys and rode to Archer Locksmiths before work hoping something can be sorted between 8:30am when they open, and 9am which is when I need to be at work. They got the keys out in no time, I requested a new spare key cut, got that done on-the-spot, keyhole lubricated; competitive pricing and time efficient. Saved me from having to fork out $100+ on a mobile locksmith.
After the unpleasant, inconvenient and sad experience of having had my house and car keys 'removed' I was anxious to get the locks changed as quickly as possible for security and peace of mind. I contacted Mark after a referral from a friend. Within the space of an hour, I had Isaac call me from the Chatswood branch and Grant arrived to change the locks. After the experience of the night before, the team's friendly, efficient , proficient and amazingly kind care is just awesome!! I have no hesitation in recommending Archer Locksmiths whatsoever, for professionalism and customer care beyond expectation. Thank you Grant, Isaac and the generous Mark .. Just Fab !
They dont seem very interested in handling my call. Called them over the phone but receptionist asked me to send email for my requests. What's the point of calling over the phone. Isn't it good customer service to get somebody to call me back or take my details or requests down ? Just felt they were not interested in my call. Most companies just take your details and call you back but not ask you to send a separate email. Just My opinions above.
Cody did an excellent job / provided outstanding customer service: we couldn't be happier. Listened carefully with what we needed during measurements, found a suitably matching door handle (after providing a variety of options) to fix our broken one on an old-style gate and fixed it all in about week from enquiry. So glad we didn't have to replace the whole gate as it wouldn't fit in with the style of the house.
I visited this store yesterday to get my car keys made but was appalled by the service. Not only was the key incorrectly made, but the customer service was terrible. After returning to the store to get the key changed for the second time, they told me they were closed and that I should come back tomorrow. This is a waste of my time for what should have been as easy, quick job. I do not recommend their services!
Took a Union key there for duplication. They said come back in 40 min. Came back in 30 min. Waited for 2 customers to have their jobs done. Then they said, can we help you? I was here 40 min ago. Another 10 min, sorry can't do. Please tell me the TRUTH and do my job IN ORDER NOT WHEN YOU FEEL LIKE IT. WHAT A WASTE OF TIME. Got it done at Keeler Hardware for $3 cheaper per copy. My score 0 to -100. Hopeless.
Staff service was very good. However, the 1 star is for the high restricted key system. Other highly skilled locksmiths can still pick it & replicate a key on the spot. If it was done without your knowledge, the other locksmiths would probably deny it to avoid a fine. The NSW locksmith regulations are not as strict as you would expect. The system did not provide the security that I needed.
Hands down the worst service I’ve ever received. In fact it technically didn’t even qualify as service. Just a bloke tending to the only other customer in the place for 40mins looking like he was attempting to break a record for how slow he could move and how little he could care. In that whole time he pretty much ignored me. No idea how this place functions. Go anywhere else
By far the worst customer service in history. Such a shame that the amazing Archer locksmiths has been taken over by this company! Rudest man at reception I’ve ever met. Quoted $20 a key and charged me $111 I was told they are no longer interested in residential clients Only enterprise so they increase their prices to deter residential clients What a shame!
Got our locks done. Really rude and unprofessional staff. They had to come back three times to get the job done. And even then… the job was not finished. Really poor communication. I gave them a list of things to do and they only did half of the stuff on the list the first time they came around and blamed it on me. Do not come here and go somewhere else.
What a shame. Great local business that was Archer Street Locksmiths, taken over by a company that has no interest in going out of their way to help residential customers...after 20 years, you've lost my business. Reading the recent post, I'm not the only on the comment on the same thing....such a shame for new owners and longstanding customers
Asked for punching two holes on belt n one guy said normally dont do in store that but he could. It turned out very bad jobs n the holes did not even big enough to work n also charged me 10 dollars! Cannt bother to go back arguing so went to another store and they fixed them for free. One star for ridiculous service and fee.
Cody did a fantastic job to replace the balcony door lock for us, it was already half broken and the lock was difficult to source and repair. Previous two people came all given up on the job. He was so patient and tried his best to solve the issue, So glad to meet him. Thank you so much !
On the multiple occasions I have used Archer Locksmiths, the team have been friendly, professional, efficient and perform work to a very high standard. Usually available relatively quickly and pricing is fair. Would highly recommend. Thanks again to Cody who was great to deal with.
Our house keys were lost and for security reason we decided to change the locks. Will from Archer Locksmiths was on time and pleasant to deal with but most importantly he knows exactly what to do and done it fast! A true asset to your company! Highly recommend.
Brilliant service. Was given time between 3 to 5 pm. Mark arrived 4 pm did the job in 5 mins just beautifully. No mess, no fuss just professional and helped by doing a little extra too. Highly recommend Mark at Archer Locksmith.
Cannot recommend Archer Locksmiths enough! We were locked out of our apartment today, a puppy stuck inside and archer locksmiths had someone out to us in 20 minutes! The man that arrived was very helpful and friendly. Thank you!
Excellent customer service and response time from your callout personnel (Cody). Being locked out was bit of a nightmare situation but Cody was really friendly and came up with solutions to each issue encountered. Thank you.
The company's online reality is 24-hour service. When I called the phone someone tell me I need pay $528 service call fee, I didn't say anything about what service I wanted. It was too expensive. It was a robbery.
I've been to the shop three times recently. Each visit was an unpleasant experience. Last visit after being ignored I simply left. For basic key cutting I would definitely avoid and go elsewhere.
Service was excellent. Nice Guys and did the job well. Easy to talk to and negotiate. Best of all was they knew how to do the job well. They were also a reasonable price. I will use them again.
Quick and good service! I would like a set of extended spindle and other warehouse need 10 days and $54, here only need 1 day and $41 ! Excellent customer service and the locksmith is so kind!
When it was PRV locksmiths in Mascot was efficient and had a workshop to have face to face service. Now they have closed and have poor service. All online, to suit corporate clients.
These guys are amazing, video call me twice to help me with a stubborn new outdoor lock, really professional and friendly and above all, very very knowledgeable, thank you Cody
We're glad we chose Archer Locksmiths. Cody solved our lock issues quickly and professionally. It's always great to find a 'tradie' who is intelligent, friendly and motivated.
I cannot rave enough about the quality of service you will get if you use Archer Locksmiths. They helped me out same day and were nothing but polite and professional.
I don't often have a need for locksmiths but whenever I do I call Archer locksmiths and Cody has done plenty of jobs for me and every time his service is outstanding!
Cody was very friendly and professional at his job. The key cutting was fast and good quality. The shop is larger and more comprehensive than other small shop.
Fixed my steel door handle in 10 seconds. Refused to accept any payment. What a nice guy!! Will definitely go there again for any locks problem in the future.
I attended 20/3/18, received excellent old fashioned customer service and expertise and a very reasonable price. I will be going back and recommend highly!!

very helpful, came in as my garage door remote was broken and they happen to just replaced it on the spot there and then....
Turned up on time when I was desperated needing someone to help open the door while I had a baby with me! Thank you …
Very fast service and would like to thank Tom for coming out and change my locks within an hour of my call . Thank you
They came out at their request, walked through, wrote down what we wanted done, and I never heard from them again.

Really impressed with how helpful they were, in this age of diminishing service and care, they are an exception.
