My last visit to the pet shop was a bit disappointing. I’ve gone there a couple of time after stopping at the Woolies and the experience was always pleasant, not amazing but fine. The staff was not as friendly as the other pet stores I go to often, but my last visit made me never want to go there again. I speak English but grew up in an Afrikaans town, so I understand Afrikaans perfectly. I was asking the two store attendants about their breed specific food options for Yorkies. They helped me but probably noticed that I was English. So when I was checking out, they started to talk to one another in Afrikaans, saying how much they dislike Yorkies and how they are awful pets. I tried not to take it personally and said nothing. But looking back now- that’s really bad “bedside manners”. You work in a pet store. It’s probably best to keep those options to yourself. And BTW if one of those store attendees end up reading this- my dogs are amazing.

This morning I visited the store to purchase a collar for my kitten. I waited for the store to open (together with other customers who left when the store did not open at 9h00). I phoned the Head Office. While I was speaking to the person who answered the phone a shop assistant came strolling toward the shop. No apology, just a big smile. I do think it is the attitude that despise me more that the fact that the shop did not open on time. I requested assistance and while she was going through the store and switching on lights, she just pointed her finger to the collars. When I asked further assistance she just rambled a few words and continued to the till area. The attitude continue while I was paying. Needless to say the collar that I purchased is not the right size. I will never visit this store again, nor will I recommend it to anyone.

Enquired about a specific size dog bed instore (actually went to the bed in question and asked the price). Went all the way back to return one just bought at another store by Cape Gate. When I came back the wrong price was given. Very disappointed
