I went in and got seen within 15 minutes. That was pretty good I thought. I was admitted put in a room and waited for a room upstairs. I don't really know how long that took but the wait wasn't that bad. I showed up on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving at approximately 3pm. I had Pneumonia and the flu and I guess a BLOOD INFECTION. I found out about the blood infection today from my PCP. I was very uncomfortable during my stay and wanted to leave after being there for approximately 72 hours. I asked the nurse if I could leave and she stated that I could if I signed a release letter of which I agreed to. Now during my stay some of the nurses were not quite as nice as most of them but they outweighed the rude ones. Now here's where my issues begin. The minute I stated I wanted to leave the care I was receiving just abruptly stopped. It was worse once I signed the letter. I received no copy of the letter. I received no instructions on how to proceed, I was lucky to get a bag to put my stuff in. I asked for a wheelchair so I could make it to the patient pick up area and was not given one. I even heard one nurse say something about "Well he should had stayed home if ?". My wanting to leave had nothing to do with the service I was receiving it was about me yet the hospital took it personal. Now according to my PCP I have a blood infection that the hospital was treating me for and that it is serious and I could die from it. I was never told of this infection and it's seriousness. Had I known this I probably would have stayed. No one I mean no one explained this to me and the seriousness or the consequences of this infection. With my signing the letter no matter what happens you are not liable. If this is a way you conduct business on a daily basis you should be ashamed. I could have died because no one bothered to make sure I fully understood what leaving could mean to my health. Like I stated earlier I more than likely would have stayed had someone talked to me. Instead of just ignoring me. I am truly disappointed. If patients who want to leave get treated like this then this is a facility I would not let examine me let alone recommend it to family and friends. Your inability to keep me informed of what was wrong with me, what my issues were and my treatment was and making sure I understood them along with paperwork I could read about my issues would have made my decisions different from the one I chose. I would have chosen to stay no matter how uncomfortable I felt. Your inability to keep me informed could have cost me my life. When I chose to leave someone should have explained to me the severity of my decision but no one did. I was instantly black balled and that is no way anyone should be treated especially if I'm not understanding the whole situation. Thanks for almost costing me my life because I wasn't totally informed by you. I'm shocked at the response I received from the owner. The response I received was a response the owner sends to everyone. The response was a basic form letter. You would think that with the severity of my issue that I would have received more than just a form letter. This just goes to show you the level of care and compassion rendered to patients at this facility. I will never use this facility for any of my emergency and medical needs let alone recommend them to anyone.
Zero Stars....On Monday January 2,2023 I went to this location with complaints of sore throat, flu like symptoms. Main concern was my throat. I had recently (3 weeks prior) had a sinus infection, and was treated at an urgent care. Anyway, I was given a chest X-ray, flu swab/covid swab. The PA that I seen looked at my throat , and verbally told me, " Oh Yes, It is very red". However, she never gave e a strep test. Which was what I thought was going to happen. NOPE!! I was told it was viral and sent on my way with prescription for anti inflammatory, and cough meds. Me listening to a professional did what she said. Days go by, my throat proceeded to get even more inflamed and more red. I've not been able to work and barely perform home duties as a single mom and business owner. I have had to cancel appointments at my business and call out of my second job due to being ill. Day 5 Today Friday January 6, 2023 after another sleepless night and another day of only eating soup and not being able to work(lost 6 pounds in the process of not being able to eat). I decided to get second opinion and this time went to a Banner facility. I went in with the same symptoms, main concern is my throat ( in worse shape now) I was immediately tested for strep. And of course it was positive. I was also immediately given a liquid steroid in office due to the Dr. being concerned about the swelling in my throat to help open it up. I explained my recent visit to ER to the Dr, and even they were confused as to how I was not tested for strep. 5 Days I have had a bacteria growing in my throat untreated, could have put my heart and kidneys at risk. Thankfully I being PROPERLY treated NOW!! By a Banner Dr.. I immediately contacted Abrazo to speak to someone to make a complaint, I spoke to a woman in charge of these ER complaints and concerns, and I was told she agreed with what she read from the PA that treated me. She read that the PA didn't see a reason to to do a strep on someone with an inflamed throat. My concern didn't seem to be an issue. I didn't understand how one more swab would have affected her time, and I made that clear. I have full insurance with no copay, It would not have cost this woman a dime to swab me for strep. This woman basically kept repeating herself to me making me upset. So I told her to have a good day, and that I would reach out to someone else. I hope this reaches the right person. This was negligence, even if she only thought it was viral, why not ease my mind and test for strep anyway. I'm a hairstylist, with my own business and a second job at a different salon. Due to this, I have now lost out on about $1000 in services. because I had to reschedule my clients. Had I been treated properly on Monday January 2, 2023 at Abrazo, I could have been treated and back to work. As you can see, I have respectfully left out the names of the "Professionals" I encountered through this horrible process.
These are my wifes words. Im posting this because people need to know to steer clear of this hospital. "To Abrazo Central Medical Center Administration, I think you should know how my experience was in the ER on Tuesday, September 7th. Because of a debilitating migraine that was there since Saturday, September 4th, I had attempted to go to urgent care, who then referred me to the ER. I arrived onsite at about 12:30 pm and we checked in at about 12:50 pm. At roughly 1:30 pm the PA on staff saw me and stated that they would try different medications to see what works. After this her medical care was missing in action until about 8:46 pm, and didn't even place me in a room. IV was put in and I was placed back in the ER waiting room. I notified the nurses when the IV bag was almost empty and nobody came. I ended up actually stopping the IV fluids by myself to prevent air from getting into my system. I was not sent home with any type of prescription or medication to help manage my migraine pain until I could get into see a neurologist (the earliest date was next week on Wednesday, September 15th). The entire time I was even present at the hospital, they checked my vitals only ONE time. First round of IV meds did not work, they tried a second medication then proceeded to disconnect my IV and discharge me without checking where my pain level was, or even bother to ask me if the second round of medication worked. But yet they just discharged me and sent me home. They took no MRI or CT scans of any kind, and performed no tests to help diagnose my problem. I would also like to mention that there were multiple patients in the waiting room who had Covid19 and were not isolated for anyone’s protection. One gentleman in particular kept taking his mask off and coughing everywhere. I am absolutely appalled to see a hospital like this, even if it's busy. To further add, “Busy” was often used as an excuse by all staff involved. People were walking out of the ER in droves because they could not get medical help for their issue in a reasonable amount of time. There was actually a patient in the waiting room who was having a very difficult time breathing. I would think that ER staff would have jumped on this right away. My experience here at Abrazo Central was absolutely unacceptable. I fear that if something ever happened to me and I was brought in on a gurney unconscious, that I might not make it if I had been brought into this hospital. This should not be a valid fear. I am now back in the ER today Friday September 10 because you were too ignorant and busy to treat me. If anything comes up in my CT scan that you guys should have caught prior I will be holding you accountable."
For a second time in the hospital after my mother getting sick while in Physical Therapy Rehab. I am upset at the attention these staff member give to anyone's loved ones. It is sad how no one really cares. Like a lot of people think that certain people are here because they really care for others. That it is there passion or there drive.... Sadly to say its only another job. Even though the same staff members have opened up to say very bizarre comments of their own work place. That is where you know their is hope in a few that really do care. Kudos for those that do, and hope for those that don't really find there passion elsewhere. We even had a staff member let us know they had left a report stating the family in room so and so are very complicated members... How would i not be complicated after having your your loved one in very poor condition. Who has not been seen by a Dr./Provider over 24 hours after being admitted to the hospital. In here for the second time and still waiting for a GI medical provider. For some of these staff members you can probably tell they never really had a loved one in this situation. They might be a little more reasonable. Maybe they are definitely in the wrong filled because they are cold blooded. Especially when you ask nurses at times to explain certain things to you and they get upset and tell you that, "that is not my job. That its something that does not regard the doctors and much less them as nurses. My story can go on and and and there is lot to be said but it is a brief little story. I am heart broken and in my feelings to see my loved one in this very poor condition. More when she repeats the same things over and over. Released to rehab and ends up in the same place with the repeated symptoms, pains and conditions. Where i can tell you step by step and what needs to be done. Medications, care, and treatments. How to perform a day at the hospital daily do's.
I entered the ER April of 21st my bp and temp was checked. I was told I had a fever but I was also coughing and having trouble breathing. I was not admitted because the PA said I had bronchitis. I told my friend who came with me that the X-ray that I was shown was definitely not a bronchitis X-ray. The next day I went to urgent care around 7:50pm because I couldn’t get up or get myself dressed to go earlier. I told them that I needed a rapid Covid - 19 test and they gave me one and it was definitely positive. I then went to different hospital who gave me a mother rapid Covid test and it was positive so I was admitted to ICU. My oxygen was so low they nurses were amazed that I could walk into the ER without a wheelchair and said they were surprised I was even living due to such low oxygen which had been low for 3-4 days. Additionally, my fever was almost 108 and my potassium was too low. The doc said it was if something was preserving my organs because they were not shutting down and was astonished that I was able to walk in the hospital. So, this means I was a really sick woman when I went to Abrazo campus the evening before. Abrazo needs leadership training and other training too. The PA at Abrazo even told me that I did not have Covid-19 and to test when I got back to Georgia. My friend and I just shook our heads. Incidentally, my friend who was with me has a degree in the medical field and she knew the protocols were lacking. These are concerns that need to be addressed starting with the leadership. I was in Phoenix for my doctoral residency in leadership so I know change starts with the leadership. Someone needs to step up or this hospital may end up closing. Also, Abrazo was asking me for payment for services but they sent me back to my hotel room to die if Covid-19 so I wouldn’t dream of paying for the lowest standard of Care I’ve ever received! Get it together.
This hospital need to be under investigation. Most of the Nurse don't know what they're doing besides smoking outside every couple of minutes (Specifically overnight). When you notify them your concerns they willl literally try to fight. They don't care about their patients or their job. They rather let the patient die on bed than help anyone early. If you care about your family members, don't bring them to this place! These are some of the problems i noticed. 1) They don't see patients on time. 2) If they see patients, they will not diagnose the patient. They willl leave patients in bed to die and don't even bring a drink or food. 3) Starting from ER front desk, everyone is unprofessional and disrespectful! 4) They will not accept or listen your concerns. I had to talk to 10 people and wait for 6 hrs to even give patient health history. They waited the last minute to ask me information when they had hard time. 5) Everyone act like they own the hospital ( they take break anytime they want, talk about stuff that's not related to job, and ignore others when they're asked for help) Specially overnight stuff. 6) The doctors or nurses don't read pervious note, or they will come and ask you what's going on. Each time when the new shift start, the patient will be tested again and they will start telling you a new hypothesis about what might be the problem. 7) You will never find out what's wrong or the diagnosis of your family members even you ask for it. 8) They will remove their mask, to talk to one other........i can go on and on. This place gave me an actual nightmare and a dark experience that can't be removed from my life. Please take your family members somewhere else, if you want them to live.
Last night I had came into the E. R because I had fainted while sitting at the kitchen. I had fell head first and that maybe triggered me to have a seizure. When talking to the Abrazo nurses and doctors I clearly stated I am a medical marijuana patient,a card holder in the state of Arizona. Once that was said it was like as if the professional matter had lowered due to their own personal beliefs.Their demeanor had changed and comments were made that made me feel uncomfortable. I was there for help, I was looking for answers. I was diagnosed based on their assumptions. My discharge papers say nothing in regards to my health or what was done as in blood work, results of cat scan but made sure it said I had marijuana in my system. I spent 5 hours at the Emergency Room wondering what was going on to only receive nothing but disappointment from health professionals whose job I thought was to help, not judge or treat others unfairly due to their own opinions and beliefs. This all could of been avoided had they spent a Little more time talking to me instead of joking around with Co workers. My room was literally in front of their work station so I heard conversations and comments being made by the nurses about other patients in an unprofessional way. So can you imagine what they thought of me? This is the second time I've came to this place and have had horrible experiences. It isn't sitting well with me how unfairly I was treated, I will be taking any action possible with this situation to ensure the next person gets the proper professional help that is needed.
This hospital has a bad rating for a reason (BEWARE). After waiting for almost 2 hours in the ER, my mother was finally taken back to an ER room. She’s been to this hospital before (yes they were bad then too but it was an emergency) so she was familiar with some of the staff. In the ER room was a very rude nurse tech (?) who was asked questions by other staff and rolled his eyes and just blatantly said “no” to requests. Her actual nurse was nice but was struggling with putting fluids in so she decided to leave it for the next shift which came over an hour later. They didn’t want my mother to leave because she needed fluid and was loosing blood but didn’t end up hydrating her until hours after they said they would. Also, unrelated to my mother, we watched a nurse drop a spoon then wipe it on her shirt and still give it to a patient... how disgusting. My mom also has sever bruising on her backside and requested extra bedding or something to help alleviate the pain was was told they would bring her something multiple times but unsurprisingly never did. My mother has finally been moved into an upstairs room and has waited to see a doctor for over 5 hours. They will keep telling you that “things are coming” but it never does. They also don’t listen to what you have to tell them about your body and insist that they are capable of doing things they can’t, in our case it is maintaining an IV. Horrible experiences at Abrazo Central and unless it’s a complete emergency then we will not be back.
I am a type 1 diabetic that came in with blood sugars in the 850 range. When I initially came into the ER the staff was very attentive and got me in the back right away...but that’s where that ended. I was in the ER with the most rude service I’ve ever experienced before in my life and I’ve been diabetic for 33 years! I wasn’t kept up to date on what my sugars were and I don’t know what happened with my IV but there was a very excruciating pain that went from my elbow to my shoulder. I was literally in so much pain that I was in tears! When I told my nurse about it he seemed not to really care and stated that if he could flush my IV it was fine and that he would advise my doctor. My doctor never came in. I yelled to just come and take my IV out and was ignored. Because I was alone the patient next to me girlfriend advised my nurse that I wanted my IV taken out and wanted to leave. My doctor still never came. The rude nurse came to take my IV out very aggressively. As I left a nicer nurse asked if I’d been discharged and I advised her of the care I’d been receiving, she advised me to wait and that she would get me help. After that I collapsed to the floor where several staff members walked past me without acknowledgement. The one nurse that did say anything to me at this point was very rude and asked me my name. She asked me wasn’t i supposed to be leaving. I just broke down crying. I’d never been treated this way before. This was the worse experience I’ve ever had in a hospital!
I’ve been here a few times , I have even had surgery here because I had a bowel obstruction each time I have been here I’ve started at the ER. I kid you not everytime there has been rude staff or someone that discredits my pain because of my age. Staff is extremely rude and unprofessional. I was in twice recently with COVID and I’m pregnant, I could not keep water down, I had the chills pretty bad and was in a lot of pain, haven’t eaten in days, you’d think the second time I’m back for pain and not being able to keep water down due to puking they’d at least try to hydrate me , nope they just tested me again and gave me medicine to help with my throat , never checked to make sure everything else was okay or nothing. Was such a waste of time and I still have not gotten any better. It’s very sad how they treat younger patients just because we are young, and clearly can’t be in pain. The doctor I had the first time I was there this week for COVID was amazing but I also didn’t test positive for COVID that time around but he did everything in his power to make sure before I left that I was at least feeling somewhat better, second time back was such a waste of time not to be taken care of at all. Also side note I have paid so much out of my own pocket to this hospital that my insurance doesn’t cover for me to not be heard. I don’t plan on ever using this emergency room ever again.
Have been here a week. Nurses and staff have been amazing to me the whole time. The doctors on the other hand are far out there. The first told me my prognosis was simply all in my head and that I should do hypnotism to see what comes out I'm holding back and whats "actually" causing my disease. The second refused my request for a second opinion (a simple CT scan). And now the third has been putting on assessing me until finally today. For a test I know you get back same day as I have had the same test done once before. He's claiming he won't be able to read it until tomorrow or the next day. I'm blaming pure malpractice and negligence. I could've at least been given a complete diagnosis and treatment by now but to no avail here. I have a young son that needs me home so I am choosing to leave AMA by a certain time today if the doctor "still hasn't seen my results" or with my luck and him knowing I'm not sticking around another day or two, he will just keep getting it pushed further back. So they have until my pre set time to at least get the test done before I leave. This is one of the worst hospitals I have been to. But Abrazo ANY CAMPUS takes the cake for being the highest for malpractice and negligence cases just based off facts of my own experiences at them and friends and families and clearly the internet. GI physician in question is Dr Matlin
I came into the hospital with a high blood sugar and an infection, they admitted me I stayed in the emergency department for almost 24 hours came at 7pm and left against medical advice at 4pm the next day, first there air was broken so the emergency room was hit, secondly I didn't see my morning nurse till 1pm she stated I was sleeping so wanted to leave me alone, my breakfast was delivered but no insulin and they ordered me pancakes with regular syrup, then comes lunch nurse was in my room when tray came in she told me to start eating and she would be back in a minute to give my insulin and headache medicine I asked for, I fell asleep after eating and woke up 1 and a half hours later called the nurse to see when my insulin was coming and headache medicine was told she was waiting for my tray to come explained she was in there when my tray came, I asked the nurse 3 times to take my iv out so I could go to another hospital she told me she was waiting on the dr aboit 4 hours later i asked ahain and she said again she was waoting on the drs told her she had been waiting, the tech comes in about 20 minute later ans says we need to hook u up to these machines pulse, heart rate asled her why as it was almost 4pm and i hadnt been hooked up, finally asled her to take my iv out amd she did and i left
I brought my friend to the emergency room because he was suffering from multiple symptoms from his leg to his head. They couldn't determine what was the problem in the ER so they admitted him. He wast there for 3 days and they never gave him a diagnosis or explanation for what was wrong with him. All they did was treat the symptoms he was having and that was it. We don't know if his symptoms will come back or what he should do to prevent it from happening again no guidance or after care was provided except he should continue to rest for a few days. I feel if you are ill enough to go to the ER, they should determine what is wrong with you, not just treat your symptoms. Some kind explanation as to what the cause was or a diagnosis of what kind of illness you suffer from. Finally, I believe they are also responsible for figuring out how or what you can do to prevent it from happening again. Health care has become very sloppy and ineffective at their fundamental levels. We are supposed the country with the greatest Healthcare in the world. The best!! I don't believe they are living up to that standard anymore. Abrazo Central Campus is just getting by with the bare minimum of care and processing out patients as quickly as they can. Without regard for the patients.
Not great...they said there were no nurses in the ER. I was there for 4 hours, getting called to different places. Triaged in the front room behind the check-in desk, sent back to my seat. Seen by a physician's assistant, sent back to my seat. Called to the front room again, given a medication, sent back to my seat. Then someone came to do registration. Then called to the front room and asked for pharmacy information, I told her I wanted to go across the street to the CVS inside Target and she wanted an address b/c she "doesn't live around here." I'm looking for it and she says she'll just give me a paper prescription, sent back to my seat. Over an hour later, she brings me back and says they couldn't do a paper script and did I find the address. I said yeah and start to give it to her, but she interrupts and asks the name of the pharmacy. I said CVS and again try to give her the address, but she only wants the cross streets, which I'd already told her 2 hours before and which weren't good enough because she apparently doesn't know what intersection her job is at. Then I had to wait even longer to get discharge paperwork. The place was a shambles, with everyone in the waiting room getting called to and fro. Never going there again.
This is the worst hospital to go to. If you are able to go literally anywhere else please do for your health! They don’t care about the people in my time here they: argued with a discharged patient to wait outside, had about 5 squatters inside when I came in at 10am, they tried to remove those squatters while talking to me and not paying attention to what they are doing and what I am saying. There was someone who passed out right outside the emergency and there was no rush to help, they actually didn’t acknowledge it at first even when other patients were bringing it to their attention. They didn’t label my urine sample I hope they used mine for my lab. They don’t take you to any room for blood work or to talk about what’s going on. They didn’t know if I had my CT scan done or not and when I told them they should have this information they changed to an annoyed tone told me they don’t know. I never go to anywhere except St. Joseph’s and I should’ve stuck with that. They argue with almost every patient instead of being understanding that we’re all in pain. 3 hours later I get told “I have no idea what’s wrong with you”. Wasted time and money and no result I’m so upset and don’t know who to complain to
My wife has been in pain for 24 hours for stomach ulcers. We already know the problem and so today. Normally she would have a lot of cane drink that would take the pain away until the next about arises but there is a shortage a lidocaine so we came to this Hospital in the hopes that they could ease her pain for a short period of time and I have been to veterinary hospitals that take better care of their patients then abrazo. This hospital is in an area that is infected with homelessness and drug addicts that they must pass every day to come and leave work and because of that the staff has become stereotypical and they have no empathy for people that come in in pain they automatically assume that every person is a drug addict looking for their next fix well I hate to tell you this in abrao but a lidocaine Shake is not a fix it is a pain reliever and because of your terrible treatment of my wife I can only hope that it happens to each and every one of your own family members and then you might know how it feels when you needed to be treated humanely but you're not. You have no business being in the business of taking care of hard-working Folk. I would never send anybody to this hospital it's a joke
Would give zero stars if available. I just left this ER after waiting 6 hours. I was in a car accident earlier and was told by my accident attorney to use this ER. I sat for 2 hours in the lobby after triage and X-rays were ordered (just like I was directed). It was only when my sister went up and asked how much longer on the wait for X-ray that we were told OOPS I needed a urine sample. What would have happened if I kept sitting there? I finally got X-rays done, was again sent back to the lobby and continued to sit there waiting for a provider’s visit. When my mom went up and asked for the status of a provider (given I was waiting for another 2 hours) the RN told her that I had already seen a provider and that they were working on discharge paperwork for me. I in fact NEVER saw a provider. I left after that. 6 hours in pain and I felt like NO ONE cared. DO NOT GO HERE!!! You’ll waste your time. It is now 12:30 AM and I am on my way to a different ER. I’ll make sure my lawyer never recommends this ER again. I am still in tremendous pain and in awestruck at how rude and slow of an ER this is. They better not bill my insurance for a Dr’s visit. TERRIBLE EMERGENCY ROOM!!!! So disappointed.
I went into the hospital yesterday morning around 1030am. I sat in the lobby until 630pm and was never once treated for what I went in for, nor seen a doctor. Most of the nurses were rude, expect for one which I wish I grabbed her name. All of your care is done in the lobby so anything that is normally discussed in private is shared with the whole lobby around you. To me, this is a huge violation of HIPPA. During the 8 hours I was there, they continued to call back names that didn’t even exist. The nurses were complaining of being short staffed and there only being 2 of them and nowhere to put patients. Although this may be stressful to them, being sick is stressful too and the last thing we need is nurses being rude. One the nurses told a guy to stop talking over her when he never did. I was sitting right there. This is not a true emergency room so if you have an emergency, go to a Banner health before abrazo. I admitted into a different hospital immediately upon arrival with the same symptoms I had when arriving at Abrazo so to me, this also shows a lack of concern. My body was shutting down and without the treatment I received somewhere else, you all could have had a lawsuit.
I would give this place zero stars if I could. Singlehandly the worst hospital I’ve ever been to. I originally came here to get seen for a concussion and they choose to admit me just because I said I was suicidal hours ago and not know. The next 16 hours that transpired were the most traumatic thing ive ever experienced. Jacob of the nurses yelled at me and treated me awful bc my IV fell off. He was also pressuring me to tell my mom about what happened. Then I got another nurse named Del and he was also very rude and refused to give me Tylenol after I asked three times. Absolutely ridiculous. All the staff ignored my pain. They didn’t even let me use the Tv too and made me sit in silence because I was struggling. I finally got to talk to a counselor after 15 hours and then it took another two hours plus hours to discharge me. The last nurse I had was the only one that took me seriously. I’m not sure what her name was but she was great along with the two watchers I had. I will never be back here and let me warn you to anyone else that don’t come here if you have mental health problems because you will get treated by noting by this incompetent staff
My wife is a type 1 diabetic. She is insulin dependent and is on a pump. She was going into DKA. She was rushed to the hospital by ambulance around 3am. She had not eaten food in 24 hours due to her throwing up from being sick. We informed the hospital workers that she hasn’t eaten and she can’t hold down liquids. She went into the hospital with her sugar resting at 480(it’s suppose to be 100.) they barley did anything and released her with no word of what she has, they also released her with her sugar at 400, again it’s suppose to be 100-120. We got home and she threw up every liquid they pumped her with. I had to take her to a different hospital where she will be for the next 2 days, because this hospital doesn’t care about their patients. She was in serious DKA when we arrived at the new hospital. She couldn’t walk, she couldn’t talk, she was pale and passing out from her symptoms. I’m not trying to be dramatic but DKA is deadly. She could have died and this “hospital” (I use that word Hospital loosely with them )released her anyways. NEVER GO HERE EVER, also we have insurance that covers everything.
this hospital doesn’t deserve anything at all my grandma came here a couple weeks ago suffered from Covid and needed oxygen and they didn’t give her medications no water nothing to feed her and let her pee on her self they couldn’t at least put a diaper on her they just left her in that room with nothing but a oxygen tank we immediately took her out of that hospital and took her to St.Joseph and started recovering quicker, now she’s home and better. The doctors laughed at her when another doctor said “god bless you” and the other doctor said “god won’t help her” and started laughing. When they knew we were taking her out that hospital a doctor got mad because he/she tried ejecting her with something she didn’t know what it was and she wasn’t told what it was so my grandma refused to be injected with something she wasn’t told about. The doctor got mad and started throwing everything and ripping the tubes off her. Never again Definitely Recommend St.Joseph they helped her right away and always made sure she was okay and she was given what she was needed at St.Joseph
We had a wonderful experience and a horrible experience at this hospital. My mother was flown into this location. She had a massive stroke and we had to make the decision to take her off life support. She was taken up to ICU from emergency and made comfortable until our family could get there. We had the fortune to have Mitch an RN take care of her. Even though there was no signs of life he treated her with kindness and respect and us as well. I cannot say enough about his professionalism and compassion. After my mother passed, we waited 2-1/2 hours for a doctor to come in the room to pronounce her. The Dr. finally walked in without apology for how long we waited for him and blurted out he had to examine her. He looked at her eyes, took her pulse and listened to her heart and then turned around and walked out of the room without saying one word to us. I would say HE had no heartbeat. So callous to a family who just lost a loved one. Unacceptable!!!! I would mention his name but he never told us and they can't release it until paperwork is completed.
I have never had an issue with this place so many nurses and were confused on why I was there went in for them to see why my throat hurt and I couldn't swallow so then I was like ok wth going to see if they can check my heart pains which accumulated to deal with so many different doctors from cardiologist, pulmonary, to GI and more I was admitted the same night but did not get a room till 10 hrs later stayed inside the ER room till another 12 hrs or more then admitted to upstairs for 2 days after being observed and so many blood test and speaking with doctors CT scans and more . It was a roller coaster 3 days later I had them checked about my throat as I was in pain for the 4 days I was there never got a real answer did have phenomena. Got antibiotics after 4th day they wanted to leave me again I said no I wanna go home. Smh never again will I go to this place doctors and nurses were awesome just was so many confusion . The wires for heart monitors and such were ripped off my chest right before I was transferred upstairs
If I could rate this hospital a 0 it would be a 0. I wasn't even the patient. My mom was the patient for about 11 days just this past weekend. She had a major surgery. Since before the surgery until the discharge her without consenting with the family on the facility without so much as to meeting this "Case manager" worst experience EVER!!! and my mom has been through some surgeries and we have never ever been treated this way. This hospital LACKS communication between ALL departments to even the families. I had to be the advocate for my mom and even then that only put a dent in my voice. I was tired of hearing "It is not my job". The process has to be easier than this. We pre-registered and even with that there was still so many issues. Unbelievable. I took to social media with family and friends that work in the medical field and they found my process very disturbing and appalled. So I have voiced to everyone to avoid this hospital at all costs
First I want thank the staff from the ICU unit, (Jennifer) who was our nurse During the first phase of my husbands stroke. I want to thank Darlene from occupational training when we were on the second floor during the second phase of our recovery. I also want to thank Fernando who brought laughter to my husband during his recovery. I want to thank the acute rehabilitation unit, I want to thank Heather, Summer, Stephanie, Maureen the nurses that brought pleasure to our stay. I want to thank the entire therapist staff, who worked with my husband each day to help him become independent again. Your staff is your hospital. We are blessed to have been with each and everyone of you. We won’t forget you and we will continue to pray for everyone in the hospital and your staff. After 30 days of being in the hospital I have to say it was an honor being with each of you on each floor that we spent. Today my husband‘s coming home. Thank you Obezo family
My mom Mary Bagwell was at the rehab center here at abrazo central campus, and since family could not visit due to covid-19 she asked me to do this review for her and these are her words -she had a wonderful experience, everyone that came into contact with my mom was extremely helpful, professional, and very knowledgeable, she fell in love with the therapist kristy, and Remmie were the two that worked with her the most, all the nurses that took care of my mom where just wonderful and she fell in love with them as well, mom said that the center was very very clean and everyone was so sweet, and as for the food she said it was really good as well, she was disappointed that she couldn't get pot roast, lol! She wanted to thank everyone at the rehab center for taking such good care of her, and i as well want to thank everyone as well, and if the rating of a 10+ mom would for sure give yall a 10+from my mom and myself thank you very very much.❤
Had surgery done on Dec. 20th. Felt like I was herded in and out. They wanted copay up front. I had my surgery. Was not even awake from the anesthesia for an hour before they took me to the bathroom and ushered me out the door. Couldn't go to thebathroom. Told them I couldn't go. She said oh that is okay you'll be able to go later. Put me in a wheelchair and sent me out the door. I had a hysterectomy done. As far as I last knew you had to be able to go to the bathroom before they released you. The only instructions they gave me was you can take a shower tomorrow and resume your normal diet. That was it! The tracking thing didn't work. So my husband had no clue what was going on with me. Horrible experience! I had to drive over 100 miles to do this surgery. I will not go back there again. I will warn anyone that is scheduled to go there to not go there. They do not care about any of their patients. Complete incompetence in my opinion.
I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE! People were being mistreated, and being discharged before even speaking with a Doctor. This is a shame! The same happened to me I was in a car accident and need test done. Waited 2 hours for my vitals and 2 hours to be discharged without speaking to a doctor. Homeless people need help or came in with pain, the would automatically discharged them and would politely ask to speak with a doctor and would kicked them out. Security needs training had the biggest attitude towards everyone saying thinks like “that’s not my job” “im just security”, “I don’t get payed to do that” then would go back to the front desks and laugh and make fun of patients in Spanish. Luckily I am fluent in both Spanish and English and saw this. This completely goes against HIPPA because the would talk about why patient were there and make fun of them to security, not even a doctor!! Not to mention this place is unsanitary! DISGUSTING
The only thing that made this place worth it to stay was my day nurse Thomas on second floor and samantha and amanda from the ER grave are awesome the only high lights of stay Those three nurses were the only nurses that I had that I could ask them questions and they would not be rude they did not feel like I was obligating them or taking up their time just ask them a question I had made a emergency request on my nurse pager when I did that I can hear them laughing and talking and joking in the background but they would not respond to me I sat like this for 20 minutes I will never come back to this hospital even if it is a life and death situation!!!!! PS I am currently admitted to the hospital waiting for my discharge that I requested!!! As i was being discharged the nurse took my iv and through it in the trash can with the bio hazard bin like 3 feet away i will be reporting you to ohsa and bbb
If I could give negative stars I would! We spent all day in the emergency room after being sent there by my child's primary care physician. The doctor who took care of my son was amazing. Omar and Heather in triage are awesome though. However- we never got taken to a room. The nurses were rude to patients, to each other and to other staff! Literally they were yelling at each other. My son was in severe abdominal pain, and we kept getting pushed back to the waiting room. They had beds available- the problem is they didn’t have enough nurses to watch them. My son had an issue getting an iv started so they briefly took him to a room- and the nurse said “I’m not watching him”. Then she was yelling “are you looking for a 15 year old who has an issue with ivs?” Oh yea- he totally loved that! He passed out twice today because they kept DIGGING for an IV. Just save yourself- go somewhere else.
My parent was in an accident nearby on the freeway, so we came here for treatment. You know, you'd never think to check the rating of a hospital, a restaurant sure, but not a hospital. We made that mistake of not checking. The entire visit just felt off. Like we were a nuisance to the ER staff. We were in and out. The doctor visited with us for less than a few minutes and already made a diagnosis. The pain injection my parent got was over excessive in dosage. The nurse who assisted us, looked irritated. The cleaning staff helped theirselves inside our exam room to take out the trash, didn't say a word to us. Another employee let's himself in, to restock gowns, etc in our exam room. On top of that, the exam room was shared with another patient, the only thing separating us was an old, ripped curtain. We laughed on the way out because we couldn't believe what a joke this hospital is.
ER Review: The nurse Erik is absolutely OUTSTANDING. He was the only nurse in the ER Admit and absolutely handled it with a great attitude and made me feel so cared for. That being said, Abrazo, one nurse for the ER Admit??? Are you trying to lose your crew? On top of that, there were people in absolute pain (myself included), doctors order morphine for myself and one other person but because there are no rooms were available and we can't be monitored 24/7 we get no pain relief? Erik absolutely handled it for me and was able to move me in plain view with a monitor and get me IM morphine but this is a problem that Abrazo needs to fix. My nurse should not have to advocate for me to get pain relief there should be more than one nurse so that they can monitor when rooms are full. If I ever have to come here again, if Erik isn't here I ain't either lol
This is by far the worst hospital I have ever went too. I arrived around 7am on 06/13/22 and was treated like some kind of junkie. I was in serve pain due to a migraine, but later found out from another hospital that I had covid. I was there over 10 hours with only a cat scan done. I still haven't gotten the results... I ended up leaving and going to a different hospital that treated me 100% like a human being. Abrazo is a joke. The staff was disrespectful and even laughed at me when I was in pain. They lied to me over and over again. There hospital was dirty and on top of that they forged my initials on documents. I didn't sign anything. ( which I have proof.) I left after 10 hours of disrespect and embarrassment. I would think twice before coming here. BANNER IS 100% BETTER. ESPECIALLY IF YOU WANT TO BE TREATED LIKE A HUMAN BEING.
They are not worth even a half a star. They could care less about anyones well being. When you go there be prepared to fend for yourself. No one listens to you and you don't get no help. If they are understaffed then why don't they hire some more help. Personally I am worried sick for my Dad. It might be to late and I hold this Hospital accountable for anything that happens to him. The worst hospital ever. It made me have to give this hospital a star just to be able to post. It does not deserve a star. I go back to look at the response from the Hospital on everyones reviews and how sad to see what you wrote. Its always the same thing it must be a robot answering these reviews. The ones that gave five stars must be friends or family members of the staff. Thats against Googles Policy by the way to have people fake reviews.
I took my sister to the hospital because she had an allergic reaction to a medication she was prescribed, the same medication she took prior. She had mild hives on her body nobody looked at them, by the time I went to pick her up I was absolutely shocked to see when she came out the hospital she was FULL OF HIVES and they did absolutely nothing. I had to take her to a different location urgently because she got all swollen up. The doctors and nurses from the second location were shocked because she didn’t receive any proper care. After 6 medication, an injection and anti-inflammatory medicine she started looking normally. If you don’t like your job just say that. It’s ridiculous. Clearly everybody is burned out from working. They need better management and better people. Please do better, she could’ve died.
I got run over by a car and the emergency staff were all amazing. super fast service with an OR slot and specialist orthopedic surgeon to operate in less than 24 hours. they tried everything they could to manage my pain but unfortunately I'm immune to the effects of narcotics. the food there was really good too, surprising for a hospital. when seeing these bad reviews, I asked around the different staff and I learned that almost all were inherited from the old banner this hospital used to fly under (phoenix baptist) which have all been painstakingly rectified over the last year or so. My nurse Jeff was absolutely amazing and all of the staff had great attitudes toward me and my situation. even with COVID keeping my family and friends from visiting, they made me feel like family as much as possible.
Worst experience ever last night. Took my spouse here and Dr. R was terrible( removed his name because I was advised by hospital that he could take me to court). I feel this was a warning that i need to watch myself or there will be trouble for me.He not only yelled in my spouse's face but on top of that cussed him out on the way out the room. I think he thought we couldn't hear him but we did loud and clear. After this we left the hospital. I called after leaving and they treated as nothing. Then called this morning and it seems they don't really care about how their doctors miss treat people. It was really sad because back when it was Phoenix Baptist they treated people better. Just to say the nurses were amazing and we know they have it worst then the doctors. Good job to them
My son broke his wrist/arm at school. We brought him to this location for treatment. The nurses and doctors were fine but the doctor referred to an ortho specialist and said he would give us a referral. We set up the appointment with the specialist after they called us but the doctor from the hospital never gave us a referral. When we called the hospital back the women was very rude and said they don't do referrals. We are sitting at the specialists office with the so called referral that they will not accept. I don't think it's fair that the hospital referred us but didn't give us the correct paperwork. Now we have to pay for this hospital visit even though we have insurance. Never using this pos hospital again. Phoenix Children's hospital here we come..............
My wife and i came here today to have our son. We pulled up to the main enterence to.the hospital and i went in to get her wheelchair in there is no one at the front desk. After that went went through the ER, everyone was fast and friendly. We were then taken to delivery triage, the wait was a little long, but they were very busy, there were 5 other pregnant ladies there right at the same time. After my wife was admitted, we moved to the delivery room. Everyone was very friendly, informative and helpful. Our nurse Josephine was the best. She was with us from start til finish. Both the delivery room and the recovery room were very nice, and comfortable. The triage was a little lack-luster, but overall, Phoenix Baptist has once agian proven to be a very good hospital.
My adult son is in this hospital right now. He is quite difficult at times. The Drs and surgeon explained what was going to happen prior to his surgery. The OR nurses were informative, professional yet compassionate. Most of the nurses and other staff have been very kind to him as well as to myself. The staff explain everything to him before the do anything. The PCAs have been kind and helpful as well. Saturday at approximately 1:15pm I went to the cafeteria to get something to eat. I asked the a dietary person where to pay and she told me my meal was on them. I guess I looked pretty worn out. The lady in the gift shop was so positive and greeted me with a big smile. My son has been treated well since being here. I feel he is in good hands at this hospital.
The people at this hospital need more hospitality and sensitivity classes, professional development, and training. The medical staff do not seem to communicate with each other, many times a tech would come in and be confused about things and notice mistakes of other med staff. Not supportive at all for my husbamd that just had a heart attack. The food and security staff are also very insensitive and unprofessional. They should be ashamed of themselves for how they treat patients. Especially the cafeteria staff, no sensitivity for people suffering medically and emotionally. Even the doctors dont seem to want to talk to patients with effort, motivation or sensitivity. In a world full of sufferring this should be a place of kindness.
This is the worst hospital ever I went there with . Diverticulitis spent 7 days in . There they messed up on my diabetic diet for 5 days. Giving me the wrong food. Then they couldn't find a vein. I had bruises everywhere . Then I went in for my surgery, the bathrooms weren't clean, and again they messed up on my diabetic diet. And I wasn't even in there 2 days, and they rushed me out to go home after having major surgery, no compassion at this hospital. Don't care about the patients. I was supposed to be in there for 5 days. They rushed out into knowing that I had no one to come and pick me up from home. Thank you, Baptist, the only person in there that was kind was . The phlebotomist.thank you for being loving and caring
The ER is never where you want to end up with your child, so I’m happy that the experience was pleasant for both my daughter and me. Every single person treated my daughter with care and concern. Even gave her blankets to use while in the lobby. I appreciate that even though she’s only 6, that they treated her with respect and asked her questions about her condition instead of me. It is her body after all. They made sure she knew it was ok to tell them everything going on with her. I wish I remembered the name of the nurse who works up front because she was great. She made my daughter feel safe and cared for. She also kept us up to date with every part of the process. We are thankful to her and everyone else there ❤️
Do not ever go to this hospital. It is absolutely the worst hospital I have ever been at! Cold and uncaring staff to the point of rudeness, and actual line. Left me out in the lobby to wait when I shouldn't even be up right and tried to get me to sit in a broken wheelchair. Told him I couldn't sit up I needed to be lying down because of the vertigo and they wanted me to set up anyway. I was freezing and they said they'd get me a blanket and the tech disappeared and never came back. I asked the receptionist forest and finally she called Security on me told me to lose the attitude and they wanted me to leave right then. You cannot believe this place. It's like a prison campus and they do not care. Stay away from it!
The lack of empathy is beyond sickening. The staff is having laughs and shaking everyone off they can with sorry’s . My wife was throwing up in the waiting room for 2 hours and still to this very moment we are being passed back , have information taken, then placed back out front with little to nothing done. The lights have now been dimmed and no urgency is being shown.and the lady at the front desk is just on here phone. Update 2:19am We are still in the waiting room , people keep coming in on an ambulance, and we are still here waiting for an IV to be given to my wife 2 hours after the CT Scan was done. There is no hope of getting in anytime soon. People just walk out, out of frustration. But obviously in pain
I had to visit this ER 1/2/2022 I was in and out in 4 hours I had labs done and a CT. I had a good experience in this place.. +The Dr was really nice and explained everything really well. I was given good advice on follow up care. The staff from check in to the nurses were very nice! I must do a shout out to Jeovanni and Dell in the ER Dept they were especially nice to me! They made a scary situation feel so much better! The male nurse (4pm to 8pm) that was on this shift went out of his way to be oh so kind! If I move across town I will have to travel to go to this hospital. They made being in pain a little easier for me! The place was clean too.. It was kinda chilly in there. That's my complaint! Lol
My mother was admitted to Abrazo Central after she was found unresponsive in her bed. The ER staff was great! They got her emergency medical needs handled. The ICU staff was decent. Then she was moved to the 2nd floor, Telemetry. This staff was HORRIBLE!! We had one nurses aid who was really nice, but the nurses were rude, aggressive, and defensive when asked about my mother's progress in my absence. I had been told by others that the hospital was sub par, but now that I have experienced it first hand, I know it's true! Very sad to treat family this way when they are just concerned for their loved ones well being. If it hadn't been an emergency I would never have had her brought here. Live and learn!
Extremely displeased with care and staff: My dad went in because of several health concerns and it was clear to anyone in healthcare (and not) that he was not all there mentally because of the health problems. I continued on deaf ears it felt to say to staff and nurses please call me so I can know what’s going on as well as improvement or options. Complete silence no calls nothing and nurses had no answers besides I don’t know or ask the doctor who we never seen or met. It felt they did the bare minimum and are discharging him asap. He was left several times unhooked from Iv’s after using restroom after paging nurses station they took their sweet time coming to room. It’s been horrible!!
I was bleeding profusely from a large area of skin removed on my shoulder due to a large benign skin cancer removal earlier in the day. I have never seen so much real blood, in person, at least not in person, anyway. It was pooling up in my seat, and dripping off of my back and arms. The staff got on me immediately. I was losing a lot of blood, and they were having a hard time stopping it. P.A. Phillip Buck found a small bleeding artery and tied it off. It worked! I suppose the material surrounding the artery hadn’t been cut all the way through earlier, and it wore itself open later. The staff was very professional and compassionate. They literally saved my life. I am very grateful.
Worst medical service ever I received. They gave me ER medical service at hallway on a chair 7pm til 2am. I have chest pain and uncomfortable sitting on chair so long. I asked the doctor to getting a room and he said that I would look for you and then he’s not coming back. I let to know a nurse my chests pain is worse and the nurse gave me a shot. After that I felt dizziness. I asked the nurse get a room. I didn’t get. When I looked at time it was 2am and I couldn’t sitting on the chair anymore. I was leaving myself and I didn’t do check out. So I’m giving my experience to other people don’t getting it. They’re not giving free service. They charged from our medical insurance.
Worst communication, lady unprofessional walked away when she started conversation all because her co worker didn’t communicate how my wife was doing over hour and half waiting on her well being . Hold this younger generation accountable just because you work at a hospital don’t give you power privilege we are all the same at the end of the day. I Understand busy been in customer service for 16 years but communication needs to be prioritized better. Funny lady tried so hard to get me kicked out called security and cops why I say using power privileges for wrong reasons should be worried about ppl in need not people expressing the issues that need to be addressed.
Today I had an appointment in the Endoscopy department.for a preventative colonoscopy. An RN named Betty was my intake Nurse. This lady was amazing! She was so knowledgeable about her job, made me at ease from the moment I met her, and made what I was expecting to be a terrible experience into a very easy experience. After I awoke in the recovery unit following my procedure it was so comforting to have her there to explain what had taken place during my procedure, instructions for the rest of my day, and how I was to follow up with the doctor. I am very appreciative for this RN named Betty and her wonderful professionalism and genuine care for me as her patient.
This is the worst hospital in the state of Arizona. I will be submitting a formal complaint/grievance relative to my experience. At this point all I am trying to do is get my medical records online and no one can seem to have the access to send me a new invitation link.. I have called records, registration, online support to no avail and keep getting sent in circles. Then I say ok I will fill out the records form and thier is no fax listed on the form to return it to.. lol like every thing about this place is a joke.. so now I have to track down a fax number and pray it’s the right one and wait for who knows how long for my records. This is delaying my care!!!
This hospital does not deserve any stars at all!! They have the worst nurses and doctors ever. They didn't know what time they gave medications to patient. After that they were asked if she gotten her medication already and they would say "I don't know". We were told the procedure of how she was going to get transferred. Afterwards they told us that the patient was doing fine and that she can get transferred to the facility where she was going to be hospitalized, but when she got to the place she was with any oxygen at all!! We weren't notified at all. She passed away because she didn't get well treated. Please be careful where you choose to take your family.
There should be an option for no stars! This hospital is absolute garbage. My grandmother fell the other day and got sent here, they did ‘tests’ that came out clear and we were told she can go home the next day. Then within a few hours she had to go in for a life threatening surgery. Getting information about her is near impossible let alone speaking with her. Everyone who answers the phones are nothing but rude and have extremely bad attitudes. Absolutely the worst place I’ve ever heard of, most of my family lives out of state and if she has no access to her cell phone and they refuse to help us talk to her then how are we going to? -1000000000000 stars.
My mother came here for kidney failure and a stomach blockage. They put the tube in wrong and she suffered for 2 good hours before someone noticed. The night staff does ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. Patients are ignored and left alone no help won't even turn off beeping machines when they come in. Pathetic excuse for a hospital. Unknowledgeable, extremely long wait times, rude staff. 2 hours to get nurses in your room for anything. In waiting room for 2 hours before getting into emergency room and 17 hours to be admitted. They should shut this place down. Human torture really for patients who rely on their staff, who are in pain and rely on staff to do their jobs.
My family member was recently at Abrazzo Central. We used the ICU, surgery, telemetry unit and the inpatient rehab hospital on the 1st floor. We spent almost a month with our family member in this facility. My family has nothing but great things to say about the care received. Time after time we were amazed by the kindness and caring nature of everyone that worked with the patient. People went above and beyond to ensure that he and we were treated well. We are so thankful for the skilled and talented staff, the efforts to go above and beyond and the warmth that we all received. What a great place. Thanks to every member of the Abrazzo Central team.
It’s always just luck of the draw some doctors and nurses here are amazing. I think in all the chaos they deal with sometimes they can lose their compassion. But u have to remember their seeing a lot of NOT HURT people (if u know what I mean) so now WE the people have to take the brunt of them trying to figure out if your one of those so called “in pain” clients. I’m sure it frustrates them. They’re dealing with rude people all day. Soo even after all that I appreciate them so much. They have saved me personally lots of times . So Thank You Doctors and Nurses and everyone else there from the paper pushers to the cleaning staff. I appreciate you
Do not come here. You might leave worse off than when you came in. Filthy and falling apart. The front dest lady qas not only rude and dismissive to me. But they broke the camels back when I saw them dismiss a man trying to walk after a fall and now has staples in his head. I asked for a wheelchair for him 3 times and was ignored. Other waiting patients were helping him to a chair. When his rifle De came several patients helped him out I clouding myself. He walked with shaking and unbalanced movement and spoke ask a serious head injury would leave someone. I SHOULD NOT LEAVE A PLACE ASKI G WHERE THE HUMANITY HAS GONE. Abrazo should be ashamed.
I am writing this for my Mom (Mary Bagwell) she wanted everyone to know her experience in the Rehabilitation Center was wonderful the staff treated her like she was part of their family. All of her nurses, doctors and her physical therapist treated her with respect and kindness, she also said the food was good. I want to thank Helga for being polite and patient with me and answering all my questions this made it much easier for my Mom to be there without her family being able to visit because of Caronavirous. My mom is home now and she is doing good. I want to thank all the staff members for the kindness they showed towards my mom and I.
I have been to this hospital many times. I've had horrible drs. there. One dr in the er told me I was stupid because I had sprained my wrist from a slip that wasn't my fault. Another time I had gotten my tubes tied and I specifically told them I couldn't do a opioid as a pain med after but the drs still gave me oxycodone and I had a lot of problems after. When I had given birth to my son last year a nurse had held my knees together while my son's head was already coming out and I had told the nurse she said "so what". There has been some nicer drs and nurses there tho who have been very hospitable and we had a nicer experience with them.
Horrible people. My dad is in ICU and when I called to get information the nurse just said too bad and hung up on me. Now I have called back and I’m waiting to speak with a nurse to get an update on my dad and I have been on hold for 25 minutes at this point and still on hold. I have never dealt with such rude people and at a time when we are wondering if my father will even make it I feel like he is definitely not in the right hospital. They clearly have zero concern for the patient or the patients family and if they don’t care then how can you expect that they are properly caring for your loved ones. A very sad excuse for a hospital.
I just got done with my physical therapy at the lymphedema clinic there and take cabs through my insurance and knew it would take a while so I grabbed a drink and snack at the gift shop which the physical therapy employees are great and the lady at the gift shop was great as well but I saw outside is windy and hot I asked can I wait inside for my cab the lady behind the desk in main entrance told me I have to wait outside as I was already discharged I have allergies and she insisted me to wait outside the the hot weather as well as it was windy today. I know already it takes up to 30 minutes to a hour to get my cab.this was not right.
My mother was admitted to the ER after cardiac arrest. The nurses and staff have been incredible and so caring. It has been very tough and although my mother has been transferred to hospice I don’t think I could have made the tough decisions that needed to be made without all the information and support from the caring professionals at this facility. One nurse cane in on her day off to check on us, a security guard came during her break to bring us tissues. It has been tough, basically living in a waiting room, but the staff make this place amazing. I’m very happy my mother was brought here and my family can’t thank the staff enough.
I should have known better than to seek care in a facility that averages 2 stars but I gave them benefit of the doubt. As my vitals are being checked by 2 nurses, the doctor begins to screen me and ask questions. Imagine being talked to by 3 different people, one of which is suppose to properly diagnose you. I did not receive the care I stopped in for and on top of that the lady in the payroll department gave me problems that will have to be resolved through my HC provider. Please don’t go seek care here. Update: They left a generated response to my review, which I followed up via email. It’s been a week and NO REPLY.
This hospital definitely does not deserve any stars!!!! It was sad to see how many of the patients had been miss treated by staff. the staff is very unknowledgeble. I checked in online to be here at 6pm for what I thought a faster process got here 5 min before 6pm it is damn near 11pm and I'm still in the waiting area. I've asked front what is going on and all she says is they will call you when they are ready for you like that is her only response NEVER EVER AGAIN NOW I KNOW WHY 6 YEARS AGO I WENT WITH MY MOTHER GUT FEELING WHEN GIVING BIRTH TO MY TWINS IMMEDIATELY SWITCHED TO GOOD OLD ST JOSEPH'S HOSPITAL ALWAYS ON POINT!!!
I would highly recommend avoiding this place. The staff wasn’t bad but it’s not worth coming in to this Hospital. I wasn’t even given a room, blood work was done out in the waiting area, there was no actual room, no privacy when being asked questions! The “doctor” came out for two minutes and touched me here and there, checked my pulse and that was it!! Had a CT scan done. Bill came out to 30K…. 30,000!!! Insurance is paying for most of it but it is still such a fraud. For blood work and a CT scan and a 2 min talk with the doctor… you’re better off making appointments and holding off as much as possible to go anywhere else.
This place is a joke. My grandfather just split his finger open from tip to knuckle on a table saw, and all these wanna be fake “employees” not nurses or doctors told him there was nothing they could do. They are more interested in servicing the junkies of the valley over helping someone in need. The whole ER is completely unsanitary, ppl sleeping in chairs and on the floor, smells like urine and there’s trash everywhere. My 80 Y/O, war vet, retired, 7 heart attack surviver grandfather was turned away. Hats off to you ignorant waste of skins. I truly hope when one of you are in desperate need, and you get turned away.
This place is anything but professional, If i couldn't breathe and this was the only general hospital close enough to my house i wouldn't go here. they have 0 manners. they dont concentrate on the right things. the doctors dont do anything i suggest going to dignity they care and they actually make you feel better and you really feel like youll be okay. my dad was admitted twice and they did nothing and it was a small procedure. i was shook. i left crying because they didnt do anything for him he walked out with the same pain he came in with. dont go to this hospital. trust me, or dont just experience it youreself
They listened and did the best they could. I hate hospitals and ER's you will not see me there unless it's SERIOUS. I was throwing up and had severe abdominal pain. I explained my veins bust easily and which area is best. THIS IS THE ONLY MEDICAL CENTER WHO ACTUALLY LISTENED! They took care of me. Sadly my veins still bust but they explained they will not poke me anymore and do the best they can. My results all came back normal and it was just food poisoning. They gave me medicine and asked me to stay so they could continue to care for me. Other ERs want you in and out. Other places don't care. THIS PLACE DOES.
My Mother is in there right now and is in severe pain and potentially critical illness! Moaning in pain THE NURSE TELLS HER IF YOU DONT STOP IM SENDING YOU BACK TO THE WAITING ROOM!!! She has been checked on twice in 8 HOURS! She had to urinate in the trash can because she has NO CALL BUTTON to ask for assistance to the restroom!! I AM LIVID! 11-21-22 so far she has been there between the hours of 7pm-811am as I am writing this. If you have no sympathy, kindness or patience DO NOT BECOME A NURSE! Please just sad and pathetic for any human being to be treated like that when they have a life threatening illness!
Never come here! I took my wife to get a simple knee surgery she has gotten before takes about 2 hrs in and out. I dropped her off at 9am I did not hear anything from anyone for hrs. It took me to go in at about 1:30 for me to go off for me to get some type of answer which they still didn’t say why it’s taking so long just she’s in surgery. Finally at 3:30 they released her and she tells me she had complications and stopped breathing and no one never called me or told me anything to me. Horrible hospital. They do not know how to communicate with patients families and they do not give you all the information.
I just got home after staying at Abrazo for about a week, with a broken femur and hand. The team that works at this facility are some of the kindest most caring people I have ever met. They were patient, knowledgeable, warm and lead with respect towards the people they are caring for. I’m forever grateful for the tools they instilled in me to get back on my feet and built confidence that I need to move forward with my recovery. I would recommend this rehabilitation facility for anyone that is looking for the best care for themselves or their loved ones. 6 out of 5 stars if I could. Thank you Abrazo team!!
The people at the front desk in the ER Dept are pitiful excuses for healthcare workers. The female admitting patients was incredibly rude and unprofessional . She laughed at and dropped an "f-bomb" when speaking to a patient who was violently ill (vomiting) in the waiting room. She and another nurse also dismissed the fact that I was experiencing fever, chills, trouble breathing and my lips and face were grey. I was told my oxygen was "fine" and I should go sit down next to others waiting in the lobby. I hope that no one ever treats them or their loved ones in the manner I saw people being treated there.
The preop team rates 5 stars, super on all accounts. But their superior performance rating was totally wiped out by the horrid overnight stay. I was left in a gurney with unreachable outside controls. Couldn’t raise my feet, causing excruciating back pain. The Picc line caused constant pain, nurse wouldn’t move to the other arm. Repeated requests for help adjusting gurney for back pain, moving painful picc line ignored. My sleep med dosage was cut to useless level, computer noisily reset itself at 3 am. The clincher, my hospital notes say I was “comfortable “ so they lie on top of ignoring you,
So I went to this ER because I was in a lot of pain they seemed to be really nice and helpful then I was given a shot that I was told would help but instead sent me into an enormous amount of even more pain (which I'm still dealing with HOURS later) to the point I had to leave the ER then I get a voice-mail saying to call a woman named Claudia back so I do and come to find out they prescribed me ibuprofen! Like wth is that gonna do especially after I TOLD them I took plenty of that already and it didn't work then to add insult to injury she catches an attitude n pretty much hangs up in my face.
As a Physician I am always aware of patient care. I recently needed an ER visit for an Acute Abdominal Pain:: i was reluctant to go to an ER; didn’t want to sit in a crowded Waiting Room. A friend told me about Scheduled ER appointments at Abrazo ; I’d never heard of such a thing. I called at 4, accepted an appointment at 6; I was only in the waiting room for 15’:: Nice! The rest of my care was quite adequate! Have also required their Wound Care Clinic and was always quite pleased. Saw all the Not Good reviews; but I’ve been very satisfied with the care I’ve received. Thank You.
Well, I seem to be in the minority here but I thought almost everyone there did a good job and were very nice. The communication seemed to lack in areas. THat is so important but it worked out. The nurses were great. They were all trained to provide important hands on care. The hospital is old and I didn't like having to get up and turn the light on or adjust the bed from the outside. Also it took almost 2 days to get the tv working. It was a simple cable. The food service was good. Bed was comfortable and the radiation department is amazing. Hope this helps
I had to go to the ER twice in one week and was admitted both times. The ER was very full and the wait was long, so that was tough. However,, I interacted with many staff members here and there and every one showed me kindness and compassion. The nurses were amazing and the doctors made sure I was well informed of their plan. Every patient care tech, housekeeper, dietary person, admissions people,, all were so kind and helpful. The facility is older and the rooms not fancy, but I'll deal with that in order to receive the stellar care that I received.
I went in for TLH. Staff was friendly and professional the whole time I was there. They knew I was nervous and were kind and positive. My recovery nurse was Katie W. And she was lovely and patient. She cared for me like a family member. I was in a ton of pain- (still am) but the constant pressing the nurse button for pain meds or ice for my tummy didn't seem to bother her. My friends told me its an older hospital- like it was a bad thing. Even though it was not a fancy Hospital, I still received excellent care. Thank you to the Abazo family.
Worst experience ever. Had me mapping out escape routes to save my mom. ICU was great Angela and Ann Marie were great I love them for life. Dr D. and the nurses on level three except the over night nurse all need to be fired. Janelle you were great. I will never go back there or have anyone I love go there. Not to mention a couple years back when the mental health social worker forged my name on the petition to have my husband committed to UPC. Told me she signed my name because she needed two signatures. Unbelievable. Go to Banner
I had a horrible experience at this hospital. There are too many things to name. I want to give Amber (nurse on the 2nd floor) a 5 star review. Amber helped me get transferred when I guess the case manager didn't have time to help me, and II was just sitting in the hospital. Amber went above and beyond to help me, and unfortunately, I was in such a bad place at the time, I was not kind to her. She is a true champion of Healthcare. Nichelle was also a great nurse and Hal was a joy to talk to. He should be the hospital ambassador.
It’s not in the greatest location (19th Ave and Bethany Home) but as far as health care, they actually to my surprise did the job with excellence. I was seen by Dr. Reynaldo who had wisdom and knowledge about my issues. He told me what would happen and it is. I was treated very well by all the emergency room staff and even though I was in pain with Ct proof there, they made sure I was as comfortable as could be. They are busy and professional. Please treat health care workers with kindness. It will be a plus for you.
this place doesn’t even deserve a star. going in as a type 1 diabetic going into DKA and it took 1 hour for them to get my vitals and that was all they did and they weren’t even busy. Then i proceeded to get worse and ended up passing out and NO ONE did anything but sit and watch. on top of that! someone came in saying they had a bomb inside them and they decided to do nothing about it but talk about in front of other patients in the room. DO NOT go here for any medical this place deserves to be shut down.
Horrible Hospital! The night shift treats Covid Patients awful! My mother is getting "treated" here and she is neglected. They refuse to check up on patients. No basic necessities like water at night or going to the bathroom. Shes had to use the trash bin to relieve herself multiple times since they wouldn't attend her! They can't even give them oxygen! We have requested a transfer multiple times to a hospital that will accept her and as of now they refuse it. People dont take your loved ones here!
I have never been to this hospital but know about the negative reviews. Last week my dad was rushed to the ER. He was having a massive heart attack. As soon as he was in the hospital, IMMEDIATELY the wonderful nurses and drs. began to work on him to save his life! My dad would not be here today if it were not for their quick action and proficient job. Everyone was so helpful and patient in a very, very scary situation. Thank you to all the Dr.'s, nurses and staff who saved my dads life!!!!!
My partner has been here for a number of days. The staff is amazing. As usual, nurses are amazing humans wherever you go. The food though, disgusting, every single thing ordered... even the orange juice is disgusting as it tastes of metal and plastic. I’ve had to bring in food for my partner to eat for every meal. And, I’m told they just redid the menu! They need a complete kitchen overhaul. Again though, nurses rock! And the lady who makes my cappuccino in the morning at the coffee bar.
If I could leave them no stars I would. I would rather flat line before I trust anyone there to help me. I was there for 9 hours and did not know who my nurse was or what was going on. My daughter called because I was having my second tia and they did nothing. My daughter who is in school for patient care technician basically took care of me. Instead of helping me they were taking naps and playing on their phones. Abrazo is the worst place to go if you’re in need.
Horrible care! No privacy and never got a bed even with IV antibiotics. All of my care was done in a hallway and took all day. I was given a commode with a screen in the hall way to use the toilet. I had people sitting inches way from me and was treated by doctor an nurses in front of others and never offered privacy. I complained to hospital but they said this was not a privacy violation! My animals have been treated much better than this- don’t go there
The Doctor who Take care of me in the Emergency Room was very attentive, and very Professional ,and above all he looked at his Patients with great Compassion. I was a witness because I waited there for 5 hrs. I was observing how he entered and Left the room where we waited anxiously and his traying to Calm our anxiety. the Truth they are truly Heroes who deserve my respect. Thank you ABRAZO CENTRAL CAMPUS for attending me with dignity, and compassion.
Stay away. They required an up front payment for a procedure and ended up overcharging $2500. They have all the information that they overcharged me and are telling me it will be 30 days to get it refunded. They are making money off of patients that are overcharged. If they're going to require up front payment, they need to refund over payments promptly. What's sad is the care I received was great. All of the staff I dealt with were good.
This is a horrible place to visit when in need of medical attention. The staff is untrained and unfriendly. They actually requested ne to pay $1200.00 before receiving medical treatment. Then after I did not pay and left the facility, they billed my insurance $2113.00 for emergency room visit and $2796.00 for an ultrasound, which I have never seen the results. Instead of going to this substandard hospital, please go to Banner...
I had a very good experience with my knee out paitent surgery. All the staff are very nice and explained everything and asked me if I had any questions and brought me 2 of warm blankets. I was very pleased that the anesthesia Dr gave me the medicine in my IV on the way to the operation room and I was out before I was put on the table and when I woke up i felt fine. and didn't have to wait long for them to call for my ride home .
I'm a patient of az pain doctors and just had an out patient procedure done. All Staff is very attentive, helpful, courtesy and above all caring. Beginning with the staff at the front desk, to the staff at registration, to the RNs and the techs and drs in the operating room. To the staff wheeling me out in my wheel chair as my husband pulled our vehicle around. I highly recommend abrazo central campus. Very pleased patient
Our 96 year old Aunt Leona went to Abrazo Central for severe pain and swelling in her leg and was so happy with the treatment she received. She was examined and evaluated upon arrival by Dr. Hayek in the Emergency room. Nurses Nikki and Claudia were so nice and helpful. Registration and Radiology also did a great job making her visit go smoothly and she left feeling so much better. Thank you, we appreciate you all so much!
I was in the Arrowhead Campus for surgery. Less than 12 hours after some staff doctor who's name I didn't know decided there was no medical reason not to discharge me. He didn't even come by a nurse told me. I was in pain, weak, my surgeon expected me to be there another day. I arrived home unsteady, exhausted and in pain. I found the care and concern for the patients disappointing. I will never go to that hospital again.
This hospital has the most disrespectful nurses and staff. I was on hold to simply check the status of an ICU patient for over 45 minutes. Each nurse had horrible attitudes. Nurse Nitza was very rude and never even acknowledged the concerned guests of the patient. I came in and room was filthy and patient did not have towels, soap, or a clean change of clothes. This hospital is horrid! Avoid at all costs. Horrible.
My husband was taken here after his stroke. His shared room did not have a phone and I had to go through the nurses any time I wanted to try to talk to him or find out how he was doing. I never once spoke to a doctor, and when I called about him one of the nurses actually told me not to call anymore. Additionally, when I was able to contact him he said he felt like he was in a hostile environment! Do NOT go here!
From the moment I was taken into the Emergency Department to being admitted and cared for, the entire staff was so warm and knowledgeable. The residents in training were personable, professional, knowledgeable, confident and exactly what the medical system of care needs. I would highly recommend this hospital and allowing the residents in training to continue showcasing their patient care abilities. Thank you!
Every visit is at least 3 to 4 hours long even for a minor injury, or minor situation. They never know how long for anything they do, it's like someone hired a bunch of newbies and trained them by summing up the job, instead of teaching them how to do it. Some of the staff have attitudes depending on who is in, and not many of the employees are friendly. In all honesty this hospital needs SHUT DOWN!!!!
