I have been trying for 3 days to try to get the results for 2 cultures sent out from the ER. Results from one test done immediately that day, posted to my online portal with zero issue. Those tests did not. I called 4 different times one day, trying to get the results. I explained how they are not in the portal - they said it was an IT issue, IT said it was their issue for not putting it in, and round and round. They said the only way they would give them to me is if I called back the next day after 10am. At that time, I was told they have the results and the major one said general data. I asked what that meant and no one could tell me. I already knew as much before I went to the ER. I was told there was no one else I could speak to. THEN, trying to just get them to give me a copy of my results, I was told the only way I could get it would be to drive there and physically pick one up. Wrong. I legally own that information. So I had to call back again and speak with someone else. This person emailed me a Medical Release form (needed to be able to fax the results to my doctor) that she sent to herself first at her Abrazo email AND to her own personal Gmail account. Illegal. When I called back to point out this had been done, I was told “so? No one cares about your medical info, we are taking our time away from the ER to help you.” YOU SHOULD. THEY ARE THE ONES TAKING DAYS OUT OF MY TIME JUST TO GET TEST RESULTS THAT SHOULD’VE JUST BEEN POSTED ONLINE ALL ALONG, WHILE I’M HAVING MEDICAL ISSUES WHICH BROUGHT ME TO THE ER, IN THE FIRST PLACE. I had to call back yet again when I never received a copy of these faxed results to my email also, only for them to say they have zero capabilities of emailing it to me without using their personal cell phone and emailing to themselves at a personal email address. My Dr finally received the fax. Fast forward 2 days - I need the test results faxed to a second Dr. I’ve now called 3 more times today, to do this. First, I was put on hold for 20 minutes and no one came back to the phone. I Called back. Second person, he took some info and said “I’ll see what I can do.” Never heard back. Third call, another guy, who started immediately arguing with me claiming this was something they could not do and “I’m mad at the wrong person.” Any hospital anywhere can absolutely fax medical documents to doctors. They do it all the freaking time, everywhere. He finally said he would email me the medical release form needed (again). I waited 45 minutes, no release form. Still waiting. I called back yet again, asked to speak with a supervisor. Kirsten apologized and said that they still cannot do that and she will have to transfer me to Medical Records who would “be happy to do that for me.” She said this is probably how this was done the first time I had the results faxed. She transfers me to Medical Records who tell me they cannot do this either and it is a Dr who must fax them first and then it will take 10 business days. I repeated details multiple times. Still no. I asked to speak with her supervisor. Joannie (exact spelling) said all of the info I had been told was wrong and that they are offsite, so they are normally not able to do this either. However, she took down all my info, confirmed which results I needed sent, let me wait on hold while she faxed them, confirming she received a confirmation that it was sent. Just like that. Finally. Many people I spoke with at the ER did not care to LISTEN to what I was actually saying or DO what they said they were going to do. God forbid I was having a super critical, life threatening emergency, with only seconds or moments to spare. Can’t even trust this hospital to send a simple fax (and what fax machine made in this decade doesn’t also have an email function, as well, btw…???). TLDR; 16 phone calls, 4 emails, less than 1 star, and a ridiculously crazy amount of wasted time and energy. Horrible experience.
So here's my experience with this place. I was scheduled for a hernia surgery on December 2nd. I've had two prior surgeries here before. So in the pre-op waiting room with the nurses was great they were professional made me feel comfortable. The nurses called security to take my valuables before my operation so security comes takes my wallet my Bluetooth headset puts it in a bag makes note of everything in the bag and has me signed for it and takes it away and says she's putting it in a safe. Before I get wheeled back into the surgery room usually they sedate you a little bit where you're really sleepy and drowsy on the way to the operating room. That didn't happen this time The lady that willed me back there was bumping into the walls and crashing into things and was making me very nervous. So we get into the surgery room and see pushes me next to the surgery table and was fighting with the computers and wires and hoses and baking stuff around this made me extremely nervous I was not comfortable with this at all!!! Thank God they started to sedate me and I was out. Woke up in the recovery room with a nurse I don't remember much I was really drowsy security came in with my bag with my wallet and I signed for something and they put my stuff in my bag with my clothes and shoes and wilt me out to my wife that was waiting in the pickup area. When we got home I went to bed my wife went through my wallet and my bags to make sure everything was there The only thing was missing was my Bluetooth headset. So the next day someone from the hospital called to see how I was doing I let her know about the Bluetooth headphones and she said she would speak to security and find out what was going on. I never heard back from security or the nurse.so I went back to the hospital today on the 15th of December to talk to security to find out if they found my Bluetooth. I talked to the security lady at the front desk and told her the situation I believe she remembered me and remember the situation what happened with my Bluetooth headset but she acted like it was no big deal.I had to ask her to go look in the lost and found and see if anybody found my Bluetooth headphones. The security there took possession of my wallet Bluetooth headphones and they lost it and they acted like it was no big deal no phone call no nothing from them. I would have to sadly say don't trust the security there they don't seem to care about your property. The thousands and thousands of dollars my insurance paid that hospital to do surgery on me they couldn't even call me back or even offer to replace the headphones pretty sad.
I went to the emergency room at 9p.m. on a Tuesday, I waited for over an hour for someone to see me, and this person only took my temp. and blood pressure, she ask me how tall i was and how much I weighted, what happened to them weighting you? then she told me to go out in the waiting room and wait, I waited another two hours before the same lady called me name, I went there because a leg injury, I could not walk or put any weight on my left leg, she told me to follow her I was grabbing the wall just to stand up, then she says ,oh do you need a wheel chair? duh, then she took me in, and I waited another 1 1/2 hours before a lady doctor saw me, she spend about 6 minutes with me and said I needed a x-ray, i got the x-ray and waited another hour before the doctor came back and said there was nothing wrong, I told her that I can't walk nor even put my socks on, all she said was , well, if you want go see another doctor, I ask her for some meds for the pain she said just take aspirin, i told her the first time i was taking 6 Advil a day, and they did not help, now this is just an out rage, I was there for like 7 hours and seen there personal a total of about 13 minutes just for her to say go see another doctor, , I would not go back there if my life depended op it, and as far as them being paid, no way
My husband and I almost didn’t take our son to this facility because of the poor reviews but I’m so glad we did! Our 8 year old son was having difficulty breathing around 2 in the morning and it was a very scary thing. Abrazo Scottsdale Campus is the closest ER to our home so we rushed there. We were the only people there at the time but we were seen immediately. It took all of 5 minutes for the front desk to check us in and get our son back to be seen for vitals. Once that was done, we were given a room right away. The nurses he had were so caring and accommodating, asking if we wanted anything to eat or drink or if we needed extra pillows or a blanket to lay down with him. They also checked in on him frequently. We saw Dr. Brice Brookshire and he was truly the best. He showed us on the X-ray machine what we should be looking at, explained everything very thoroughly and checked in on our soon many times. He offered him popsicles, made sure the breathing treatments were going as planned and wrote us notes to give to our son’s school for him to be excused without us evening having to ask. I would absolutely recommend this Dr as well as this campus for any issues you may have and I hope you have as great of care as we did!
This review is for the hospital emergency block . They made me sit for 4 hours on a broken chair and the physician assistant dint even had a proper check on me. Basically I have waited for 5 hours and came home. I dint even take the prescription prescribed by the PA because I dint trust him. After a week I get a bill of $13K for sitting on the broken chair after insurance covering it came to $1.8 K . This is a business of making money. If you entered the emergency block, even though they make you wait for 4-5 hours with or without consultation, forget about treatment they will charge you minimum $13K bill. If I don’t pay this money it will jump on my credit history. This is fraud in the name of emergency services. Now the owner will respond this is not the impression we want you to have drop an email after that no action. This hospital is making money in the name of emergency room service.emergency services were not offered However I was charged for emergency services.I have waited for 4-5 hours even though it’s not busy then I was charged thousands of dollars in the name of emergency services.. this is not expected from one of the major healthcare providers in the valley.
This is the former Paradise Valley Hospital. In addition there are a number of multistory medical and professional buildings on the campus and on both sides of Bell Road, both the north and south side. There are a total of 3 laboratories for blood testing, urine tests, drug testing for employment and for compliance with pain management programs, etc. It wasn't originally designed to handle a large number of patients, as evidenced by the amount of parking spaces that are occupied. Look for the number of the address on the exterior of building, find parking and then enter and you'll find a physician/provider locator board just inside the motorized entrance doors. There are plenty of elevators and great wheelchair access. Pharmacies are located nearby and if your needing Emergency Room care, follow the EMERGENCY ROOM signs located on Bell Rd and park close as you can. Most people were not wearing a mask, however I was just in case. I hope this information was helpful. If the area is extra busy, pull into an area and rest for a moment, get your mind in gear and attempt to locate the office your looking for.
This hospital is the absolute worst we have ever been too! My sister was there due to a grade 4 external hemorrhoid that was surgically removed and was admitted. One they did not help her walk around they left her in the bed for 2 days, 2 the nurse Carol on the second floor night shift was so rude to my sister! 3 when I got there for discharge (yes being discharged without even being able to get out of bed or walk on her own!) She had pushed the nurse light 3 times to get pain medication nothing. Finally they came in and gave her some then told her to wait for it to kick in so she could get up and try to use the restroom for the first time since being admitted. When we pushed the nurse light to ask for help they forgot to cancel it and while we could still hear them they sat there and were saying negative things about my sister! I ran out there and told them the voice things was still on and they just looked at me with that shocked look! Never again this place needs to be shut down or needs new staff and a bright remodel as it looks like it is a run down crazy hospital!
The worst hospital experience I have ever experienced was at abrazo scottsdale. My brother was a patient for two weeks and I have never seen or experienced the level of disrespect ever. When I asked to speak to my brothers nurse I was never connected that's if they even answered the phone. On one occasion my father asked to speak to a nurse and when that nurse got on the phone all he did was offer little to no info about my brother and remind my dad how much of an inconvenience he was for disrupting him. I finally got Dr Kevin Yu attention as well as the charge nurse and shared my experiences but all they offered me and my brother was a piece of paper called and AMA. This hospital lacks in care and respect for their patients. After signing the ama I brought my brother to Mayo Clinic, what a drastic difference. The level of care and respect they have for their patients if outstanding. Thank you Mayo Clinic for taking wonderful care of my brother.
My husband had outpatient arthroscopic knee surgery at this location eight days ago. The very next day he drove himself, with Dr Cohen's permission, to get a haircut. Let it be known that Russell Cohen, MD, is a master surgeon and anyone I've talked to has had nothing but spectacular results with procedures performed my him, including myself (Dr Cohen has replaced both my hips). As for the Abrazo Scottsdale hospital... our experience was perfect! Every nurse, every doctor, every support staff member we dealt with were beyond professional, caring, friendly, and obviously enjoyed their respective jobs. My husband was so well attended to, as was I, that I happily would have gone in the next day to do the experience all over again (I'm sure my husband would think differently about that). We were treated with respect and felt like we were amongst family. Thank you to all for the work you do... you are heroes!
This hospital needs a lot of help. It is disheartening to have my father in a hospital that doesn't understand certain diseases and the proper treatment for them, such as liver cirrhosis, that my dad has been dealing with for the last year. When you ask questions about medications that my father should be on, no one seems to know anything and this leaves his family members unsettled and concerned. As a hospital, they need to have the understanding and education of it all (this goes without saying). The lack of house keeping is completely unsanitary and gross, especially when the majority of the hospitalized patients share rooms and bathrooms with other patients. The nurses station is another story. Patients should not be ignored for an hour, sometimes longer when contacted by the patient for help. These patients are sick and need extra help.
Singularly the worse ER ever! Dirty & grimy. I came to the ER with a huge hematoma on my knee After a severe fall, I sat in the lobby for 4.5 hours before I was called back for a quick x-Ray. My would was finally cleaned with just a squirt of water. A few days later, my knee became infected.. I don’t think there was a doctor in the hospital for at least the first 3 hours I sat in the waiting room. The ER was not crowded yet no one was being seen. Who leaves an elderly person sitting in a raggedy wheelchair for 4 hours after a very bad fall on concrete? I would be afraid to go to this ER with stroke or heart attack symptoms. The place looked like something from a third world war-torn country. It was unbelievable how awful this ER is. I would rather WALK to Thompson Peak or Osborne than ever return to this dump!
Do not expect proper care here or rounds, my grandpa was here for a few weeks before transferred elsewhere due to his condition, did not do blood work on him when it was needed especially since he was wound care and was becoming extremely ill he was transferred in very poor condition because of how they cared for him, bed sores due to lack of movement to position him, mouth blisters due to lack of attention, growing an infection due to his wound care attention lacking, rudeness of nurses and MAs when I’m trying to help assist my grandpa during these final few weeks of life… transferred to another hospital 40 mins away from this one where he was better cared for but was not enough and passed a week later dud to the bad treatment and care he received prior
I was in 04/27: Worst experience of my life. The nurse Chris was awesome and so was the triage nurse and the guy who cut my cast off but the doctor Dr. Hans was condescending, rude, had zero bedside manner, and argued when I asked for my cast to just be removed for a sever rash, swelling, and burning. Even after I explained that I have had multiple casts and this isn’t normal she proceeded to argue with me that my ortho would want me to keep the cast on even though he’s the one who sent me to the ER. Ridiculous waste of time. 3 people including myself in the waiting room since 9pm and don’t get out until almost 3am with no real care. I wouldn’t go there even if I were dying. Do better or close down. This is unacceptable
Do not expect hourly rounding. Chances are you won't see any medical staff for long stretches of time unless you call them. Even with a call expect to be waiting 20-30 minutes. Those working the nursing station taking calls are horrible at communicating to floor nurses. I called in for nausea and was waiting over half an hour for my nurse to walk in to me holding a trashcan throwing up and had not been told I'd called. Overall the hospital has horrible communication between staff, surgery came by quoting blood test data they were saying was from last night and I had to correct them that I had not had blood taken the night before, but in the morning before a procedure that made the data they were referencing old.
i know ERs are...well ERs....but the staff here is horrible. people sitting in this emergency room with me are bleeding and struggling to breathe, with no assistance. the worker upfront with fake sharpie eyebrows is extremely rude and sarcastic to anyone who approaches her with a simple inquiry absolutely no hustle from the workers, and no "emergency" vibes at all i also have a migrane now due to all the loud spanish music and full blast tiktok sounds ive had to endure for the last 4 hours no one is running the show!
The staff were friendly however while waiting to be seen by a nurse to get an IV in me I overhear some nurses complaining about a lack of training.. Right off the bat a red flag, next it took 3 nurses to find my vein. There was a night where I was never given the chance to get any food. The absolute worst was during shift change I had a spike of pain I hit the call nurse button and was told nobody was coming for at least a half hour. The worst pain I think I have ever felt and had to stay in pain for a half hour.
When you go in because you can’t use the left side of your body your face fingers and toes are numb. You’ve been to a hospital already and they diagnosed you with hornet syndrome and your symptoms are getting worse. Your blood pressure is ridiculously high. And all they say is they can’t do anything that’s not an emergency. Send you home with half your body working no eyesight in your left eye. But because the ct scanned cleared me that’s all they can do. Hopefully I don’t die
Front desk area is extremely long wait. There were people in front of me in way Dire of situations yet were forced to keep waiting. Once you get back into the rooms, the sheets were dirty. The nurses were nice and pretty speedy, as well as doctor. However they never sent my prescription in so here I am in pain all because someone forgot. I recommend not going to this hospital unless your literally about to drop dead. And even then pray they get to you quickly enough.
This hospital needs a serious review by the state. It starts at the top and it is evident with facility itself, very poor communication. The only exception was the surgical wing and a nurse or two on the 2nd floor. In over 50 plus years of being at various hospitals for a loved one, this type of care is inexcusable. If you have a loved one or yourself don’t accept being transferred to this hospital and certainly I don’t recommend taking yourself here.
Took my mom here last Thursday. She is there and receiving the best care. The doctors and nurses are taking great care of her and making sure everything goes well and that she is comfortable. Hopefully she'll be out today if all goes well with her heart. RN Shannon is the best. Goes above and beyond, Compassionate, caring, professional and more importantly listens to family with questions. Thank you Abrazo Scottsdale for taking great care of my mommy.
Waited 3 hrs for 3 minutes of the drs time. And even then nothing was done except take the pulse in my ankle..poke the knee and say the xray was fine, here is some pain meds. Sorry you fell. Keep the mri appointment in 2 days. Seriously. I sat and listened to everyone's private information broadcasted thru the wr waiting room and a guy having a heart attack leave because he was left in the waiting room.
I was admitted 8/8/2023. Admin, Dr, Nurses, Anesthesiologist, Therapist LPN to the Food server all of them are the best for me. I have a wonderful experience despite of my pain. They are all help me recover and attend to all my need while in the hospital. Thank you so much for taking care of me. Dr Bert and PA James Hutchison Thank you, Thank you Thank you. These two are the Best and Caring Individual.
Out patient area is clean and all the employees are very friendly. My mums surgery went well and Dr.Arnold is amazing! If you are having OP surgery you’re in good hands. The nurses upstairs are a bit slow. If I wasn’t there my mum would have probably fallen plenty of times. Slow to respond to you when you need them. Regardless. Thank you to everyone for making this experience very pleasant!
I have never received such lousy care in my lifetime. I only had one Nurse that was worth appreciating. If like me your Dr. sends you here pray you at least get Joseph for a Nurse. I had not been hospitalized since 1981 and I was shocked by the treatment. The staff regularly ignored my call button or they would come in ask what was needed, tell me they would be right back and not show up.
Being taken care of by nurse Briana (Maria) was the best experience I could have dreamed of. She was so caring and lovely and took her time tending to me and my concerns. She was really an amazing woman and nurse and I’m so very glad I was put in her care. She truly is a daisy and recommend her to anyone who would need a loving and attentive soul. I love you Briana! Thank you!!!!!
I have been to 25 hospitals nationwide from many sports injuries, I just spent 4 days at abrazo with breathing complications and was on oxygen. This by far was the best care I've had from east to west coast, the emergency room staff gets 10
Most Callous staff there is. Heartless, lack of urgency, arrogant, self serving. I brought my wife (in pain and crying) to the emergency room at 9:00 pm. They could care less. Indignant that I might criticize their lack of empathy. After 45

Unfortunately, I've been to a lot of hospitals lately due to my 85 year old father's illness. Abrazo, by far the worst experience I've ever had. My father was transported to the closest ER via ambulance. He was kept in the ER room for over
If there was a negative star I would have chose that. This hospital was ridiculous. Waited for 4 hours to be put in a room that looked like someone's office they threw a bed in, sheets I laid on looked like they were not even clean. They
Nurses & doctor seemed super nice & friendly. First issue was waiting 3 hours to be seen when I was the first to person in waiting room. Then I saw & heard my Doctor tell my nurse my labs came back. He told her he wanted to make me wait
I spent yesterday in Emergency at Abrazo on Bell road after dislocating my left shoulder again. I have had both my shoulders replaced but my left twice now adjusted a third time. It’s metal and so hard to dislocate but it seems I have a
Tried to visit a dying family member after visiting hours thinking , "they're dying I should be able to be with them", they said no. Their excuse for not allowing my mother in, who is married to the patient, was because of covid. So we
In two visits to ER, my son was given minimal care, & was mostly ignored for six hours while he was suffering withdrawals. He was never screened for AHCCS as we requested. Three times I ran to the nurses' station for help (which never
Worst experience ever. In my dads last days of living they did not make sure we felt welcome or if they were helping us. The people who check you in are rude and the care coordinators . The only bright side was one of the night nurses.
My husband was a patient on 2/6. A-fib with fluid overload. He was discharged on 2/9 without much resolve. Readimitted to Honor Health on 2/16. Aggressive treatment with excellent care. As a RN I could not believe they discharged him

Waited over 4 hours with blood running down my leemegs. Getting on chair and floor. Extreme pain. Wasn't seem after 4 hours, left to go home and clean my legs and take something for pain. What a waste
Worst customer service Everrrr!!! When I arrived Abrazo Health Scottsdale ER a nice Black woman who checked me in.
