Although this is my second failed (of hopefully only three visits I pray will end in success) attempt to get a key copied for my wife’s 2011 Lexus RX350, I remain optimistic and favorably disposed to Ace Hardware and to even this particular location. Let me explain. First, lessons learned/reinforced: 1. Ace’s website has a tool you can use to confirm their tool’s capability to duplicate your particular key. Use it. 2. The store locater tool is linked below the results and can filter for stores near you that are able to perform this work. 3. Call ahead to your chosen location before you go to make sure they have in hand the key you need or if they will need to order one. 4. Bear in mind, this will take a reasonable amount of time to complete—particularly if it, like most modern keys, requires programming. It would probably be best to take care of earlier in the day rather than later. Once you get within, say, the last hour before closing, the associates are almost certain to be working through the long list of tasks they have to complete before closing time. At this location, the associate you’ll likely work with (particularly if there’s programming involved) is named Andrew. I’ve talked to him on the phone, after the first try. I’ve seen him in person, now, on this my second swing-and-a-miss. I confess I’m a bit bewildered that, despite my repeated unsuccessful attempts here, when crossing this to-do off my list as “done” I’ll likely be headed back home from here. Why? I’m not sure I’ve put my finger on it. It’s close, but there are ones closer. It’s reasonably well stocked, but the keys are unhelpfully not well organized. The associates I’ve encountered have, without exception, been pleasant, willing to assist and above average, but that’s not particularly rare. As odd it seems to me as he, himself, would probably regard my conclusion, I think it’s Andrew. I hope he is happy here. There is a muted kindness to him that seems to rest above a stream of compassion and patience running far and deep through his character. I don’t know. I could be mistaken sand just reading far too much into what is, to be sure, a vague first impression based on absurdly little information. What did he do or say that gave me this feeling? Your mileage may vary so I think I’ll just encourage you to see for yourself if you agree.
I ordered a canopy online on Friday 8/13/21 and the email that was received stated that if I wished for curbside, I could call the number of the store. So, that is what I did to be be kept on hold for more than 10 minutes. I had groceries and did not want to leave them in a hot car. However, that is what I had to do. I walk in and the front cashier offered me help and then said.. Oh I don't think that's going to get delivered to you. So I then ask, why is it an option then and why have me on hold instead of just telling me that? She directs me to an older man that was at the paint department who then tells me that the canopy's are in a certain part of the store. So, I had to tell him that my order was ready already and that is when he calls on another employee who tells him oh it's right there. So I am standing there not even being offered any help and being told that they are short staffed. The store is small and I had at this point spoken to 4 employees on the phone and in person. The individual finally said oh yes, I can take it out and did.. after I asked if he could. No apology for the inconvenience or anything. I work customer service and if this was the case at my office, we would be out of clients.
I went to my Ace Hardware because I needed help repairing a broken decorative yard stepping stone which was of concrete and glass. Hmmm. What would bond porous concrete to concrete, concrete to glass? At the store Andrew was very helpful. He listened well, understood my project, and took me to the contact cement section. We both looked and read labels, and discussed the "how to" with the directions on a couple of possibilities. It was so wonderful having an attentive do it yourself type person get into my situation with me. I had more confidence making my selection. I bought the Weld It cement tube and used it according to directions on the tube with the process Andrew and I discussed. I was rewarded with a strongly bonded repaired item. Yay, team! My thanks to Andrew and Ace Hardware.
Careful. If needing a specific color mix, Ace just changed who they have agency with for their base and color mixes. Also, website may claim a product, such as Gal of BLACK primer is in stock, but staff may not be fully up to speed on new paint product line. Also, "knife sharpening" is very limited. We took 4 Chicago cutlery chef knives, boning knife, and Ace only has a very small machine that cannot sharpen long knives, typical with Chicago Cutlery. Great place to find very unusual screws and bolts. For example, we needed a replacement screw for a piece of furniture and had no problem locating the screw in stock *on our own*. Limited variety of PVC connections, but great place if you need a toilet tank replacement handle or float. Staff always nice.
The first few times I walked in since the store opened, I was greeted by a cheerful cashier. Then immediately helped by the readily available floor rep. The store has slowly begun to fill its shelves with more and more product that will indeed save me the trip down to home depot. Last night I was blown away by a more cheerful than normal cashier. She went out of her way to make sure I found what I needed. Not to mention, one of the floor reps helped me find an odd shaped screw in no time flat. I'm glad this place opened up by the house, and even more glad that it's operated by people who actually want to work. Oh, Courtney was a huge help back in the stihl chainsaw department!
DO NOT TAKE YOUR TOOLS HERE TO BE FIXED! The mechanic is never there. i have been told 3 different times when he is suppose to "work" and he always calls in. my equipment has been there for almost a month. i have been on hold twice to talk to the manager and I'm still on hold, but " he is right by the phone." i never received a call about my equipment and how long it would take to be fixed and when i went up there to check they couldn't find one of them. If I had received an update and was told it would of taken this long I could of chosen to decide to wait or go somewhere else. horrible customer service and communication.
This was only my second time going to this store. Both times I went after having gone to Home Depot and Lowe's and couldn't get what I needed. Today I needed a wooden cane cut and I walked in was told who to speak to in the store. The associate quickly took the cane to the back and cut it in like 2 minutes and did not charge me. The first time I went I was looking for a screw that I needed for my LG stove. Couldn't find it at home depot or Lowe's but the associate who helped me that day took him time and measured and compared the screw I brought in to what they had a available and gave me exactly what I needed. Thank you!
WAY BETTER than I expected! I have never been a real fan of Ace Hardware, because the prices were usually higher than the box stores & wouldn't have what I needed. I will drive to the other side of town just to go somewhere else. I only went in for 2x 4" wood screws, hotsy to see if they had them. I was AMAZED at the store & what they had to offer! I guess it's been too long since I've last tried them out because they have everything. Plus, I'll have to say, the prices were comparable. I guess I'll have to give them a second look. Thank ya'll for a good job with this location!
I ordered a swing and JERRY so HELPED me get EVERYTHING CORRECT. He was so HELPFUL and KIND. Then MANNY and ANDREW came out to put it together and they worked with such EXCELLENCE and INTEGRITY they got it done so QUICKLY and it's just PERFECT!! And then I don't want to forget to mention ALEX the STORE MANAGER he was AWESOME in getting things set up for me in timing that worked the best for us. That store on Clark and Mountain Creek parkway is run so well. Thank you Susan I know lots of my friends will DEFINITELY be ordering one of these swings!
Since the Ace Hardware website deleted my product review, I'll post it here. The store is fine, and the customer service has been fine, too, but DO NOT buy anything electronic here. If you're not happy with it, you'll be stuck with it, unless you return it the SAME DAY you bought it. Even Goodwill has a better return policy on its electronics. The item in question is a $50 Vornado fan that does not move air 70 ft as advertised. More like ten feet. I'm stuck waiting for a reply from their company customer service.
I’d like to give kudos to Mr. Charles. I had come in there looking for a replacement for my outdoor faucet. I was told at a different store that I would have to call a plumber, that I could not replace this myself. Mr. Charles new exactly what I was looking for and he took the time to help me understand and made sure I had all of the equipment/supplies I needed to complete this do it yourself job. What refreshing customer service! Mr. Charles is a gem!
I purchased a tire compressor. I opened it and there was a chord with no plug. It was a just a wire cord. Not able to use. I was able to return my item, but had to call the manager, Andrew to approve it. Andrew said maybe you should read the box before you buy. I bit my tongue because he hadn't approved the return yet. 100.00. And no use to me. They have signs posted of no returns. Will never shop at Ace again!
The only way I could review is I had to give a star. Unfortunately, I had a bad experience. We usually go to red oak ace, but I told my husband hey let's try the one on Clark Rd. I always refer my customers to them I want to see it. Walked in so far nice atmosphere saw an employee to ask a question I felt with regret we were bothering him!!!! Will never go there again and will not refer customers to them.
My first time in an Ace Hardware store. I was amazed with all they had. I didn’t purchase anything when I went in. Because I was only there to check it out and see what they had. They have a little of everything. Tools, gardening tools, a/c units, heaters, fans, paint, screws and nails, toolbox, zip ties, paints for crafts, plants and ice chest. I am definitely going to go back.
We love Ace Hardware. They have everything you need for home and minor repairs right in the neighborhood! I've had friendlier experiences at other locations than this one, but the folks are knowledgeable and willing to help. A heads up for the pandemic-conscious: most of the employees here don't wear masks, though most of the customers do. Still a great store.
I called Ace Hardware looking for a particular sealant (CT1), and Andrew answered my call. He researched their data base and was unable to find the product. He then conducted a Google search to gain additional product and discovered that Ace does not carry nor could they get that product. His compassionate spirit was very much appreciated. andinformation
Alex and Jerry are the best they are both very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. I have stopped going to the big box stores where you can't find anyone to help you. When you walk into ace they come looking for you to see if you need help, instead of you looking for them . Manny is the best at repairing small equipment.
I I love a neighborhood hardware store that employs individuals who have knowledge of what they sell and offer. It feels as if I am asking my uncle or grandfather and will get a knowledgeable direction of what I need for my task. Unlike at the big box stores, where many times the person will Google an answer for me.
Sales person name Lee was rude and uncooperative. She refused to honor the price listed for the merchandise i bought because she said i didnt have a receipt for the item i was exchanging. What does an exchange have to do with the price in the system ringing up differently from the price posted in the store.
First time customer! Went there for a wet vac and multiple associates were not able to help. There was one older caucasion man who was very helpful. Be careful if you grab a snack at checkout. I purchased the Hershey's snack mix , ate a few, and immediately I was disgusted. THEY EXPIRED IN MAY 2019!!!
Short little indian guy claiming to be the owner telling me not to park with my 6x8 trailer because im taking all the parking spaces!! When i was not even parked in the front i was parked on the side,Then where am i supposed to park? Short dude has the small man syndrome …
This store has a decent amount of product on the shelves and in stock to help with any and all home improvement projects! The staff are always friendly and a terrific help to anyone that walks through their doors. Plus the deals that I receive in the mail are an added bonus.
I don't like this story the more they never have what you're looking for in the prices are way too high I know it's convenient to me but if they don't have what I need is a waste of time if I have to go to home depot to find what I really need I will not be going back.
Wonderful experience!! They had a great selection of hardware and gardening products. Exceptional Customer Service!!! Much more of a pleasant time than going to those big box hardware stores. We joined the loyalty program and will definitely return there from now!!
Their prices are a little higher, but their superior customer service totally makes up for it. If you have a specific question, they have a knowledgeable employee to assist you. Wish they had a better lawn and garden section. I do love my local Ace.
I bought Sthil equipment and they told me if anything happens just to take it there, that they have technicians onsite to fix equipment, which they never fixed it had to take it somewhere else. Plus cashier is always rude. Not shopping there again
Needed the mounting hardware for a mirror. In a short period of time, I located the hardware, of which I had several choices of styles and I was on my way. Seems to be very well stocked and had I asked, plenty of personnel on hand to assist.
Convenient for me because it’s closer than Home Depot, prices are a little steep, but not by much compared to HD or Lowe’s. But they have everything you need in that small location, gotta love it, oh and they fix and repair lawn equipment
I purchased a Toro trimmerand edger combination and the battery would not stay charged. It would not cut my saint Augustine runner. I took this back a few days later it was Labor Day, so I took it back on Thursday, not even. A week. Ace
Best place for any screws you need, specialty like furniture, lighting, wood, metal, brass. Excellent..just excellent. We found the correct screws for an upright mulcher shredder. I found the correct screws for a brass elephant figure!
Went to our new Store and they had everything you need guys....our local Neighbors shop here....as it is in the neighborhood. The customer service reps were nice and friendly she even signed me up for a rewards card!!!!! You go Ace !
When ur employee "em " would rather take TikToks of herself vaping in ur bathroom instead of working.. she was so rude and smelt like hot garbage .. short brownish black hair looked kinda like that one goblin from Lord of the rings..
Andrew provides excellent customer service!!! He was able to assist me with cutting my vehicle key. He saved me alot if money. Thanks Andrew!!! I recommend Andrew to anyone looking for an associate that will go above and beyond!!!!
Much better than a big box store. If tou have a older home or project that you need parts or pieces to make it work, this is your place. If they don't have it they can at least clue you in to a different why to achieve your goal.
Place is a dumb, can’t walk in the store with stuff being all in the way. Worst Ace store I have ever been to and the employee working there are very unprofessional and rude. I would definitely make the drive to Home Depot!
I walked in and I need help cuz I'm disabled and the guy wouldn't even get all the samples and for what I needed and brought it to me at the counter so I didn't have to walk all through the place I really appreciate that
ACE IS the place with the helpful hardware person. They are always pleasant and proficient. Although not a massive warehouse there is a wide selection of frequently used products. I appreciate the reward program also.
When you walk into the Store the cashier greets you which is NICE! The employees KNOW WHERE ITEMS ARE AND GUESS WHAT... YOU CAN FIND EMPLOYEES!! VERY GREAT PLACE. REASONABLE PRICES FOR WHAT I CAME FOR! VERY CLEAN.
Knowledgeable staff. Discounted pricing for loyalty card holders. Plenty of parking but no easy entry from Northbound Clark. A great neighborhood option to driving 15 or more minutes to visit Home Depot or Lowe's.
I'm not crazy about franchises, they carry a brand name but go by there own set of rules, this store is close in the neighborhood so you can get a lot of things here instead of drive to a large competitor.
Great customer service, it's always a gentleman that always ask do we need help with anything. He is very knowledgeable about each product. The lady at the register is always helpful and nice.
Great place...but employees sit around chatting to much. Can't find anyone when you need them, and when you do..they act like its an inconvenience that as a customer you want help
In spite of their reputation of not being friendly, today was a different story. The associate was very helpful and explained how to use the product I purchased. Great job today!!
I bought a key/fob on Amazon for $25 (dealership wanted 200), took it to ACE Hardware and they cut and programmed it for just $60 (dealership wanted $110). Works like a charm.
Called to ask about a certain item and they DID have it in store like they stated over the phone… thanks for not making me drive out there for nothing like other stores …
Smaller than others, more expensive than Walmart that is 1/4 mile away. Limited hours. Awesome customer service, friendly, they should be paid more. Great service is a rarity.
Very courteous and professional staff. I came to get a replacement key for my car. I had a small mishap with the ordering but the resolution more than made up for the delay.
Proud prices. Limited selection. Service department only has part time employees. Suggest you ask how long it will take to complete a repair before looking somewhere else.
This place is what I am looking for, not you typical big box store, they make you feel at home. Walk around the store, and enjoy the yourself and buy some you really need.
Easy access! Park right in front☺! Well organized, clean and friendly customer support. I seem to find a lot of items I use in lawn management. I would highly recommend!
They paint matched a small piece of paint I brought in as big as my pinky and let me tell you it was perfect. Apartment nail hole life hack, they’ll never know. …
Seemed like a great place, and seemed kinda big too.. Found everything i needed and asked the guy for a little help in direction and he did so great!
This place has everything you need for home repairing or remodeling. Friendly and helpful service. I, gilcortez recommend this place of business
Great place for keys they were able to take care of me and my old motorcycle plus will be taking care of my 2007 honda odyssey with programing
The staff was very helpful and tried to find the lawnmower belt to fit my mower. Unfortunately they don't have one long enough. 97 by 3/8
Great place to get the things you need for home care maintenance and more the Staff are always helpful and pleasant people no complaints
As one would expect from Ace Hardware, they were friendly and very helpful. This store definitely lived up to the company's reputation.
Extremely helpful employees. My husband loves going to any Ace Hardware store. Their customer service at any location is hard to beat.
They are so helpful and ready to give advice on your home projects. Much nicer than dealing with the hassle at the big box stores.
The experience and assistance of the ACE crew is always helpful. They always have what you need and provides valuable solutions
Needed keyed door chains. Reps very helpful in locating. Only had two so ordered more for Wednesday delivery. Wonderful help.
Nice team that works there. More helpful than big box stores. Definitely a first stop before going to the other big 2 stores
They were very helpful and friendly. I went there to get propane, for heating, before we were to be hit by an ice storm.
A good basic hardware shop. Very small and tight close spaces. But has all the basic fundamental tools you need
They were so helpful to allow me to return an item I had lost the receipt on. Definitely recommend this place!
Great if your looking for things to repair your house, they have pretty much everything your looking for!!!
Great place to shop especially for some hard to find items. Great customer service by phone and in person.
They did not have the item I was looking for, but made the correct recommendation to fix my problem.
Always have the items I need in stock. Unlike the larger store's never have their inventory correct.
Great place to go if you live close you'll save money on gas and you can get the same thing there
Great location, friendly and helpful employees. I appreciate that the cashier was wearing a mask
WOW. What a pleasant surprise. SUPER well-stoked and well organized with very helpful staff!
There is too much inventory for such a small store, which is better off ordering online
Found all items I needed w/o the lines, plus employees were very helpful. Great service
I no longer live by this Ace and w8ll miss their awesome and professional service.
Friendly service, able to get everything I needed and check out quickly.
Ace is always helpful and friendly, you can get what you need there.
Worst customer service. Please do not buy anything from this store!
Very clean store, well organized. Super helpful and friendly.
Great place, had everything I needed, knowledgeable employees
Wide variety of merchandise. Friendly staff. Clean facility.
No hammer variety low stock measuring tapes as well
Lots of products. Shop the sales As prices are high
Spray paint and grabbed a six-pack!! win-win …
The workers always go out of their way to assist.
Not very helpful staff. No popcorn made.
Nice people work there very helpful.
Sales staff and products are Great!
Great service excellent people
