"I went as part of a group so I didn't have to pay , so I have no idea how much it is per person "
"Really cool exhibit! There are lots of exotic animals from all over Africa, ranging from aquatic displays to gorilla enclosures"
"Lots of potential, and I realized animals do not exist merely for the entertainment of humans, but the Zoo was not fully honest upfront about how many exhibits were empty or almost empty"
"Odd that this is a sub area of the Toronto Zoo but whatever"
"Great experience and a must do"
I went as part of a group so I didn't have to pay , so I have no idea how much it is per person . The cost of a bottle of coke was expensive at just 5 dollars a bottle . So if you plan on going there this summer , make sure that bring your own lunch and especially your own water or pop with you . In the African rainforest pavilion there is a food stop , called the Serengeti bush camp where the prices for the food is more affordable. At the time that I went through the different areas, most of the animals were laying down and hard to see . Spent about 3 hrs there walking around . Left there about 3:30pm . The Tim Hortons there don't serve anything but breakfast sandwiches or bagels .

Really cool exhibit! There are lots of exotic animals from all over Africa, ranging from aquatic displays to gorilla enclosures. The main attractions are definitely the variety of primates that are in the zoo. Large areas are dedicated to letting them play and move around. However, the other animals are also very interesting to see; depending on what you are interested in, you can spend anywhere between half to multiple hours inside of this pavallion. Washrooms and benches are scattered throughout the pavallion if you get tired from walking. The temperature inside isn't very hot but it can be slightly humid at times so water is suggested.

Lots of potential, and I realized animals do not exist merely for the entertainment of humans, but the Zoo was not fully honest upfront about how many exhibits were empty or almost empty. I appreciate the work they do, but families do spend time and money to visit and it should be made public that, e.g. the orangutans don't like their new setup yet and they all just hide downstairs out of sight.

Odd that this is a sub area of the Toronto Zoo but whatever. Speaking on the pavilion however it hits the mark, perhaps the most interesting part of the zoo with a great variety of different animals to visit. Hard not to spend some time reading about and pondering the gorillas. And if you are lucky enough to catch them outside on the rope course, it will easily be the best viewing in the park.

Great experience and a must do. Delight watching some of the animals up close, especially if one hasn't been to the zoo in a while. Brings back childhood memories for sure even as our kids enjoy the experience. Not all animals were out as the season is just getting ramped up, hence 4 stars.

You can find : Aldabra tortoise, Blue-bellied roller, West African dwarf crocodile, Straw coloured fruit bat, Slender-tailed meerkat, Ring-tailed lemur, Hamerkop, Spotted-necked Otter, and many more interesting animals here. Make sure to visit the Western lowland gorilla if you ever come to African Rainforest Pavilion.
I love visiting the rainforest pavillion. It is really warm inside though cause of the rainforest temperatures. The animals are all great to see. My daughters loved it. It can be quite busy at times.

My family frequently visit the Zoo, and our Son loves the pavillions, these are particularly great for doing cold weather visits in the winter as they provide a bit of weather relief and we see new animal interactions each time we go. We will be renewing our membership next year!
Expecting people to wear mask indoor, but I saw a man holding a Tim Hortons cup (not drinking) with his mask under the chin. Should there be staff to enforce it so that the animals are safe?

This place stinks and has no ventilation also animals are not close enough to see and fewer numbers of animals make it hard to enjoy otherwise good experience for kids to watch

Awesome! We watched two young gorillas playfighting for a while. Lots of school groups that were difficult to navigate around, but that's not the zoo's fault.

Caught the gorillas outside right at feeding time. If not then, they look bored and depressed but they are interesting if you get them at the right time!

Great place for kids and adults equally! African side of the entire Toronto Zoo is the biggest. It took us 3.5 hours in entire African area out of our 5 hour tour. 5hours include 30mins of our snack break + rest. Spent only 1 hour at

Been twice. All the animals slept during the day. I really liked the rope descent that starts next to the African pavilion (I went down 2 times with my 10-year-old daughter on her initiative).
It was very nice to see some of the exhibition but some of the animals were not in the exhibit that day

Great place to see many different animals in a simulated environment close to one that they would live in the wild in.
