As an animal lover with mixed feelings about seeing wildlife in enclosures, I approached my visit to the Toronto Zoo with a degree of trepidation. However, the experience turned out to be more enlightening and enjoyable than I had anticipated, offering an up-close encounter with a diverse range of animals from around the globe. The Toronto Zoo's expansive grounds are divided into geographical regions, each representing the natural habitats of its inhabitants. The zoo's commitment to conservation and education became apparent as I explored these areas, where animals are housed in enclosures designed to mimic their natural environments as closely as possible. While the thought of animals in captivity initially made me uneasy, witnessing the spaciousness and care in the layout of their living spaces provided some comfort. One cannot help but be in awe when observing majestic creatures like the gorillas, which display such human-like behavior, or the polar bears, whose playful antics are a delight to watch. The zoo's efforts in preserving endangered species and educating the public on environmental stewardship also deserve commendation. The Indo-Malaya Pavilion was a highlight, offering an immersive rainforest experience. Walking through, I appreciated the lush vegetation and the sounds of the tropics, creating an environment where the animals seemed at ease. Additionally, the African Savanna section presented a vast openness where giraffes and zebras roamed, giving a small glimpse into the wild expanses of their native grasslands. Throughout the day, I attended several educational talks by knowledgeable zookeepers who shared fascinating insights into the lives of the animals in their care. It was clear that these professionals are passionate about animal welfare and dedicated to the zoo’s mission of conservation and education. Despite the zoo's commendable work, the sight of some animals in enclosures did evoke an emotional response. It served as a reminder of the delicate balance zoos must maintain between animal welfare and public engagement. This visit reinforced my belief in the importance of global conservation efforts and the need to protect natural habitats. The amenities, such as clean facilities and helpful staff, made the day comfortable and ensured a focus on the animal exhibits. The walking trails are well-maintained and well-marked, though be prepared for a considerable amount of walking to cover the vast expanse of the zoo. In conclusion, the Toronto Zoo offers a unique opportunity to observe and learn about wildlife from across the planet. While the concept of animals living outside their wild habitats can be discomforting, the zoo's evident dedication to conservation and animal care provided a profoundly educational experience. It is a place that not only brings you face-to-face with nature's marvels but also invites you to reflect on our shared responsibility to protect these magnificent creatures and their ecosystems.
Toronto Zoo Review (October 25th, 2023) We journeyed to the Toronto Zoo from Downtown Toronto using the GO train from Union Station, followed by a switch to the 86 bus. Google Maps conveniently optimizes your route, aligning train and bus schedules. Upon arrival, the bus stops right at the entrance – you can't miss it. We faced a long ticket queue, largely due to a school trip arriving simultaneously. Thankfully, our online ticket purchase allowed us to enter almost immediately. The park’s sprawling territory is impressive. We spent the entire day exploring, from 11:30 AM till closing at 4:30 PM. Despite our thorough tour, we missed out on the Canadian Domain. A single visit isn't enough to soak in everything. If you're the kind to spend time observing a particular animal, consider dedicating an entire day to a single section. While you're handed a map at the entrance, navigation can be tricky sometimes. This was perhaps the only downside. However, on the day of our visit, the ambiance was serene with minimal crowd interference. Cafes and kiosks, albeit limited in number and quality, dotted the landscape. Reviews on Google Maps echo our sentiments regarding their offerings. They're mainly fast food joints. But for a park spanning 13km and given the walking involved, a full-fledged restaurant would be appreciated. Drinks are available throughout from vending machines, priced around 6 CAD per bottle. To add a festive touch, the park was adorned with Halloween decorations. They hosted Boo-events where kids could carve pumpkins, later fed to the animals. The brilliant autumn hues of fiery orange and red added to the visual treat, making it an idyllic place for a fall stroll. Having visited numerous European zoos, we especially adore the Budapest Zoo. But the Toronto Zoo stands out with its vast enclosures, making us believe in their genuine care for the animals. I didn’t see much value in the Zoomobile; even though it wasn’t operational on our visit. You’d cover more distance walking inside animal sections than between them. The convenience it offers might be limited, except maybe for those who find walking challenging. Worth noting, our 4-year-old managed the 13km walk effortlessly. Parking is expansive, likely accommodating even during peak season. Our most memorable encounter was with the polar bears. Even though they were resting, the various viewing points, especially the close-up behind a glass, were spectacular. And don't miss out on the waterfall near the capybara enclosure!

Overall, it was a great experience for the kids. Tickets: Purchase them online in advance. They are more expensive at the gate. Online prices were $30 in advance. I was hoping to use my Presto card for an extra 20% off, but you can only use it in person. The cost of tickets in person was $40 (for adults), so no savings to be had. There are also lines up if purchasing at the gate. They move kind of slow for some reason. They give you a paper receipt with a QR code. You will need this if you plan on going in and out for during the day. You need to keep your receipt. Another perk to purchasing online is that you will have a digital copy of the receipt and not need to worry about it. Parking: Parking is $15 whether you buy it online or in person. You will be issued a QR code receipt if you pay in person. You will need this to exit the parking lot. There were spaces, but half the lot was blocked off. Food: Plenty of food options throughout the park. Generally, it is the same type of food at each place. Not a ton of healthy options. Shockingly, it wasn't too expensive. I got the kids hotdogs, fries, and drink for $12, and some other treats throughout the day for another $15. You can bring your own packed lunch, which is great, and they offer tons of picnic areas (in shade). Experience: Tons of walking! They do offer wagons, strollers, etc, between $8-10. You can also purchase tickets to the tram that runs throughout the park. There is a carousel and face painting that you can pay for as well. The kids loved the animals. Of course, when it's hot, some of the animals will seek shelter, so you don't get to see them out and about. Really, just luck if you get to see them, but there are still plenty of animals. It would be great if they did hosted presentations about the various animals so guests could learn more. There are also plenty of washrooms. Mostly around restaurants. They were pretty clean. There is also a splash pad area for kids, and they have change rooms. Lots of fun. However, there is little shade and seating for the adults.

We participated in the "Love Scarborough" event where we raised money for the Scarborough Hospitals. This event was celebrated at the Toronto Zoo, so participants were given entry. However, the visit left me feeling profoundly disappointed. Observing the animals in a tired and subdued state was disheartening. Their lack of energy and apparent unhappiness cast a somber atmosphere over the experience. This was quite unlike my previous visits to the zoo, where I hadn't encountered such feelings. Aside from the state of the animals, another aspect of the visit that struck me was the exorbitant cost of food and beverages. From my morning coffee and breakfast to the available lunch options, the prices were notably high. Additionally, I found that the zoo staff appeared uninformed about the benefits and perks that were supposed to be offered to those who were participating in the Love Scarborough event. This lack of awareness caused us to miss out on certain advantages, including the shuttle service. Given my medical condition, I was particularly hoping for a convenient ride back to the front gate, but unfortunately, this option wasn't available. As a result, the return trip proved to be quite a struggle for me.

We had an excellent experience here. Staff was very nice and helpful, place was clean and organized. You could spend your whole day with the family here, of you plan accordingly: there are plenty of areas to rest and eat between the animal locations. Wear comfortable shoes and bring protection against the weather (specially the sun, it can get intense around noon and early afternoon). Bring a bottle of water, you can re-fill it in potable water fountains. Bugs were not a big problem when we visited. Watch out for the birds, specially in the parking lot: they will steal your food if it is left unattended. Strongly recommend showing up during a weekday during less crowded moments, as that will allow a comfortable walk and animal seeing. Also recommend checking on the best times to check on activity regarding the animals you want to see (some guys might be hidden/sleepy depending on the time of the day). If you have the time to do so, try checking all pavillons, it is worth it. There are some paid extra activity going on at the zoo, but you don't need to expend extra to enjoy the visit. Our only additional expense was the parking lot.

The Toronto Zoo is truly a magical place! I understand why it's recommended to purchase a membership because there's not enough time on a day trip to observe all 450 + species. For the nature and animal enthusiasts, it's definitely worth purchasing the membership! On a busy Saturday, the entrance lineup was long! I would highly recommend scanning the QR code at the entrance or purchasing your pass online. This will save you at least 45 minutes. When you arrive, simply show your QR code to the clerk. You will get lost on the 700 acres of land if you do not keep your map handy. The maps can be found near the front entrance. Indo Malaya was my favorite site at the zoo. Observing the beauty of the peacocks was truly the highlight of my visit - the most magnificent creature I have ever seen. Overall, I do not have one negative thing to say about my visit. I truly had an incredible day. It's a great place to spend the day with the family and friends. Bring your own food or purchase food at the zoo. There's an abundance of picnic tables to sit and eat.

We had a great visit! The park was accommodating to people with disabilities and children. The layout was excellent to walk with good shoes and a child in a stroller. We saw most exhibits, zipping around in a condensed timeframes, since we traveled 2.5 hours from home. There were also plenty of shaded areas to rest and pavilions to have lunch or a snack. The animals were very visible in almost all enclosures. The new boardwalk through the wooded area is well crafted and the wooded canopy is a sight of it's own. Last time I had visited the snow leopard was coming soon and what a beautiful big cat to see. Make sure to see the camel's and the newest baby camel born this spring 2023... was only 2 weeks old today - so cute and worth going to visit this summer to see this baby grow. The gorillas were very entertaining and exciting to watch! Hippos were playful! My daughter is about 1 and a half and she was very engaged with learning animals in real life and sight seeing. This time of year there weren't many mosquitoes as well - loved it!

A Toronto experience that was a first for me! I am still amazed at how easy the walk was. Every station just naturally flowed into the next, with no confusion of where we were or where we were going. There were many different stations, but I remember we did the safari, the different species of animals, birds, rhinos, monkeys, giraffes, gorillas, lions, tigers, snakes, fish and every species of animal you can think of! There's also a very lush forest, I was very impressed with, with a bridge almost suspended through it, which was very cool. I am still amazed at the expanse of land that the zoo sits on. It is a massive area! Next year I will definitely purchase the season's pass and go more than once. We went with a toddler in a stroller, very easy to move around. However next time will invite some older kids with us, I think they will enjoy and appreciate the animals more. Toddlers might be bored after the first 20 mins, but surprisingly mine enjoyed the entire walk! Definitely a spot to invest in. Will be our new yearly tradition!

I visited the Toronto Zoo with my wife over the weekend, and it was an absolutely wonderful experience! We decided to buy our tickets online and went there before the zoo opened, I highly recommend doing so because there was no wait time at all – we just walked right in. The Toronto Zoo is a fantastic place to spend a day. The variety of animals and the attention to their natural habitats is impressive. I particularly enjoyed the capybara exhibit – those adorable creatures stole my heart! The overall atmosphere was peaceful, and it felt like we were surrounded by nature. The zoo’s dedication to conservation and education is evident, and I appreciate their efforts to make the world a better place for animals. I can’t wait to visit the Toronto Zoo again in the future. It’s a perfect place for a day of fun and learning for all ages. If you haven’t been yet, make sure to check it out – you won’t be disappointed!

Bravo Toronto Zoo, for all you do to make us humans remember and appreciate how amazing other species are. The animals look healthy and comfortable in this world-class zoo. My fave this time was the orangatang mom and baby. The staff are great too: I got talking with a zookeeper scooping up goat poop and she was so fun to talk to, happily telling us the observations she's made in the poop of different animals. If you're the parent of a teenager, the zoo is a great way to unplug them for a whole day and give them lots of exercise. My teens just loved bringing a friend and being turned loose in here. They did the WHOLE zoo while I could explore more slowly myself. The flowers and landscaping are beautifully done. There is room for improvement on the signage coming into parking. It needs to be more clear, both on Google Maps, and on site. Also, cleanliness of the washrooms near the gate seems to be an issue.

An excellent attraction for all ages, the perfect blend of educational and entertaining. It was a great experience even without going on any of the short rides or adventures which cost extra money. The food options are quite expensive for what you get, but they allow you to bring in your own food and drink, and there's plenty of indoor and outdoor dining areas. I will definitely pack a picnic next time I go. The souvenir shops are also fairly disorganized, and not everything on display at their smaller kiosks throughout the zoo are available in their main shop by the front gate. They also don't restock throughout the day, and if you wait until the end of your visit to go to the shop, pickings will be slim, especially for clothing. In the end, the money goes towards supporting the zoo animals and conservation, so 5 stars.

Made a visit with the family, and expectations were exceeded. A plethora of animals to see and witness. If wishing to see everything the zoo offers, it's definitely possible in one day, just be ready to walk. Water refill stations to keep hydrated. As well as other means of snacks and beverages. An in-depth map will be provided to you, which will allow you to visit each sector of animals in whatever order you deem fit. We rode the Zoo-Mobile to have a little break and found it quite affordable and a nice way to see certain animals at a closer view. The souvenir shop was surprisingly affordable and offered a great variety of plushies , clothing, books, and other great knick knacks. The staff were fantastic and very hospitable. Would definitely come again! Amazing family trip location.

I love the zoo! All the animals (Except the polar bear. Talk About that later) are all healthy and happy. Lots of animals were sleeping but it was so cute!! The carousel was fun and it was very cheap, it was 3.84 for one person. "All the animals (Except the polar bear. Talk About that later)" I'm talking about that now. The polar bear looked a little... Weird... It was rubbing its nose on the glass in a U shape, everyone was so confused, we went to the zoo health centre and told the staff and they said it was unusual, so that was worrying. The gorrilas were chilling around and the orangutang was so cute. I highly reccomend the zoo for people with young kids. The discovery zone is cool but the kids zoo have an amazing treehouse. Its a great zoo for all ages! Highly recommend it.

A large zoo with 7 different areas based on the continents, I think. Each area sports a different environment with different animals with ample space for them to roam around and some even coexist. Some of the animals though are off display due to weather and health concerns so definitely a membership or seasonal pass is worth it. Might be a bit difficult for the elderly or the not physically fit so I think it is better to purchase tickets for the zoo mobile for a hassle free experience tour guides there are great too. Finished touring the whole zoo in half a day with breaks although we missed some sightings and some animals are off display so you definitely need to go there multiple times to view all

Recommend getting tickets in advance because I bet it gets crowded on most days. Went in the evening time and on a weekday and it was a very peaceful adventure. Kids from field trips were leaving at the time so we didn’t bump into big groups at each visit with the animals. We grabbed food from Grilled & Co and it was your average fast food restaurant to eat at. But the zoo had different options of restaurants to choose from. A few of the washroom’s are new, clean, and convenient to find. The map is a very helpful tool to use and easy to navigate. You most definitely would need to spend a whole day at the zoo to look at all the countries. Would most definitely visit again to adventure some more!

It's been a while since I've been to the Toronto zoo and I probably won't return. It is a lovely place but was far better when I was a kid. The difference in crowds was shocking. It was impossible to move an inch without being walked into or pushed around. Our country has taken in a lot of new people and our population is growing very quickly. The zoos layout inside the indoor spaces is unfortunately far too tight to get through and actually be able to see anything with the amount of people flooding in. In my opinion, the zoo is still great and I recommend anyone if you haven't been, to go and experience it for yourself but it was a better place for me when I was a kid.

Had an amazing birthday experience here! The staff are very friendly and helpful with anything you need help with. Even though a handful weren't available for viewing (due to the avian flu or being move, etc), there were still a lot of animals to see to make up for it! Only downside I found was the amount of walking, but it's to be expected as it is a big zoo. Lots of information boards for kids and adults to learn about animals, living off the land, Aboriginal teachings/beliefs, etc. Lastly, I'd buy tickets in advance as it would save you some money buying in person. Amazing zoo, if you live in the area you definitely need to check it out!

I recently visited the Toronto Zoo on a sunny day with my friends and family, and it was a delightful experience overall. The zoo boasts an impressive variety of animal species, offering an educational and entertaining day out. However, it's worth noting that due to avian influenza, some bird exhibits were not accessible during our visit. Nevertheless, the zoo's vast collection of other animals, from majestic mammals to fascinating reptiles, made up for the temporary setback. The well-maintained enclosures and knowledgeable staff contributed to a memorable day, leaving us with a desire to return for another adventure in the future.

Had a wonderful time at the Toronto Zoo with the family. Really enjoyed getting to see the hippos eating. The polar bears usually do some fun things in the water for people to see in the below viewing area, but they were sleeping when we got there. The tiger was lively jumping up at the tree. There are big fans with a cooling mist stationed throughout the park, which is nice on those hot days. Bathrooms and food/snack/drink stands stationed throughout the park periodically. There are lots of places to sit down for a little rest. Trust me, you will need it. If you have some extra time there is a splash pad there for the kids too!

The place is not designed well. They are made in loops and it takes multiple trips from the same sections to see different areas. Be prepared to walk a lot. If you are planning for the zoo, make sure you reach there by 10 am. Any late and you may not have enough time on your hands to visit all areas. When going in summers, carry a swim suit. There is a splash area. You may want to enjoy a good fountain area. Also, do not expe6a lot of animals if the temperature is high. They are moved out of display areas. There are areas where you could get food and water. Also, drinking water fountains are available on the track. If you are like thrill rides, try the zip line. It is worth the cost (approx CAD 12 per person).
The Toronto Zoo is an excellent place where you can bring friends and families to enjoy. There are a variety of indoor and outdoor displays of animals from different parts of the world to see here. Food and water are slightly overpriced, but they have a good selection. There are a lot of picnic areas and outdoor tables with shades to go with the food. Should you wish to check out all the exhibits in a day, expect to walk for a fair amount of distance and time if you are not willing to pay for the shuttle bus. Parking is not a problem except for the mandatory 15$ parking fee which is needed to exit the zoo parking lot.

It is a huge place to walk and explore. There are ample food and beverage options, though the nachos I bought were not good. Some animals became active in the evening when the weather was a bit cooler. I failed to understand the reasoning behind an elderly lady knocking on the barrier to wake up the polar bear! There were signs explicitly asking the public to not disturb the animals and yet people lack common sense. It was a bit sad seeing the small enclosure for huge birds like owl, hawk, bald eagle - these majestic birds soar in the sky in the wild but here in the zoo, there is hardly any space for them to fly ☹️.

We did the bush camp one wild night. And our guides Jasckson and Nathalie were absolute gold from start to finish. So much knowledge they shared with us about the park and the animals. The experience and behind the scenes with the animals are worth every penny. The accommodations were awesome in the tent and slept so good and even heard the lions roaring during the night. Next day we did the zoo and ran out of time so much to see and do. Zoo mobile was awesome and help out in the rain. Tons of restaurants on site and bathrooms were really clean. Everyone was super pleased with their day and we will be back.

The zoo is vast and boasts a wonderful environment. Both the admission fee and the food prices inside are very reasonable. It's an ideal place for families, friends, and couples to take a leisurely stroll. To explore the entire zoo on foot, expect to spend at least four hours. While they do offer a mini-train ride, it covers just a short distance and ultimately brings you back to the starting point. Some areas are available for rental, which might make it feel a bit commercialized, but aside from that, everything else is commendable. It's a perfect spot for a weekend outing or springtime excursion.

The Toronto zoo is a really nice place to spend time in nature. We went there with family and had a great time. We actually started with a nice cheese pizza at the first stop of the hop on- hop off . The exhibits of animals were really nice. One sad thing was to see animals in confinement do not augur well for me . But the saving grace was that animals were taken well care of . The Hop On- Hop Off train rides to each of the sections were really good. They explained the family chain of animals and the history of the zoo which was fabulous. Overall a very well spent day.

Best zoo experience I've had. We went on a slightly cooler day that was overcast, most animals were out eating/grazing or sleeping in the shade. Staff was very vocal which I thoroughly enjoyed. Very confident, knowledgeable and friendly (extra shout out to the keeper and volunteer for the Kookaburra as well as the volunteer for the Polar bear. Wonderful people with obvious love for the animals.) Animals looked very healthy across the board which made the experience even better. 10/10 recc, would travel halfway across the country to visit again!

Get a 20% discount on admission when you give them your presto card seems like a better option than buying online/in advance if you don’t mind a little bit of a wait. Had a fun 5 hours and 20000 steps in. There were a few animals off display because it was too hot out. Would recommend bringing lunch, snacks, and a refillable water bottle. We spent the whole day there and walked about 15 km. There is quite some distance between some of the exhibits, but it is a really nice walk. It was a very quiet day ; I guess there were no more than 100 people in the zoo after the schools left. Food was a bit of issue ; only Tim Horton was open and at 12.30 most of the options were sold out. A lot of interesting animals to see in a natural environment. Best to bring binoculars as some are very large and the animals may be on the other end

The Toronto Zoo is a remarkable destination for wildlife enthusiasts. I was impressed by the diverse exhibits and the zoo's dedication to conservation. From polar bears to pandas, each animal enjoys spacious, naturalistic enclosures. The 'African Savanna' exhibit is a must-see, featuring giraffes, zebras, and rhinos up close. Interactive experiences and knowledgeable staff make it both educational and enjoyable. A great place to connect with nature and support conservation efforts!

If you are not a strong walker this place rents scooters. Reservations are accepted online and if you are going on a weekend this should be your first step! Map given to us at the entrance wasn’t up to date. Did more walking than actually seeing animals. Lot of sections closed. (Don’t bother going to wetlands or Canadian sections). Lot birds missing. No drinking water fountains available. Overpriced and undervalued. But this is an adult perspective. If you plan on taking your kids they will probably have a good time but they will also question the whereabouts of many of there favourite animals.

Went and it was pouring rain… (started raining when I got there). Thought it would’ve ruined the day but all the indoor exhibits were open and very worth while. Eventually stopped raining and was able to enjoy the rest of the zoo outdoors. Loved seeing all the new animals (babies). Definitely would visit again. Love that the whole day can be enjoyed by the entire family. Animals didn’t seem unhappy which made going a lot better.

If you as me are animal lovers, then this is the place to visit. Animals seem well treated, and the staff try to maintain an atmosphere as comfortable as possible for them. The pandemic has been a challenge in many ways, and zoos have been affected considerably. Coming with family and children is definitely the best way to support them and admire the animal greatness that we have around us and our responsibility to protect it.

Fantastic Family Adventure I recently visited the Toronto Zoo, and it was an incredible experience for the whole family! The variety of animals and well-maintained exhibits left us in awe. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, adding to the overall enjoyment. The zoo's commitment to conservation and education is truly commendable. We can't wait to return and explore more of this wonderful place. Highly recommended!

It was a great experience. Come early so you can visit it all. We went in at 3pm and there was just not enough time to visit all the stops. One can ride in the Zoo Mobile but it is best to get off in every stop to fully see all the animals. It is best to purchase tickets online rather than waiting in line, just to save time. Also, they have lower rate online when you purchase at an earlier time. (Dkwhy)

The Zoo is well maintained and clean. I enjoyed their Tundra Air a lot. There is an extra charge of 12$ for that but it is totally worth it!! Parking is paid, its extra 15$. Currently, the have no birds there due to findings of bird flu in Southern Ontario. There are many activities for kids like waterpark, sand area, and some cute frames to get pictures clicked. Overall it was an amazing experience.

The Toronto Zoo offers an enriching experience with its vast collection of animals from around the globe. Housing over 5,000 creatures in well-maintained habitats, it educates visitors on wildlife conservation. Its diverse exhibits provide a family-friendly outing, though some may find the area expansive and requiring substantial walking. Overall, it’s a remarkable destination for animal enthusiasts.

It was the first time we visit. It was a really nice experience. My kids loved it. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. It is tidy, well organized and plenty of activities to do. My biggest complaint would be the terrible food options and food quality. Overpriced and bad taste that I honestly didn’t want to finish the food. I would recommend you visit but maybe bring your own food with you.

Even as an adult, the Toronto zoo is a great experience. Although it might seem pricey at $40 a ticket, it was worth it to see all of the interesting animals. It takes around 5 hours ish to walk the whole zoo so you'll definitely get a work out in. Great date spot! Only downside is that some of the animals looks miserable in captivity, but I trust that the zoo is doing it's best to care and raise the animals properly

Organized a corporate event at the Zoo for 500+ guests and it went amazingly. The catering company was really good and was able to accommodate some dietary restrictions very well. They were even have scooters for rent for mobility challenges people like me which I appreciated very much as our picnic site was VERY far from the entrance, but otherwise a great time was had by all

Toronto Zoo was a great experience with dedicated zones spanning the macro climates of the world. We especially liked Australia and Africa displays. Indo China was also cool. If you're looking for warm areas in winter, we recommend Africa, Australia, and Indochina. Gorillas were a great section to visit. Highly recommended to visit on weekdays if you're on vacation.

Went on a long weekend, super busy ( expected) for the cost to get entry, ( no first responder or military discount) I was under whelmed to be honest compared to other zoos I have been to. Also, I'm not a big fan of the number of beer vendors located at this zoo, seemingly encouraging drinking in what I would perceive should be a family setting.

Not many animals here. The Canadian zone was fully empty except few eagles. The zoo is very spacious and seems very large but there are hardly any animals. The pavilions were ok, they had good number of species. None of the shops and restaurant were open probably because it was fall. If you are visiting in fall & winter make sure to pack something to eat.

Was nice relaxing atmosphere, helpful pleasant staff. Great for small family with elementary aged children. Only thing it's far to get to and hard location to get tor and from. GPS wasn't helpful added up 4 hour drive rather than 2 hour due to redirecting navigation. Tips Bring a stroller of some sort for kids and items to bring along or rent there

A good place for family fun. Spent close to 9 hours to cover it all and this was without any kids but with our 65+ parents. The zoomobile tram was very helpful in covering more ground and to escape long walks in the summer heat. Also there were some unique animals that our parents haven't seen in their life, so the visit was worth it.

Most favorite place to go with a toddler. We visited end of May. We loved all the sections, African section is my favorite. Easy to spend half day or more here. Easy walking paths mostly, so toddlers can walk, we still rented the zoo stroller , our little one loved it and wouldn’t want to get off. Animals are so cute, and Hippos are huge. Try to go early as it opens to avoid crowds. They even have splash pads for summers.
This place is great. But parking SUCKS! VERY disorganized. You drive up, the barrier opens and let's you in. But the lot is full, and you need to go to lot 2. But you have not paid for your parking, which you need to provide proof of to leave the lot, and go to the other one. Which again requires payment to leave. But they have giraffes.

It's fun for little kids and a great educational space to learn about various animals around the world. Maybe it's the time of year we went, not too many animals are out on display. There's some nice boardwalks and pathways throughout that make for a scenic walk. Definitely a good way get steps in! It was raining for half of the day so the zoo wasn't too crowded which is what I prefer. Will be back for special events.
We visited the Zoo on a Friday, and there was hardly any wait at the gate to enter. That being said, we had purchased city passes in advance. I recommend planning nearly a full day to experience the whole zoo. A lot of fascinating animals, and the volunteers were helpful and knowledgeable. Side note: the bubble tea was amazing.

Hot day so a lot of animals were hiding in enclosures. Got to get a good look at many though later when things cooled off. Lots of EV chargers available as well. Staff was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic! Paid extra for an educational session with the Aldabra tortoise that was, frankly, a lot more enjoyable than I had expected!

Very enjoyable, this is my second time visiting and have yet to cover the entire zoo, took my son for his 5 birthday along with some friends. Would definitely recommend. I would say it's better going earlier in the day time hours before it's too crowded as well as late spring early fall when the weather tends to be cooler.

Visited the zoo on November 4, 2023. In my opinion, it was a bit late in the year to visit because many animals had been moved due to the cold weather. The entrance was free with the Canoo app. I was amazed to see some animals for the first time in my life. It's a great place for a date and a family outing.

Overall, it was an incredibly diverse and well-rounded zoo. We enjoyed the information on the cultures that would have surrounded the animals in their natural habitat, as well as the brief introductions on the animals themselves. Some animals, however, were not doing so well and were seen pacing in their cages, which was quite sad.

We love the zoo! I love learning all about the animals from the volunteers. They have a wealth of knowledge! It is so big so I recommend getting a membership so that you can see it all slowly. It’s such a great way to spend a big part of your day outside. Lots of picnic tables to choose from. I love how there’s lots of fun “playground” areas for the kids everywhere.
Kids love it, great fun and that’s why it deserves our 5 stars rating. Good animals variety. Make sure you visit all sections. Will take you around 4 hours + lunch time (fast food options are available). If you are a new comer make sure to use your Canoo app discount. You get free admission. Best time to visit, in my opinion, is end of Spring or beginning of Autumn
What a lovely place to spend a day! My kids always enjoy it. It certainly allows them to burn off some energy, plus it's educational. Win-win! Most of the time, we pack lunch, snacks, and water to save some $ (they have water refill stations). Just don't forget the sunscreen!

Always a lovely trip to the zoo on a day I want to enjoy nature. The Zoomobile ride around the zoo is worth it. I tried it for the first time. Some animals seem to like cooler temperature, as when it's very hot, they seem to be sleeping or hiding somewhere.

Wear comfortable shoes. Be prepared to walk, a lot, like 10,00p steps! Lol My advise is go on a cooler, less sunny day, and you'll see so many animals. The tram is an additional cost of $30 for 4 but it came in handy especially at the end of our visit.

Fantastic place to spend a day out. All the animals kept in the zoo are in abundance and not merely a sample of their species. Only reason I give one star less is they have a parking charge which is quite hefty. Given the crowds they attract, the zoo management should have ideally thought about rationalizing it if not remove completely.
Best place to visit as family. Adult pass costs like 36 dollars totally worth it. Can easily spend a whole day in zoo. Well maintained and clean environment. Lots of food stalls inside. Would recommend taking a zoomobile pass if you want to cover the entire park without getting exhausted from all the walking. Red panda is so cute too.
Definitely bring a cart if you are with younger kids! There’s an EV charger free of use! Would recommend going when it’s not too hot as all the animals would be less active under the scorching heat. :) See my video where a males peacock was trying to get a date with the females but got ignored a couple of time LoL. That was fun!
The zoo has over 4000 species to look at. They have different zones or continents, which contain all the animals and birds. They also have the zoomobile, which I do not recommend if you are able to walk as it only covers the outline of the zoo and doesn't help at all. Lots of eateries and good sign boards for direction. More
Bring your presto card for 20% off! The polar bear and gorillas were the coolest. Sad that the otters and red pandas were asleep and out of sight but what can ya do? Still had a great time. Plan for atleast 5 hours of walking in order to see everything. It's a huge zoo

It was an awesome experience along with family during this fall season. The zoo has amazing range. I would suggest to opt for zoomobile ride for seamless experience as it’s a huge area to cover. I bet without zoomobile you need 2 days to cover all. Kids gone love and experience some live experience with animals.
A good day experience and been here several times in my life. Mid to late August is a good time to visit. Plan to stay for at least 6 to 8 hours. Easy parking and lots to do for everyone. You'll easily do 20,000 steps lol!

It was a great day to go to the zoo. The animals are so much more active in the cooler weather, the crowds are way smaller and parking is also easier. Note that there are limited places to buy food and drinks throughout the zoo and they close at 4:30 at this time of the year. More
Great time! We went in the off season and a few habitats including penguins and chimps were unavailable under construction so make sure to check the website before you go. Other than that it was great with very friendly and engaging staff talking to the kids about the animals :)
One and only nice zoo which includes mostly all kinds of animal creature from region of continents. Planing : Try to go early in morning for better experience with animal Fees : 37 $ plus tax Parking ️: 15$ If you recently got PR : use Canoo App for free entry

We went to the zoo as part of the city pass. It was decent. I really liked the indoor buildings they had. The zoo mobile was a little lack luster, we didn’t see that many animals with it. Parking was $15 and must be purchased at the green buildings near the entrance.
Fun but huge, you'll need 2 trips to cover the entire zoo. You should definitely come in the summertime, many attractions were closed due to season change and inclement weather.
