This bakery has been my favourite place to get Lebanese pies for the past few years. The bakery recently changed owners and the new owners are excellent. Their meat and cheese cheese pies are my favourites. I love the meat pies for a quick, savoury and tasty breakfast.

Simply THE BEST in all of Ottawa. As a person who has been to many middle eastern countries, I can say that Al Balad's pies even exceed the deliciousness of the pies made there. Also, The staff is friendly, professional, and experienced. If I do not order from Al Balad every morning, I simply cannot work. I have an addiction to their "egg and cheess" pies. All their other pies are delicious and I usually like to try something new from the menu every once in a while. Their dough is so fresh. I told the baker about this and he said that they do not use the dough anymore if it has been out for longer than 2 hours. Amazing!

Staff here super attentive, food choice really traditional and hits the spot. Fresh ingredients every time, totally worth the cash. Oh, and their veggie options? Two words - simply awesome. Defo worth a visit.

Absolutely delicious. Lots of veggie options here too which is a plus. Edit: I keep coming back! Consistently wonderful food. And such a wide variety of meatless options! I've tried 6 of the pies, 3 of the pockets, the hummus and the garlic dip. Even with all of those items tried, there are still 11 vegetarian menu items I still look forward to trying. The pies and pockets have all been excellent. The dips are not as flavourful as I like. My favourite menu items so far are the mohamara pie, keshek pie, and the spinach and feta pocket.

The authenticity here is off the charts; these savoury pies whisk you straight back to the heart of the Middle East. Quick and efficient, the crew here won't keep you waiting for your bite of heaven. Plus, the value for your bucks is pretty decent, given the portion sizes. Trust me, nobody's leaving here hungry. No fussy, nutrient-counting diners here, please. It's all about hearty, flavorful food, bursting with genuine flavours.

Simply the best Lebanese pie I had in Canada in the last 5 years living here. Quick and friendly service, always freshly prepared and baked, amazingly seasoned and some excellent true to it's origins flavors - while also having some "canadianized versions" for the non-authentic or creative fans of Lebanese pies. Locally owned and operated, I wish all the best for the family of owners as I'll be always coming back.

Here, there's a genuine richness in the taste of the pies, which is hard to find elsewhere. You sense the authenticity in every bite. Prices are reasonable for the quality you receive. The staff know their pies inside out, providing useful insights into the various flavors to guide your selection. The deliciousness and homeliness of the food leave a lasting impression. There's definitely value for money.

AMAZING! My wife and I have eaten at almost every Lebanese Pie spot in Ottawa and Al-Balad bakery is the WINNER. The bread on the Zataar and Cheese pies are super soft and fluffy - unlike other spots where they are tough to chew. The food is never greasy and the customer service is amazing. Super nice owners and workers. This is now our go-to spot. PLEASE never change your recipe Al-Balad!

Only 2 places in Ottawa so far has the best real taste of Lebanese Pie AKA "Mana2eesh " , this place is one of them. Great taste , good quality and fresh vegies. Ended up trying a number of items because everything was so good- favorite was probably the zataar with veggies. The meat pie with veggies, mini cheese and veggie pizzas, and spinach and cheese pies was also excellent. The simplicity of this place is part of what makes it amazing- they clearly have been making flatbreads/pies in the method they're using for a long.

Upon taking the first bite, you'll taste the freshness. These guys don't play around, using only the most authentic and finest ingredients. The service was swift and superb. As for the flavors, they hit the mark. It's hard to beat their savory pies, real deal without a doubt. Wallet-friendly, too. Scored full points for both authenticity and affordability.

The best pies in the town, the meat and cheese ones are very delicious, juicy and soft, try with them the mohammara one if you love a little spicy flavour. The Safiha, which is my favorite, is so good both the veggies and tahini, you just need to pre-order them. Simply the best bakery .

Best pies I had in the city, even better than ones from Montreal! Ordered the zatar, veggie and cheese with lemon. The veggies are fresh and crisp, bread is crispy on end and soft and the zatar is on point. Staff are very friendly and it’s great to call ahead before ordering. This is my go to spot, excellent ingredients and quality product!

You won't have to break the bank here, pals. Forking out the cash feels justified when every bite is an explosion of flavor. The unique pie selection, each more addictive than the last - incredible. As a side note, herbivores won't feel left out either, plenty of veggie options to go around. Taste and value? They've got it sorted.

I tried their pies today but I was disappointed. They tasteless and not worth the price. The dough was too thin, the filling was minimal, and even the cheese was barely noticeable. Additionally, the price was higher compared to other stores.

Absolutely stellar pies here, truly authentic and of the highest quality. Staff members are such darlings, super friendly and welcoming. Every penny spent here is absolutely worth it. Freshly baked with care. A must visit for anyone in the mood for warm, tasty pies. Wooow, just thinking about it makes my mouth water.

The eggs n cheese are to die for. The meat pie is also fantastic. I’m yet to try other kinds, but I have a feeling it will all be as good. I tasted a pistachio cookie too, it’s heavenly.

Love this place. Slowly making my way across the menu and trying everything. My favorite is the shish tawook pie. The spices used in the chicken with the cheese go so well. I usually pick something up in the morning on the way to work. Service is quick aswell!

Great place and delicious Syria pies. I had muhammara and cheese and Sukuk, and both were perfect. The guys running the place are very friendly and helpful. It's great to see Syrian small businesses in Ottawa. This fore sure make it closer to home.

Great place for Manakesh (Lebanese pies) in Kanata south. Amazing food - we love the Kisek, veggies with cheese, meat and zaatar pies. The only downside is that the customer service varies from time to time. Still highly recommend this place!

The meat pies here are delicious! The were nice and thin, full of flavour and hot! They also offer mini meat, cheese and hot dog pies which come in 12 per container. We really enjoyed those as well. The staff here are very friendly :)

Best meat pies I’ve had. The Al Balad egg, cheese, and sausage was probably the best thing I’ve ever eaten. It takes way better than a Timmies breakfast sandwich and is bigger for the same price! So yummy.
